Chaff and Countermeasures – The DC Outrage Traps…

Yesterday Senators Johnson and Grassley opened the door for the DOJ and FBI to justify the post-election investigation of President Donald Trump, based on a premise of a possible FBI counterintelligence operation ran against the office of the Vice-President, Mike Pence. And lickety-split the outrage voices jumped right to work. Predictable.

Discussions, conversations and displays of evidence outlining the efforts of the intelligence community, to defend against the potential of a compromised President, are exactly what the previous administration officials want to see.  This is the conversation President Obama, Susan Rice, Ben Rhodes and Denis McDonough would be happy to discuss.

Think of the worst or most shocking possibility you can imagine for what might have taken place.  Wiretaps on the White House? Enlisted assistance from staffers? Bugs placed in the cufflinks of Donald Trump?  So what?  From their position all of these efforts were undertaken because they were dealing with the possibility of a U.S. President who might be under the control of a foreign government.  This is the conversation they would enjoy.

From their by-the-book perspective the officials who ran the counterintelligence operation against President Trump have no fear of discussions about what they did in their post-election defense of the constitution (that’s how they will sell it). No fear.

Discussions of seemingly outrageous activity, via lots of blockbuster revelation, is in their interest.  All of their actions easily justified from the standpoint of a possibility the inbound President was compromised.  “We were riddled with anxiety”, they say.

There’s no risk to them in discussing their action, any action, undertaken from the basis of their premise.  Recruiting incoming administration people to conduct surveillance and report back to the FBI? Justified under this premise.  There is no upper limit.

Again, think of the most shocking revelation you can possibly imagine, none of it concerns them so long as they can justify it from their pre-constructed premise that Trump was a Russian asset.  For this premise, there is no rule book. Everything is ‘by-the-book‘ because there is no book.  It’s the perfect Alinsky play.

The participating officials within the DOJ, FBI or intelligence apparatus simply reference the possibility of President Trump as a Russian asset and every jaw-dropping headline reaches a crescendo only to fizzle into the ether of nothingness when an official says: “Yeah, so what?”

This is exactly what those officials want to see happen as they tell the story of their unprecedented heroic efforts to ensure all angles of possibility were covered.

These participating officials would like nothing more than a dozen congressional hearings where they can explain to the viewing public how honorable they were in trying to deal with the possibility of such an unprecedented threat… Oh, how the summer of headlines will be gleefully cheered by the adoring media.  You think this conversation worries the participants?  Not a smidgen.

The entire time all of these blockbuster outrages are being debated and analyzed in granular detail, you know what’s not being discussed?… The originating predicate.

Discussing the consequences, regardless of how ‘shocking‘, or ‘jaw-dropping‘, or ‘unimaginable‘, plays right into the hands of the participating members of the fraud and scheme.  These are discoveries they welcome. These are discoveries to be planted.  This is where they want the focus. This is Chaff and Countermeasures.

What they don’t want to discuss is the origination of ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ in July 2016.  What they don’t want to discuss is Fusion-GPS and the creation of the Steele Dossier.  What they don’t want to discuss is how the fraudulent premise was established.

What they don’t want to discuss is the exploitation of the NSA database for political surveillance. That’s what they don’t want to discuss… And every time attention starts to head in that direction, they’ll throw out another entirely justifiable headline-grabbing detail of their post election activity.

Shiny things; like the wife of Pence’s chief-of-staff worked with Peter Strzok.

Must be urgent, right?

[…] Fox News has learned the texts, initially released in 2018 by a Senate committee, are under renewed scrutiny, with GOP Sens. Chuck Grassley and Homeland Security Committee chair Ron Johnson sending a letter Thursday night to Attorney General Bill Barr pushing for more information on the matter.

Oh, wait, so they sat on them because?…..

Chaff and Countermeasures.

This is how the DC game is played.  Senators Johnson and Grassley laid the first shiny distraction on the table; and based on the responses, boy howdy, does the outrage game work well.  Inquiry immediately follows the distraction.

Oh, how quickly we forget our references for this DC strategy:

Where’s the Graham-Grassley letter to Gina Haspel?

Dear Director Haspel: “Hey, so, CIA, how’d Crossfire Hurricane start? What did you get through the Counterintelligence Mission Center?  Can you spare a few minutes to note the contacts from  GCHQ, and that meeting between Robert Hannigan and John Brennan?”

Huh, funny that.

Where’s the Burr-Warner letter to Paul Nakasone?

Dear Gen. Nakasone: “Can you provide us a little more information about why the NSA dropped database “about queries”?  Maybe outline the contractors that were of such concern they had to be restricted from access…. and, oh, their current status?”

Too soon? Three years.

The outrage trap must be avoided….

The issue(s) surround President Obama and high-ranking Obama intelligence officials, notably: John Brennan, James Comey, James Clapper and Sally Yates intentionally lying and/or misrepresenting issues to president-elect Donald Trump and the transition team in/around the transition period and after the January 20, 2017, inauguration.

Some of the misinformation stems from intelligence officials telling direct lies (ex. telling President-elect, and President Trump he was not under investigation). Other aspects were lies of omission surrounding the Steele Dossier during the January 6th, 2017, intelligence briefing session with the President-elect in Trump Tower.

In essence, there were many misleading and false statements, with varying scales of severity, during the period from November 9th, 2016, through mid-May 2017 when President Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.

James Comey wrote all about the unorthodox investigative methods they were forced to use in unseen memos currently withheld…. awaiting shiny thing timing:

(FBI Declarations about Comey Memos)

The FBI, DOJ, ODNI, CIA and intelligence officials were intentionally not being direct and honest with President Trump and key members of his new administration. Obviously their lack of honesty was a serious issue, and in some cases had serious ramifications.

The expressed finding by Robert Mueller’s two-year probe of ‘no Trump-Russia collusion, no Trump-Russia conspiracy, and no Trump-Russia obstruction’ has led to some hindsight reviews where anger surfaces about the now visible deception.  However, there is a trap laid here and Democrats are hoping outraged voices will walk straight into it. Some are already getting very close.

At 12:15pm on January 20th, 2017, Obama’s outgoing National Security Advisor Susan Rice wrote a memo-to-self. Many people have called this her “CYA” (cover your ass) memo, from the position that Susan Rice was protecting herself from consequences if the scheme against President Trump was discovered. Here’s the email:

On January 5, following a briefing by IC leadership on Russian hacking during the 2016 Presidential election, President Obama had a brief follow-on conversation with FBI Director Jim Corney and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates in the Oval Office. Vice President Biden and I were also present.

President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities “by the book“.

The President stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.

From a national security perspective, however, President Obama said he wants to be sure that, as we engage with the incoming team, we are mindful to ascertain if there is any reason that we cannot share information fully as it relates to Russia.

[Redacted Classified Section of Unknown length]

The President asked Corney to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Corney said he would.

Susan Rice ~ (pdf link)

As stated, many have looked at this as a “CYA” memo, but that’s not what this is.

This is a justification memo, written by an outgoing National Security Advisor Susan Rice to document why there have been multiple false and misleading statements given to the incoming President Trump and all of his officials.

This is not a “CYA” memo, this is a justification memo for use AFTER the Trump-Russia collusion/conspiracy narrative collapsed; if the impeachment effort failed.

The “By The Book” aspect refers to President Obama and Susan Rice being told by CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, that President Trump was the subject of an active counterintelligence investigation to determine if he was under the influence of the Russian government.

Even the timing of the memo, written 15 minutes prior to the end of the Obama administration, is ex-post-facto useful as evidence of the author’s intent.

Put aside the nonsense aspect to the origination of the investigation for a moment; that part doesn’t apply here…. Accept their position ‘as if’ it is substantive.

We are talking about Brennan, Comey, Clapper and Yates telling President Obama and NSA Susan Rice that President-elect Trump is under a counterintelligence investigation where the suspicion is that Donald J Trump is an agent of a foreign power.

Under that auspices (fraudulent though it may be) the incoming President is a counterintelligence investigation target. A potentially compromised Russian asset. Under this auspices all of the officials would be permitted to lie and mislead their target, so long as they did so “By The Book.”

That’s their justification for a lengthy series of lies and false statements.

That’s why FBI Director James Comey can lie to the President and tell him he’s not the target of the ongoing Russia investigation. That’s the justification for keeping the accusations inside the Steele Dossier (remember, the Dossier is evidence) from the President-elect. That’s the justification for all of the officials to lie to President Trump, and even mislead the media if needed.

The Susan Rice email is one big Justification Letter; setting the stage for all of the participants to have a plausible reason for lies to anyone and everyone.

Call out John Brennan for telling Harry Reid about the Steele Dossier during his gang-of-eight briefing, but not telling Go8 member Devin Nunes about it. Brennan escapes by saying Nunes was on the Trump transition team; and briefing a conflicted politician on the dossier would have compromised the FBI investigation. See how that works?

Call out James Comey for lying to President-elect Trump during the January 6th Trump Tower meeting…. Comey escapes by saying Trump was a target of the FBI investigation for potential compromise as a Russian asset; informing the target of the evidence against him would have compromised the investigation. See how that works?

Every lie, every omission, every false and/or misleading statement, must first be filtered through the “By The Book” prism of Trump being considered a Russian asset. This is the justification trap democrats are waiting to exploit for maximum damage and diminishment of counter attack.

The “By the Book” justification, where every action could have been taken because Trump might have been an actual Russian operative, is the weapon under the camouflage tarp as the radical left lures-in their political opposition. They shrug their shoulders and say in condescending voice: ‘well, we didn’t know; we had to be prudent‘, etc.

Getting outraged about the Obama administration’s lies, misstatements and fabrications can backfire if you don’t first think about it from their constructed frame-of-reference.

The ‘By-the-Book’ framework is based on a false-premise; but the action, just about any action, taken to mislead (even undermine) the incoming administration is excusable under this carefully crafted justification memo. That’s exactly why Susan Rice wrote it; and each of the participating members knows they can use it, when needed.

The way to get around the legal and political defense inside this justification memo is to ignore the activity of those protected by it and go directly to the origin of how they created that false premise in the first place:

♦ President Trump can prove the July 31st, 2016, Crossfire Hurricane counterintelligence operation originated from a scheme within the intelligence apparatus by exposing the preceding CIA operation that created the originating “Electronic Communication” memo. Declassify that two-page “EC” document that Brennan gave to Comey.  [The trail is found within the Weissmann report and the use of Alexander Downer – SEE HERE]

♦ Release and declassify all of the Comey memos that document the investigative steps taken  by the FBI as an outcome of the operation coordinated by CIA Director John Brennan in early 2016.  [The trail was memorialized by James Comey – SEE HERE]

♦ Reveal the November 2015 through April 2016 FISA-702 search query abuse by declassifying the April 2017 court opinion written by FISC Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer. Show the FBI contractors behind the 85% fraudulent search queries. [Crowdstrike? Fusion-GPS? Nellie Ohr? Daniel Richman?]  The was a weaponized surveillance and domestic political spying operation. [The trail was laid down in specific detail by Judge Collyer – SEE HERE]

♦ Subpoena former DOJ-NSD (National Security Division) head John Carlin, or haul him in front of a grand jury, and get his testimony about why he hid the abuse from the FISA court in October 2016; why the DOJ-NSD rushed the Carter Page application to beat NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers to the FISA court; and why Carlin quit immediately thereafter. Squeeze this bastard’s nuts in the proverbial legal vice.

♦ Prove the Carter Page FISA application (October 2016) was fraudulent and based on deceptions to the FISA Court. Declassify the entire document, and release the transcripts of those who signed the application(s); and/or depose those who have not yet testified. The creation of the Steele Dossier was the cover-up operation. [SEE HERE]

♦ Release all of the Lisa Page and Peter Strzok text messages without redactions. Let sunlight pour in on the actual conversation(s) that were taking place when Crossfire Hurricane (July ’16) and the FISA Application (Oct ’16) were taking place.  The current redactions were made by the people who weaponized the intelligence system for political surveillance and spy operation.  This is why Page and Strzok texts are redacted!

♦ Release all of Bruce Ohr 302’s, FBI notes from interviews and debriefing sessions, and other relevant documents associated with the interviews of Bruce Ohr and his internal communications. Including exculpatory evidence that Bruce Ohr may have shared with FBI Agent Joseph Pientka. [And get a deposition from this Pientka fella] Bruce Ohr is the courier, carrying information from those outside to those on the inside.

♦ Release the August 2nd, 2017, two-page scope memo provided by DAG Rod Rosenstein to special counsel Robert Mueller to advance the fraudulent Trump investigation, and initiate the more purposeful obstruction of justice investigation. Also Release the October 20th, 2017, second scope memo recently discovered.  The Scope Memos are keys to unlocking the underlying spy/surveillance cover-up. [SEE HERE and SEE HERE]

I have a somewhat different take on this……

OK…..someone comes forward and says: We bugged your Office.
Then another says: We had this person act as our mole.

Then on each occasion say; Well…where are the bugs, who is the mole?
After each admittance say. “Thank you….we will get back to you”

Let them give it all away showing “No” outrage. Then de-classify the entire shooting match…

You just had them “Admit” all they did…….except for the real truth and exhibited zero out rage.

The only fly in this ointment wouldpbe Congress…..They will be screaming for hearings and fake outrage……

Heck, we may get some players we did not know about….

On a side note my “curious cat” woke up on this Mrs. Pence’s Chief of Staff business.
To me, they are trying to make Pence an “ innocent “ victim.

    I ain’t buying it.

    • There is no way in Hell that Vice President Pence is a party to any of this! NO WAY!

He is completely loyal to President Trump and absolutely would not participate in a coup, not even unwittingly – that did not and will not happen! Your suspicions … “curious cat” …. are unfounded.

Gunny, my curious cat went on red alert by another name that is consistently MIA from the reporting on this investigation. VP Joe Biden was in attendance at the Jan. 5, 2017 meeting – the meeting which was memorialized by Susan Rice on Jan. 20, 2017 at 12:15pm: the “by the book” meeting, and the subsequent Rice “memo to self”.

Somehow, former VP and Cheerleader Extraordinaire Uncle Joe Biden, has managed to keep a very low profile through the unveiling of all the treacherous O Admin activity. Did the perps keep Joe at arms length to preserve his viability for higher office? Did they keep him on the outer edge of the loop because he’s an idiotic blabber mouth show-off with terrible judgement?

OR, has Uncle Joe been sitting off stage in the wings, waiting to see how much the various investigations (SC formal investigation vs those of private citizens) would reveal to the public-at-large?

Is the newly declared Dem Presidential Candidate, former VP Joe Biden, running to win the POTUS Office in order to protect the worst of the treasonous activity from full disclosure to the public, since it has been successfully slow-walked by government officials thus far. *I’m looking at you, Mitch & Co.

What did newly declared Democrat Presidential Candidate Joe Biden know, when did he know it, and what has been the level of his own participation in the nefarious activity to unseat President Trump?

I am neither one way or another on Pence, YET. But, since you brought up Sessions, it seems relevant to look at Sessions former chief of staff; one of PDJT’s most ardent supporters, and a terrific weapon for beating up the leftists.
Point being, Chief of Staff doesn’t neccesarily mean “same as”.
Second point, Stroxz Page, etc. Apperently didn’t follow through on this plan, perhaps because they detirmined the target for recruitment would NOT be ‘receptive’, indicating this person is just the kind of person we want IN the administration?

        • As I said, the left has used condescension and their hubris has become so blatant that people have been turned off.

I do appreciate substantiation and support the need to be skeptical and to not presume anyone is immune, but someone’s first hand relationship with someone is a real piece of evidence as well and comments like, “You are about to go up against a whole lot of Pence supporters”, inserted with clear derision, is classic Never Trumper vernacular.

I know that this little explanation risks also sounding condescending and sorry about that.

It’s just that we have become rather ‘triggered’ by continued reference to our deplorable status and to calls to basically not just dismiss us but actually persecute us because we are gullible, easily misled.

Pence can change his mind, just as Levin did, just as Cruz did, just as many Never Trumpers did.

I emphasize Planned Parenthood, because it is an organization, worldwide that is one of the favorite causes and allies of the globalists; and just as Abby Johnson was threatened in the movie, when you are going up against them it is a vast power cabal that you have opposed. For Pence to have been a supporter throughout of stopping them is an indication to some of us that he is not so tight with the swamp. Planned Parenthood is even allowed to sit on the government board that allocates money to…them.

Before being put in charge of transition team,

The keys for the Transition Office went directly from Pence to McDonough not to Chris Christie, who was in actual charge of the transition team.
The “Kremlin Connection” email to Jeff Sessions’ office started the wiretaps on the Trump Campaign for President. The an e-mail was sent from the Transition Office stating the Russians were the connection sources of all of this.

        2. Put in charge of pushing bills through Congress. How did that work out?
        3. Put in charge of eliminating voter fraud. This was during the Georgia special election. How did that work out?

        7. Now he is in charge of Space Exploration….has he said anything about that?
        8. Pence was placed as Vice President by the RNC.. This is a tradition for decades, like the DNC picks the VP. Then Preibus is picked as Chief of Staff. How did that work out?

North Korea hit out at US Vice President Mike Pence calling him “ignorant and stupid” as the reclusive state made a renewed threat to cancel an upcoming summit between the two countries.

“I cannot suppress my surprise at such ignorant and stupid remarks gushing out from the mouth of the US vice-president,” she said in the statement.

I imagine PDJT is going through that right now — trying to do the best for America and being attacked about things he knows nothing about. PDJT as a Russian “asset” is laughable, but 0bama as a MB asset is probable!

You need an example to give to family/ friends that they understand.

Maybe a simple example: a judge kills a person in his own home. He takes the body and plants it in the house next door. He calls the police and turns the person in. He helps the police investigate his neighbor. He knows the neighbor had issues with the man, he has guns, he has a temper, etc. it goes to trial. It looks like a slam dunk until one investigor says the carpet fibers on the dead person were from the judges house. It is all based on a lie.

The investigation of President Trump was based on such a story. The dossier was all a lie to get this started and the people investigating knew it.

I was thinking as well that this is somewhat like a murder mystery. The “dead body” is the Mueller report. One of the first things investigators do is create a timeline. Who said/texted what on what date? What did they say after that date? Is it verifiable? Is it a comment or an official record? Where was the opportunity, what weapon was used, and what was the motive?

Where’s Columbo when you need him?!

And the judge say’s yes he was at my house today rolling around on my carpet but he left alive.

EXACTLY. Which is why you don’t confront the Judge, with the carpet fibers, until AFTER he states, categorically that the murder victim has NEVER been in his house.
Only THEN do you say, “O.k., then how do you explain THIS?” and confront him with the carpet fiber evidence.
Hence, FIRST let them spring their justification trap defence, THEN refute it.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks the irony of this scandal is out of control.

If ever there was a presidential candidate/elect who should have received increased scrutiny as possibly disloyal to the U.S. it is the person at the top of this scandal.

Obama pays millions to keep his history and paper trail hidden. His grandparents were avowed commies. Frank Marshal Davis, a commie, was his ah umm “mentor” or something. He documented his affinity for the lightweight, deadbeat radical poseurs in college. Jarrett has a family history of commies. Plus Ayres and the chicago crew. He salted the bureaucracy with America haters. His national security advisor and cia director was a commie. On and on.

Obama made it to the presidency without portfolio. His official actions as president to govern all citizens fairly is questionable given his abuse of the IRS. His embrace of all things muslim and otherwise anti-American, particularly abroad is dubious at best.

If ever a president could legitimately be suspected of being loyal to something other than America it is obama. It’s not too late to get to the bottom of exactly who obama was/is. It’s more than being “prudent.”

          The media, at SOME point in the future, are going to have to ‘own up’to their active complicity in this massive con perpetrated on the public, and roughly 30-50%of the public are going to have to face reality;

The ploys and playbook that has worked for the Dems, for so many years, simply doesn’t work, and they keep trying the same plays, over and over and expecting different results.

Interesting about Pence. I posted this on the thread about Jesse Liu recently.
    Ok here’s another theory.
If you read the NY Times treasonous op-ed it mentions a collective “we” — more than one person – who are in “collusion” subverting parts of POTUS’ plan. That letter came out, if not mistaken, before the McCabe claims about RR and the 25th amendment and actually mentions two cabinet members that were on board.

These two cabinet members are in league together enough, close enough, to trust each other implicitly. They have to have a bond in common. They have a history.

I believe one or both of the two cabinet members helped or had help writing the op-ed with Jessie Liu. As someone else here noted, and I agree, the emdashes in the style of writing give away Jesse Liu as a likely part-contributing writer of the letter. IMO, one of the two cabinet members, and a likely contributing writer of the op-ed, is Elaine Chou. A Bush establishment republican married to another establishment republican who can, when and if the POTUS’ popularity dives below 33%, can impeach POTUS. The purpose of such op-ed pieces among other things, is to try and push POTUS’ ratings down so an impeachment is possible. They are failing miserably, of course, but if kept in power, they will keep on trying.

Now who is the other cabinet member besides Elaine Chou that was “on board” according to RR to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove POTUS if it were possible?

Liu was recommended by POTUS. But who recommended her to him? Who put her on the transition team? Wouldn’t that be the person in charge of the transition team? The same person who is still there in the WH? The same person who has a large input in hiring and firing people?

But there is another tell in the writing style of the op-ed that gives away the other contributing writer…..the other cabinet member:

Pence is and has been directly involved in hiring and firing decisions, ala Flynn. If Trump is as the Lord’s David, then Pence is his Absalom, his “right hand’ man. Pence stands to benefit the most if Trump is impeached.
And so does the Uniparty establishment.

According to DiGenova the FISA court already notified the DOJ Barr about not only lies used but more importantly that beginning in 2012 – four (4) private contractors accessed the SCIF compartment without any security clearance whatsoever. These 4 private ‘contractors’ collected and swiped information about republicans only.

Now president Trump did not enter the campaign until 2015 meaning what’s their excuse for illegal spying by private contractors accessing and collecting everything they could about republicans.

AG Barr is in possession of the FISA court complaint/charge and I’m sure will take action.

  35. The way to deal with this trap is don’t get into conversations about the issues WITHOUT having ANY of this crowd under criminal indictment!!!!!! Once Comey, Brennan, McCabe, Yates and Rice are back on their heels, playing defense for a change (that’s what criminal indictments do), it will level the playing field and make them more circumspect about HOW they answer or respond to questions. Also, like in the case of Republicans who were under criminal indictment, any Federal Judge should and would slap a gag order on these future felons. They won’t be able to talk about it anywhere, or face worse criminal sanctions. The bottom line is, INDICT SOMEONE FOR GODS SAKE!!!!

So his chief of staff and wife to the Russian investigation..connection, despite her a serious matter. Pence needs to be looked at…Flynn was knocked because of Pences statements. This is too much of a coincidence..The trump campaign was not embedded with was saturated with them..and help from the inside would also be pivotal.

      • beach lover says:

But throughout the set up and the entire 2 years, RR was getting updates from Mueller. That was the responsibility of the SP appointment. Mueller was not independent like previous investigations. He supposedly had to report how the things were getting discounted. Take the collusion delusion first and foremost.. was known and discounted from the start. Why did RR let it go on?

        • lfhbrave says:

RR and Mueller can easily explain away why they didn’t stop. For example, the fact that Mueller/FBI raid Cohen’s office in April 2018 could now be used as evidence that they were stilling “investigating” collusion alleged in the dossier in 2018.

To me “genesis” is the absolute beginning and need not be contained so it is up to Barr to determine where he now sees the genesis. If we are seeing beginnings to include but not limited to misuse of the NSA and even IRS databaseS, he can surely see it and where that has led. I’m trying to stay hopeful…or maybe just on the wrong track. Simplest way to handle it, Barr can provide no info due to a ongoing investigation.

    • Dutchman says:

I think there are 2 courts this is and will continue to play out in; Criminal courts, and the court of Public Opinion.

And, there is a LOT of crossover, and BOTH need to be taken into account.
For instance, if we have trials, in which defendants present defences of ‘just following orders’, ‘what wiuld you have us do, we thought Trump was a,Russian agent’, and ‘this is political persecution’, and those defences fail in court (guilty convictions all around) but RESONATE in the court of public opinion, we lose.

And, one interface between the two courts is JURIES. By getting these defences out into the court of public opinion, they are tainting the jury pool.

‘We’ need to WIN in BOTH courts entirely. Anything less, in either court will be embraced by those clinging to TDS, to the detriment of the Republic.

“The entire time all of these blockbuster outrages are being debated and analyzed in granular detail, you know what’s not being discussed?… The originating predicate.” That’s a great point. It’s up to Attorney General Barr. The country is counting on you, Sir.

  49. Dutchman says:

I get the danger of the justification trap.
Seems to me this might explain NOT yet releasing the declassified documents yet.
Bear with me, for an analogy. An attempted burglary takes place, and a suspect is captured, several blocks from the scene.
He insists he is innocent, and under questioning insists he was never in, or anywhere NEAR the building that was being burgled, when the intruder set off the alarm, and ran away.
Then, the cops ask him “How do you explain this burglary tool found INSIDE the building, with your fingerprints on it?
So, its POSSIBLE that the strategy is LET them ‘spring’ their justification trap, and thoroughly voice it across the land, and THEN declassify and release, and say “o.k., then how do you explain THIS?”
The issue is greatly complicated by the fact we aren’t dealing with a bungled burglary, there is the court of law, and the court of public opinion.
Never the less, IF the coupists put all their eggs in the justification trap bucket, and then, in front of God and everyone you turn over the bucket, (release the documents) destroying their credibility as well as their justification, the fact that they tried such a defence is an admission of guilt.
As this unfolds, we will see many attempts at offering up a defence, and the “What would you have us do”, justification is only one.
The FBI blaming the CIA, and the CIA then saying “we were. suckered by a Russian disinformation campaign is another.
Prosecuters/LE see this all the time; defendants who are guilty will try to come up with any alternative explaination, to explain away facts and evidence of their guilt.
And, there is a standard way to deal with this, which is LET them present their bogus justification, and THEN present evidence clearly refuting their justification. In doing so, the action of presenting such bogus justification is clear evidence of guilt.
This works with a jury of 12, and will work with the jury of public opinion, as well.
Not saying this IS whats happening, just that it COULD be, and could explain why “release the kraken, NOW!” is NOT the best strategy?
After all, the documents aren’t going anywhere, whats the hurry?

Were Hillary and the DNC using the NSA database against other Republicans? I think it’s a pretty good bet.
