The Trade Battlefield Has Been Prepped – Now We Fight…

Within the dynamic of the U.S -vs- China trade confrontation, CTH has long noted the Wall Street (globalist) multinationals would always go bananas.  There are trillions at stake and President Trump is confronting three decades of financial influence from Wall Street’s multinational corporate lobbyists.

To the angst of Wall Street, POTUS Trump tweets the dynamic.

President Trump will not back down from his position; the U.S. holds all of the leverage and the issue must be addressed.  President Trump has waited three decades for this moment.  Main Street U.S.A has waited for this moment.  This President and his team are entirely prepared for this battle…. Now we fight!

We are finally confronting the geopolitical Red Dragon, China!

President Trump has been brutally consistent for more than three decades on his intent and purpose with the Chinese.  President Trump is the first U.S. President to understand how the red dragon hides nefarious motives behind the panda mask.

Additionally, while carrying out the objectives of the confrontation, Secretary Mnuchin, Secretary Ross, Ambassador Lighthizer and adviser Peter Navarro are well aware of Beijing’s duplicitous panda mask; POTUS Trump will never let them forget about it.

The Eagle and the Arrow – An Aesop’s Fable

…An Eagle was soaring through the air. Suddenly it heard the whizz of an Arrow, and felt the dart pierce its breast. Slowly it fluttered down to earth. Its lifeblood pouring out. Looking at the Arrow with which it had been shot, the Eagle realized that the deadly shaft had been feathered with one of its own plumes.

Moral: We often give our enemies the means for our own destruction.

Some call it ‘Globalism vs Nationalism’, at other times it is best described as “Wall Street -vs- Main Street”; however, the overarching bigger picture is a battle over economics and the international financial power structures that oppose President Trump.

CTH has often said ‘everything is about the economics’, because it is. Ask the ‘why’ question five times to any issue and you will find the root issue is money.  Power, greed and control, it is all about the money and the economics.

Opposition to President Trump’s singularly unique and transformational reset of the global trade system boils down to a battle against the financial ‘Big Club’.

Multinationals, billionaires and lobbyists within the DC UniParty system spend hundreds-of-millions in opposition to President Trump’s MAGA agenda. That agenda, that economic agenda, is the existential threat to the Big Club’s grip on power.

In the ‘globalist’ multinational, Wall Street dynamic, the Big Club DNC donor base and the Big Club RNC donor base also have mutual self interests. Within this dynamic, President Trump is their unified opposition.

Everything is about the economics.

The Big Club opposition to President Trump is based on financial best-interest. That opposition is not bound to a political party ideology. It is an ideology based on economics. In essence, this is a structural economic battle that is being waged politically.

Decades of financial and monetary policy were intentionally structured to the benefit of the BIG CLUB and the multinational Wall Street alliance represented by U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue. This is not a Republican -vs- Democrat issue; this is a larger confrontation between those who hold financial power and a singular person, President Donald Trump, who is determined to remove that grip.

President Trump is fracturing the multinational corporate ‘controlled market’, and his trade policies are beginning to reconstitute supply and demand pricing in a nationalist market.

Yes, President Trump, the man and his policy team, is an existential threat to the elitist hierarchy of things well beyond the borders of the DC Swamp. In the era of explaining the complex it’s a planetary economic reset almost too massive and consequential to encapsulate in words.

There are massive international corporate and financial interests who are inherently at risk from President Trump’s “America-First” economic and trade platform. Believe it or not, President Trump is up against an entire world economic establishment.

He will win.

We chose him.

I disagree that the battlefield is anywhere close to fully prepped. We need to revoke student visas for Chinese and forbid Chinese from purchasing real estate in the USA. That will hit the Chinese elites right where it hurts.

Never fight inconsequential skirmishes when you can wait to fight consequential battles.
For example, let Chinese students come here then offer them jobs—Chinese brain drain. For example, let Chinese purchase second homes here. Their Money flows to USA, but they cannot move their homes back to China.

I understand your point, but we can not under estimate the sacrifice by the American public, which buoy these types of strategic policies.

H1B drags down wages. Cash home purchase drive the housing costs above wages.
        I know you understand this.

        Actually, I think not.
There is a deep, centuries long animosity between Korea and Japan. Goes back to the 1592-6 Japan military conquest of Korea, which was then ‘rescued’ by China’s Ming dynasty. (China/Japan animosity was always greater, and NOT helped by Nanjing 1937).

So, as the joint threat of NoKo lessens, the historical mutual animosity between SoKo and Japan grows more evident. IMO a sign that PDJT is succeeding with NoKo; a successful therapy side effect, if you will.

    • Let us pray, that some of the steel that lived in our father’s backbones during the Great Depression, WWII and calamities far worse, far more bloody with far more consequence sees life in our spines as well. Confronting our own greed in lieu of our compassion for our neighbors, who over these last decades, lost 7,000,000 jobs from the closure of 70,000 factories is not just the right thing to do, it is the ONLY thing to do.

Chasing the economic dreams inspired by a Chinese Chimera has been a stanchion of our economic Foreign Policy that has literally and figuratively hooked us on drugs. 30 years is a micro-blink in time, yet, the danger is real and the enemies, foreign and domestic are malevolent, serious and existentially evil. We need time, patience and fortitude from Main Street Americans who still care for their neighbors as much as our forefathers cared for theirs.

“‘He which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made.”

I stand with the CTH Patriots, in line and in league behind our President and unleveraged by the wet by every rain, blown by every wind, left, who would bend at the knee for any executioner.

      God Bless America!

Yup! We’re living in interesting times, and I for one feel privileged to be alive to see it after a working lifetime (now retired) in the so-called high-tech-manufacturing industries (tape/disc drive manufacturing). I 1st-hand witnessed/helped off-shoring (ultimately to China) of jobs, including eventually my own. Couldn’t help but ponder at the economic/geo-political forces driving it, and came (long ago) “generally to Sundance’s worldview” long before I stumbled into the Treehouse January 2018.

The future’s tough to predict because it’s unknown (har!), but PDJT’s MAGA-plan/unleashed-forces are almost certainly going to be to both the USA’s and the world’s general, longer-term benefit, so long as the power bosses at the CCP don’t do something suicidally stupid involving nuclear exchanges.

PDJT has quickly rebuilt the military. He has allowed the rapid strengthening of the US domestic economy with deregulation, full energy independence, and more favorable tax rates. He has cut off the trade backdoors of NAFTA. He has prepared a ring of alternative bi-lateral trading backstops in that region. He is keeping the Fed from further rate hike betrayals by keeping a heavy spotlight on it. He has drawn all of Main Street America’s enemies out into the open. They are legion, but they are all tethered to China, and they will rise or fall with that albatross.

It may be a Big Club, but this President miraculously has them surrounded.

China has few palatable options remaining. They are quickly running out of dollars. So I agree with Sundance on this. The time to bring this to a head is right now. America now holds all the winning cards in this match. It is now or never, geopolitically.

President Trump has railed on China for 3 decades or more. I remember hearing him talk about China when Perot was running against Bush. China has been robbing us since I was a kid. I remember factories being closed down in the garment making area of Philadelphia where I lived. An old man told me they were shipping the factory over to China. I thought he was nuts but, I learned he was telling the truth. I fully support our President and firmly agree that companies should come back to the USA. China is a communist country bent on overtaking our country and subjugating our citizens.

My great-grandmother, a first generation legal immigrant, worked in those Philly textile mills early in the last century. I remember her buying a room air conditioner in the early 1960s to keep visiting family children cool, and paying for it with jars of quarters, carefully saved over many years. Such was the ethic of that generation.

The Philadelphia region was once home to many great American companies: Philco, RCA, Baldwin, the Frankford Arsenal, and so many others. Philadelphia was once an industrial bee hive. While the erosion had started in the 1970s, that great sucking sound that Ross Perot warned of was not suffered harder than throughout Pennsylvania and into southern NY. The genesis of multinational globalism and America’s industrial and Main Street dismantling began in the 60s, but reached full open-season with NAFTA and China’s admission into the WTO.

This is a fight I have waited for for many decades. I knew the moment that PDJT vowed to end NAFTA that he had won the entire rust belt and the 2016 election was his to lose. He has been entrusted with a sacred and historic mission. In that larger battle to restore American economic nationalism and end globalism, 2016 will likely prove to be merely a warm up act. He needs all of our support, and all of our prayers.

I first wrote about the China (and India, and even California/Arizona) water problem in ebook Gaia’s Limits published early 2012 after nearly three years of research. Devoted an entire chapter to water. Is more complicated than portrayed by the piece cited, but the cited conclusion is still directionally correct ignoring ‘virtual water’.
Hint: The water logic flaw is in the official UN definition of ‘available water’. China rejects ‘virtual water’ when it rejects US agricultural imports. Very foolish of them.

I would like to echo the sentiments of the majority here; with respect to The President and Sundance.

          The BEST of Times!
          INDEED!!!

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe’s couplets:
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!

I am reminded of the Temple Priests, Sadducees, and Pharisees. They had strict rules and regulations for the masses but seemed to bend and twist them grossly in their favor for any economic and political advantages for themselves. ‘Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.’” Luke 12:1 Mathew 16:6
The Sadducees were inseparably bound to the external political, social, and especially the temple-centered institutions of Judaism. With the destruction of the Jewish state and temple in a.d. 70, they passed into the pages of history. In Christianity, Jesus is the Savior. If you are thirsty; Jesus is water. Hungry; food is Jesus. Tired; Rest, and so on. No I am not saying Trump is Jesus or is like Jesus. But what he is accomplishing, his actions, can be seen as a reprieve, at least for a while, for America from globalists and communism.

I keep using arguments along the lines of “Why should we want big pharma to set our drug prices so exorbitantly high and have them made in China anyway so they can pocket the difference?” And “The left is very confused because on the one hand they condemn China’s human right splices and intellectual property theft, but here we hear voices championing China and wanting to create a manufactured stock market recession- why?” I also push hard about these deals only enriching large conglomerates while the middle class suffers.. etc.

Assuming the best case, that Trump fully wins the trade wars on behalf of Main Street, I am still reminded of Franklin’s quote after the Constitution was ratified, that we have a Republic, IF we can keep it.

Trump is unique, and uniquely qualified.

    But what comes after?

There are so many forces arrayed against his agenda, can a win in trade be sustained after he is gone?

Nothing is permanent. The destructive NAFTA wasn’t. USMCA won’t be either. Nor any China agreement.

To have any shot of holding onto any of this, we need to burn down the existing DNC establishment and send them to jail, and to true the vote. Scant progress in either of those.

And don’t ignore the Rep establishment either.

Not because I see a Dem candidate with true appeal, because I don’t.

But the “anyone but Trump” vote is too big to ignore. The forces arrayed against him are substantial …. Dem Establishment, Rep Establishment, the fringe Dem wing, every foreign govt who has had their chains yanked. The Intel community. The Disrupted has disrupted, and the disruptee ain’t happy about it.

I think the vote fraud in 2018 was astonishingly high, but in 2020 I expect it to become severe. Its one thing to win the vote, and quite another to win the “count”.

And then you have the House. I’m not seeing any signs of a Red Wave to take that back.

Then you have the Senate. That’s a nail-biter.

At the pace Barr is taking with indictments, a Dem AG could kill that in an instant. Time is running out.

Pretty sure the President knows he can’t order businesses to begin looking for alternatives to China, but I see his turn of the phrase as a two-fold purpose,

The first, using the word “order” means something to the communist mind, to be taken seriously against whatever it was they were trying to pull behind the scenes in their negotiations, so it was meant for them to understand that whatever it was they were trying to pull the President just gave a no way to misconstrue NO.

The second is basically a heads-up to US businesses to get serious and protect their business interests by having a back-up in place because it won’t be too long before things get very real.

For example since 99% of fentanyl and 50% of heroin come from China President Trump can ban any and all shipments from Chinese ports. He can restrict common carriers like FedEx and UPS from making deliveries to and from China. An embargo on all shipments from China would end US investment there!

Love the change of language from “tariff” to “tax”
Tariff connects to trade war. We are in the “tariffs effect on US consumer” battlefield,
But, Tax is something we are familiar with. We all get taxed. Except China, they get tariffed.
So, the logic goes, change tariff to tax. That’s something everybody here is subject to. if WE are being taxed, China better damn well be taxed to. It makes the trade war personal.

Claws of The Red Dragon trailer (2019)
    23 Aug 2019

    https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-08-23/steve-bannon-hopes-steel-trumps-resolve-new-film-about-huawei

New film based on arrest of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou exposes company’s lies and political intimidation, as CEO says they face “life or death crisis.”

Like Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has deep roots in Hollywood. And with the trade war with China now in full swing, Bannon has helped produce a dramatization of the conflict with Huawei that he hopes will help convince President Trump to stick to his guns, Bloomberg reports.

The film, entitled “Claws of the Red Dragon”, warily approaches the arrest of Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou, who was arrested late last year by Canadian police after landing in Vancouver.

In particular, the film focuses on Beijing’s retaliation – that is, the arrest of a former Canadian diplomat, and a businessman who ran tours of North Korea for curious westerners, both of whom have been charged with espionage. Bannon told BBG that he hopes the film will convince Trump that Huawei must be shut down, and that it will help “steel Trump’s resolve”.

Bannon’s timing couldn’t be better, seeing as the administration granted Huawei another reprieve earlier this month as US markets logged some of their worst trperfo

“The central issue in the 2020 presidential campaign is going to be the economic war with China: manufacturing jobs, currency, capital markets and technology,” Bannon said in an interview. “Huawei is a key part of that, and this film will highlight why it must be shut down.”

Unlike most of Bannon’s earlier films, which were primarily documentaries about conservative icons like Ronald Reagan, as well as Bannon’s take on the factors that contributed to the financial crisis, “Claws of the Red Dragon” is a dark drama featuring professional actors.

“One of my objectives is to get a screening for President Trump at the White House,” Bannon said.

For too long we have seen out nation gutted, factories closed, main street stores shuttered. Those good paying high tech jobs they promised would replace that never materialized. Even the low paying jobs have been taken by illegal immigrants. The American people finally have had enough.
