Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis has a lot to celebrate today as the sunshine state becomes the lowest state in the U.S. for COVID cases with a rate of 9 per 100k residents.

Within the data, the state also reports 147,000 Floridians have received monoclonal antibody treatments at 25 locations throughout the state.  Those treatment centers are available for anyone who is diagnosed by a positive COVID test, and it is making a significant difference in hospitalizations.  Well done DeSantis!

The New York Post has an excellent expose’ [See Here] showcasing just how manipulative the legislative tricks are within the mega-trillion dollar human infrastructure and Build Back Better bill.

As anticipated by most political observers, the Democrats are using budgetary tricks to avoid the Congressional Budget Office putting a real price tag on their legislation.  The article is easy to understand even though the legislative tricks are far beyond anything any congress has ever attempted.

Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema for balking at the original $3.5 trillion price tag, congressional Democrats are finally accepting reality and paring President Biden’s social welfare package to between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion over the decade.

Does this mean they are responsibly removing the bill’s worst provisions and crafting fiscally sustainable legislation? Of course not!

Instead, welcome to the gimmick Olympics, where progressives are using classic accounting tricks to hide the true cost of the bill.

This evening Senator Josh Hawley released an email (via Twitter) showing the evacuation guidelines given by the administration to the U.S. officials on the ground in Kabul Afghanistan.  The email details quoted instructions to Gregory A Floyd from someone in the administration speaking on behalf of Joe Biden.

As noted by Hawley: “This email was shared w/ me by an American official present in Afghanistan during the evacuation who was shocked by Administration’s failure to vet Afghans before they were evacuated. Email details orders from Joe Biden to fill up the planes – even without vetting:”

President Biden phoned Ambassador Wilson with the following directive about who to clear to board evacuation flights.

 “1. Anyone with a valid form of ID should be given permission to go on a plane if that person plausibly falls into the categories we will evacuate: U.S. citizens and LPRs plus their immediate families, LES plus their immediate families, those entitled to an SIV, and Afghans at risk.

2.  Families including women and children should be allowed through and held to fill out planes.

3.  Total inflow to the U.S. must exceed the number of seats available.  Err on the side of excess.”

This guidance provides clear discretion and direction to fill seats and to provide special consideration for women and children when we have seats. I expect that C17 flight volume will increase.

… That concern is now evident.  As if, it wasn’t before.   The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) highlights, in a single marketing and branding snapshot today [Tweet Link], that cultural politics is the underlying ideological premise behind their policy.   The CDC fundamental mission is not about science, it’s about something else.

These are marketing and branding decisions made by institutional officials inside the top tiers of the organization itself.  In the middle of a pandemic, where a large portion of population has questions about how the CDC politicizes science, this vaccine marketing example passes all layers of approval from within the institution. 

When an organization shows you their priority, accept it.

Beyond the hypocrisy leftists are known for; in this example pregnancy now highlighted as an actual human baby, which is a cornerstone the same cultural leftists deny; the message being transmitted in their marketing is: yes, cultural politics drives our public health policy.

When the Australian government began beating their citizens in the street for leaving their houses and protesting against severe lockdown rules, I said –somewhat tongue in cheek at the time– to watch Vladimir Putin (Russia) and Xi Jinping (China) trigger U.N. security council sanctions against the Australian government for human rights abuses.

The point I was making earlier was to highlight a danger.  If Western governments continued to devolve into totalitarian regimes, global autocratic leaders will take the opportunity to exploit vulnerabilities created by such open undemocratic hostility toward the principles of freedom.

Putin, Xi and the Mullahs in Iran can easily enlarge their global influence if citizens in formerly free democratic nations react to western COVID mandates by rightly and appropriately rebuking their national and regional leadership.

CONSIDER– What population inside a western democracy is going to want to fight Russian or Chinese geopolitical aggression when they view their own national leaders through the same totalitarian prism?

Think about it carefully, because we are at this inflection point.

♦Ex. If China takes military action against Taiwan, and the leaders of France, Germany, the U.K, Australia and the United States want to do something about it, their internal credibility accounts are overdrawn.  Western populations writ large will not support those requests, because the citizens no longer view those leaders through the prism of freedom, liberty and democracy.   This is the current situation.  This is the danger western leaders ignored when they jumped into their totalitarian COVID mindset.

Earlier today White House Press Secretary Jennifer Psaki falsely claimed a United States President can do nothing about gasoline prices.  This is an oft familiar claim by the political left, it is also one of the more transparently false assertions in their arsenal of deceit.  First, WATCH:

So what can a U.S. President and administration specifically do?

We have abundant U.S. energy resources.  Quite literally the strongest in the entire world.

• Permit the use of preexisting approved leases in ANWAR (Alaska) to put more volume into the Alaskan oil pipeline that is severely underutilized.
• Finish the Dakota access pipeline.
• Re-approve the preexisting energy leases in New Mexico, Arizona, NE Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.
• Retract the stoppage of the Keystone pipeline to permit efficient oil transport shipments from Canada.
• Stop blocking the expansion of coastal oil refineries in Texas, Louisiana and Alabama (regulatory issue), as well as Northwest, Northeast and Southeast Seaboard.
• Continue to develop natural gas as a clean burning fuel.
• Drive Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as an export.

None of this requires any approval from OPEC.  Strategically the all of the above approach enhances U.S. national security and diminishes the influence of Russia, China and Iran.  Within six months of the above, gasoline will plummet.

Hollywood actor, producer and political activist Alec Baldwin is a man of notoriously intemperate disposition.   Prone to angry outbursts and uncontrollable anger, the unstable Mr. Baldwin is well known for physical and verbal violence against people he dislikes {link} even his own children.

Yesterday the 68-year-old Baldwin shot two people on a film set in New Mexico killing one and seriously injuring another.  Mr Baldwin killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza.  The unstable actor claims he shot them accidentally and has reportedly said he is sorry to the husband of the deceased woman he killed.

According to Sheriff’s department spokesman Juan R. Rios, “Mr. Baldwin met with investigators and provided a statement and answered their questions. Employees at the General Electric Complex in Greenville, South Carolina, along with 750 GE employees in Ohio, conducted a walk out around 10:45am Thursday to protest the company’s vaccine mandate.  Media have mostly been silent except for a few local reports.

As just about everything falls apart due to intended outcomes from Biden policy, it is increasingly obvious the water carriers for the regime are struggling to find new ways to defend the White House.  However, a recent approach seems to have gained traction and was noted by Tucker Carlson tonight.

Instead of the media and White House defending the high gas prices, massive food price increases, fuel costs, home heating costs, energy costs, and empty shelves as a result of regulatory strangleholds and poor policy, the narrative engineers are now telling everyone to “lower their expectations” for what things should be.   That way if you walk into a supermarket and there is an apple for sale, you will be surprised at the apple and avoid noticing hundreds of feet of empty shelves.
