Biden Cancels Previously Issued ANWR Oil and Gas Leases in Alaska

24 hours before Joe Biden announced he was cancelling all previously issued oil and gas leases in Alaska’s ANWR region, Saudi Arabia and Russia announced oil production limits would continue.  Oil prices spiked near $100/bbl and then Joe Biden amplifies the problem by cancelling previously sold oil and gas leases.

There’s no other way to look at the timing here, other than to accept this is Joe Biden intentionally driving up the cost of domestic energy in the U.S. and creating as much pain as possible.

(Reuters) – Sept 6 (Reuters) – The U.S. Interior Department on Wednesday said it would cancel oil and gas leases in a federal wildlife refuge that were bought by an Alaska state development agency in the final days of former President Donald Trump’s term.

President Joe Biden, a Democrat, has pledged to protect the 19.6 million-acre (7.9 million-hectare) Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) for polar bears and caribou.

“As the climate crisis warms the Arctic more than twice as fast as the rest of the world, we have a responsibility to protect this treasured region for all ages,” he said in a statement.

Hawaii Governor Josh Green Says More than 1,000 Still Missing in Maui – Many Are Children

Everything about the Maui fire is sketchy.  It was sketchy when it happened. It is sketchy in the aftermath, and it remains sketchy in the recovery stage.  The FBI, EPA and FEMA have essentially locked down the island, and there are reports of people being evicted who did not perish and did not lose their homes.

I’m not sure if the issues are related to systemically gross incompetence, nefarious constructs, a blue state with poor systems and weak leaders, or a combination of all the above.  However, what is abundantly clear is that the people of Maui are victims of more than just a massive wildfire.

Hawaii Gov. Josh Green appears on “Face the Nation” to tell Margareet Brennan that the failure of the now-resigned Maui Emergency Management Agency Administrator was “utterly unsatisfactory, to the world.” “Of course, as a person, as a father, as a doctor, I wish all the sirens went off,” Green said.  The governor also stated there are more than 1,000 people still missing and many of them are children.  He blames global warming. WATCH:

[Transcript] –  MARGARET BRENNAN: We go now to Hawaii’s Governor Joshua Green in Honolulu. Good morning. Thank you for getting up so early, and I’m so sorry for what is going on in your state.

GOV. JOSH GREEN: Thank you, Margaret.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Governor, can you tell us how many are still unaccounted for, and how long will it take to identify remains?

GOV. GREEN: More than 1000 are unaccounted for, about 1050. It will take several weeks, still, some of the challenges are going to be extraordinary. As you reported, 85% of the- of the land of the impact zone has been covered now by what amounts to an army of search and rescue teams and 41 dogs. So 85% of the land has been covered. Now we go into the larger buildings, which require peeling back some of the floors and structures. That last 15% could take weeks. We do have extreme concerns that because of the temperature of the fire, the remains of those who have died, in some cases, may be impossible to recover meaningfully. So, there are going to be people that are lost forever. And right now, we’re working obviously with the FBI and everyone on the ground to make sure that we do what we can to assess who’s missing.

Interior Secretary Deb Haaland Testifies It’s Better to Get Rid of Jobs in USA, Live in Poverty and Save the Planet – Even if Rest of The World Doesn’t Do It

Around 15 years ago CTH outlined the inclusive goal of the progressive movement, modern Democrats as they were evolving, was to deconstruct the U.S. economic system so that Americans would be forced to live in government-controlled poverty. Essentially reduced to circling a campfire, eating sustainable algae cakes and picking parasites off our family members.

Most people understandably scoffed and said we were being hyperbolic.  However, what we were highlighting was the natural conclusion of a visible ideology and set of policies.  The modern democrat ideology is based on a worldview that feudalism is superior, and Democrats are elite in their global magnanimity (defined as their virtuous self image).

Fast forward a decade+ later, and there is Joe Biden’s Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland, explaining why it is better for the health of the planet if Americans lose their jobs, lose their economic sustainability, starve in feudal poverty, as the virtuous government ships all the dirty jobs to China and retains their clean pro-climate agenda.   In Haaland’s defense, it should be noted that this has been the policy of Canada for quite a while.  WATCH:

Video – Erin Brockovich Speech to Residents of East Palestine, Ohio

One of the most well-known people who faced down big chemical corporations and won, is activist Erin Brockovich.  Yesterday she traveled to East Palestine, Ohio, to meet and discuss the issues of the 2/3/23 chemical spill with residents at a Town Hall meeting. {Direct Rumble Link}

Ms. Brockovich delivered a message to the audience about relying on their instincts, seeing the issues as they are and not as the officials would present them to be.  Brockovich’s words are grounded in a different type of advice, the advice of trusting the natural God given gifts of discernment that we carry.  She’s right, and it is very unusual to see a high-profile person emphasize this aspect.  WATCH:

Mrs. Eric Brockovich essentially says, ignore “trust us”, and instead “trust yourselves.” That’s quite an empowering message being delivered to the community of East Palestine, Ohio.

NTSB Releases Results of Preliminary Investigation of East Palestine, Ohio, Train Derailment – No Human Error – Video

UPDATE: I’m sticking this to the top of the page for a little while, because there is excellent feedback in the comments section.  Awesome job with some granular detail.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released the preliminary findings from its investigation of the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment. (video below)

There were three locomotives and 149 rail cars. Before the train derailed Feb. 3, the crew received a warning telling them to immediately slow and stop the train to conduct an inspection.  It was during the deceleration that a railcar carrying plastic pellets had a wheel bearing failure, according to NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy.  [Bullet Point Video, WATCH]

Thirty-eight cars derailed and fire damaged an additional 12 cars.  Five tanker cars carry 115,580 gallons of vinyl chloride were part of the group that derailed.  Vinyl Chloride is a flammable and toxic gas used to make PVC pipe.  The initial fire was the result of the hot axle and the plastic pellets in the railcar.  According to Mrs. Homendy, there was no evidence the three-person train crew did anything wrong. She said the NTSB, so far, hasn’t identified any operational issues with the defect detectors or railroad tracks.

EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (AP) — Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday criticized the federal response to the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, as a “betrayal” during a visit to the village where residents and local leaders are increasingly frustrated more than two weeks after the disaster.

Trump, wearing his trademark red “Make America Great Again” cap and an overcoat, said the community needs “answers and results,” not excuses. He spoke at a firehouse roughly half a mile from where more than three dozen freight cars — including 11 carrying hazardous materials — came off the tracks near the Pennsylvania state line.

Strange Stuff – Two Weeks After East Palestine Toxic Chemical Spill, EPA Administrator Tells CNN Site Not Safe for EPA Workers

I missed this a few days ago; however, given the “official” narrative that East Palestine, Ohio, water and air are safe it seems rather contradictory for EPA Administrator Michael Regan to tell CNN’s Erica Hill two weeks later that things might not be safe for EPA officials.

I mean seriously, what the heck is the message here?  And the state and federal officials wonder why the residents of the area would have concerns about being told everything is safe.  In this soundbite (prompted to the question at 07:39) CNN’s Erica Hill speaks with EPA administrator Michael Regan and asks him if things are safe.  The hedge and qualifiers are off the charts alarming. WATCH:

.

Yikes.  Never has “we are from the government, and here to help” seemed sketchier.  Even the CNN lady doesn’t seem to be buying what EPA Administrator Regan is selling.

Hours After Trump Announces Upcoming Visit to East Palestine, FEMA Reverses Course and Will Support Ohio Community

The announcement by President Trump with his intent to visit East Palestine next Wednesday, followed moments later by a reversal announcement from FEMA stating they will now offer support to East Palestine, do not seem coincidental.

The Biden administration, including the EPA, FEMA and Transporation Secretary, was likely very worried about the optics of getting blasted by President Trump very visibly next week for their lack of urgency and concern.   Moments after Trump announces his visit, FEMA reverses their prior denial of aid. lol

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Just hours after saying he “[did] not expect” members of the Federal Emergency Management Agency to be in East Palestine, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine now confirms the government entity will, in fact, be sending a crew to assist with the aftermath of the train derailment in the village.

In a joint statement released Friday night, DeWine and FEMA Regional Administrator Thomas C. Sivak said the agency would deploy a Regional Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT) to Columbiana County starting Saturday, along with a senior response official. The workers will “support ongoing operations, including incident coordination and ongoing assessments of potential long-term recovery needs.”
