Senator Tom Cotton Likely to Take Final Spot within Intelligence Community Gang of Eight

One of the least understood aspects of congressional oversight is the elite group of elected politicians who are charged with congressional oversight over all intelligence activity. This highly important oversight group is called the Intelligence Community “Gang of Eight”.

A position within the Gang of Eight comes as a result of holding one of the following eight positions: 1. The Speaker of the House, 2. The Minority Leader of the House, 3. the Majority Leader of the Senate, 4. the Minority Leader of the Senate, 5. the Chairperson of the House Permanent Committee on Intelligence, 6. the minority leader from the same committee; 7. The Chairperson of the Senate Intelligence Committee and 8. the minority leader of the same committee.

With Senator Marco Rubio being pulled out of the Senate to work as Secretary of State, we have been waiting to see who would be appointed by Senate Majority Leader John Thune to be the Rubio replacement as Senate Intel Committee Chair and Go8 member. It now looks like Sea Island attendee Tom Cotton will take up position as SSCI Chair and Gang of Eight member.

WASHINGTON DC – Senate Republicans have discussed elevating Sen. John Cornyn to chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, according to party officials, a move that would hand Cornyn a prized gavel as consolation for losing his GOP leader bid and could help induce him to run for reelection in two years.

The complication, and almost certain deal-breaker: Cornyn would have to leapfrog the Republican next in line to chair the Intelligence Committee, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), and Cotton has privately made clear to Cornyn he would claim the position.

Joe Biden Addresses the Situation in Syria, as al-Qaeda and Various Factions of The Brotherhood Now Take Charge

Syria is a hot mess.  There’s only one face with a genuine smile today, Turkish Leader Recep Erdogan who has been attempting to leverage support for the “rebels” in Syria for a decade.  Through the years U.S. policy in Syria essentially armed and supported various factions of al-Qaeda, al-Nusra, and eventually Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), whose leader, Abu Mohammed al-Golani, is essentially the Defacto head of the rebels who now control it.

What happens next is anyone’s guess.  The various elements of Islamic rebellion fall under the political umbrella of the Muslim Brotherhood; however, they have yet to show an ability to effectively govern in any region or state without extreme authoritarian rule.  Odds are high that Syria will tilt in that direction and eventually fall upon the only governing mechanism they understand, Sharia Law.

Joe Biden hails the efforts of the Syrian Rebels as a victory; however, these are the same rebels we armed and then fought repeatedly -in various iterations- as an outcome of U.S policy under the Obama/Biden administration. Lessons never learned from Benghazi, Syria is a hot mess.

.

(Via Fox News) – Islamist leader Abu Mohammed al-Golani, who led a lightning offensive through Syria, has a long history of extremism despite a recent appeal to moderate policies.

[…]  Golani would cut ties with al Qaeda in 2016 and lead a merger between HTS and other Islamist groups in northwest Syria in 2017, bringing him control of territory that had fallen out of government hands during the country’s long civil war.

Rod Rosenstein’s General Counsel Now Pam Bondi’s Senate Handler

Attorney General nominee Pam Bondi is being guided through the Senate confirmation process by a lawyer named Chad Mizelle who was previously the 2017-2018 general counsel to Rod Rosenstein in Main Justice.  Within the former position at DOJ Chad Mizelle was the guy who wrote the set of scope memos that authorized the Mueller investigation…. However, I am assured by those watching, it’s no big deal.

I’m reminded of a conversation with Eric Dublier Esq, when he said, essentially, “when analyzing motives of DC lawyers, remind yourself they do the thing they are paid to do.”  The compass heading on a DC lawyer points directly to his/her bank account.  Read this entire outline to truly understand just how accurate Dublier was.

WASHINGTON DC – As Pam Bondi prepares for confirmation as attorney general, she is working with a top lawyer from President-elect Donald Trump’s first term: Chad Mizelle, formerly acting general counsel at the Department of Homeland Security.

[…] Mizelle has been in meetings with Bondi in Florida as she prepares to lead the Justice Department, according to a person with knowledge of the preparations. At the beginning of Trump’s first term, he was counsel to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

[…] Mizelle is general counsel for Affinity Partners, the investment firm helmed by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. And like Bondi, he has Florida roots: Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, his wife, is a Trump-appointed federal judge in Tampa. (read more)

After Mizelle left Main Justice, he eventually landed as acting General Counsel for DHS helping to organize the legal framework to deal with illegal immigration. It’s likely Mizelle is assisting Pam Bondi in preparations for questions about deportation proceedings that will be handled by Tom Homan.

Defense Secretary Nominee Pete Hegseth Vows to Stay on Mission as Senate Navigates Tear Down against Will of The People

In the bigger picture, the U.S. Senate has been operating to control the military against the command of the President for multiple years.  The Intelligence Community is in general alignment with the core mission of weakening the Defense Department as part of the larger objective.

We have seen this approach in everything from the castration of General Petraeus to the advancement of wokeism.  The civilian leadership of the Defense Department, in combination with the influence of the U.S. Senate has led to a diminishment of mission priority. We have the outcomes through General Mattis, General H.R. McMaster, Lt Col Alexander Vindman, General James Kelly, all the way to Joint Chief’s Chairman Mark Milley; famously culminating in Milley collaborating with Chinese military leadership to undermine his own Commander-In-Chief, Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump has turned his focus to the “war fighters,” the men and women who carry out the mission objective of the Defense Department. The nomination of Pete Hegseth represents the confrontation of a power struggle that has been decades in coming.

The self-serving Senators are trying to block Hegseth, while maintaining a position of pretending support for President Trump.  The DeceptiCon republicans in the Senate are in full circling mode, looking for a weakness to exploit.

.

According to Hegseth he is firm on the mission priority.  President Trump is in full support and the schemes of the conniving Republican Senators, transparently visible in the efforts of Senator Jodi Ernst, who is circling the phalanx President Trump is creating – while simultaneously inserting herself into the DOGE mission.  Ernst is doing Mitch’s work, under the instructions from Thune and Mitch.  See Ernst with clear eyes.

SSCI Member Mike Rounds Says President Trump Can Nominate Kash Patel and the Senate Will Consider Him

Senate Select Committee on Intelligence member Mike Rounds doesn’t sound too enthusiastic about Kash Patel in the role of FBI director.  In an interview this morning on ABC, the Republican senator from South Dakota said President Trump has the right to nominate Mr Patel, and the Senate will consider the “consent” from there.  WATCH:

Several people are wondering if current FBI Director Chris Wray will resign.  It’s a very unusual dynamic and the internal pressure will likely be on Director Wray to force President Trump to fire him, especially if the House and Senate are in session and there’s no possibility at the time for President Trump to appoint an “acting” replacement.

A lot can happen with President Trump announcing Kash Patel “will serve as” FBI Director, while a current FBI Director is still in place.  Without the ability to appoint an “acting” replacement, the Deputy FBI director would take Wray’s place even if Wray was fired.  Mike Rounds expresses full confidence in Chris Wray during this interview.

President Trump Announces Kash Patel “Will Serve As” FBI Director

I have not been this stunned, surprised, shocked or taken aback since President-Elect Donald Trump announced Matt Gaetz as the next United States Attorney General.

Using his Truth Social account to capture attention, President Donald Trump announces, “Kashyap “Kash” Patel will serve as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.”

[Source]

As interesting as the announcement is, so too is the wording President Trump selected; not “nominated“, not “appointed,” a simple “will serve as“… Thereby leaving the maximum amount of interpretability available for the consumer of the announcement.

This has to be the most Trumpian announcement in the history of some very Trumpian announcements.

FBI Director Christopher Wray has approximately two years left on his term, and he has not announced his resignation. It should also be noted President-Elect Donald Trump did not say anything about firing Chris Wray, which would be in bad form considering that President Trump couldn’t even entertain the approach until he is officially inaugurated in January.

That dynamic quickly triggered the FBI to respond with: “Every day, the men and women of the FBI continue to work to protect Americans from a growing array of threats. Director Wray’s focus remains on the men and women of the FBI, the people we do the work with, and the people we do the work for.

Zelenskyy Thinks He Has Options, While Putin Has an Undiscussed Weapon that Trump Will Navigate

In the world of geopolitics created by the U.S. Dept of State and CIA, the pretending is thick.

A recent report has Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy now offering to give up territory to Russian President Vladimir Putin in exchange for NATO membership for the remaining portion. The story is sold by western media as if Zelenskyy has options, he doesn’t. However, Putin has a very strong weapon that President Trump has to navigate with a team of people around U.S. policy that are tenuous at best. Let’s discuss without the pretending.

Start with a Politico Article HERE, that frames the entry of President Donald Trump as the wildcard that has everyone, according to the DC narrative, rushing to get the best position in the final weeks before Trump’s arrival.

The DC narrative is that Russia is trying to maximize their land gains, while Zelenskyy and the NATO allies attempt to position for the least losses possible before they are forced to start peace talks.

It’s a little stunning that Washington DC is saying in advance of inauguration day that bloodshed stops, a ceasefire is imminent, and peace negotiations are a foregone conclusion, without President-elect Donald Trump even lifting his chin.

Apparently, and keep in mind this is the narrative of Washington DC, all President Trump needs to do is take his hand off the bible on January 20th and mysteriously global conflict comes to a screeching halt.

All things accepted and considered; the word “remarkable” is not adequate for that DC perspective.  If that administrative state perspective doesn’t just encapsulate the scale of Donald Trump, I don’t know what could.

If global conflict stops or diminishes simply by changing a U.S. president, then who exactly is responsible for global conflict and escalation? I digress…

Next, we enter the perspective of Volodymyr Zelenskyy as newly espoused.

The New York Post [Article Here], where Zelenskyy tells Sky News, “If we want to stop the hot stage of the war, we should take under [the] NATO umbrella the territory of Ukraine that we have under our control. That’s what we need to do fast, and then Ukraine can get back the other part of its territory diplomatically.”  Again, in this context, “fast” is the timetable in Zelenskyy’s mind, before President Trump shows up.

The proverbial “west,” which includes the White House, the CIA, NATO, the EU and the U.S. State Department are all trying to figure out their best exit from bloodshed and war, via a crisis they created a decade ago when they carried out the Maidan color Revolution in Ukraine, ultimately installing Volodymyr Zelenskyy.  The intellectually honest observers of events, that’s the non-pretending group, readily admit this is exactly what happened.

Charlie Kirk and Glenn Greenwald Discuss the Unspoken Power of the DNI

Keep pushing the TRUTH folks; just keep pushing.  I’m going to call this a ‘win’ because this is the first time I have seen an accurate discussion of the little-known power of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).

More than two decades ago, it was a commonly accepted discussion point that the intelligence apparatus within government was a system of intensely protective silos of information.  Heck, the entire precept behind the creation of the ODNI was to put one person into a position of perspective above all the other silos.  However, when those silos were weaponized by The Lightbringer it became verboten to discuss it.

In this interview and discussion, Charlie Kirk and Glenn Greenwald discuss the possibilities available to Tulsi Gabbard in the position of DNI.  For the first time the context of the actual power within the office begins to surface.  WATCH:

The DNI office has never been used for its intent. Washington DC created the modern national security apparatus immediately and hurriedly after 9/11/01.  DHS came along in 2002, and within the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 the ODNI was formed

The ODNI was formed in 2004, with the intent for the office to be the pivot point of a national security radar.   The DNI was intended to provide information to domestic agencies about foreign terror networks that would prevent something like 9-11 from happening again.  However, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has never, not for one day, operated on this intent.   This is why they are such a critical position from my perspective.
