With such incredible disparity between the states of our republic, I’m curious what is the current status of the COVID lifestyle near you. What is going on in/around your town, city, region or hamlet?
This isn’t just a typical request for ground reports, it’s also a little selfish. You are helping me with advanced recon for a travel itinerary. It is quite amazing the scale of difference between states. The media reports in large generic terms, but the stuff that matters is how it impacts your life; your daily function. That’s what we are all interested in.
It is quite remarkable how different life amid COVID is within each state, even when two states are right next to each other. So how is it your area?
Earlier today Harvard University announced all classes this year and next will be taught virtually. Incoming Freshman will have dorms, but no classes will have in-person instruction; all classes will be virtual. The total student body on campus will be kept under a forty percent threshold due to COVID-19 efforts.
MASSACHUSETTS – “In addition to freshmen, Harvard will host as many students who “must be on campus to progress academically” this fall as it can without exceeding the 40 percent threshold. All courses will be taught virtually for students both on and off campus.”
Additionally, Harvard will not be making any adjustments to their tuition rates.
A few hours later U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced any foreign student who attends a U.S. university with only virtual classes will lose their student visa.
U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley implied this morning that USAO John Durham may not provide evidence of the already well-documented effort to remove President Trump from office until after the November election:

Senator Grassley is chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, and sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee as well as the Senate Budget Committee. Senator Grassley was elected in 1981 and has held office for almost 40 years.
Earlier today President Trump drew attention to the purposeful fraud pushed by NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace. In interviews Mr. Wallace said: “a noose was placed in my garage” and “the noose was hanging over my car.” Both of those statements were false.

On June 25th NASCAR released a picture of the garage pull-down rope and knot that both they and Bubba Wallace described as a “noose hanging over the car“.
Except it clearly was not hanging over the car, and it clearly wasn’t a “noose” or it wouldn’t function to help pull the door down. Driver Bubba Wallace now calls it “a non-functioning noose.” Or, in simple terms, a garage pull-down rope with a loop-knot tied in the end.
However, what NASCAR did not realize was the picture they provided actually makes the situation worse; because the picture shows something else, something worse:

Official Statement – Nashville, Tenn. (July 6, 2020) — Country music and southern rock legend Charlie Daniels has passed. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Grand Ole Opry member died this morning at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee. Doctors determined the cause of death was a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.

It is not my intent to be cryptic; but at a time of consequence, it is necessary. That said, the roots of CTH are deep, strong and enduring. Nothing here will change; this is your refuge and I tend to it as a happy steward. That is important to me.
