Importing Mexican Poop Lettuce Is a Choice

Senator John Curtis says, “Utah employers tell me time and again how difficult it’s become to find enough workers to meet growing demands.”  Where, “Utah employers” is more accurately described as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

As a consequence, Senator Curtis (Utah) and Senator Mark Kelly (AZ) are proposing that individual states should have the right to issue H1B visas and import foreign workers without the federal immigration program in control.  As the narrative is sold, there are no Utah Americans to fill the jobs available.  That’s their story and they’re sticking to it.

On the bad news side, there is no issue that shows the disconnect between the American public and federal politicians at a greater disparity than the issue(s) surrounding immigration and the various work visa programs.  On the good news side, if you look at the comments toward ideas represented by Curtis you see about a 9/1 ratio against them.

Unfortunately, the DC politicians will not listen to the 90% against them, because they have unlimited power and affluence as delivered by multinational corporations and lobbyists like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (US CoC); the modern inverted Fascism.

Senate Judiciary Committee Advances Todd Blanche AG Nomination

Senators Thom Tillis and John Cornyn finally dropped their opposition to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche advancing the nomination with a judiciary committee vote 12-10 along party lines.

Senator Chuck Grassley navigated a pathway out of the committee with an agreement by AAG Blanche that an IRS lawsuit settlement agreement between the DOJ and Trump attorneys would not create a J6 victim’s compensation fund.

The $1.8 billion settlement between the IRS and lawyers representing President Trump for leaking the candidates’ personal tax returns still remains at the heart of the matter. What Donald Trump and the Trump Organization plan to do with the settlement is unknown, hence the political consternation about the settlement remains in place.

WASHINGTON DC – […] Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said ahead of the vote that Cornyn and Tillis’ concerns about the fund “and the IRS settlement were shared by many, including this senator.” He added that the changes Blanche made “put this issue to bed once and for all.”

Manufacturing Index Reflects Continued Strong Growth – Highest in 4 Years

What we can take away from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) index on manufacturing [Data Here]: overall, the U.S. manufacturing sector is continuing to expand significantly.  The current index of 55.6 percent in July is 2.3 percentage points above the June figure and the highest reading since May 2022 (55.9 percent), when we were trying to recover from the COVID-19 shutdowns and supply chain problems.

PMI – The overall economy continued in expansion for the 21st month in a row. (A Manufacturing PMI® above 47.5 percent, over a period of time, generally indicates an expansion of the overall economy.) The New Orders Index expanded for the seventh consecutive month after four straight readings in contraction, registering 56.7 percent, up 0.7 percentage point compared to June’s figure of 56 percent.

The July reading of the Production Index (58.5 percent) is 6.3 percentage points higher than the 52.2 percent recorded in June and the highest figure since November 2021 (60.5 percent). The Prices Index remained in expansion (or ‘increasing’ territory), registering 71.1 percent, a 1.9-percentage point decrease from June’s reading of 73 percent. The Backlog of Orders Index registered 55 percent, up 4.5 percentage points compared to the 50.5 percent recorded in June.

The Employment Index reading of 52.8 percent is up 3.1 percentage points from June’s figure of 49.7 percent, putting the index in expansion territory for the first time in 33 months.” (source)

All that data and a couple of bucks will buy you a cup of coffee, but here’s what it means in common speak.

DHS Secretary Mullin Discusses Immigration Reform, Workforce and Deportation

Several people sent me this video with comments about DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin appearing to be hesitant on deporting illegal aliens.  I watched ready to chew (in typeset) his head off.  However, I don’t see that amnesty aspect as part of his commentary.

On the illegal alien workers, I structurally disagree with every single person who have used that argument for the past 20 years.  We do not need illegal alien workers, not even in the agricultural sector.  The illegal farm worker argument is a ruse, created by Big Ag, and promoted by smaller Ag to protect their bottom line and themselves from criticism.

Remove all illegal alien farm workers, deport them.  Big Ag will handle it the same way Big Tobacco did and Big Cotton did before them.  A combination of higher wages, extended farm worker visas and technology will bridge the gap.  We do not need illegal alien workers in any sector; the issue drives illegal trafficking and underground criminal activity.  Deport all illegal aliens.

We need 1 million+ deportations every month.  Cut illegal aliens off from every subsidy program, enforce employment law with jail time for corporate executives, remove banking activity and block transfer remittances without legal and verified ID.

Deport all illegal aliens, cancel all H1B visas and watch Generation Z thrive and afford homes etc. Deport all illegal aliens.

DOJ Drops Charges for DC Reflecting Pool Citing Contractor “Botched Installation”

The Dept of Justice in Washington, DC, dropped all charges against David Hearn for damage to the reflecting pool, saying instead that an investigation has led to information the installation was botched during construction.

Obviously, the leftists are taking a victory lap against previous accusations by President Trump that vandalism was the major cause of the algae return.

(VIA NBC) – […] In a filing Friday afternoon, a supervisor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, which is headed by Jeanine Pirro, wrote that officials obtained information that undermined “the evidentiary basis for the indictment” against Hearn.

Prosecutors said that after the indictment, the Interior Department “provided additional documents to the USAO-DC indicating that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in June 2026 was the result of flawed installation by the contractor, Atlantic Industrial Coatings.”

DOJ said they “first became aware of information showing that the damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism” after reviewing more documents.

The Justice Department filing said that based on its review of evidence, “it is difficult to attribute the widespread damage to the Reflecting Pool to vandalism, let alone to establish that fact beyond a reasonable doubt.” (read more)

President Trump disagrees with the DOJ determination of cause.

President Trump Announces Deal for Hamas to Disarm While Israel Withdraws from Gaza

According to the announcements: ♦ Hamas agrees to gradually surrender weapons in exchange for Israeli troop withdrawal, under a phased plan announced by Donald Trump. ♦ Verification & Oversight: A verification committee will monitor disarmament and troop withdrawal, with weapons stored under a new Palestinian administration. ♦ International Mediation: Agreement brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the US-led Board of Peace, aiming to enable Gaza reconstruction and humanitarian access.

PRESIDENT TRUMP – Via Truth Social – “Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza. This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY.

This agreement is a critical step towards Gaza finally being governed by a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the Board of Peace to help the Palestinian people. At the same time, Israel will have the security it deserves, with Gaza no longer used as a base for terror attacks.

This is a major milestone in the implementation of the Trump 20-Point Plan. The agreement will be carried out in carefully structured phases. As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbors.

Senators Cornyn and Tillis Block Todd Blanche from AG Confirmation

Republican senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis are refusing to support Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche for full senate confirmation.

President Trump notes he will not accept the threats and blackmail from both outgoing senators and will renominate Todd Blanche if needed after the two senators are removed from office.

[Via Truth Social] – “Todd Blanche is a STAR, and everyone knows it! He has the potential to go down as one of the Greatest Attorney Generals of All Time. However, John Cornyn, of Texas, and Thom Tillis, of North Carolina, both of whom I refused to Endorse, and whose political careers have been ended by my action, are refusing to vote for this Great Nominee, who will remain, in any event, as Acting.

Remember, both Cornyn and Tillis voted for Merrick Garland, and others, too numerous to mention. I have no objection to temporarily withdrawing Todd’s name, if they do not do the right thing, and putting him back after Cornyn and Tillis are out of office.”
