The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) union has now released a statement [SEE HERE] saying both sides have proved their point, and it is now time to end the federal government shutdown and pass a short-term continuing resolution (CR).

This move will put significant pressure on the Leftists and Democrats to stop their federal government shutdown. The AFGE represents 820,000 federal and D.C. government workers.  The position by the AFGE carries with it a cultural component in alignment with the DC membership makeup.

In approximately one week SNAP benefits will be at risk, and collectively the interests of the AFGE and the AME (African Methodist Episcopal Church) come into alignment. The change in position is not coincidental.

WASHINGTON — The country’s largest union representing federal workers is calling for lawmakers to pass a short-term spending measure to immediately end the government shutdown, urging Democrats to abandon their current position and join Republicans in supporting a stopgap solution.

I had no idea the number of people receiving supplemental food assistance was over 40 million.

With the federal government shutdown continuing, several media reports now say federal food assistance payments will likely lapse on November 1st.

WASHINGTON – More than 40 million low-income food stamp beneficiaries are expected to receive less help with grocery bills — or no help at all — in the coming days.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is threatening to withhold billions of dollars in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) contingency funding, which Congress has already allocated for emergency scenarios, if the government shutdown stretches into November.

There is between $5 billion and $6 billion currently in that fund, experts say. That’s not enough to cover the estimated $8 billion in SNAP benefits due out next month, but it would allow for partial payments to help low-income Americans defray food costs.

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups, Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and former NBA player Damon Jones were arrested Thursday over their alleged participation in two major illegal gambling schemes — one involving bets placed on NBA games, the other involving underground poker games — investigated by the FBI.

Working with organized crime groups, NBA “insiders” such as Rozier and Jones would pass along confidential information in exchange for some of the proceeds, said Joseph Nocella, the interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. “They relied on corrupt individuals, including Jones and Rozier. They also used misused information obtained during long-standing friendships they had with NBA players and coaches,” he said. (more)

However, Stephen A Smith sees something more nefarious afoot, as President Trump is executing a conspiracy of criminal investigations against the cultural sports of black Americans.  Smith notes the NBA, NFL and WNBA are all likely targets of a vast FBI sting operation, intended to target people of color who are engaged in sports and conducting criminal activity.  There’s also the possibility of Russians being involved in the set-up.  WATCH:

Interestingly it appears the Democrat machinery has decided to torpedo former House member Katie Porter from her primary race for governor. Monday a controversial video segment appeared showcasing the unstable disposition of Mrs Porter, and today someone from inside the Biden govt decided to deploy another video showing her angry state of mind.

As noted by the New York Post, “California gubernatorial hopeful Katie Porter snapped and tried to storm out of an interview after being asked a simple question about President Trump — with the Democrat raging “I don’t want this all on camera.” Footage of the bizarre encounter, which aired on Monday and quickly started going viral, captured Porter flipping out when the reporter asked how she planned to win Republican votes as she tries to replace Gov. The second video is even more interesting as it comes from the vaults of the Democrat leadership apparatus.  The second video emphasizing the unstable Porter narrative was recorded during an interview with former Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm in July 2021.

Chicago is well known as a safe haven for domestic communist activity. Radical political groups, the Weather Underground, Revolutionary Communists, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn and their Chicago Alinsky disciples all have called Chicago home for their base of operations.

As a result, it does not come as a surprise that all these hard-core leftist elements have converged in commonality to physically fight against any effort to bring peace and stability to the Chicago metropolitan area. However, the scale and scope of their activity is still alarming to hear when explained by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

In this interview Secretary Noem notes that bounties of $10,000 per kill have been placed on the heads of the ICE/CBP officials currently operating to arrest criminal cartel members and illegal aliens.  While she is careful to avoid giving details of ongoing investigations and interdiction efforts, Secretary Noem notes the scale of the threat presented by the alignment of these radical groups and their support for the criminal cartels who operate in the area.  WATCH:

A disturbing set of text messages from Virginia Democrat nominee Jay Jones has recently surfaced.  The text message exchange shows Mr. Jay Jones openly advocating for shooting then Republican speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates Todd Gilbert.

The text messages show a rare glimpse into the psyche of a Democrat politician running for higher office. Even if you take the politics of the issue out of the equation, these are the text messages from a severely disturbed mind.

“Three people, two bullets. Gilbert, Hitler, and Pol Pot. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head,” the text reads in part, referring to Republican Speaker Todd Gilbert and the two dictators.

Factually, well beyond politics, this is not an emotionally or cognitively stable person.

The disturbing messages come amid a larger conversation about Democrats and Leftists promoting violence in the wake of the Charlie Kirk assassination, and the politically motivated execution of Democratic Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman in their home earlier this year.

Democrats have been defending their promotion of violence for several weeks, and now the documentary evidence, provided by Virginia Democrat candidate Jay Jones, is staring them directly in the face.  Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the Virginia Democrat Party is now defending Jay Jones and supporting his violent messaging.

Information from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services as they conducted an operation from September 19th through September 28th in Minneapolis, St Paul. Stunning immigration fraud.

MINNEAPOLIS – U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, in coordination with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, conducted Operation Twin Shield, the first of its kind targeted surge of fraud detection and deterrence activities across Minneapolis-St. Paul and surrounding areas Sept. 19 to 28 —immigration officers discovered suspected fraud in 275 cases in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

The effort focused on site visits and targeted verifications for applicants and petitioners with pending immigration benefits who matched specified risk criteria. The operation aligns with Executive Order 14161, Protecting the United States from Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Safety Threat. The types of applications for immigration benefits investigated included marriage and family-based petitions, employment authorizations, and certain parole-related requests.

Operation Twin Shield was a resounding success: USCIS officers focused on more than 1,000 cases that had fraud or ineligibility indicators, conducted over 900 site visits and in-person interviews, and found evidence of fraud, non-compliance, or public safety or national security concerns in 275 cases—44 percent of cases interviewed. USCIS coordinated with our ICE and FBI partners, who provided valuable assistance during the operation. As of today, USCIS issued Notices to Appear (NTAs) or referred aliens to ICE in 42 cases, and 4 aliens were apprehended. USCIS expects data on NTAs, referrals to ICE, and adverse adjudicative actions to increase as more administrative investigations are completed.

Google’s subsidiary social media platform, YouTube, has agreed to pay Donald Trump $24.5 million in a settlement resulting from the 2021 lawsuit filed over deplatforming.

President Trump will use the settlement funds to build the White House ballroom; somewhat of an irony all things considered.

Wall Street Journal – YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million to settle a 2021 lawsuit that President Trump brought against the company and its chief executive over its suspension of Trump’s account after that year’s riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to court papers.

The settlement makes YouTube, which is owned by Alphabet’s Google, the final Big Tech company to settle a trio of lawsuits Trump brought against social-media platforms in the months after he left the White House. Meta Platforms agreed in January to pay $25 million, most of it to a fund for Trump’s presidential library, and X agreed to pay $10 million, much of it going directly to Trump, The Wall Street Journal previously reported.

Grand Blanc law enforcement has identified the suspect in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church shooting and fire as a 40-year-old man from Burton, Michigan.

The local police said a 40-year-old male ran his truck into the church, then exited his vehicle and opened fire with an assault rifle inside a church where hundreds of people were attending services.  The suspect then set fire to the church.

At least one person is confirmed dead, but more victims are expected as the search continues through the burned-out building.  Two police officers initially responded and engaged the gunman preventing more casualties.  The gunman is dead.

The FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), local and state law enforcement responded.
