MAGAnomics – April Jobs Report: +263,000, Unemployment Rate 3.6%, Wage Growth +3.2%…

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) releases the April 2019 jobs report and the results are excellent.  It’s a home run for MAGAnomics as the trifecta continues: Job gains +263,000, Wage growth +3.2%, Inflation low at 1.4%.

With a gain of 263,000 new jobs in April, the overall unemployment rate dropped to 3.6%.  There are more jobs available than people looking for work.  Additionally, the prior two months jobs results were revised upward by 16,000 more than previous reported.

  • Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 263,000 in April, compared with an average monthly gain of 213,000 over the prior 12 months.
  • Professional and business services added 76,000 jobs in April. Over the past 12 months, professional and business services has added 535,000 jobs
  • In April, construction employment rose by 33,000. Construction has added 256,000 jobs over the past 12 months.
  • Employment in health care grew by 27,000 in April and 404,000 over the past 12 months.
  • In April, average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm payrolls rose by 6 cents to $27.77. Over the year, average hourly earnings have increased by 3.2 percent.

(WAGES B-8)

MAGAnomics: Low unemployment (3.6%); wages growing (+3.2%); inflation stable (1.4%). These measures all have a cumulative impact on paycheck-to-paycheck Americans. Prices for durable goods are stable and wage growth is exceeding inflation. That means more disposable income in the middle-class. Which, when combined with the increased pay from lower middle-class tax rates, is exactly the intended outcome of MAGAnomics.

Last week’s consumer spending results for the first quarter defied expectations.  Consumer spending on goods increases 1.7%. Overall spending +.09 in March, reaches highest gain in ten years. The deplorables are spending their higher wages.  Meanwhile core inflation drops to 1.4%.  The pundits are shocked.  This is Main Street growth and economic stability; this is not, repeat NOT, Wall Street growth.

We are in the period where exporting U.S. wealth (globalist policies) has been slowed/halted.  We are confronting protectionist tariffs abroad which impede our exports, and simultaneously applying reciprocal tariffs toward those who want access to our U.S. market.  As a consequence, capital investment is returning to Main Street USA (nationalist policy).  This is the heart of MAGAnomic policy.

Low unemployment; rising wages; stable inflation and resurging U.S. blue-collar manufacturing is the key (steel/aluminum tariffs assisting).

This internal dynamic means the U.S. consumer can fuel the the U.S. economy while President Trump, Secretary Ross, Secretary Mnuchin and Ambassador Robert Lighthizer utilize the leverage of tariffs, to negotiate better America-First trade deals.

We have not had the benefit of this blue-collar economic success in the past 30+ years because corrupt multinational interests were paying and bribing -via lobbyists- politicians and public officials within DC for policies that primarily benefited Wall Street.  Those policies blocked Main Street growth and U.S. wealth; and exported jobs and incomes to foreign nations. President Donald J Trump has stopped this process.

The Democrats will fight much tougher this time for working-class white votes with pandering like you’ve never seen before. It’s all about Pennsylvania. Knock Pennsylvania back into the Blue column and the Democrats have a much better shot.

I associate Bernie with Mensheviks’ “softer kind of Socialist/Communist State ”, all carrots, no stick, and their grim fate, a perspective unfamiliar to my circle of Sanders Progressives.

To the naive, frustrated & vulnerable, Bernie has mystique. He presents as a wise visionary, a weathered champion of the public good. Somehow this unreconstructed professional leftist has fused this with his followers unspoken longing for a benign patriarchal leader .
Their emotional guard is down, whereas if one suggests other candidates of his political ilk, often spectacled Left Wing ranters, they shy away, with no coherent reason.

Senator B.S.’s Fix It Kits package includes a centralised command state. I’m uncertain if his supporters fully understand that.,

My concern is that there is a plan to use the fed to crash the economy right befor the presidential election again. That would be hard to do with Herm Cain or Steven Moore on the board. That would explain the desperate measures that were taken to kill both of their nominations.

I think this is a definite possibility! When Sarah Palin came onboard the McCain ticket in 2008 and their numbers started climbing, the Ds had to fall back on Plan B which was to crash the economy. John McCain played his role – he took a powder and let his campaign destroy his VP. I believe W and Cheney knew what happened but they were too afraid to speak up. Donald Trump watched it all and he is probably more prepared than we can even imagine to make sure it doesn’t happen again!

This economic policy and its successes is the base for everything else for our, and within our, Constitutional Republic. Prosperity for all “classes.” Opportunities for success for all “classes.” Plenty of opportunity for entrepreneurial creativity – from all classes. Freedom for competition again and trying out new ideas.

The attempts to shut us down have been mind-boggling. Yet here is President Trump busy-beavering away (in his own brilliant style) and America is responding in its usual way — lots of prosperity and freedom.

America does not work without this foundation. It is this foundation due to limited and representational government — national, state, and local, elected by law-abiding citizens — that makes us the most attractive county in the world. We need to continue to work on secure borders so that this model can continue.

Thanks to Sundance for continual education on economic matters and economic/financial foundations. There will be thousands of newly educated Americans with the equivalent of an MBA from following TheConservativeTreehouse.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

Prosperity that spans the socio-ecomomic ladder is absolute kryptonite to the elitists, race hustlers, class warfare artists, prog lefties, socialist/communist apologists, and the globalists simply because it, by itself, debunks every one of their proposals, facts, anecdotes, whatever. A secondary benefit is that it re-affirms self-sufficiency, independence, entrepreneurial risk taking, and individual liberty. When we can generate our own means of achieving and obtaining the things we want/need, we do not need the gov’t.

MAGA is the modern extension of the tenants our fore-fathers laid out for this great nation and people.

    Question 1: Is this true?
Question 2: What is a typical number of people leaving the workforce?

Not True, people are not leaving the work force they are able to move now to get new jobs and on Bloom burg this morning they were talking about another un truth about how income inequality has never been higher than it is now, Not true.

The old Gov of Ohio was on one of the stations this morning rattling off his nonsense about how people are scared about what will happen tomorrow and all that junk that comes out of his mouth all the time. some one needs to feed that rat and shut them all up
I did have the pleasure this morning for the first time to listen to almost two hours of Rush L on the radio going to town shopping and I really found a lot to laugh about by the time he was finished really great to listen too

This country is moving on for the first time in a very long time, and I am just so proud of
Our President and all of the people who support him, We have been slandered a lot but being apart of something this great, I wouldn’t care if they continue to call me all kinds of names The little town where I go to shop is full of people and usually this time of year all the snow birds are leaving for cooler weather and the jet skis kids come to spend the weekends but gone by Monday so almost too quiet all summer there are more black and Hispanics here too that seem to be staying.

Partially because of retiring baby boomers, but the economy is still staying in balance.

snip from Market Watch regarding participation.

      “What explains the decline?

The most likely cause is rapid retirements of baby boomers, whose ranks are dwindling faster than the number of younger people entering the labor force. Slower economic growth earlier in the year may have also discouraged some people from looking for jobs.

Not to worry, most economists say. The size of the labor force can jump up and down, they point out, and it rarely should be taken at face value in any one month. What matters is the long-term trend.

“The labor force numbers bounce around like crazy, so don’t make too much of that drop or the decline in the labor force participation rate,” said economist Joel Naroff of Naroff Economic Advisors.

By virtually every measure, in fact, the labor market is still the strongest in decades. Unemployment and layoffs are at a 50-year low, wages are rising and open jobs easily tops the number of unemployed workers.”

Read last week social security took in a record # of revenue. If only we can get Congress to stop their wasteful spending. They have a use it or lose it on their budgets. So at end of fiscal year they blow it on a bunch of useless stuff. Like millions in crab & lobster. We could have built the wall

      snip

“Our OpenTheBooks oversight report on the fiscal year 2018 use-it-or-lose-it spending spree quantified $97 billion in contracts signed during the month of September.

In the final seven days of the year, federal agencies blew through $53 billion in contracts – that’s $1 in $10 of all contract spending on the year, in the final week.

The problem isn’t new and it isn’t going away. In fact, it’s getting worse. Our report shows a 15 percent increase in use-it-or-lose-it contracts from last year to this year. From 2015, that’s a 39 percent increase.”

The “Democratic Underground” is a website and depository for DEM delusions and fantasies and lies which they tell themselves.

Recently one of their members had an “AWAKENING” and wrote this:

I’m afraid it has finally sunk in…
That I live in a country where a solid 35% (and often more) don’t share my values, the values I thought were “American” values. The values I learned in school when I learned “Give me your tired, your poor…” The values that made me proude (Sic) when I travelled (Sic) abroad. It’s not just those at the bottom of the economic ladder, or threatened with being shoved there. It’s the people at the top that don’t just disagree with me about the role of government (like our Republican friends who spent oodles of time and money on good deeds), but the masses at the top that seem like characters from a bad movie.

It’s been slow coming, my evolution from disbelief to belief. I think the thing that finally tipped me all the way over was hearing about the taxi driver who asked my son how he liked this great economy. A small thing, but it tipped me.

Did any of the rest of you have to evolve to this point of understanding? Do any of the rest of you still not quite believe it?

    My emphasis above.

Yes, perhaps in the end FACTS cannot be ignored! A taxi driver noticing the GREAT ECONOMY shakes the faith of a DEM in DEM propaganda that the economy is awful, unfair, and evil. Note that the writer still wants to believe, and finds it distressing that people are aware of the FACTS and believe them, instead of accepting DEM propaganda.

I don’t think he’s saying what you think he is. His belief is not shaken, his awakening is that “35%” of the country doesn’t hold his values. He can’t understand how a taxi can think the economy is great.

You have to understand the liberal mindset. They are always the smartest person in the room, and if you don’t agree with them, you’re one of the smelly walmart people. He is looking down on the taxi driver as a lesser person. That’s what Dems do. They believe that everyone needs their help, and anyone who doesn’t understand that is stupid.
