According to Axios, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has given Fox News (Paul Ryan) and Tucker Carlson access to the 41,000 hours of CCTV footage.

Presumably Speaker McCarthy figures this approach will support his previous promise to release and “make public” the full unedited House footage.  I’m not sure I would qualify this as fulfilling the pledge.  Why is an intermediary needed?  Why not just release the footage and let people review it raw and unfiltered?

• • Carlson TV producers were on Capitol Hill last week to begin digging through the trove, which includes multiple camera angles from all over Capitol grounds. Excerpts will begin airing in the coming weeks.

Why it matters: Carlson has repeatedly questioned official accounts of 1/6, downplaying the insurrection as “vandalism.”

Ohio Senator JD Vance is visiting East Palestine today, meeting with residents, local leaders, as well as state and federal officials following the Norfolk Southern train derailment and subsequent toxic chemical release.  Video prompted to 10:37 when press conference begins. WATCH:

Credit where credit is due. Fox News Jesse Waters has been holding the spotlight on the government and railroad officials who have been downplaying the issues after the toxic chemical spill and explosions in the town of East Palestine, Ohio. {Direct Rumble Link}

The residents of the community are reporting several ongoing health issues and a community townhall was scheduled today.  However, executives with Norfolk Southern Railroad cancelled their attendance, leaving the citizens of the community frustrated.  Additionally, the railway contracted air and water testing with a company well known for minimizing the effects of environmental disasters to satisfy its corporate employers {Go Deep}.

Residents are being asked to sign liability waivers indemnifying the railroad, prior to the private testing of air and water quality.  This just seems very sketchy, all things considered and raises additional questions from the residents.  The federal EPA is not providing any assurances or answers.  Jesse Waters outlines some of the issues tonight during an interview with Ohio Congressman Bill Johnson.  WATCH:

The opening monologue from both Jesse Waters and Tucker Carlson stayed on this issue tonight. Given the nature of the effort to downplay the concern of the residents from both federal and state officials, it is good to see Carlson and Waters keeping the attention on this impacted community.

Someone on the Twitter brought up a good point…  It would be nice to see Ohio congressman Jim Jordan get involved to support Bill Johnson in this district.  Jim Jordan has a lot of power in Washington DC.  Perhaps together they could pressure FEMA to engage.

Yes, Dianne Feinstein has been around the corrupt Democrat system of politics for a long time, and yes, she has exhausted her usefulness. Also yes, this story is entirely apropos of how the DC professional political class works.

Yesterday, it was announced that Senator Dianne Feinstein is retiring. Essentially, the powers in control of the UniParty club system are clearing the way for Senator Adam Schiff, who will – not coincidentally – be maneuvered into position on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. However, the people around Feinstein forgot to tell her they were making a formal announcement.

WASHINGTON DC – Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said she did not know her office released a statement saying she will not seek reelection in 2024.

“I am announcing today I will not run for reelection in 2024 but intend to accomplish as much for California as I can through the end of next year when my term ends,” Feinstein, 89, said in the statement.

Later on Tuesday, reporters at the Capitol asked her about the announcement.

“I haven’t made that decision,” she said, according to Savannah Behrman of the National Journal. “I haven’t released anything.”

A Feinstein staffer then told her, “We put out the statement.”

“You put out the statement?” the senator replied, seemingly surprised. (read more)

Louisiana Senator John Kennedy attended a classified briefing today on the topic of the unidentified sky objects that Joe Biden administration officials have been shooting down with fighter jets and missiles.  At the conclusion of the briefing, Senator Kennedy came to the microphones to answer questions.

Unfortunately, Senator Kennedy says the briefing did not explain what the objects are or why the administration is shooting them down.  Additionally, the government has not found the three mysterious flying objects that were shot down in Alaska, Canada’s Yukon territory and above Lake Huron.  Kennedy says if you are confused, you are holding an accurate assessment of the situation.

During the briefing the intelligence officials noted, they do not know what the objects are, they do not know what they are used for, they do not know where they come from, and they cannot find them after they have been destroyed.  The obvious questions continue to mount.

The only clear information that Kennedy states was provided to the people briefed, was that these mysterious unidentified objects have been in/around our airspace since approximately 2017, according to the Biden officials.  At the conclusion of his remarks and Q&A session, a curiously puzzled Senator Kennedy advised everyone, “to lock their doors tonight.” WATCH:

In a little covered lawsuit by the group New Yorkers For Religious Liberty, Inc. et al -VS- The City Of New York, something very odd has surfaced.

After imposing the vaccine mandate in 2021, New York City fired the unvaccinated workers then sent the FBI the names and fingerprints of the non-compliant city employees to register within the justice files of the federal government.

New York City has recently abandoned the vaccine requirement {SEE HERE}, but the lawyers for the plaintiffs are continuing the lawsuit against the city because employment in the private sector is now impacted because the names of the unvaccinated are flagged in justice files within state and federal criminal justice records.

Pre-employment background checks now “flag with problem codes,” tagging the applicant as a potential criminal risk simply for being unvaccinated.

The stunning revelation about the FBI holding fingerprint files of the unvaccinated surfaced in court arguments from this lawsuit.   It seems like something out of a dystopian novel, but the reality is very serious.  I have not found any media reporting on the issue; however, CTH will highlight the raw source information so you can see for yourself.

It is remarkable to realize the scope of how the various government systems were so committed to the vaccine requirement, they were willing to register the names and fingerprints of unvaccinated Americans for future targeting.  Few things leave me speechless…  This does.

Appearing on Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan, House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman, Mike McCaul, discusses the ongoing Biden administration battle in the sky with balloons, objects and various Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO’s).

McCaul identifies China as the most likely culprit for sending the spy and surveillance equipment over North America, claiming the timing of the spycraft arrival against the backdrop of the military revealing the latest stealth bomber, the “B-21 Raider,” does not seem coincidental.

Additionally, because of course he does, Chairman McCaul notes that if we do not continue to send billions to Ukraine, then China and Russia will continue sending spy missions over the United States.  The way we defeat the UFO’s is to send more money to Ukraine.  That’s his logic, and he’s sticking to it. On Friday, they put restrictions on six Chinese companies that allegedly helped China’s military build that balloon.  Is this the right move, to just try to make it harder for them to get U.S. technology, or does Congress need to do something that’s more broad?

David Sacks is a key advisor to Elon Musk and one of the principal aides to Musk during the purchase and subsequent takeover of Twitter by the billionaire entrepreneur.

There has been an ongoing debate about whether Elon Musk was aware of the U.S. government and intelligence community control over Twitter prior to the purchase; with many people saying there is no way that Musk could not know given the scale of the money involved, $42 billion and the due diligence that generally follows such transactions.

However, in this interview David Sacks explicitly states Mr. Musk had no idea how much operational control and influence the government and intelligence apparatus held over the platform prior to the purchase. [Video prompted to 06:15 segment]

If Sacks is delivering an accurate assessment of the situation, then taking the issue one step further, it stands to reason that Musk has no idea what the core algorithmic code built into the platform actually consists of.  Additionally, as CTH has long outlined, then Musk has no idea about the data-processing subsidy arrangement that exists on the platform as an outcome of the partnership.

On Thursday the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of Government, held its first hearing.  I have not yet had time to listen to the full testimony of all witnesses, but it looks like the subcommittee is working to narrow the focus of their investigation and oversight by identifying the most critical issues.

In an unusual twist Senator Chuck Grassley and Senator Ron Johnson gave testimony to the House subcommittee to include their own experience with investigations of how the DOJ and FBI have weaponized their institutions against the American people and even against congressional oversight.  Full video below:

If you watched the full hearing, or if you have identified key questioning that you feel is relevant to the larger issues bearing further investigation, please identify those segments so that we can all benefit.

I am hopeful this subcommittee will deliver sunlight through the testimony and deposition of key witnesses.  However, knowing how most congressional oversight committees tend to wander, miss and omit the key issue(s), we need to identify the motive of this specific committee through the action we can document and cite. I hope to complete watching the entire testimony by the end of the day today.

CTH has never pretended or played the game of pretending, but several people have discussed the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing today on the Twitter censorship issue… and thus, some reminders and clarifications of inside DC politics are needed.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, hereafter called the House Oversight Committee or HOC, has a very specific function in DC circles that apparently too few understand.  Once again, let us be clear while trying to explain decades of false information founded upon arcane legislative outlooks.

This article is specific only to the House Oversight Committee.

Within Washington DC, the HOC has a very specific and unique function.  What Fox News is to corporate conservative punditry, so too is the HOC to the same DC system of pretending.  The House Oversight Committee is the “Chaff and Countermeasures” committee.  The HOC operates for both parties with the same mission.

The House Oversight Committee was/is created by the House legislative leadership to make money for the party in control of the Chair.  When the House Speaker is notified of a DC corruption issue, inside his/her office they will often be heard saying, “give it to oversight.”  The intent of that instruction is to give the issue to the HOC, so they can hold hearings, create soundbites and fundraise from the issue.

Making money for the party in control of the Chair is the primary function of the House Oversight Committee.  The HOC does not exist to create accountability or oversight; the HOC exists to exploit the issue for fundraising and satiate the base voters of the party in control of the Chair.  The HOC presents the illusion of accountability by constructing soundbites and member performances which are then broadcast on television for appearances to the voting audience.  It is essentially theater.
