Many years ago my son entered the second grade. He hated it because he finished the busy work very fast, and was bored. The teacher was a lazy hack. I showed up for a Veterans Day event one morning, went to my son’s classroom, and it was chaos.
I walked up to the teachers desk, and she looked up at me (reading a romance novel) as if she were thinking, “oh great, another parent coming to complain about junior”.
Before she could say anything, I told her I was there for the Veterans Day event and for my son. The look of relief that came over her face was incredible.
The impression was school administration and teachers had to tolerate this just once a year, and then we would be gone again.
Needless to say, we pulled him out of school a few weeks later and home schooled him through graduation, with the exception of a single semester as a freshman. His third day on the bus was a fight which he won against a Senior. I was notified by the principal who was shocked I would be at the school in 10 minutes.
To this day, I am pissed off that the principal suggested my son was also culpable. I was pissed off the local police were called and in the principals office before I got there. I found out days later other teachers knew the other kid had been suspended more than once for starting fights. Rather than put up with that crap further, we let him home school until graduation.
He went on to get a Bachelors and is doing very well now.
My daughter home schooled until she was a freshman. Pot smoke smell on the students, drug dogs going through lockers and a drunk teacher hauled out of the classroom added to drunk school bus drivers. The indoctrination was incredible. Schools across the nation can subscribe to this “educational” web site based out of New York. The web site is essentially liberal indoctrination 101. They make a hell of a pile of money off of schools all over the nation. Lazy teachers can log on to the web site, and print out various liberal worksheets for the students on climate change, sex education, etc. The worksheet my daughter asked me about was 22 years old, and had climate change nonsense that had been long debunked, but it was still used in classrooms.
She graduated a year early.

Well….I have found that police officers… firefighters…first responders…it tends to run in the family.
And….they have a tendency to stick together and stick up for each other. They see the worst of life on the civilian front. John Doe on the street usually has no idea of what they go through.
Just speaking from personal experience. The families know somewhat of not having mothers and fathers and relatives not home for holidays or cookouts or family gatherings, or just regular shift work. It is a 24hours, 7 days a week and 365 day job.
So, it is just not the Moms…but whole families. And the majority will be voting for President Trump that I know of!
I’ve talked my grandsons and great grandkids out of joining the force, it was bad enough while I was in it and it verges on personal suicide to join now.

Don’t know if you heard but two LA sheriff’s deputies were ambushed and shot today. Protesters showed up at the hospital they were taken to shouting ‘death to the police’, other protesters blocked the entrance and exit to the hospital’s ER while yelling “we hope they die!”.
Lynwood, CA city manager commenting on his personal site about the shootings said that Compton, where to ambush occurred, has been “plagued by deputy gangs that inflict fear and violence in the community” while also saying the “the chickens have come home to roost”.

Politicians write laws for various reasons but a big one is to make it look to the public like they’re actually care and are doing something. They write them, other pols have to decide which ones they’ll enforce and to what degree and LEA gets the squishy end of the enforcement stick.
I had a lawyer prof in grad school, and that was over 30 years ago, who said that there are so many laws on the books from local to Federal that the average person could spend at least 30 years in jail for the laws s/he knowingly/unknowingly violates in his/her life. We loves dem laws, jes don’ like en-forcin’ them.
So true and now more than ever, it’s all about “optics” and “talking points” for the establishment pols–“I passed this law to give you money.” “I passed this law to keep you safe.” When the laws, in fact, do neither, but the journos are so in the tank, they don’t expose the lies or the collateral/unintended and sometimes intended damage. I’ve long thought there should be a Constitutional amendment requiring every other legislative session only be allowed to do repeals and that each bill passed as a law only address one issue, so there’s not all this hidden pork and totalitarianism in big spending bills. Of course, I’m not the only one to propose these things and there’s a clearly discernible reason such clear, commonsense reforms have not been implemented–$$$$.
Laws are written so that there are back doors, I’ve posted that before. Pols don’t want to take the chances of pissing off anyone if they can help it and know that folks with a personal interest in a law will read it and focus on that part that interests them while ignoring the parts that work against their points.
There are so many laws that are on the books no one can know them all. One of my favs is the Louisiana law allowing a left turn on red if you’re in a legal turn lane AND you’re turning into a one way street. I’d get stopped a few times a year while out serving fly paper (we used our own cars and rec’d mileage) by traffic cops who didn’t know about the law. There are that many traffic laws.
Getting rid of a law is as hard as getting rid of a tax. So few camels, so many straws.

I stayed with one of my 8 sisters and we agreed to disagree and watch movies instead of Rachel Maddow when I started talking back to Rachel. Her 15 year old grandson was afraid to visit because he was terrified of the virus and came in wearing a mask. I gave him a zinc lozenges and a quercetin capsule and explained why. He never wore his mask again and stayed with us for a day and a half. 30 other people came around and he told them all to take their zinc. We had a bowl of zinc lozenges and a bottle of quercetin next to a pile of masks and hand sanitizer at the front door. I hope I influenced him.

Yesterday, I was in a group and the topic of the devastating fires on the West Coast came up. Someone mentioned that there have been arson arrests. Suddenly, a man raised his voice and said: “NOT TRUE!”
He works for Twitter and said that Twitter had sent out a notice that they had checked on the validity of that report and that the FBI and Sheriff’s Dept had confirmed that NO ONE has been arrested or charged. (I did see that the FBI stated that they could not link any fires to Antifa).
Now, Governor Newsom is categorically blaming the fires not on arson or poor forest management, but on ….Global Warming! Reports of arson arrests interfere with that narrative.
So, putting it all together, why would Twitter respond so vigorously within it’s network to a relatively uncirculated news story? To protect BLM and Antifa? To set up the next round of attacks on President Trump for being responsible for the fires because of his environmental policies?

Not surprisingly to me and others who have actually studied the dynamics of terrorist groups,and, indeed actually fought against them over a period of years, it is a fundamental truth that such groups evolve in various ways including:
composition (the “demographical” aspects as well as experiential—moving from novices to “veterans”—both in the sense of military vets joining as well as those who have been in previous terrorist operations)
size,
organization,
“C3” (command, control and communications) capabilities,
training,
equipment,
weaponry,
strategy and tactics,
intelligence gathering and analysis
As such, our government and we as a people make a grave error if we do not continually assess our now-proven mortal enemies. I have seen far too many on “our side” who re-post old memes and pictures of pasty tattooed wimps from BLM and Antifa 1.0 to represent our current enemies.
In fact, their ranks are full (and filling still largely due to the momentum and empowerment we have given these groups due to the relative inaction against their increasing violence both woke and cowardly politicians and law enforcement and other officials) with hardened criminal terrorists who were either outright criminals before joining or due to their participation in the violence by the groups.
Additionally,there appear to be an increasing number of military veterans joining these groups (we need to recognize that given the ages of these veterans that are exactly the range as the majority of those “combat troops” in these groups, they have been indoctrinated by our “educational” system to have world views very much in line with their civilian comrades. While some are “converted” to “our side” during their service, most are not, especially given the wokeness of our military since Obama came to power that has continued and even gotten worse under Trump.
When you now add the billions of dollars these groups now have due mainly to the cowardice of the corporate world in huge donations, all this is made even worse.
These groups can now afford training, equipment, weapons, communications, transportation, legal support etc. that is far beyond the budgets and capabilities of state and local governments and even in myriad ways, the federal government.
That is why I continue to think that the longer these groups are allowed virtually free rein, the eventual clash (if we are to actually address this existential threat—and that is exactly what it is—given their demonstrated radicalism and ideologies, there can never be a resolution based on compromise) gets exponentially worse.
I totally agree with everything you so brilliantly said except the “cowardice of the corporate world”. Most of our corporations are international and want a global, border less world. I believe their funding was purposeful, knowing full well what they are financing.
When I look around at my town, it was the smaller mom and pop stores that were shut down, but the global big box stores were the ones who were/are “essential”. They are also the ones setting the mask policy through their corporate boards and osha doesn’t call them on it. No, I believe the corporations did this willingly and with full knowledge of what they were doing. That funding money should be seized to rebuild the mom and pop stores that that were destroyed. They’ve gotten too much power and influence.

I have often thought of that, like if a municipality were to fail and its bonds become worthless, it would go bankrupt and be placed in receivership.
We have entire failed states teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. There is no way President Trump would give them bailouts so they never change their practices. PDJT assigns responsibility, whether it is European nations or American states, this is a strong principle he always executes on.
The governors of these states think the “magic bailout money” can just be made out of thin air. They have done great damage to their economies with decades of mismanagement and now lockdowns.

BLM tried to block an SUV at an intersection in Johnson City TN yesterday, three or four of them in front of the SUV, a couple on each side. The as yet unidentified driver bumped them and drove on, and over at least one of them. Police are investigating, but Tennessee’s Castle Doctrine applies to vehicles, so if the driver felt threatened he/she will likely be legally safe.
This evenings weather forecast is for thunderstorms, but will watch the local news to see if BLM tries again.

The George Floyd protests are the zenith of all the prior

Treyvon’s case). Cover the fact that they died, and a white
cop did it. Do it to the point that people are convinced that any
black person pulled over has their lived immediately in danger.
