House Intelligence Committee Will Vote To Release FISA Corruption Memo…

According to Representative Dave Joyce (R-OH14) the House Intelligence Committee will hold a vote on the release of the four-page Nunes memo that reveals systemic corruption within the DOJ and FBI; including the unlawful use of FISA-702(16)(17) data searches which were part of an elaborate DOJ-FBI surveillance program on the political campaign of Donald Trump.

Additionally, Chad Pergram reported that Chairman Devin Nunes met with Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte to discuss the best process to release the memo.   There are generally two ways it could be done, the HPSCI vote is the most likely.

As more people have become aware of the back-story to the campaign surveillance, FISA-702 issue, and the unlawful conduct of the FBI and DOJ, there is also a great deal of misinformation.  Few people have followed the entire story as it unfolded and that has led to large numbers of people mistakenly thinking the process for revealing the classified intelligence -at the heart of the issue- can be easily released.

There are also multiple media voices taking advantage of people with limited understanding of the year-long process.  Glenn Greenwald published an article today claiming there were “Four Easy Ways” the Nunes memo could be revealed.  That article by Greenwald is intentional disinformation targeted to cloud the larger issues and create chaos.  A deconstruction of Greenwald’s ridiculous arguments is HERE.

It is essential the process is followed that allows the larger story to come out without providing the use of political cover by those who are intent on hiding the corruption.

Once the House Intelligence Committee votes to declassify the four-page memo, the White House, National Security Adviser (H.R. McMaster) and National Security Council will have five days to review the content.  The White House will likely have a brief review by the NSC and the Office of Legal Counsel of the content, and then issue approval for the release.

There are poorly informed voices who claim President Trump can arbitrarily declassify the Nunes memo.  That is false.  The White House (the executive branch) does not own the document.  The Nunes memo is owned by the Legislative Branch, and specifically by the House Intelligence Committee.  The Executive Branch can request the memo, but they cannot demand it without following a process.  Therefore, without submission, the executive branch cannot declassify it.  There is an inherent constitutional separation of power.

Secondly, while it might seem like a good idea for President Trump to declassify the Nunes memo, if given by the Intel Committee, it would not be prudent to do so.  Within this classified document Donald Trump is the subject of adverse action outlined therein.

The President was the target of the unlawful action by the DOJ and FBI as reportedly outlined within the Nunes memo.  Because the memo contains details of FBI and DOJ surveillance, Donald Trump (now POTUS) is both the victim and the head of law enforcement in charge of investigation the illegal action that created the victim.

In addition to being both the victim and charged with the legal authority over the FBI and DOJ, there are downstream ramifications due to Special Counsel Robert Mueller investigating President Trump for “Obstruction of Justice”.

White House lawyer Don McGahn would clearly instruct Trump (victim) to stay the hell away from this investigation. There is an inherent conflict.   Any exceptional action taken by POTUS could be construed as interference, including violations of the separation of powers.

Therefore the best route as constructed by Nunes and Goodlatte would be for the House to vote to declassify, pass on to the Executive for review, then President Trump grants approval for the request of the House (legislative branch).

By law, all attempts by the legislative branch to declassify intelligence information must be given to the executive branch for review in advance of release.  This is because the executive branch needs to see if any current intelligence operations might be compromised by information not known to the legislative branch.

The National Security Council and any impacted offices of the intelligence information (CIA, NSA, FBI, DOJ, U.S. DoS, DOD, etc.) review, provide opinion, and sign off prior to executive approval and release.

It is not just this declassification that goes through this process, all declassification goes through this process.   In this example, presumably, the President has no adverse reason to block the declassification request and it is likely all approvals will happen quite quickly.

After the White House approves of the HPSCI request, the Memo then becomes public.

That’s when Democrats will attack the memo as being authored and misrepresented by Chairman Devin Nunes.  This is the politics.

If/when this happens (highly likely it will), Chairman Nunes will then request the entire House of Representatives be given the opportunity to see the underlying FISA documentation that led to the summary.

The underlying FISA documentation likely includes the DOJ/FBI FISA application as presented to the FISA court; again, likely to include the “Clinton/Steele Dossier”.

Additionally, the FISA-702 raw data will include the FBI “searches” on Trump officials that led to the upstream collection of information and the subsequent “unmasking” of Trump officials.

Releasing the underlying FISA documentation -that proves the Nunes FISA memo- will likely follow a similar path as the Nunes memo itself.  Again, this is a process, and within each of these processes there are revelations as to the scope of the corruption and conspiracy.

And this is just Devin Nunes.

Behind Nunes the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley, is investigating the Steele Dossier and the FBI use therein.  Also there’s the House Judiciary Committee, Bob Goodlatte, focused on the DOJ corruption.  Nunes, Grassley and Goodlatte are bolstered by Inspector General Michael Horowitz who is providing the year-long investigation evidence into politicization of the DOJ and FBI.

The entire enterprise of exposing the corruption and conspiracy has just begun.

CTH readers are well ahead of the entire storyline; however, for the rest of America -including a massive part the voting electorate- they have no idea what’s coming.

Devin Nunes is just the beginning.  Batting Order:

  • First-up:  Devin Nunes (Chairman Intel Committee, Full I/C Oversight)
  • Second:  Chuck Grassley (Chairman Senate Judiciary – DOJ/FBI Oversight)
  • Third: Bob Goodlatte (Chairman House Judiciary – DOJ Oversight)
  • Clean-up:  Michael Horowitz (DOJ Inspector General)

•House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes is focused on the FISA abuse; and overall abuse from the larger intelligence community (FBI, CIA, ODNI and NSA). The FISA-702 angle is his leverage to reveal it.

•Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley is focused on the Dossier fraud; and the overall DOJ and FBI corruption. The Steele Dossier is his leverage to reveal it.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley completely predicted that “hoodwinked by the Russians” would be the fall-back position by Clinton and the FBI/DOJ insider team as it relates to their connection to the dossier content.

Accordingly, Senator Grassley and Senator Lindsey Graham sent the FBI a referral for criminal prosecution of Christopher Steele based on statements from FBI agents who attributed statements to Steele; those second-hand accounts conflict with known evidence about the dossier content. –SEE HERE– Grassley is calling the FBI’s bluff and demanding they investigate the horrible British fibber while knowing the fibber isn’t Steele – it’s the FBI.

•House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte is focused on the FBI and DOJ corruption; and his leverage is the Office of Inspector General, Michael Horowitz, and the year-long IG investigation that just began turning over 1.2 million pages of investigative documents.

Remember, this entire process didn’t begin with the Nunes memo, it began back in March and April of 2017 when Chairman Nunes discovered the unlawful unmasking and FISA surveillance activity; and the seeds of that discovery go back to March 2016 when National Security Agency Director Admiral Mike Rogers noticed the unlawful FISA-702(16)(17) searches.

In March 2017 Devin Nunes was stuck in a legal conundrum due to the classified nature of the information and the fact that declassification by the DOJ was adverse to their interests.  The DOJ was the entity carrying out the prior unlawful action contained within the classified evidence viewed by Devin Nunes.

A plan was developed.

In April and May 2017 Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, and NSA Director Admiral Rogers, began assembling a pathway for Devin Nunes to climb out of that intelligence box.   ODNI Dan Coats declassified the FISA Court opinion, and that opened the door for Horowitz, Grassley, Goodlatte and Nunes to question the content therein that circled the unlawful action of the DOJ and FBI.

Where we are today is a step in the investigative process that is an outcome of months of work by Coats, Rogers and Horowitz to extract Chairman Devin Nunes and bring all prior DOJ and FBI corruption to the surface.

IG Stimulated Releases of Information:

♦Release #1 was the FBI Agent Strzok and Attorney Lisa Page story; and the repercussions from discovering their politically motivated bias in the 2015/2016 Clinton email investigation and 2016/2017 Russian Election investigation.

♦Release #2 outlined the depth of FBI Agent Strzok and FBI Attorney Page’s specific history in the 2016 investigation into Hillary Clinton to include the changing of the wording [“grossly negligent” to “extremely careless”] of the probe outcome delivered by FBI Director James Comey.

♦Release #3 was the information about DOJ Deputy Bruce Ohr being in contact with Fusion GPS at the same time as the FISA application was submitted and granted by the FISA court; which authorized surveillance and wiretapping of candidate Donald Trump; that release also attached Bruce Ohr and Agent Strzok directly to the Steele Dossier.

♦Release #4 was information that Deputy Bruce Ohr’s wife, Nellie Ohr, was an actual contract employee of Fusion GPS, and was hired by F-GPS specifically to work on opposition research against candidate Donald Trump. Both Bruce Ohr and Nellie Ohr are attached to the origin of the Christopher Steele Russian Dossier.

♦Release #5 was the specific communication between FBI Agent Strzok and FBI Attorney Page. The 10,000 text messages that included evidence of them both meeting with Asst. FBI Director Andrew McCabe to discuss the “insurance policy” against candidate Donald Trump in August of 2016.

If the memo release leads to the eventual disbanding of the Mueller investigation and firings within the FBI and DOJ, Michael Flynn is going to look pretty stupid for taking a guilty plea in order to cover his own ass for lying. I would hope Trump doesn’t hand him a pardon in the end if that happens with the Mueller investigation.

Hi. My two cents on Flynn. Do we really think VSG PDJT “fell” into all of the info he seems to be abreast of by reading a newsletter somewhere? Why did McCabe say, first we take out Flynn, then Trump? I think. as the Head of IC for many years Flynn knew exactly who was doing what and when. I personally think he is owed a debt of gratitude. The whole BS line about lying to the Crooked FBI is just that…BS. No pardon necessary, Drop the charges!

THIS!!!! Are we to think that Mr. Trump was/is so naïve as to not know GOING IN what he was up against? He is the KING of “owning the downside” (Art of the Deal)! I am pretty confident that subterfuge has been the name of the game for quite some time.

Are we to assume that just because someone is told “You’re Fired” (sorry, couldn’t resist) from one position, means that they haven’t been “hired” for something else? Flynn, Bannon, Manigault, et al…… I think the history books, and documentaries explaining the Trump Administration are going to need appreciation and interpretation ala Sun Tzu. I don’t think General Flynn has EVER been out of favor, or service, from our Lion, President Donald John Trump!

The delay in release is strategic and yields multiple benefits.
To maximize public awareness of the issue and increase interest and anticipation for more info – it is important that this makes it through at least one complete news cycle as the lead story. Right now the shumershutdown dominates, and would be/is competing with the news of corruption outlined in the memo. Better to not dilute.
Going through the release process, which will include review by intell agencies, will give the memo and its findings an official endorsement of credibility – in other words it’s not just some partisan talking points cooked up by a few Republicans in Congress or POTUS himself, which will be the dems primary counterattack.
Some time is also useful for criminal investigators to review info and plan for formal investigations by DoJ before all becomes public knowledge and individual defenses are formulated.
Additionally, the delay gives space for democrats to attempt to fight against release and try to obfuscate the findings – which could be giving them some rope to hang themselves – they will appear (are) complicit in the corruption once all the information comes out.
I’d expect that we will see the memo relatively soon, but after the shutdown is overcome, and it gets additional MSM coverage.

The Dems are scrambling. They know they’re responsible for the shutdown, they know the DACAns are mad, so they have to work on both budget and immigration issues. And now they have to also prepare for the release of the memo and get their talking points straight and work with the fake news media to blast their propaganda. No wonder fake news hasn’t been reporting on the FISA scandal, will be easier for them to manipulate their viewers. Schiff is right, in part at least. SOME Americans don’t understand the underlying info about the memo. But we do.

  6. How convenient: Messages between Strzok and Page not recorder…

“The Justice Department has turned over to Congress additional text messages involving an FBI agent who was removed from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team following the discovery of derogatory comments about President Donald Trump.
But the department also said in a letter to lawmakers that its record of messages sent to and from the agent, Peter Strzok, was incomplete because the FBI, for technical reasons, had been unable to preserve and retrieve about five months’ worth of communications. ”

      Here is the AP version;

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department has turned over to Congress additional text messages involving an FBI agent who was removed from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigative team following the discovery of derogatory comments about President Donald Trump.

But the department also said in a letter to lawmakers that its record of messages sent to and from the agent, Peter Strzok, was incomplete because the FBI, for technical reasons, had been unable to preserve and retrieve about five months’ worth of communications.

New text messages highlighted in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray by Sen. Ron Johnson, the Republican chairman of the Senate’s Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, are from the spring and summer of 2016 and involve discussion of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. They reference Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s decision to accept the FBI’s conclusion in that case and a draft statement that former FBI Director James Comey had prepared in anticipation of closing out the Clinton investigation without criminal charges.

The FBI declined to comment Sunday.

I did not realize that the corruption included the “House Ethics Committee”. Clearly, they are part of the problem too. Representatives Adam Schiff (D-CA) keeps reappearing.

    Published on Jan 20, 2018

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) uncovered the fact that the Obama administration was unmasking Americans in its intelligence gathering on matters unrelated to Russia. For his efforts on blowing the whistle on the truth, the House Ethics Committee issued him a complaint, charging that he “may have made unauthorized disclosures of classified information, in violation of House Rules, regulations, or other standards of conduct.”

Meanwhile, Representatives Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Jackie Speier (D-CA) each publicly commented on unmaskings with respect to Lt. General Michael Flynn. Judicial Watch subsequently called upon the committee to investigate both Schiff and Speier under the same standard.

The House Ethics Committee is investigating Nunes on exposing the truth, but are not investigating Schiff and Speier for disclosing classified information. It is being used for partisan purposes to protect the Obama administration from the consequences of potentially abusing intelligence tools.

Please tell me that communications between Strzok and Page that happened at a critical stage after the election and during their time on Mueller’s team haven’t been “deleted.”

“But, according to the letter, the FBI told the department that its system for retaining text messages sent and received on bureau phones had failed to preserve communications between Strzok and Page over a five-month period between Dec. 14, 2016, and May 7, 2017. The explanation for the gap was “misconfiguration issues related to rollouts, provisioning, and software upgrades that conflicted with the FBI’s collection capabilities.”

P/Trump could easily release the 4 page Memo. P/Trump doesn’t need to be concerned about the appearance since he is the subject of an investigation….P/Trump has a duty to himself and to save the Rule of Law and the Constitution and therefore he can release anything that clears his name and shows the Criminals who committed Treason/Sedition/Subversion/Espionage/Perjury etc.. The President will not release the 4- pages keeping an Arm’s length and separation of powers, since others will. But if they were not released; to save himself and the Constitution he would Release them; he has a duty to the People, the Constitution and himself.

    • Paul says:

Exactly; P/Trump has many powers to speed up the process…but the delay has been part of his plan since January 20, 2017. Timing is everything and there are many reasons why he is so patient; he planned every step for the past year. ‘

Remember the Snake Story: P/Trump hinted to everyone what he was going to do. He knew the only way to win this Civil War is to fully prosecute Treason, Sedition, Subversion, Espionage, Racketeering, Perjury etc…or the enemy will destroy him and Reverse MAGA in 8 years.

      • Jenni says:

Mueller seems to have some links to the Historical Corruption in which he may or may not have some exposure. If Mueller continues down the path of looking for dust…he might just cross that line of liability…and getting P/Trump more upset at this point; especially when P/Trump is holding an unbeatable Hand to Win this Civil War by using the Criminal Code…this would be a stupid move.

        • Paul says:

We know it is hard to hear all the Fake Criminal Codes and Fake News against P/Trump; As stated by you and David historically…”Bring It On” you want more fake attacks against P/Trump …it just guarantees 200% that there will be Indictments, Grand Jury Investigations and “Harsher Punishments”… Since David made that statement; I don’t get so upset when they attack P/Trump. “Bring it On”

      • And of course, his declaration of a National Emergency about corruption, Seemed to be about foreigners – but wasn’t – and came with a lot of legal leeway.

I read Q, but am also very cautious about it. This post from Dec 6th is interesting in hindsight though.

    • covfefe999 says:

The screen grab of the conversation has the Dec 6 2017 date on it. But how do you know it’s for real? It would be really easy for any of us to fabricate something like that. I’d be more impressed if we could see the original.

I think there are a lot of people posting false information, whether to promote themselves or to disrupt intelligent conversation (like the trolls who visit this site and ask seemingly innocuous questions)..

      • covfefe999 says:

OK, now I know that the original 10 days of darkness comment didn’t have anything to do with the Jan 30 date. It seems Q is a bit like Nostradamus, making vague predictions that are likely to come true in some way. A government shutdown does not create “darkness”. Also, when the Atlanta airport suffered a power outage a lot of people thought the darkness comment applied to that. People need to be more discerning and demanding. Vague predictions are not useful or verifiable. Demand details and facts.

I have been doing my best to see how much information is out there that is accurate and mostly in conservative circles since the msm isn’t really doing anything as of yet. I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but there really is a good deal of misinformation going around and a great deal of confusion. On a positive note, a lot of people are asking good questions.

Last night, I was trying to learn more about Qanon and everything I’ve been missing over a long period of time. I’ve been hearing the name Q even more so now than before, or its just been subconsciously becoming more aware, who knows. Anyways, here are some highly intelligent people who are disseminating Q’s statements for the public and even they do not understand or have followed what has been going on. For example, one mentioned last night it was the first he had heard of Admiral Rogers visiting President Elect and the very next day the campaign completely emptying and moving out.

I was hurrahing the fact I actually knew something that he did not. Petty? No, considering it was probably the only thing he had talked about in that 30+ minutes that I actually knew. As I said, I am on a mission to learn more about Q and what is going on there. I even took pages of notes.

One thing that I’ve realized it’s been hard for me to explain in a short space of all that is going on. There is just too much information and a few words cannot give it justice. It doesn’t help her I’m so long winded either. 🙃. (To the people who know me, you can stop laughing now. 😁)

So I’ve been sending people here to CTH to try and catch up and understand the complexities, which are many in trying to unweave this web of theirs. I don’t just give up this information to just any group, I really take a moment to think overall if they are just as patriotic and not a lot of trolls. Many of the groups I’ve been visiting are yuuge President Trump supporters and have been on the Trump Train for quite some time. They believe in our Republic and how our Founding Fathers not only fought for all we have now, but the respect they have for how they did it. I’ve really learned quite a lot from these people who are just like us in the fight for truth and saving our great nation.

I also believe we need to bring all of these groups together. Q has been talking about how the last administration and before have been doing their utmost to divide all of us to make us weaker whether it be religion (Christianity vs/ muslim), class (antifa), race (blm) and so forth. Conquer and Divide has been a theme I’ve been hearing a lot about in these Q forums of what we need to be fighting before it’s too late for all of us. I agree. However, I think bringing our two groups together first would be more ideal and easier.

We’d become a great deal stronger if we brought all of these Q groups together with us. All have a great deal of worthwhile information to share and bring to the table. Not only would we have more numbers, we’d have a yuuge pool of really smart people sharing what we all know.

I’ve seen people here mention Q from time-to-time, and share links, but it seems like it’s just a few people. Imagine all of us together and sharing information, now that would be something. Plus, the next time something like this drops, they would be armed with the knowledge Sundance has provided. They’d have been kept up to date from the beginning, no catch up. In addition, the same would be for us. They know a lot of what is going on that we don’t.

Unfortunately, I have not heard anything back from any of these groups as of yet. It may either be too early (night owls), or they have no trust in the information I’ve offered from CTH. I just thought bringing thousands of people together to share what we know would not only make us stronger in numbers, but knowledge is power as well. I’m still going to keep trying though, so hopefully we will see more people visiting CTH and arming themselves with the knowledge Sundance has provided along with the Treepers in the comments. Yeah, I mentioned you guys too, how could I not? Sundance doesn’t work alone, he’s got all of you guys helping too with the information you’ve all brought forth. It’s why I love this place, one can learn from so many here.

    • You would be Amazed how many progressives loath the Clintons, Obama, and the DNC as corrupt frauds. That’s why I hate seeing crap like “Libtard,” which is one of the social hate-memes the two corpagovernment parties use to get votes, as they both collude in robbing us and shipping jobs overseas.

We need to start building bridges with these people who don’t like corruption and can see obama and the hag for who they really are.

If Q is right, and I believe he is, we are going to have to come together whether we have an R or D or I by our name when we vote.

The corrupt have done a heck of a job in splitting up the masses, it’s not going to be easy righting the ship, but with enough people who are patriots and love our country, it will work. Lots of hard work.

I’ve never once written or called anyone, (well, except for now) a libtard. It’s a nasty name. I’ve called people, low-information voters, but not much worse. When I was reading an article from the Hill today, I couldn’t help but notice the nasty names they’ve come up with for not only our President Trump, but his supporters as well. People have to truly have some kind of sickness to be full of so much hate. And they take pride in doing it and getting reactions. They think they’re awesome. In all honesty, I cannot see these people changing, and will leave it to others in hopes of changing. I want nothing to do with them. These are the ones that may be too far gone.

Anyways, to change the subject, I do hope you have a fabulous week surrounded by lots of smiles and laughter,

  28. I think Trump worrying about an obstruction charge simply for releasing the truth, without comment, is stretching a legalistic point, though. And in a Republican Congress?

    • covfefe999 says:

It the memo can be released in any other way it should be. The memo is related to Trump and the fake investigation of Russian collusion. It’s best he lay low and let someone else declassify it. He’s got so much other work going on, he shouldn’t be tied up with even a fake obstruction charge.

Well, apparently the deep state has started their war against the truth. Golly, gee, they just happened to loose all the records. My view is that ANYONE in charge or even related to management of the data needs to be summarily fired for cause and prosecuted immediately. This is really serious…

Why does this website keep disappearing? Me thinks the black hat spooks may be trying to disable it. Sundance, whoever you are, is too smart. The trail of the black hats is about to be held up in the light of a blaze of glory!

I suspect there are both hidden guards and predators lurking around all the players in this chess game. But I think the most of the players are more and more realizing that the Checkmate trap is already set. If not, Sundance wouldn’t be telegraphing so many of the moves.

All the frantic black hat wiggling will only reveal who they are and make them easier to spot by their squirming.

I hope there are good historians taking notes. This is going to be a turning of the tides for our Country, God bless her.
