Mullin and Cotton Now See a Glidepath of Confirmation for Defense Sec Nominee Pete Hegseth

Appearing on the increasingly insufferable former news channel, both Senator Mullin and Senator Hegseth now see an increasingly optimistic future for Defense Secretary nominee, Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth’s hearing clearly showcased a worn-out playbook of resistance being deployed by the Democrats in the Senate.  Their foot stomping was childish and is increasingly positioning the Democrat Party as irrelevant in the larger picture of U.S politics.  Perhaps we are finally beyond the end of an error.  We can hope.

.

In the larger dynamic of American government, which more people now thankfully see as a grand pantomime, and while Mullin and Cotton are on the right side -at least optically- of the Hegseth nomination, their alignment with a perspective that government provides some larger value in the lives of Americans is still grossly out of place.

The mechanisms, systems and institutions of U.S. government, must be severely unmeshed from defining and influencing permitted activity by the American people.  The bureaucracy must be destroyed, if we are to have any reemergence of liberty.  This is a core issue now visible in the eyes of an awakened majority.

While I am thankful that Markwayne Mullin and Tom Cotton support the removal of the Marxism mindset from the military, that is only one facet of the larger governmental outlook that needs to be confronted.

Senator Markwayne Mullin Eviscerates Democrats on Armed Services Committee

I’m no fan of Senator Mullin at all; however, it is very rare (and awesome) for a Senator to break the code of Omerta in chamber.  At today’s Senate Armed Services Committee confirmation hearing, Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) blasted democrat committee members and called out their hypocrisy to their face.  WATCH:

.

Senator Tommy Tuberville’s faces are also funny.  The full segment with Senator Mullin is below.

Clearing Ground for the Narrative – FBI Delays Reports on VA Nominee Doug Collins and Interior Nominee Doug Burgum – Both Hearings Postponed

Nothing in DC is a coincidence when it happens at this level.

Doug Collins, Doug Burgum and Pete Hegseth were all scheduled for committee confirmation hearings today (January 14).  However, as noted in the statements and activity by Democrats in opposition, including Senator Chuck Schumer, they wanted to focus on targeting Hegseth first.

Well, what coincidentally happens?  The FBI reports on Collins and Burgum are coincidentally delayed, and as a result there will only be one confirmation hearing today… and that will be for Pete Hegseth.  Huh, imagine that?

WASHINGTON DC – The Senate confirmation hearing slated for Tuesday for President-elect Donald Trump’s pick to run the Department of Veterans Affairs, former Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), has been postponed to Jan. 21 — the latest snag for one of Trump’s selections.

Senate Veterans’ Affairs Chair Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) said in a statement Monday that Collins has submitted necessary paperwork in a “timely manner” and has been “transparent and forthcoming” with the panel. However, he added, the FBI has not finished its background check of the nominee, who was supposed to have his confirmation hearing on Tuesday morning.

It’s the second Trump selection in a single day to see their hearing delayed due to paperwork delays. Doug Burgum, Trump’s pick to run the Interior Department, was the first: He had been slated for a hearing Tuesday, too, but it was bumped to Thursday. (read more)

As noted by Politico: “The treatment of Hegseth — the most high-profile of Trump’s nominees to face senators — will also set the tone for how the rest of the picks will fare. This includes how hard Democrats are willing to push the nominees, and whether Republicans will come to their defense or let them squirm.”

Confirmations Hearings for Trump Cabinet Nominees Begin Tomorrow

Confirmation hearings for President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming cabinet are scheduled to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14th.

The senatorial snakes will each take up careful positioning.  Doug Collins for Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Doug Burgum for Secretary of the Interior, and Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense are each scheduled for confirmation hearings in the Senate tomorrow.

With committee passage strongly likely, former Congressman Doug Collins will likely garner more than 60 votes in the full Senate. Former Governor Doug Bergum will also likely glide through the committee review, with around 70 votes likely in the full Senate. However, Pete Hegseth is where the challenge will become first visible.

Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth is viewed as the first potential scalp to be taken in the upper chamber.   The first hurdle is getting out of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Chairman Roger Wicker (R-Miss) and Ranking Member Jack Reed (D-RI).

The full slate of Democrat members are likely to oppose Hegseth under the justification of his personal attributes not being of strong enough moral character to lead the military.  The women on the committee will face strong pressure to reject Hegseth due to perceived sexism and misconduct.  No one knows what the FBI background check has uncovered, but it will likely be shaped during the predictable confrontation.

National Security Advisor Mike Waltz Will Fire Entire National Security Council Effective 12:01pm 1/20/25 and Start Over With New Trump-Aligned Staff

Despite my reservations about Mike Waltz, this is the best approach.

During an interview with Breitbart News, incoming National Security Advisor Mike Waltz says the entire National Security Council is going to be removed from position and new staff assigned to the NSC. Every member is expected by the Trump administration to willingly resign at 12:01pm on inauguration day.

This is very much needed because the NSC is a petri dish for political manipulation of intelligence and policy depending on the ideological alignment with the NSC member. We have talked about this issue at length. The various silos of the DC intelligence and policy institutions send and embed ideologues in the NSC to represent their interests. The only way to deal with it correctly is to remove all of them and vet their replacements.

BREITBART NEWS – […] The way the NSC works is the National Security Advisor oversees a team of political appointees from the president who oversee a wide range of what are called “detailees”—people who work at the various agencies and departments across the federal government who are assigned, or detailed, to work at the White House for a period of time on the NSC in a portfolio in which they demonstrate expertise.

These career intelligence officials come from places as wide-ranging as the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the Pentagon, and other law enforcement and intelligence agencies, and report up to the political appointees atop each major portfolio in the NSC.

The NSC has various issue-specific portfolios like counterterrorism and cyber policy as well as regional portfolios focused on things like the western hemisphere or the Middle East or Europe or Asia. The detailees then help coordinate back to the various agencies and departments so the whole federal government executes on the decisions that the president makes.

… “[T]he folks that we’re bringing in are 100 percent aligned with the president’s agenda. Hell, the entire world seems to be aligned with his agenda if you just look at the outreach from world leaders and everybody who wants to come to Mar-a-Lago. So, there’s a little bit of a difference in that everybody was reflexively just against him [the first time] just for the sake of it and the Trump Derangement Syndrome was out of control in 2017.

Police Positively Identify Driver of Exploded Cyber Truck in Las Vegas as Matthew Livelsberger, 37, Active Duty Army

During an earlier press conference, the police were not 100% certain of the identity of the driver of the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded in front of Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas and were awaiting DNA verification.

The police have now confirmed the identity as Matthew Livelsberger, 37, an active-duty Army soldier who was based in Germany and home in the USA on leave.

(Via Reuters) […] the FBI said it was not yet clear if the blast was an act of terrorism. The FBI said it had so far found no definitive link between the New Year’s Day New Orleans truck attack that killed 15 people and the Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas later on the same day, which left seven people with minor injuries.

The Cybertruck driver was identified as Matthew Livelsberger, 37, an active-duty Army soldier from Colorado Springs, and police said he acted alone.

Livelsberger killed himself with a gunshot to the mouth, police said, citing a report from the Clark County Coroner/Medical Examiner, according to a post on X by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Senate Armed Services Committee Positioning to Leak FBI Report on Def Secretary Nominee Pete Hegseth

The Senate Armed Services Committee follows a tradition of the Chair and Vice-Chair reviewing the FBI report on Defense Secretary nominations, and then bringing the nomination to a full committee hearing and vote.

However, in an unprecedented move being discussed the Chairman Jack Reed, of Rhode Island, and the ranking member from Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker, are debating releasing the FBI report on Pete Hegseth to the full committee, thereby positioning the FBI report to be leaked to media.

Keep in mind, this is an “FBI investigative report,” and we already know the history of how the FBI uses their investigative authorities to influence, change and manipulate political outcomes.  If we drop the pretending, the FBI is a weaponized agency of DC government with the expressed intent to protect the interests of DC.

The only reason to widely distribute the FBI background investigation of Hegseth is so that someone can leak it to media.

WASHINGTON DC – At least a dozen senators are pushing to see the FBI’s background check on Pete Hegseth, Donald Trump’s embattled pick for Pentagon chief — a rare move for the committee that oversees his confirmation and a sign the former Fox News host still faces hurdles in the Senate.

Unlike some other committees, the Senate Armed Services usually limits access to these types of background checks to its two lead senators. But pressure is building from both Democrats and Republicans to provide more lawmakers with the ongoing report, whose contents could determine whether Hegseth makes it to the Pentagon.

“It would be helpful, given the allegations that have been lodged against Mr. Hegseth, to be able to see the FBI background check,” Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), a potential swing vote on Hegseth, said in an interview.

President Trump Highlights Ridiculous Nature of Drone Story

President Trump notes, “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge. I don’t think so!” via his Truth Social account.  And of course, the simplicity of calling out a nonsense fear narrative doesn’t fit the PERT chart.

CTH previously noted the absurdity of the story narratives around these “drones.”  Of course, the U.S. military know what these drones are and exactly what they are about.

Occam’s Razor applied essentially links back to this press release from 2023:

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NEW JERSEY, UNITED STATES, June 2, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ — An agreement to create a test and evaluation corridor for the development of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and automated Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) technologies was recently signed by officials representing U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), Air Mobility Command (AMC), the National Aerospace Research & Technology Park (NARTP), and the Atlantic County Economic Alliance (ACEA).

Defense Secretary Nominee Pete Hegseth Vows to Stay on Mission as Senate Navigates Tear Down against Will of The People

In the bigger picture, the U.S. Senate has been operating to control the military against the command of the President for multiple years.  The Intelligence Community is in general alignment with the core mission of weakening the Defense Department as part of the larger objective.

We have seen this approach in everything from the castration of General Petraeus to the advancement of wokeism.  The civilian leadership of the Defense Department, in combination with the influence of the U.S. Senate has led to a diminishment of mission priority. We have the outcomes through General Mattis, General H.R. McMaster, Lt Col Alexander Vindman, General James Kelly, all the way to Joint Chief’s Chairman Mark Milley; famously culminating in Milley collaborating with Chinese military leadership to undermine his own Commander-In-Chief, Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump has turned his focus to the “war fighters,” the men and women who carry out the mission objective of the Defense Department. The nomination of Pete Hegseth represents the confrontation of a power struggle that has been decades in coming.

The self-serving Senators are trying to block Hegseth, while maintaining a position of pretending support for President Trump.  The DeceptiCon republicans in the Senate are in full circling mode, looking for a weakness to exploit.

.

According to Hegseth he is firm on the mission priority.  President Trump is in full support and the schemes of the conniving Republican Senators, transparently visible in the efforts of Senator Jodi Ernst, who is circling the phalanx President Trump is creating – while simultaneously inserting herself into the DOGE mission.  Ernst is doing Mitch’s work, under the instructions from Thune and Mitch.  See Ernst with clear eyes.

WSJ Reporting President Trump Considering Replacing Hegseth with DeSantis

The transition drama is quite interesting.  Where interesting is actually a little funny.

According to “people familiar with the discussions,” President Trump is considering replacing Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, if the Hegseth nomination stalls due to GOPe Senate intransigence.

Wall Street Journal – President-elect Donald Trump is considering Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as a possible replacement for Pete Hegseth, his pick to run the Pentagon, according to people familiar with the discussions, amid Republican senators’ concerns over mounting allegations about the former Fox News host’s personal life.

Picking DeSantis, a 2024 GOP primary rival for the presidency, would amount to a stunning turn for Trump. But he would also find in the governor a well-known conservative with a service record who shares Trump’s—and Hegseth’s—view on culling what they see as “woke” policies in the military.
