An announcement today from the U.S. District of Connecticut John Durham is a little perplexing.  According to the announcement USAO John Durham is resigning from office effective February 28.   However, there is no information about his prior appointment as special counsel to review the DOJ and FBI conduct in the Trump investigation.

John Solomon at Just The News has obtained the FBI memos and 302 reports from their interviews and interactions with their enlisted spygate operative Stefan Halper.

The FBI documents outline how Stefan Halper was enlisted by the FBI for their operation to target the campaign of Donald Trump in 2016. Halper agreed to become a confidential human source (CHS) or spy for the FBI, and record contacts with several members of the Trump campaign in order to frame the Russian collusion narrative.

Despite secret recordings showing Carter Page clearly had no idea about any Russian connections to the campaign, or people within it; and despite Page clearly rebuking any effort to draw those inferences; the FBI still went forward with a Title-1 FISA surveillance warrant against Page and never informed the court of the exculpatory recordings.

SOLOMON – […] The memos show that the FBI instructed Halper in August 2016 not to focus on Papadopoulos first, but rather on Page, whom the FBI described as an “opportune target.” Papadopoulos was given the code name Crossfire Typhoon (CT), while Page was given the codename Crossfire Dragon (CD) in the memos.

U.S. District Judge Drew Tipton, Southern District of Texas, has blocked a Biden executive action which was intended to pause deportations for 100 days.  “This preliminary injunction is granted on a nationwide basis and prohibits enforcement and implementation of the [100-day pause] in every place Defendants have jurisdiction to enforce and implement the January 20 Memorandum,” Tipton wrote.

The lawsuit was brought by the state of Texas who argued the Biden executive action to stop deportation was creating an undue financial burden on the state, and the order violated administrative procedures and laws for the role of deportation in enforcement.

TEXAS – […] The order represents a setback to Biden’s immigration agenda, which is largely focused on undoing Trump’s immigration legacy and securing an overhaul to the U.S. immigration system.

Tipton found that Texas had proved the 100-day deportation pause would threaten the state with financial harm — and that the moratorium, as rolled out, violated administrative laws and procedures.

U.S. Attorney General nominee Merrick Garland stated during his congressional testimony that Antifa was not a terrorist or extremist group, and agreed that congress should censor the internet.  Garland is allied with Lawfare, and has expressed an interest in weaponizing the position of the AG in order for the DOJ to continue targeting political enemies.

That said, it does not come as a surprise to see Senator Mitch McConnell support Garland. Mitch supports any system or nominee that will remove any entity that is considered a threat to the professional political class. Indeed, we should expect to see the majority of the DeceptiCon coalition vote to confirm Garland.  This is how the UniParty works.

In a scene straight out of Orwell’s 1984 warning, the FBI is literally calling their effort the hunt for “America’s Most Wanted.”  To achieve their goal, the FBI has been asking for help from their ideological comrades in the state run media apparatus, and achieving a great deal of success. The confirmation hearing for U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, a far-left advocate for intrusive weaponization of government against political adversaries, is underway today. The afternoon session should resume around 1:30pm

If Garland is confirmed there will be multiple people and groups who supported President Trump targeted by the U.S. Department of Justice.  The extremist Lawfare group is openly advocating for more political targeting; to wit Garland has openly stated his intent to continue weaponizing the DOJ where former AG Eric Holder left-off.

An interesting article within the New York Post outlines a phone call by an aide to NY Governor Andrew Cuomo who admitted to covering-up the statistics of deaths from nursing homes.

Cuomo’s administration was scared the DOJ would use the information to arrest them.

NEW YORK – Governor Cuomo’s top aide privately apologized to Democratic lawmakers for withholding the state’s nursing-home death toll from COVID-19 — telling them “we froze” out of fear the true numbers would “be used against us” by federal prosecutors, The Post has learned.

The stunning admission of a cover-up was made by Secretary to the Governor Melissa DeRosa during a video conference call with state Democratic leaders in which she said the Cuomo administration had rebuffed a legislative request for the tally in August because “right around the same time, [then-President Donald Trump] turns this into a giant political football,” according to an audio recording of the two-hour-plus meeting. In this important interview former Senior White House Economic and Trade Advisor, Peter Navarro, discusses how the Bill Barr DOJ prepared advanced review for an incoming Joe Biden administration and supported the creation of a blitz of executive orders.

Take away the bigger big-picture.  The people inside the Department of Justice, most of them installed during the Obama-Holder-Lynch administration, are entrenched ideologues.  It did not matter who the Attorney General was.  The gears inside the machine were disconnected from the person who held the controls.

For those of us familiar with the legal term “Disparate Impact” this report today will make sense.  However, if you don’t know that it is unlawful to hire an “ineligible” applicant, the DOJ action seems ridiculous, which it is.

Under legal interpretation rules of “Disparate Impact” it is unlawful not to hire illegal aliens. If a company uses eligible (legal) work authorization status as a requirement on employment applications (when making hiring decisions), and if the use of legal work eligibility is used as a qualifier, and the eligibility (qualification) standards disqualify a protected class (nationality, ethnicity) at a disparate rate, then it is unlawful not to hire illegal aliens.

WASHINGTON DC – The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating SpaceX over whether the company discriminates against non-U.S. citizens in its hiring practices and said Elon Musk’s company is stonewalling a subpoena for information, court documents revealed Thursday.

The DOJ’s Immigrant and Employee Rights Section received a complaint of employment discrimination from a non-U.S. citizen claiming that the company discriminated against him based on his citizenship status.

Congressman Devin Nunes and former lead HPSCI Investigator Kash Patel appear with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the light sentence handed-down by FISA Presiding Judge James Boasberg for FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith.

Clinesmith plead guilty to doctoring an email to make the FISA application against Carter Page and the Trump administration appear valid.  Clinesmith lied to create a fraudulent FISA application and the Judge said he had suffered enough.  Nuts, all of it.
