Trudeau admits he has not tested positive, but thinks it is prudent to stay home just in case.
The fundraiser for the Freedom Convoy now exceeds $6.3 million dollars and still climbing. It is estimated that somewhere north of 50,000 vehicles are participating in the convoy. The Canadian government is very concerned about the political ramifications.

The fundraiser for the effort now exceeds $5.5 million dollars and still climbing. It is now estimated that over 50,000 vehicles are participating in the convoy effort, and the Canadian Dept of Transportation is doing everything possible to stop, block and impede the assemblies.
Every federal truck stop and DOT weigh station has been opened, and every truck is being required to go through the DOT checks. This is not accidental. The movement has now evolved into a conflict of the average Canadian, represented by the truckers, -vs- the oppressive government, represented by the activated federal agencies of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. It really has become an incredible example of THE PEOPLE -vs- GOVERNMENT.
The truck convoys started from British Columbia in the west, Newfoundland in the east, and Windsor, Ontario in the south. However, cars, SUVs, vans, and small commercial trucks are now included in the massive convoy lines and joined with the big rigs. On every highway along the way crowds are cheering and waving support for the Truckers.
Aerial views show some of the context for how massive these convoys are that are converging on Ottawa January 29th. It is widely estimated, “If it gets there on time — and if the convoy holds together as it has in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan — it could be 10 times larger than the world record,” for the longest convoy in history.
These are the results of a grassroots demonstration that has evolved into something far bigger than any of the organizers originally envisioned. I am reminded of Pope John Paul’s visit to Poland in the 80’s, when the solidarity movement first glimpsed the size of their unity. They took to the streets, looked around at the crowds, and realized for the first time there are more of us than them… and then things changed quickly. Hopefully for the Canadian people this convoy protest is a similar inflection point in history.
Despite a request from Wall Street multinational business groups impacted by the threat from the truckers, the administration of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced they will not relent in their effort to force vaccinations on unwilling truck drivers.
According to Canadian media, the efforts of the insignificant proles behind the big rig steering wheels are easily dispatched annoyances when contrast against the unlimited power of the federal government.
The truck drivers will kneel before the mighty power of the administrative state, or the truckers will be ignored; it matters not. In the bigger picture, a grassroots protest from Main Street (truckers) forces the multinationals to a position of vulnerability. CANADA – Business leaders are urging Ottawa to ease vaccine mandates for cross-border truckers to relieve the congested supply chain with the United States.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defended Monday the mandate as a necessary step to keep supply chains open, arguing that COVID-19 itself is the biggest risk to Canada’s economy. But in separate statements the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Manufacturing Coalition both urged him to back down.

However, do not be surprised if the Canadian government does not use law enforcement to try and stop their arrival. There are concerns within the industry that political ramifications might reflect badly. The Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA), a seemingly leftist organization within the trucking industry, is now taking a position against the convoy’s intent to confront the government.
The CTA is trying to get the truckers to abandon their effort and released a public statement telling them the vaccine mandate is permanent, irreversible and the Trudeau government will not cede an inch, so stop and go home.
Effective today, all U.S. and Canadian cross-border truckers must show their vaccination passport in order to deliver their loads. Approximately 15% of Canadian truckers and approximately 50% of U.S. truckers are not vaccinated. The logistics and distribution of food supplies into and out of Canada are collapsing.
Pay attention to the scale of impact in this example. It will only take a few days for this to go from a problem to a full-blown crisis of epic proportions.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) updated their guidance yesterday [LINK HERE] and put a hard date of tomorrow, January 22nd, for the trucker vaccine mandate at all border crossings and ferry terminals. Canada put the vaccine mandate into effect last week, January 15th.
[Dept. of Homeland Security] – [..] “Starting on January 22, 2022, the Department of Homeland Security will require that non-U.S. individuals entering the United States via land ports of entry or ferry terminals along our Northern and Southern borders be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and be prepared to show related proof of vaccination,” said Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas. “These updated travel requirements reflect the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to protecting public health while safely facilitating the cross-border trade and travel that is critical to our economy.”
These changes – which were first announced in October 2021 and made in consultation with the White House and several federal agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – will align public health measures that govern land travel with those that govern incoming international air travel.
