Vice President Mike Pence delivers the oath of office to representative Ryan Zinke as Secretary of the Interior.  As Secretary Zinke accepts his commission to head the Department of the Interior he takes charge of everything outside:

Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Veep hit as many news broadcasts, radio and TV, in a single day, as Vice President Mike Pence did today covering literally tens of millions of viewers and listeners.
Gee Wally, it’s as if the communications team knew President Trump was going to leave a jaw dropping speech impact that would necessitate much advance planning and scheduling for discussion. “As if”…  {{snicker}}

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin gives Fox Business News’ Neil Cavuto an interview to discuss President Trump’s timeline for the ObamaCare repeal, budget and tax reform.
The interview is interesting because Secretary Mnuchin outlines the speed of action anticipated with the implementation of the Trump ‘America First’ agenda.  This ain’t the traditional political pace that people are used to; this is Trump speed – Trump work ethic.
Remember, the key aspects to Trump’s agenda revolve around three congressional deliverables:  •Budget, •ObamaCare Repeal/Replace and •Tax Reform.  With those three key legislative elements in place many of the remaining policy initiatives are security and enforcement actions which are already within the authority of the White House.

This interview, containing a very optimistic outlook, is what sent the stock market soaring today.

(Via Facebook) Today I signed two bills that promote women entering and leading the STEM fields — science, technology, engineering, and math. Currently, only 1 in every 4 women who gets a STEM degree is working in a STEM job, which is not fair and it’s not even smart for the people that aren’t taking advantage of it….

Deconstructing the Administrative State Continues…

Today President Trump signed an executive order directing EPA head Scott Pruitt to dismantle the Obama Clean Water Rule.   With this executive order Scott Pruitt will begin repealing and rewriting the vastly overreaching EPA rule which defined all water as navigable waterways, including puddles, ponds and water retention structures.

EPA Head Scott Pruitt will now go through the same lengthy rule-making process that put it together.  It will take time to go through the notice and comment periods and probable legal challenges mounted in the opposite direction by environmental groups.

Vice-President Mike Pence delivered remarks this morning during the official commission of Wilbur Ross to become Secretary of Commerce.   Both Vice-President Pence and Secretary Ross gave brief remarks during the formal commission ceremony.

Secretary Ross brings with him a comprehensive subject matter skill-set to the position of commerce secretary.  Wilbur Ross has spent decades inside the architecture of the economy understanding every aspect to the structure of economic impact brought about by governmental policy.  He was overwhelmingly supported during his nomination.
Secretary Ross specific expertise is with the predictive impact of intensely granular policy on trade deals.  He amassed a personal fortune by using his skill to invest in operations connected to the constructs of U.S. policy.  Ross has willingly set those assets behind a blind trust and assumes the role of commerce secretary in an effort to provide the larger U.S. economy with the road map to similar growth and economic wealth.

It was interesting to see a question about 600 unfilled administration positions, and President Trump’s response NOT to fill those positions because they are fundamentally unnecessary to the priority functions of government.

Press Secretary Sean Spicer delivers the White House Press Briefing for Monday February 27th, 2017.  The briefing begins with an outline presentation by Mick Mulvaney, Director of the Office and Management Budget (OMB), giving a high level review of an upcoming President Trump budget.
President Trump also announced today that a congressional ObamaCare repeal and replacement bill, MUST come before any tax reform plan is presented. Mulvaney outlined an anticipated massive cut to all non-military discretionary budgets around 10 to 12% per department. (more on that later)
