MS NOW is having a full-blown MELTDOWN now that President Trump’s White House BAN has actually gone into effect. Their reporter showed up this morning, got DENIED at the gate after her badge was disabled, and an officer confiscated it right there on the spot.

To me it’s a VERY easy solution – IF you REALLY think that YOUR product presents existential risks to humanity – GO OUT OF BUSINESS. There will always be other, smarter people who can accomplish the task without the risks.
I’ve figured out what annoys me about this. This whole attitude is telling us that everything is hopeless.
I’m a problem solver. Most engineers are. When there is a new risk in the world, we don’t throw up our hands and cry, we take a deep breath, assess the new risk, work to understand and mitigate it. Most problems can be solved or at least managed.
The attitude here is not “here’s a new risk for you to mitigate”. It is “you can’t possibly mitigate the upcoming risk”. They are trying to communicate that you are forever helpless.
That’s why they get annoyed when people come up with reasonable solutions to their thought experiment problems. Their point is not to accurately describe new risks. Their point is to tell you that things are hopeless and you can’t possibly solve this problem.
I’m sorry, but that is loser talk. If they truly believe they are in the business of creating a technology that will endlessly invent new and novel risks for normal people and businesses, that is no different than spraying toxic waste all over the town square and then telling the people who try to clean it up that their task is hopeless b/c they’re just going to spray more toxic waste in the town square tomorrow. It’s deeply anti-social and I’m sick of it.

I think part of the push for the government to regulate AI comes from wanting to limit AI liability. Like the immunity granted to the vaccine makers. AI has shredded copyrights and intellectual property rights in obtaining their data.
The 3 big AI companies are putting out fear porn to attempt regulatory capture. That is getting the government to pass regulations that they can live with but prevent start up competitors from making a better product because they can’t afford to comply.

In case you don’t remember, the allegations of “abuse” occurred years before his Senate campaign. They were determined to not be credible. His ex-wife even supported his run for Congress in 2020. And then, after becoming the Trump-endorsed candidate for PA Senate in 2021, all of a sudden the Pennsylvania Supreme Court specially appointed a Democrat judge from outside of his county to oversee his divorce proceedings. That judge proceeded to revoke his custody of his kids citing the fact that he was a candidate for Senate.
It was at that time that the media ran with the allegations of “abuse,” which, again, were years old and had been determined to not be credible.
Sean was then forced to end his race to get custody of his kids back. He has since become happily remarried, and not only has his full parental rights back, but also adopted his wife Melanie’s children as well.

Jesus used the word “steward” in a different way most use it. Jesus was a steward of the GOD FORCE or Divine LOVE that flows through the WHOLE UNIVERSE. Jesus didn’t own this energy, never did, … he was a vessel whereby this DIVINE LOVING ENERGY flowed through HIM.
So Jesus received this Divine Flow and then gave it all away … into the Universe. The more Jesus did this, the more FILLED he became …. FILLED with more of this DIVINE ENERGY.
This is the opposite law of this earthly plane! If you give 5 dollars to somone, … you no longer have 5 dollars , the other person has the 5 dollars. That is the way the earth world works.
JESUS was teaching us … if YOU receive the ENERGY that Jesus was receiving and sharing … you get STRONGER AND STRONGER and STRONGER! Jesus as TEACHER taught you this. Jesus was joined with CHRIST and CHRIST is JOINED with GOD ALMIGHTY.
So, are you going to ask Jesus to teach you to receive this “LIVING WATER” ? … and then share it with all people, places and things around you? As ego, … when you make the switch from ego to GOD ENERGY … YOU change, but the others that don’t do this will not see this. You will appear as “nothing” in this world.
Why? Because to get to this PLACE, you have to EMPTY yourself of “ego” … or who you “think” you are.

The Holy Spirit does now from the inside what Christ did for the disciples from the outside: teach, convict, remind, and guide us. The living water is the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is poured out on all of those who put their faith in the Son: “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” (John 7:37)
Stewardship is our relationship to God. God is owner and man the manager. God makes man His co-worker in administering all aspects of our life. “For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building” (1 Corinthians 3:9).
Energy does not flow. The strength, inspiration and growth in our lives comes from God through the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit our labor is in vain and any growth in stewardship becomes self-righteous, human growth.
We must always remember what the sole source of our strength in pleasing God is: As Paul said “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13 ).
Paul also said “whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me — and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.” (1 Corinthians 15:10).

Seems to me, just like everybody paying for virus protection because of constant hacking, the public, government, military, corporations, and basic infrastructure, will have to either hire AI protection or buy their own AI to fight off the attacking AI.
Sundance has called the AI threat a “scheme” by big corporations but maybe it’s not. Maybe these developers know they have unleashed an unstoppable menace that will only continue to get larger. Does anybody think that hackers will NOT use AI? Of course they will and the developers could be running scared from their own electronic virus.

PDJT also needs to think through this more. It’s not doom and gloom today but when we see current hacking of so many companies along with electrical systems and water infrastructure, the addition of AI to hacker tools makes it very serious.

i do agree that safety rails against hacking need to be strengthened across the board,

one aspect of hacking with AI is just enhancing a phishing scam with video, trying to get you to disclose your info

infrastructure is another story – that’s been a prime target for years.
if those folks don’t have their security up to speed, AI or not, they’re nuts and they’re gonna have problems.

Obviously I haven’t sent you enough rain because it’s still here after a day and a half of drizzle.
My thing with AI is that yes, it will cure disease and make everything cheaper better faster more efficient. To get there, society will endure some pain. I can’t predict the future but there are writers that create stories of the future. We’ve seen 2001, and many SciFi movies but the in-depth exploration of AI is in writing.
Neal Asher writes hard science fiction about an AI ruled universe, sometimes violent, with swift justice from the AI in charge. His writing has an anti woke position which I like. Anyway, I understand the cynicism about the AI fear but maybe in this case there is more that we need to pay very close attention to.
Let’s be skeptical about AI fear, but we should ask ourselves, what if it’s true? The odds of everything we hear being narrative manipulation/control of the public can’t be 100%. Something will come true and I hope our skepticism doesn’t overwhelm our common sense.

The main issue – it is NOT intelligence – it isn’t even intelligent. It’s nothing more than APPLICATIONS – just like any other – that makes use of tens of thousands of processors and a compressed data base to do a task. Not much different than the “super computers” that run computational fluid dynamics applications to model the atmosphere and predict weather.
Thus it’s name should NOT include the term “intelligence” IMO. My top two suggested names:
Simple, to the point, and accurate – Advanced Parallel Processing (APP).
For other reasons, my second choice would be – Big Inference Tensor Computor Processing Everyone’s Surveillance…

I use my cell phone to record video and to take pictures, I also use a couple of cameras and a GoPro. I recently bought a camera stand to hold my cell phone. The stand came with a detachable button that can be used to snap pictures on my cell phone camera. To use it the blue tooth has to be activated. The push button works as it should.
My cell phone gave me a blue tooth error message telling my that it couldn’t transfer files to my Apple laptop, my lap top was at home. My cell phone showed a list of files which included pictures, videos, screen shots and others. I have never used my laptop with my cell phone and I rarely ever have blue tooth enabled on my cell phone.
In other words, my cell phone (android) is sending my files to an apple computer without my knowledge or permission. Effing big tech and their spyware.
I have a rule – if it isn’t intentionally being used in the moment, it’s turned off – regardless of the type of potential connection (BT, WF, or other).
Multiple indicators ME going hot about now.
