Wow, watched the video. Germany requires paper ballots and identification; however, mail-in ballots are still acceptable.
On election day, the afD received over 50% of the vote (doubling their take from 5 years ago), yet when the mail-in ballots were counted, the afD’s final tally was about 44% overall. Interestingly, the other 7 political parties ALL increased their percentages while only the afD lost ground with mail-in ballots.
Call me cynical, but isn’t it interesting that only the afD failed to benefit from mail-in balloting?

Chancellor Merz reminds me of the Soviet submarine commander in the “Hunt for Red October” (Captain Tupolev) chasing Captain Ramius (portrayed by Sean Connery). Towards the end of the film, Captain Tupolev fires a torpedo that circles around and sinks his own submarine. This is what Germany’s disastrous “no energy” policy is doing to their country.
Difference: Tupolev realized he made a big mistake moments before he went kaboom. His bridge had cautioned him.
Merz and his bridge want life for ordinary Germans to go kaboom. All according to plan.

I did the math! The AfD received over two and a half times as many votes as the CDU, (the ruling party that Merz heads), and five times as many votes as the Greens, (and no one names their party the Greens if they’re a fan of fossil fuels, right?).
Yet this is the party the European elites are calling far-right?

AFD has said they want to normalize relations with Russia, close their open borders, and presumably be against any NATO action against Russia.
This could be EU and NATO collapse, especially if the US is instrumental in ending the Ukraine war and forging a strategic alliance with Russia and inevitably Germany.
