It looks like the manhunt for the Maine mass shooter Robert Card is over.

Apparently, his body was found near Lisbon where he abandoned his vehicle.  A self-inflicted gunshot to the head.

(Daily Mail) – Maine mass shooter Robert Card has been found dead in the woods with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head, multiple sources told CNN.

Card, 40, was found near Lisbon, where his car was abandoned shortly after Wednesday’s massacre.

Eighteen people died when Card, an army reservist who had suffered a recent mental breakdown, opened fire at a bowling alley and bar in Lewiston.

Card went on the run, sparking a 48-hour manhunt. (link)

Earlier today Mike Lee sent this little bit of raw data from the border, “In the last 4 weeks alone (since the beginning of FY2024), the Border Patrol in the Rio Grande Sector has apprehended 5 illegal immigrants from Afghanistan, 19 from Syria, and 75 from China. It’s not a stretch—in fact, it’s putting it mildly—to say “they might not mean us well.” {link}  It is very concerning to think about who is walking into our country.

Earlier today, Texas AG Ken Paxton also asked the court for a restraining order against Joe Biden’s administration who are taking down border barriers and cutting through barbed wire in order to increase the flow of illegal aliens. [Court Filing Here] AG Paxton wants the court to stop Biden from opening the border.

TEXAS – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a motion for a temporary restraining order on an emergency basis after federal agents escalated their destruction of Texas’s barrier at the State’s border with Mexico. The federal government’s renewed effort to destroy Texas’s barrier and assist aliens’ entry into the country follows just days after Texas filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”), DHS Secretary Mayorkas, and other agencies for numerous documented incidents of barrier destruction and occasions on which federal agents facilitated aliens’ mass entry during a severe immigration surge in recent months. 

Texas is seeking an order that would enjoin federal agents from cutting, destroying, damaging, or otherwise interfering with Texas’s concertina wire fence. (link)

It’s not the ground invasion; it’s a larger tactical strike operation with pauses to gain overhead intel.  Without any doubt, the targeting and ordnance is from the command and control of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), but the aerial feeds (in review) are likely U.S. DoD support flowing directly back to the IDF.

Israel appears to be ramping up the direct targeting of Hamas operations in Gaza.  Unfortunately, Hamas has the mechanics of their terror machine enmeshed with the civilian population centers and key infrastructure.  This allows Hamas to conduct Pallywood propaganda operations in the aftermath.  Culturally, the Palestinian people live amid a social value system that rewards victimhood – the more dramatic, the more useful.

(Via Daily Mail) –  Israeli warplanes have tonight unleashed airstrikes of ‘unprecedented’ intensity across all parts of the Gaza strip, as it announced it was ‘expanding’ its ground forces’ operations.

The aerial onslaught came with a warning from the IDF to Palestinian civilians still living in Gaza to move south as soon as possible, amid fears that the long-awaited ground invasion of the enclave may take place within hours. 

The bombing, which observers described as much more ferocious and louder than previous days, coincided with electricity and communications blackouts in much of the besieged enclave.

One of the larger misunderstandings, amid the broad U.S. public, stems from a disconnect about specific media outlets and deserves a few moments of clarity.

We are all familiar with the term “State Run Media” as it pertains to several foreign countries.  However, the U.S. State Dept specifically saw the need for a similar communication control mechanism when the era of cable television originated.

Prior to cable television, the alphabets ABC, CBS and NBC were the dominant force in media.  This made the information control essentially simple for the various U.S. government interests to manipulate.  However, when cable television became popular, a more official control shift was needed. The result was CNN and CNNi.

Outside the USA, most foreign national governments accept that CNN/CNNi are part of the official message from the United States Dept of State.  For all practical purposes, CNN carries the official narrative as espoused by the U.S. govt though the State Dept.  CNN is the domestic equivalent of state media, and CNNi is the international outcome.

In the U.K., the interests of government are represented by the BBC (British Broadcasting Company).  In Canada it’s CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company).  In the middle east, Qatar controls the dominant news of Al Jazeera.  Each of these organizations expresses the perspective of information that comes directly from government.  CNN is no different for the official U.S. narratives.

I am in serious sourdough bread making mode now, as I usually am in the fall and winter. The urge to get my sourdough starter going usually hits the first brisk morning in September, but it was late coming this year due to our extended Indian summer.

I am looking for good soup recipes, maybe some fall vegetable and grain bowl ideas. Please share recipes and any requests you have!

Sometimes I just sit and shake my head.  Why these guys keep appearing with Sean Hannity is beyond my understanding.  That said, the platform and host is the first warning sign, the content of the interview is another.
