The Obama Use of FISA-702 as a Domestic Political Surveillance Program….

Now that we have significant research files on the 2015 and 2016 political surveillance program; which includes the trail evident within the Weissmann/Mueller report; in combination with the Obama-era DOJ “secret research project” (their words, not mine); we are able to overlay the entire objective and gain a full understanding of how political surveillance was conducted over a period of approximately four to six years.

Working with a timeline, but also referencing origination material in 2015/2016 – CTH hopes to show how the program operated.  This explains an evolution from The IRS Files in 2010 to the FISA Files in 2016.

The FISA-702 database extraction process, and utilization of the protections within the smaller intelligence community, was the primary process.  We start by reviewing the established record from the 99-page FISC opinion rendered by Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer on April 26th, 2017; and explain the details within the FISC opinion.

I would strongly urge everyone to read the FISC report (full pdf below) because Judge Collyer outlines how the DOJ, which includes the FBI, had an “institutional lack of candor” in responses to the FISA court.  In essence, they were continually lying to the court about their activity, and the rate of fourth amendment violations for illegal searches and seizures of U.S. persons’ private information for multiple years.

Unfortunately, due to intelligence terminology Judge Collyer’s brief and ruling is not an easy read for anyone unfamiliar with the FISA processes outlined. The complexity also helps the media avoid discussing, and as a result most Americans have no idea the scale and scope of the issues.  So we’ll try to break down the language.

.

For the sake of brevity and common understanding CTH will highlight the most pertinent segments showing just how systemic and troublesome the unlawful electronic surveillance was.

Early in 2016 NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers was alerted of a significant uptick in FISA-702(17) “About” queries using the FBI/NSA database that holds all metadata records on every form of electronic communication.

The NSA compliance officer alerted Admiral Mike Rogers who then initiated a full compliance audit on/around March 9th, 2016, for the period of November 1st, 2015, through May 1st, 2016.

While the audit was ongoing, due to the severity of the results that were identified, Admiral Mike Rogers stopped anyone from using the 702(17) “about query” option, and went to the extraordinary step of blocking all FBI contractor access to the database on April 18, 2016 (keep these dates in mind).

Here are some significant segments:

The key takeaway from these first paragraphs is how the search query results were exported from the NSA database to users who were not authorized to see the material.  The FBI contractors were conducting searches and then removing, or ‘exporting’, the results.  Later on, the FBI said all of the exported material was deleted.

Searching the highly classified NSA database is essentially a function of filling out search boxes to identify the user-initiated search parameter and get a return on the search result.

FISA-702(16) is a search of the system returning a U.S. person (“702”); and the “16” is a check box to initiate a search based on “To and From“.   Example, if you put in a date and a phone number and check “16” as the search parameter the user will get the returns on everything “To and From” that identified phone number for the specific date.  Calls, texts, contacts etc.  Including results for the inbound and outbound contacts.

FISA-702(17) is a search of the system returning a U.S. person (702); and the “17” is a check box to initiate a search based on everything “About” the search qualifier.  Example, if you put a date and a phone number and check “17” as the search parameter the user will get the returns of everything about that phone.  Calls, texts, contacts, geolocation (or gps results), account information, user, service provider etc.  As a result, 702(17) can actually be used to locate where the phone (and user) was located on a specific date or sequentially over a specific period of time which is simply a matter of changing the date parameters.

And that’s just from a phone number.

Search an ip address “about” and read all data into that server; put in an email address and gain everything about that account. Or use the electronic address of a GPS enabled vehicle (about) and you can withdraw more electronic data and monitor in real time.  Search a credit card number and get everything about the account including what was purchased, where, when, etc.  Search a bank account number, get everything about transactions and electronic records etc.  Just about anything and everything can be electronically searched; everything has an electronic ‘identifier’.

The search parameter is only limited by the originating field filled out.  Names, places, numbers, addresses, etc. By using the “About” parameter there may be thousands or millions of returns.  Imagine if you put “@realdonaldtrump” into the search parameter? You could extract all following accounts who interacted on Twitter, or Facebook etc.  You are only limited by your imagination and the scale of the electronic connectivity.

As you can see below, on March 9th, 2016, internal auditors noted the FBI was sharing “raw FISA information, including but not limited to Section 702-acquired information”.

In plain English the raw search returns were being shared with unknown entities without any attempt to “minimize” or redact the results.  The person(s) attached to the results were named and obvious.  There was no effort to hide their identity or protect their 4th amendment rights of privacy:

But what’s the scale here?  This is where the story really lies.

Read this next excerpt carefully.

The operators were searching “U.S Persons”.  The review of November 1, 2015,  to May 1, 2016, showed “eighty-five percent of those queries” were unlawful or “non compliant”.

85% !!  “representing [redacted number]”.

We can tell from the space of the redaction the number of searches were between 1,000 and 9,999 [five digits].  If we take the middle number of 5,000 – that means 4,250 unlawful searches out of 5,000.

The [five digit] amount (more than 1,000, less than 10,000), and 85% error rate, was captured in a six month period.

Also notice this very important quote: “many of these non-compliant queries involved the use of the same identifiers over different date ranges.”   So they were searching the same phone number, email address, electronic “identifier”, or people, repeatedly over different dates.  Specific people were being tracked/monitored.

Additionally, notice the last quote: “while the government reports it is unable to provide a reliable estimate of” these non lawful searches “since 2012, there is no apparent reason to believe the November 2015 [to] April 2016 coincided with an unusually high error rate”.

That means the 85% unlawful FISA-702(16)(17) database abuse has likely been happening since 2012.  (Again, remember that date, 2012) Who was FBI Director? Who was his chief-of-staff? Who was CIA Director? ODNI? etc.  Remember, the NSA is inside the Pentagon (Defense Dept) command structure.  Who was Defense Secretary? And finally, who wrote and signed-off-on the January 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment?

Tens of thousands of searches over four years (since 2012), and 85% of them are illegal.  The results were extracted for?…. (I believe this is all political opposition use; and I’ll explain why momentarily.)

OK, that’s the stunning scale; but who was involved?

Private contractors with access to “raw FISA information that went well beyond what was necessary to respond to FBI’s requests“:

And as noted, the contractor access was finally halted on April 18th, 2016.

[Coincidentally (or not), the wife of Fusion-GPS founder Glenn Simpson, Mary Jacoby, goes to the White House the next day on April 19th, 2016.]

None of this is conspiracy theory.

All of this is laid out inside this 99-page opinion from FISC Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer who also noted that none of this FISA abuse was accidental in a footnote on page 87:  “deliberate decisionmaking“:

Summary of this aspect: The FISA court identified and quantified tens-of-thousands of search queries of the NSA/FBI database using the FISA-702(16)(17) system.  The database was repeatedly used by persons with contractor access who unlawfully searched and extracted the raw results without redacting the information and shared it with an unknown number of entities.

The outlined process certainly points toward a political spying and surveillance operation; and we are not the only one to think that’s what this system is being used for.

Back in 2017 when House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes was working to reauthorize the FISA legislation, Nunes wrote a letter to ODNI Dan Coats about this specific issue:

SIDEBAR: To solve the issue, well, actually attempt to ensure it never happened again, NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers eventually took away the “About” query option permanently in 2017. NSA Director Rogers said the abuse was so inherent there was no way to stop it except to remove the process completely. [SEE HERE]  Additionally, the NSA database operates as a function of the Pentagon, so the Trump administration went one step further.  On his last day as NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers -together with ODNI Dan Coats- put U.S. cyber-command, the database steward, fully into the U.S. military as a full combatant command. [SEE HERE]

There is little doubt the FISA-702(16)(17) database system was used by Obama-era officials, from 2012 through April 2016, as a way to spy on their political opposition.  Quite simply there is no other intellectually honest explanation for the scale and volume of database abuse that was taking place.

When we reconcile what was taking place and who was involved, then the actions of the exact same principle participants take on a jaw-dropping amount of clarity.

All of the action taken by CIA Director Brennan, FBI Director Comey, ODNI Clapper and Defense Secretary Ashton Carter make sense.  Including their effort to get NSA Director Mike Rogers fired.

Everything after March 9th, 2016, was done to cover up the weaponization of the FISA database. [Explained Here]  Spygate, Russia-Gate, the Steele Dossier, and even the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (drawn from the dossier and signed by the above) were needed to create a cover-story and protect themselves from discovery of this four year weaponization, political surveillance and unlawful spying.  Even the appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel makes sense; he was FBI Director when this began.

The beginning decision to use FISA(702) as a domestic surveillance and political spy mechanism appears to have started in/around 2012. Perhaps sometime shortly before the 2012 presidential election and before John Brennan left the White House and moved to CIA.  However, there was an earlier version of data assembly that preceded this effort.

Political spying 1.0 was actually the weaponization of the IRS.  This is where the term “Secret Research Project” originated as a description from the Obama team.  It involved the U.S. Department of Justice under Eric Holder and the FBI under Robert Mueller.  It never made sense why Eric Holder requested over 1 million tax records via CD ROM, until overlaying the timeline of the FISA abuse:

The IRS sent the FBI “21 disks constituting a 1.1 million page database of information from 501(c)(4) tax exempt organizations, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.” The transaction occurred in October 2010 (link)

Why disks?  Why send a stack of DISKS to the DOJ and FBI when there’s a pre-existing financial crimes unit within the IRS.  All of the evidence within this sketchy operation came directly to the surface in early spring 2012.

The IRS scandal was never really about the IRS, it was always about the DOJ asking the IRS for the database of information.  That is why it was transparently a conflict when the same DOJ was tasked with investigating the DOJ/IRS scandal.  Additionally, Obama sent his chief-of-staff Jack Lew to become Treasury Secretary; effectively placing an ally to oversee/cover-up any issues.  As Treasury Secretary Lew did just that.

Lesson Learned – It would appear the Obama administration learned a lesson from attempting to gather a large opposition research database operation inside a functioning organization large enough to have some good people that might blow the whistle.

The timeline reflects a few months after realizing the “Secret Research Project” was now worthless (June 2012), they focused more deliberately on a smaller network within the intelligence apparatus and began weaponizing the FBI/NSA database.

How this all comes together in 2019

Fusion GPS was not hired in April 2016 to research Donald Trump.  As shown in the evidence provided by the FISC, the intelligence community was already doing surveillance and spy operations. The Obama administration already knew everything about the Trump campaign, and were monitoring everything by exploiting the FISA database.

However, after the NSA alerts in/around March 9th, 2016, and particularly after the April 18th shutdown of contractor access, the Obama intelligence community needed Fusion GPS to create a legal albeit ex post facto justification for the pre-existing surveillance and spy operations.  Fusion GPS gave them that justification in the Steele Dossier.

That’s why the FBI small group, which later transitioned into the Mueller team, are so strongly committed to and defending the formation of the Steele Dossier and its dubious content.  The Steele Dossier contains the cover-story and justification for the surveillance operation.

During a rather innocuous podcast discussion panel April 12th, 2019, one of President Trump’s personal lawyers Jay Sekulow mentioned the FBI had three FISA applications denied by the FISA court in 2016. [Podcast Here – Note comment at 25:05]   The denials were always suspected; however, until now no-one in/around the administration has ever confirmed.

If Sekulow is accurate, this adds additional context to the actions of the FBI in the aftermath of Admiral Mike Rogers and an increased urgency in gaining legal justification for surveillance and spy operation unlawfully taking place.  A valid FISA warrant would help the FBI cover-up the surveillance.   The likely targets were Manafort, Flynn and Papadopoulos…. but it appears the DOJ/FBI were rebuked.

These FISC denials would then initiate institutional panic dependent on the election outcome.  An insurance policy would be needed.   The Steele Dossier becomes the investigative virus the FBI wanted inside the system. To get the virus into official status, they used the FISA application as the delivery method and injected it into Carter Page. The FBI already knew Carter Page; essentially Carter Page was irrelevant, what they needed was the FISA warrant and the Dossier in the system {Go Deep}.

Fusion GPS was not hired to research Trump, the intelligence community was already doing surveillance and spy operations. The intelligence community needed Fusion GPS to give them a plausible justification for already existing surveillance and spy operations.

Fusion-GPS gave them the justification they needed for a FISA warrant with the Steele Dossier.  Ultimately that’s why the Steele Dossier is so important; without it, the DOJ and FBI are naked with their FISA-702 abuse as outlined by John Ratcliffe.

♦ Prove the July 31st, 2016, Crossfire Hurricane operation originated from fraud by exposing the CIA operation that created the originating “Electronic Communication” memo. Declassify that two-page “EC” document that Brennan gave to Comey.

♦ Release and declassify all of the Comey memos that document the investigative steps taken  by the FBI as an outcome of the operation coordinated by CIA Director John Brennan in early 2016.

♦ Reveal the November 2015 through April 2016 FISA-702 search query abuse by declassifying the April 2017 court opinion written by FISC Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer. Show the FBI contractors behind the 85% fraudulent search queries. [Crowdstrike? Fusion-GPS? Nellie Ohr?]

♦ Subpoena former DOJ-NSD (National Security Division) head John Carlin, or haul him in front of a grand jury, and get his testimony about why he hid the abuse from the FISA court in October 2016; why the DOJ-NSD rushed the Carter Page application to beat NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers to the FISA court; and why Carlin quit immediately thereafter. Squeeze this bastard’s nuts in the proverbial legal vice.

♦ Prove the Carter Page FISA application (October 2016) was fraudulent and based on deceptions to the FISA Court. Declassify the entire document, and release the transcripts of those who signed the application(s); and/or depose those who have not yet testified.

♦ Release all of the Lisa Page and Peter Strzok text messages without redactions. Let sunlight pour in on the actual conversation(s) that were taking place when Crossfire Hurricane (July ’16) and the FISA Application (Oct ’16) were taking place.

♦ Release all of Bruce Ohr 302’s, FBI notes from interviews and debriefing sessions, and other relevant documents associated with the interviews of Bruce Ohr and his internal communications. Including exculpatory evidence that Bruce Ohr may have shared with FBI Agent Joseph Pientka. [And get a deposition from this Pientka fella]

♦ Release the August 2nd, 2017, two-page scope memo provided by DAG Rod Rosenstein to special counsel Robert Mueller to advance the fraudulent Trump investigation, and initiate the more purposeful obstruction of justice investigation. Also Release the October 20th, 2017, second scope memo recently discovered.

The Obama criminals found out a lot of information about a lot of AMERICANS.
Just imagine one of them is YOU.

Had one of them been me, they would have discovered only useless information…..my grandchildren and my church are the delights of my life….I go out of my way NOT to shop at Walmart….I cut their access to me and my home by turning off cable and, yes, even the great American idol–the TV. Gotta get rid of the cell phone next.

What they don’t know about me and should hope it’s not a common marker among Amercians, is I despise their very existence and Yep, I would fight over this.

And given the opportunity, I’d love to start with Mr. mocha smooth jug ears himself. I would deny him clothing for life for his role of being such an evil yet empty suit. The real fun would be Brennan. I’d start by stitching his lips with long threads hanging on either side and would manually lift them into a smile at the repeated mention of the name “Trump.” All day long, every day. I’m sure we could find someone to fill in for me when I need a break. I got more, but they will have to listen in on my short drives in my smart car to find out.

We should all fight back when push comes to shove, and as far as I’m concerned, shove is here folks.

My blood is BOILING. If your isn’t, you haven’t thought this through very well.

One of them was ME! Barry and Holder used the IRS records to identify GOP donors and shut down my bank account, in which I hadn’t bounced a check in over 30 years. The bank rep told me the bank didn’t have to have a reason to shut down my account!

A few months after transferring and opening a new bank account, I was contacted by a Federal Bank examiner for a personal interview, to ask me questions per my business.

He quickly realized I was a simply a small business owner, and at the end of the interview he stated, “there are 3rd party auditors now who are telling us what to do.”

As written and described elsewhere, Barry and Holder weaponized the Department of Treasury Criminal Investigations department to attack GOP donors and “sympathizers”.

These are Gestapo and Stasi tactics used by Hitler, the Soviets and East Germany! Trump has wasted too much time already in exposing Barry’s criminality, he’s had over two years to stuff ballot boxes across the U.S.

      He better WAKE UP QUICK!

This is only a continuation of the behavior started in 1993 by the Clintons as soon as they took over the Executive branch. In those days there were no cell phones, not much email and very little use of the internet so all the FBI had about individuals were files, plain old manila folders filled with newspaper clippings and various other pages recording rumors about potential misbehavior. Then in 1993 the Clintons had 900 of those files on political opponents delivered to the White House. The scandal was called “Filegate” and as one would expect, nothing ever happened, no one was punished, it was all just a “clerical error”.

I have no doubt that all the power the Clintons acquired since then was by their strategic use of the information contained in those files.

The FISA702 abuses of 2012 forward is simply “Filegate” on steroids because of the explosion of information technology since 1993.

You can only imagine what Hillary could have been capable of had she been elected in 2016.

And preceding Filegate, Bill Clinton forced out FBI Director William Sessions and replaced him with Louis Freeh.

William Sessions (no relation to Jeff) had ethics charges filed against him near the end of GHW Bush’s term by Bush and then AG William Barr. The ethics charges were filed shortly after W. Sessions opened an investigation concerning DOJ officials misleading a federal judge concerning a bank fraud case involving pr-Gulf War loans to Iraq.

There has been ample evidence, even long before SD’s posts (which I so appreciate!), that should have been so obvious to anybody paying attention in the many years past…which I have for decades. The blueprint was established a long time ago. BHO was the chosen one to implement a beginning cabal of the most evil, treasonous sedition and objective to fundamentally transforming America.

There have been, and there are, citizens of our nation who have been watching this evil processing of corrupt governmental subterfuge and hidden agenda for many years.

But thank SD for enlightening those who weren’t up to the history of all of this.

I will be posting my take and personal opinion and commentary on the Presidential thread of early am tomorrow morning. I hope it will expand perspective.

The most obvious to me was the murder of JFK. They made Oswald a patsy and told us to believe a story that defied the laws of physics. Most Americans knew we were being lied to but they then started the rumors of it was necessary for “national security”. FDR sold our country and Europe out to the communists with the help of the media.

It has been a long and dirty road to this nasty place we find ourselves in.

    Except…that is not happening.

Spread this excellent summary by Mr. “Sundance” to as many people as possible: send it not only to your friends and relatives and acquaintances, send it also to your senators and representatives. Send it to your state and local officials, your Governors, your Mayors, your County Prosecutors! Maybe enough people will open their eyes to these crimes that the country will demand an accounting.

We need all law makers to qualify themselves under an essential course of constitutional law. These clowns don’t even know the law most of the time and especially these days. What’s more, their oaths to protect and defend the constitution should be FAR more actionable. No law should be passed if it is recognized early on that it is unconstitutional. No member of congress should be allowed to remain if they act outside of their duties specifically defined under the constitution.

Somehow, we’ve lost our teeth when it comes to defending the constitution. And those representatives need to be removed when it is shown they are actively hostile to the continuation of this country under the US constitution.

They’d be allies, because they are interested in the truth, and civil liberties.

There ARE people on the left who care about civil liberties, and more generally about the truth. Many of them have just lost their minds. But some can still absorb facts presented to them. When confronting something SO BIG, we need as many regular people to see it as humanly possible; must always keep trying, despite the infuriating lies and denials working against it.

And in a similar vein to surveillance on Americans, Facebook has announced it has hired Jennifer Newstead for its chief counsel.

Why do I think this cannot be good?

“Appointed by President Trump as the State Department’s top legal adviser in 2017, Newstead publicly advocated for and helped oversee the reimposition of sanctions on Iran during her time at State. She is replacing outgoing general counsel Colin Stretch, who announced in July that he intended to leave Facebook at the end of last year. Before her most recent stint in government, Newstead was a partner at Davis, Polk & Wardwell LLP handling cross-border regulatory matters. She also previously served as an attorney in the George W. Bush administration and clerked for Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer. She is credited with writing portions of the Patriot Act, which expanded law enforcement’s ability to conduct surveillance in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.”

I wonder who recommended Jennifer for her State Department position?

  5. Just when I think that Sundance cannot possibly do it again- he comes up with this brilliancy, this amazing explanation for the genesis of the Coup that is destroying our Country as I write this.

Like Ausonius and others are saying, this should be on every front page of every media outlet in the WORLD, yet it’s not even close to happening.

I hope and pray always that either our President Trump himself or someone on his team is reading Sundance’s essays on a daily basis. SD is a national treasure. We need for him to have a seat at the table of Power.

Meanwhile- I strongly suggest that Sundance compile ALL that’s he’s written on this subject in the last two years (at least) and WRITE A BOOK asap. At the very least he can self publish it. Best case scenario- there might be a publisher with enough courage and brains (like whoever put out Sidney Powell’s book) who will do the job.

THIS INFORMATION IS TOO IMPORTANT to rely on chance to get it out. Our Republic is at stake.

      It is always the same.
The best solution to a complicated problem is the easiest answer.

Why were they spying on the President?
As Sundance stated, they were spying on him for much longer than we know…..They They already knew all they needed to know about him
They did not need a Special Council.
Why did they try to bring him down? They did not. They couldn’t.
      They had nothing on him.
Actually, what they did want, was for he, to bring himself down? And still do.

      The Mueller report was nothing….nothing…..
      As Sundance stated:
      The reason for all this is;
They we’re Spying on “Everybody” for years….This is what they were trying to hide.
This leads straight to Obama and Hillary.

This entire fiasco was put into place to cover up all their spying on “Everyone”

Now you can talk all you want about ramifications and such. But they did this to cover up their spying on people as far back as 2010.

And people wonder and scratch their heads on why the Congress or certain people do or not do things.

No, the surveillance is necessary to track all of US. You and me. In case they were to miss a few when they decide to de-populate the planet, by a few billion, to a more “manageable” number.

Additional action needs to be implemented, in some manner to destroy the VALUE of the information uncovered by the illegal spying. The individuals that were unmasked may be subject to coercion / blackmail and that needs to be dealt with in some way. How would you destroy the value of the information and yet protect the civil rights of the innocent (at least potentially innocent)? What say you, bright Tree House dwellers? .

The DS has the high ground, they’re winning. It seems so far, there is really no outrage, no insult, no abuse of the system and no mockery (obama loved to do that) of our side and our values that is too much.

We take it over and over and will do it again when obama and his loathsome crew skate. Barr may or may not put forth the appropriate effort. Time will tell. The media will be on him like a dirty shirt day in and day out. We’ll, oh I don’t know, read about it?

We’ll take it because the DS will insist that the show goes on. “Trillions are at stake.” I agree the Dems plan, organize, coordinate and script everything. Our side has an aversion to those ideas. Actually an aversion to winning is probably the core of it.

What we read here is about the good fight. It’s about revealing the truth about the corruption of the Left. I wish I knew what could be done about it because voting is no longer the answer. At this rate there will eventually be a Lefty/socialist president.

I believe we should come to terms with what the DS/Left means when they say “fundamentally transform” this country. They ain’t kidding around, and they ain’t gonna start playing by the rules even if they’re busted on this spying scam.

They don’t want coexistence. We shouldn’t either. We can not be governed by two diametrically opposed systems. Obama was not an anomaly, another version will be back on stage if we allow it.

SD coauthor the book with about two other patriotic MAGA authors who are also serious students of this Deep State coup. No question, if American patriots ultimately succeed in exposing the deep corruption SD outlines herein and rescuing the country from swamp infestation, SD will deserve to be listed among the most important “underground” citizen heroes and truth-revealers in this fight. So, SD likewise deserves to write his own book solo, but I suspect it would get more exposure if co-authored by a well known writer/public figure. Better yet, one of the co-authors could help to put the research and analysis into more of a narrative structure/flow.

Cursory introductions need to be introduced immediately into the secondary education curriculum level and ought to be mandatory at the initial post-secondary level. He has footnoted and anecdoted all of his sourcing for every article he ever posted; every article written, in my opinion, meets or exceeds, writing for the collegiate level. Even posted comments to those articles provide a solid starting point for Discussion Notes often following a chapter. If these criminals contributed to one American citizen, much less the POTUS, being framed and/or entrapped, they deserve being arrested publicly by SWAT teams, convicted openly in a courtroom, and executed. But they didn’t just do it to it to handful, when this can gets fully opened and the contents poured out it will be that tens of millions of citizens were surveilled and punished by the IRS, FBI, DOJ, etc. forward through these illegal schemes. The other thing to keep in mind is that – like SD regularly points out – whatever energies, skills, strategic intelligence, etc. that leftists/Democrats have . . . about 95 percent of it is devoted to scheming, narrative creation, and legalizing corruption (as opposed to promoting the general welfare of the American people).

Maxine Waters has a double digit IQ, but she uses every one of those digits on scheming. She is probably not that dumb when it comes to scheming. When some Obama insiders tell her about those parts of their larger spying and database efforts which are okay for public consumption – e.g., a sophisticated political digital marketing model – Maxine immediately starts thinking about ways to weaponize it. So maybe she did kind of know what they were up to because they were doing what she would have done given those tools at her disposal.

This whole disgusting affair has the same feel — right down to the aha moment when Turner realized that the entire scandal was about oil. Sundance’s picture of widespread, institutionalized Obama corruption and the dossier as cover up is the aha moment for this scandal.

This CANNOT be permitted to be swept under the rug by Barr. There needs to be very public perp walks followed by life sentences for every one of these Obama criminals. The institutions cannot and must not be “saved” — they need to be burned to the ground.

  10. The Steele “dossier” could not, did not and does not provide cover for the earlier FISA runaround by “FBI contractors”. That was and always will be illegal, which is why it was shut down; and it predates the false insinuations in the dossier, which could only be used to “justify” the later “Crossfire Hurricane” in July 2016.

As Sundance wrote earlier (Jan 11, 2018), the Steele dossier was “plan B”, after the FISA runaround was shut down (as so well confirmed by Mary Jacoby running to the White House the very day after the shut down):

    • …Which means, it is open knowledge, and should be front page news worldwide, that the FBI colluded, in partisan political purpose, with Fusion-GPS, BEFORE it had any justification for “investigating” candidate Trump. That a Fusion-GPS principal, Mary Jacoby, immediately ran to the White House itself proves, to any reasonable mind, that Fusion-GPS (with employee Nellie Ohr) was one of the “contractors” permitted by FBI to illegally access raw intelligence. It also proves that “POTUS wants to know everything we’re doing”, that is, Obama himself was the director of the attempted coup d’etat (which is already most strongly indicated by his position as President, over ALL of those plotters in the highest level positions of ALL those highest level agencies (CIA, DOJ, FBI, DOS, IRS, etc., etc., etc.). Obama has been openly revealed, to any with eyes to see, since April 19, 2016, certainly since Sundance revealed all of this in that January 2018 article.

What about ‘non-partisan’ institutional actors such as NSA employees and the Intelligence establishment in general? The problem is not the searching predilections of each passing administration. Of course they will vary or even better this practice will be shut down to overtly political actors and administrations, as it should be. The problem is that the totality of the world’s communications are being captured, thereby serving as a reservoir (a magnet?) for exploitation by someone. The NSA database couldn’t be illegally accessed if it didn’t exist. Like Binney says, ‘it’s all there’.

And unfortunately both parties are probably using it. Remember in late 2015 and early 2016 Fusion gps was working for Singer/Rubio. This at the same time they are looking at the raw nsa data. To think they are not sharing this with Singer is not plausible.

I also look back at when congress and Gowdy were not pressing hillary on potential illegal arm shipments from Lybia to ISIS… they were all on board with it.

Like I suggested the other day. Think of the possible things that we will never find out about. Too much money and power in DC. Until that is remedied nothing will get fixed… Barr notwithstanding.

Add all this corruption together and it makes me wonder what Obama really did with that 1.5 Billion dollars and the 1.5 Billion rounds of ammo his DHS purchased some years back. Was the ammo to be distributed to the resistance? No one has ever asked the question about the ammo. Then with Eric Holder delivering the guns it would make a strong resistance.
    Scary thought.

Some sober reflection time is required here. Consider the implications of what Sundance has posted. This is a PARTIAL list of the government officials who knowingly violated the law or knew the law was being violated by the use of the United States Government Intelligence and Surveillance capabilities to spy on their political opponents:

    The National Security Advisor
The Ambassador to the United Nations
    The Secretary of State
    The Director of National Intelligence
    The CIA Director
    The Attorney General
    The Director of the FBI
The President of the United States

And a slew of deputies and staff for each one of these positions. Forget the identities and political parties of these people for just a moment. Look at that list. These are THE PEOPLE tasked with the leadership of protecting this country. And ALL of these people betrayed their oath and broke the law for the sake of personal political and monetary gain.

Want to amplify the level of deceit and the damage this has caused and is continuing to cause? The constitutionally protected people who’s task it is to track these things and keep the American Citizens informed of what their government is doing….. they knew this and ARE HELPING TO COVER IT UP!

That’s what I’m suggesting. The ‘systemic’ part is the System itself. That it exists. That it can and will be exploited by the venal politicians who inhabit ALL political parties. Of corse don’t forget the parties altogether as Obama et al need to go to jail. Now, is the Left arguably more prone to an ends-justify-the-means mentality? Perhaps.

However this Five Eyes intelligence grid happened to come of age during the Obama tenure. Thus who was the first to exploit it? The Obama Administration. Will it be exploited again if it isn’t dismantled? Absolutely.

What makes you think Five Eyes came of age in the Obama administration?

I was hearing/reading/seeing of it in the 1990s (though it wasn’t then known as “Five Eyes”)–the U.S. government already had agreements with other governments to spy on each others’ citizens at least as far back as Clinton and I suspect through GHW Bush in the Reagan administration (though I don’t believe Reagan even knew about it).

The massive Utah Data Center came on-line too. The security state is not ushered in by any given POTUS. It arrives of its own accord.

Goes back to the beginnings of the NSA in the Truman and Eisenhower administrations. It was UKUSA at first, then Canada was added and it was called ABC (America, Britain, Canada), then Australia was added, and finally NZ in the 1980s. Nobody remembers today, but there was a real concern that NZ would ban our navy from entering its waters with nuclear weapons, so we tied NZ up with alliances and agreements. Look up UKUSA Agreement on Wikipedia. There are similar agreements for army, navy, and air force cooperation and standardization.

Dumbya Bush’s Patriot Act legalized USA spying on it’s own citizens. They no longer had to rely on their five eyes ‘partners.’ I find this interesting since John McCain and mcMuffin already hung around with ISIS leaders, so they seemed pretty well informed. Heck, the USA itself trained, funded and armed ISIS, so who needs the Patriot Act?

As long as they hide behind our flag and give it a neat name, like Patriot Act, they learned they can put anything over on us.

“Undocumented immigrants” is another beauty. Conversely, christen actual patriots with bad names (patriot=white nationalist, free speech=hate crime) and we have cultural Marxism ‘doublespeak’ in a nutshell.

I always try to bring things down to the most basic levels when I explain possible corruption in politics to my friends/acquaintances. The list you have is simply a list of human beings. NONE of them is better than you or I. Now think about how you or people you know tend to do favors and back door dealings for one reason or another amongst your network of friends. Now extrapolate that back on those people listed above and it is easy to see how this happens. These people go to all the same cocktail parties, schools, churches, etc… And it doesn’t matter which letter they have at the end of their name. It is a network of friends an colleagues that work to maintain the nucleus of their power party. They look at the white house and capital as THEIR “business/company/institution”. All of them collectively own that “business/company/institution” and will defend their hold on it as ferociously as someone who started a business that has now gone public and is being foisted out by the new BOD would attempt to retain power in their business. The problem is the “company” they run dictates who is punished and rewarded in our country. So basically, if one of them does something wrong, they won’t punish them with the law. They may just switch the location of their desk (Senator to out of office for 4 years making millions in consulting) until enough time has passed where they can have their old corner office back or an even better office (Secretary of State, AG, Secretary of Treasury, etc…).

These people control the levers of power to each and every American’s life. They can find a reason to throw EVERY one of us in jail if they see fit. We all want to believe there are good people on that hill in our nations capital, but the truth is, even the ones that go there with the best of intentions get consumed by the network (like a new kid in a school that starts out hanging out with the nerds because that’s who he truly fits in with, but do to his good looks or parents wealth he is brought in to the cool kids table and ditches the nerds) and end up nearly as corrupt as the rest of them. The old saying “Absolute power corrupts absolutely” springs to mind.

We do not have saints running our country. Unfortunately “power” tends to attract quite the opposite (demons). On top of that, when you throw in the media as an apparatus of this network, you truly blind the good citizens of the truth, keeping them pitted against each other instead of working together. While all of them continue to gain wealth, power and essentially devils horns. And they will do whatever they see fit to maintain that power. And I truly believe this is why they HATE Trump. He’s already wealthy and powerful and has no need for new “friends” so they literally have no way to control him. And now that they can’t blackmail him since it’s abundantly clear after and IC just combed through his whole life that he is squeaky clean, they are really starting to squirm. Trump is a man that came to Washington with the intent to clean up the corrupt and get America back to it’s once great status and he’s willing to take down those who have abused our nations greatest office. God Bless him and may he be ever more successful then any of us can ever hope. The irony is, most of them and I’m sure many of us, thought Trump probably had some skeletons in his closet based on following his public persona all these years. Yet he goes to Washington and he’s the straightest man there. I love it.

While the list of “job titles” you have placed above is looked upon by most citizens as impressive and honorable, those people are no different then you and I. And all of them have faults greater than or equal to you and I. Sure, we want to believe there is no way that the wrong people could possibly end up in ALL of those positions. The problem is, when there is nobody in HR to vet the new “employees” the worst of the worst find their way to the top. I don’t look at any person on this earth as holier than thou, and I suggest others do likewise.

      Sorry for my rambling…

    • chojun says:

Yes, the Dossier was part of the insurance policy.

A lot of people are misreading the intent of the insurance policy. The policy wasn’t to remove Trump from office. The policy was for the protection of the small group schemers and the larger intelligence community in case Trump was elected.

They had conducted illegal spying on a political campaign via FBI contractors’ access to the NSA database. When you really think about it, that is OUTRAGEOUS – the biggest scandal in US history. It makes Watergate look like a 3 Stooges episode.

They needed the Dossier to set up a parallel construction so that they could approach the FISC and get a warrant, which retroactively covers all of the spying.

The effort to remove Trump didn’t really start in earnest (in my opinion) until Trump fired Comey. That opened up the “obstruction” angle and they used the nonsense Trump-Russia angle as cover for Mueller to pursue obstruction. When McCabe took over the FBI he went into overdrive with Rosenstein.

      It all failed.

Yep. And to reiterate… the dossier was essential to getting the fisa warrant on Page. The fisa warrant was the actual insurance policy and they had to get it done before the election or the judge would never have approved the warrant to spy on a newly elected president… although I imagine she personally had no problem with it. The judge had to have known what they were trying to do… thus no outrage from the fisa court for the faulty warrant. Those fisa judges are in a cya position as is much of DC I imagine.

I tried to go back and nail down exactly where things stand with FISAs that were attempted and those that are suspected to exist and it is a giant black hole. Until the FISA report from the IG comes out it is probably not worth speculating further as the reporting on it is all over the map. We know FISAs were attempted and rejected. We know Page had a FISA. Everything else is so spotty and all over the place its hard to take any of it seriously. I think lots of reports are conflating different events as well which only adds to the confusion.

But to your point FISAs do expire and the hints that are out there suggest a Flynn FISA would have been from late 2015/early 2016 (if it exists) and the same for a Pap FISA. There is reporting that a Manafort FISA existed but expired in early 2016. I’m 50/50 on whether or not I believe those FISAs exist as it seems like some reporting is assuming a FISA exists based on their being an open investigation. The investigations are likely real but that doesn’t mean a FISA necessarily. Also it seems like Nunes would know if there are more FISAs with fraudulent info in them by now and would be hinting about it but he hasn’t done so as far as I know.

My theory is that the reporting is wrong and the leakers were suggesting their info came from a FISA warrant because the info actually came from the illegal 702 searches. They wouldn’t have needed FISA warrants while the 702 searches were active and I actually think the FISA denials in the summer signal that the court was not necessarily the rubber stamp we assume. I think we are going to find that there were only 2 FISAs issued in the Russia investigation and the rest were all intimated by the leakers and bad guys as either proof the information they were leaking was legit or to cover for the fact that the info came from illegal 702 searches. We’ll find out soon enough I suppose.

They don’t need any special investigations or congressional hearings. That’s what we build federal court houses for.

This isn’t rocket science, and it’s not that tricky or difficult or complicated. There is established process. Go follow it. And if Barr can’t trust Liu to do it, ask PDJT to fire her and put someone else on it. Any junior Asst US Atty could do this in their sleep. So get on it!

The consequences of exposing this is probably gonna be what keeps it from being exposed. It would cause a complete collapse in the credibility of the US Federal government. Congress passed the laws that allowed it to happen then refused to properly oversee the programs even after they were exposed by multiple whistle blowers. The courts apparently acted but still covered it up plus they have their credibility being exposed by approving fraudulent FISAs. The executive branch would have been involved up to the very top. This exposes complete corruption from all three branches of government in willful acts to subvert the constitution and cover it up when it was exposed. That is a level of corruption that is so damaging to the entirety of government that I fear its scale protects it. The press, having been complicit in covering for this, is loathe to admit their role and refuse to investigate. Barr would have to be one tough mofo to pull the layers back this deep. Likely there will be some horse trading and sword falling before this fully gets fleshed out.

What is crazy is that we KNOW with 100% certainty the capability of the NSA systems. Snowden leaked them (sorry if it offends anyone but I’m glad he did and think he’s a hero for doing it). We know with 100% certainty that they were abused due to this report featured in this article and since we know their capabilities (not counting what they added since Snowden) we know the extent of what they could achieve with that abuse. Yet we will probably never get a full accounting of it.

We, our country, need to go back to 1776. Make everyone read and sign the constitution. Get rid of all these institutions and agencies and start anew, minimizing government.
Clean the excrement up, in every sense,
Close the borders for 5 years and see what happens.

How many of the current never Trump GOP were victims of this scheme? They are Romney-esque in their cowardness.

Is it just me, or has Romney hit a new level of deep state stupid? Being outraged by the contents of the Muller report, and not a syllable against the mere existence of the report. That shows that Romney is ok with the lawlessness he himself and his lovely wife would have faced if he had been elected in 2012. Is he the new John McCain?

  44. If sundance can lay it out for U.S in the public square like he has done. .. then you can be sure that privately the POTUS & AG Barr know all of this and More.

The coup is collapsing but still ongoing .. and the now desperate conspirators are even more dangerous than before. The imperative is to have an indictment of one of conspirators to signal that it’s truly over.

Arrest just one traitor who has left the most obvious trail of criminality .. and let the great unraveling begin.

In the second video at about 4:27 mark Admiral Rogers tells Senator Lankford that “we’re purging the data we had collected under the previous authorization”. Isn’t that evidence of a crime? Shouldn’t those files be kept as evidence? What am I missing? I think Admiral Rogers should get the Presidential Medal of Freedom! Thank you Admiral Rogers for your service!

Admiral Rogers retained all the information to maintain the audit trail of who made the illegal requests, about whom, and what they retrieved, but expunged the material itself (which is still in the database) to protect the citizens whose privacy was violated.

We need a catchy name for this scandal – not yet another “-gate.”

Sarah Palin is really good at these: She coined the term “Obamacare death panels.”

I’m thinking something like “Obama’s Secret Police” – with a tie in to his ominous statement that the United States needed a civilian armed force equal to the military. He wanted his own personal Black Shirts. And apparently his own Gestapo.

I hope CTH has given this same info to Senator graham, Rep Nunes and the appropriate IG offices.
DOJ IG and others. Ultimately this needs to be in Bill Barr’s hands.
Thanks, Sundance. It seems to me this is enough info to begin a thorough investigation – to answer Bill Barr’s question:
es, Trump was spied on – was there an adaquate predicate?? A. No, there was only a ton of illegal search activity.

SD, kudos for this latest recap of the Deep State’s unAmerican activities. No wonder Lois Lerner, John Koskinen and other IRS offenders testified (or refused to) as if they were bulletproof—they thought they were. It’s amazing how our POTUS maneuvered his way through the landmines of “obstruction” setups to make it possible for AG Barr to investigate the true offenders of liberty.

  50. BTW – Why hasn’t Mueller and his investigators or Rosenstein, or Horowitz or Congress investigated this? Is this what Huber is doing? And I hope WH and Trump’s lawyers know this.
Hopefully this will come out and with enough conservative media coverage that the MSM will not be able to ignore it.
Hannity and Dobbs should be aware of this also – this needs to be reposted regularly.
