British politician and recent media pundit Nigel Farage appeared on Fox Business News with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the latest terrorist attack in London, England.
(Daily Mail) Five jihadi terrorists shouting ‘this is for Allah’ have reportedly killed seven people and left dozens more injured in a horrific rampage around two locations in central London.
The men, described as being ‘of Mediterranean origin’, mowed down up to 20 people with a white van at 50mph on London Bridge on Saturday night, then began ‘randomly stabbing’ revellers with 12-inch hunting knives.
[ There are two incident scenes near each other. ] According to initial media reporting up to 20 people are feared to be injured after a white van reportedly ploughed into pedestrians on London Bridge. Approximate time 10:10pm (local) or 5:10pm EDT U.S.
Initial eye-witnesses report the vehicle drove onto the pedestrian pavement at the scene in central London this evening and drove directly into the crowds of people. The driver, and possibly passengers, may also have exited the vehicle and began stabbing or shooting the survivors.
There are reports of massive amounts of gunfire taking place at the same time. The van is estimated to have been driven at a speed approximately 50mph into the crowd. The rapid gunfire lasted for several minutes. (more…)
President Trump has requested the Supreme Court grant an expedited review of lower court rulings that have blocked the temporary travel restrictions and visa bans.
The Supreme Court justices have now asked challengers to the Trump Executive Order to file their responses to the petition for review (the requests for stays of the lower courts’ rulings). Those responses are due on or before 3 p.m. Monday, June 12.
(Via SCOTUS BLOG) […] Arguing that lower courts “openly second-guessed” President Donald Trump’s determination that national security concerns require a freeze on new visas for travelers from six Muslim-majority countries (Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen), last night the federal government asked the Supreme Court to step into the legal dispute over the constitutionality of the executive order that the president signed on March 6.
The details of the terrorist attack in Kabul show the explosives were hidden in a tanker truck used to clean out septic systems. The Afghan security forces stopped the tanker truck from entering the heart of the area containing the diplomatic headquarters multiple nations.
The bomber detonated the truck at the security checkpoint immediately killing all of the Afghanistan security forces. More than 90 people (mostly civilians) were killed and more than 400 were wounded – including 11 American contractors.
STATE DEPT – The United States strongly condemns today’s deadly attack in Kabul.
We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed and injured, including our Afghan partners, members of the diplomatic and international communities, and many innocent Afghan citizens. We pray for a speedy recovery to the American and Afghan members of our mission staff and others who were injured in this attack, and we praise the Afghan Security Forces, police, and medical professionals who were the first responders to the scene.
In the face of this senseless and cowardly act, the U.S. commitment to Afghanistan is unwavering; the United States stands with the government and the people of Afghanistan and will continue to support their efforts to achieve peace, security, and prosperity for their country. (link)
Details are sketchy because of the scale of the explosion. Reports of dozens killed and hundreds injured. Reuters reports: Basir Mujahid, a spokesman for Kabul police, said several people were killed and wounded in the blast near the fortified entrance to the German embassy.
“It was a car bomb near the German embassy, but there are several other important compounds and offices near there too. It is hard to say what the exact target is,” Mujahid said. The explosion shattered windows and blew doors off their hinges in houses hundreds of meters (yards) away. (link)
The incident happened at around 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday when a massive explosion occurred in a crowded area on the edge of the capital’s Wazir Akbar Khan neighborhood, not far from foreign embassies and government buildings. Plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the scene.
It was not immediately clear what was the exact target of the explosion, but photos from the scene showed significant damage and multiple vehicles which were destroyed. At least 319 people had been taken to hospitals, the health ministry said. The Pajhwok news agency said 50 people were killed.
Within a few hours of an Islamist terror attack against Coptic Christians in Egypt President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi launched airstrikes against known extremist positions in Eastern Libya. In the aftermath of those strikes we shared: “don’t be surprised if“…
(Via Reuters) Warplanes carried out three air strikes on the Libyan city of Derna on Monday, a witness said, days after Egypt launched strikes on militant camps there against those it said were responsible for killing Egyptian Christians.
On Friday, Egyptian fighter jets struck Derna just hours after masked militants boarded vehicles en route to a monastery and opened fire at close range in the southern Egyptian province of Minya, killing 29 and wounding 24.
No military immediately confirmed Monday’s strikes. The witness said one attack hit the western entrance to Derna and the other two hit Dahr al-Hamar in the south. (more)
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly appears on Fox News Sunday for an interview with swamp gatekeeper Chris Wallace.
Wallace began the interview in his customary insufferable fashion trying to bait Kelly into the vast ‘muh Russian’ conspiracy story and Jared Kushner. Secretary Kelly did a great job outlining how Jared Kushner setting up channels of communication with anyone, including Russians, is a nothingburger. Wallace reluctantly was forced to move on…
Secretary Kelly went on to outline the status of the U.S. terror threats. Yikes.
As the British Police make two more arrests they are asking for help filling in the timeline of activity for Manchester Bombing terrorist Salman Abedi (22).
MANCHESTER – British police on Saturday released surveillance-camera images of the Manchester concert bomber on the night of the attack as they appealed for more information about his final days.
[…] The photos released by police show attacker Salman Abedi on the night of the bombing, wearing sneakers, jeans, a dark jacket and a baseball cap. The straps of a knapsack are visible on his shoulders. Authorities said they had made major progress in unravelling the plot behind the concert bombing but acknowledged there were still gaps in their knowledge.
While it doesn’t come as a significant surprise the latest development in the Manchester bombing shows the financiers for the terrorist attack were U.K. taxpayers.
Yes, the British people actually paid Salman Abedi to kill themselves and their children:
Telegraph – Salman Abedi is understood to have received thousands of pounds in state funding in the run up to Monday’s atrocity even while he was overseas receiving bomb-making training.
Police are investigating Abedi’s finances, including how he paid for frequent trips to Libya where he is thought to have been taught to make bombs at a jihadist training camp.
