Anheuser Busch continues to lose market share according to the latest statistics shared by Bump Williams consulting firm. In the key period just before the July 4th holiday, sales of Bud Light dropped another 28.5% compared to the prior year.
The initial sales decline which began in April continues. The ongoing boycott against Bud Light appears to be holding firm.
CNN – […] For the four weeks ending on July 1, Modelo Especial captured 8.7% of overall beer sales, compared to Bud Light’s 7% share, according to NIQ data given to consulting firm Bump Williams. Dollar sales for the pre-July 4 period continued to be grim for Bud Light, with sales falling 28.5%, while Modelo’s grew 8.5% during the same time period. (more)
Modelo Especial is an Anheuser-Busch product. A-B still has the top selling beer.
We’ve been looking for an alternative to A-B and Yuengling beers (Yuengling quietly supports the work agenda.) Last weekend we stopped by a local pub and noticed PBR tallboys on special. Yes, we rolled up our nose but after a quick search found they are still made in Milwaukee and are owned by a Russian who lives here now. Don’t think the Russians will be going woke! Anyway, we tried it and it tastes very smooth, almost like Yuengling Light so for now we have a new beer. Plus, it’s dirt cheap!
Wow – PBR. Haven’t thought of that one in years. I’ll give it a try.
Neither had we. That’s the get your brother to buy it for his high school friend beer around here!
Sadly they use high fructose corn syrup .PBR is owned by the same Russian dude who owns Hostess Twinkies, is it not?
Yes And he just bought the old Playboy Mansion for $00 million
Good idea; however, ‘local’ will vary widely throughout the country. My ‘local’ disappeared when I moved from CA to OR. Only one is still available at my small country store in OR, that being Sierra Nevada. They are kinda based in the same political region though, what we call the State of Jefferson, an idea that has long permeated a portion of CA and also OR.
I encourage folks, whether it’s beer or other discretionary or essential supplies, to look local. Yeah, the mega stores, clubs and similar are nice, and promise saving a buck, sure, but local is where we live.
Writing this reminded me of a bit of a chuckle that last time I was at the local store; at the bottom of the refer case of bacon, almost hidden from sight, was that infamous national brand, Smithfield, the Bud Light of bacon. Cheap, sure, but I quickly selected the more expensive, locally processed brand from higher up.
IDK if it made the store a few more pennies but no way in hell I’m gonna support the Chicoms in any way shape or form if I can help it. Local bacon, local beer.
PBR is one of the ‘hipster’ beers, it’s considered anti elite and working class by trust funders that wear expensive work boots that they never work in. They also wear blue jeans with the cuffs rolled up.
For bar beer I order Sam Adams Boston Lager.
I need to go to that. I was a Bud Light drinker for many many years but refuse to EVER support them again. I switched to Coors, which is now a Canadian beer, only to see that they were also supporting all this woke garbage. So now I am drinking Modelo which is ok, but I;m not happy sending my money to Mexico.
PBR seems like a good one to go to.

A fyi….per bing.com search
Grupo Modelo, the Mexican brewer, is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev, the same parent company of Bud Light.

Butt Light, as a brand, is DOA. The parent company InBev should just kill it off and start over. Yes, the damage from bad management choices was that bad.
There have been a few firings (administrative leave in corp speak) and a resignation or two, but that can’t fix the brand; the damage is done and the shareholder lawsuits are inevitable. Just kill off the brand and start over.
I had a Bud Light Lime the other day, sitting outside on a hot day eating shrimp and crabs. Pretty tasty, I have to say.
Modelo is owned by InBev, same as buttwiper
I did not know that. So, once again I will have to change brands.
Don’t drink that crap. Try absolutely anything from Yazoo brewery in Nashville exceptional products.
I think both bud @ modeling are owned by INBEV , is this not true?
Bud&Modelo both INBEV owned , correct?
Mulvaney moves abroad. Since Dylan is an “influencer”, can we hope this will start a trend?

Buy local craft beer it’s usually the least corporately corrupted and healthier. Usually tastes better and has a higher alc.%costs a bit more , but it’s better and the $$ stay in the USA! Not multi- nat globalist dispersement , generally …..
No way, I want my beer to be from a company that at least 150 years old, not 150 weeks old. BTW there are only four ingredients in beer and citrus is not one of them.
Modello is also an Ab biv Anheuser Busch product, likely bought by millions of illegals.
Narragansett Beer wasn’t bad when it was still brewed in Cranston, Rhode Island.
Just kidding……its only claim was it was wet, yellow, cold, and made you pee.
What more did you need in the early sixties?
Are you talking about Nasty Gasket beer?
“Hi neighbor – have a Gansett” — don’t know about Nasty Gaskets, but it tasted like rat piss…..
They thought Bud Light was too fratty
So they hired a tranny
Now they’re in a tizzy
Cuz their customers left in a hurry!
Modelo is owned by InBev. They own over 100 brands of beer. Boycott them all!
