The question that matters comes up before things go off the rails. Senator Hirono asks Attorney General Pam Bondi about the reauthorization of FISA-702, that will be needed when the authority expires next year.

If FISA-702 did not exist, the quasi-constitutional justification for the wholesale collection of U.S. citizen metadata no longer exists. It really is that simple.
There is ZERO justification for the capture of U.S. citizen data by the government. The capture itself violates the Fourth Amendment. The only way the government can justify the capture of U.S. Citizen data is if there is some quasi-constitutional or national security reason for it.
Take away “702”, and the data collection collapses; ANY “incidental” search of the database then loses any plausible legal justification. 702 is the camel’s nose under the tent.

Senator Haggerty puts the “Arctic Frost” program into context by noting the FBI was conducting surveillance of him during 2016 under “Crossfire Hurricane” when Haggerty and others were part of the Trump transition team. This is a much bigger scandal than the media can wrap their arms around, and it is a little frustrating.
As we have repeatedly outlined, FBI spying operations in 2015/2016 shifted into FBI operation “Crossfire Hurricane,” that shifted into FBI operations with Robert Mueller, that shifted into FBI operations with impeachment, that shifted into FBI operations with J6 targeting aka “Arctic Frost,” that shifted into FBI operations with Jack Smith. It is all part of one long continuum.
Now the FBI is releasing information that Arctic Frost also resulted in the surveillance of members of Congress. The phone records of several members of Congress were part of the Arctic Frost operation.

Can you see how they all connect? Arctic Frost was the weaponized FBI operation that empowered the FBI searches of the NSA database noted by Horowitz. Deep inside the report, released by John Durham {CITATION}, the special counsel outlined how former FBI Director James Comey was intimately involved in the creation of the Carter Page FISA application.
Durham noted that Comey kept asking the DOJ National Security Division and FBI counterintelligence investigators, “Where’s the FISA, we need the FISA?” However, John Durham never interviewed James Comey or Andrew McCabe.
The former FBI Director and Deputy refused to cooperate or give testimony to John Durham. So, how did John Durham have details about the demands of Comey?
