This Big Club operation in public is exactly what we need to see happen in order to wage a war against uniformed enemies within the republican party. Keep in mind, as Paul Ryan talks about winning elections he recently campaigned for Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger in their failed 2020 midterm reelection campaigns.
Nothing about this interview where Paul Ryan positions himself against the blue-collar working-class MAGA movement is bad. Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and for Paul Ryan to openly proclaim his anti-Donald Trump allegiances, which will soon evolve into open promotion for Ron DeSantis, will only help the awakening as we highlight the Republican Club strategy for 2024. As I have said for years, there was no doubt in my mind that Paul Ryan was positioning himself to lead the “establishment” republican wing of the UniParty. He has now openly and publicly embraced that role. Pretenses are dropping, and that is a glorious thing. However, in reality, Paul Ryan as a candidate for Vice-President in 2012 received less votes in his own state of Wisconsin than candidate Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020.
The ‘America First’ national agenda, both economically and in larger global terms, was not represented in either wing of the UniParty system until Donald Trump came into politics. The economics of the thing, the financial graft that oils the wheels of politics, is the source of all opposition.

I really really wish I shared Sundance’s enthusiasm. This will split the party – I see no way around this. Now, I know that, at this stage of the cycle, it is extremely unlikely that anything can alter the course of the cycle, but I have had hope – up until recently. Read Ecclesiastes 3. I have come to realize that the Left is the instrument that drives the casting away of stones – the time to rend. But I , like most everyone here, had hope when Donald Trump started telling the truth back in 2016.
And then I read a good comment by Maximus-Cassius who rightly points out the danger of a split Republican Party. I fully agree with him. With a handle like Maximus-Cassius, I assume that he has some knowledge of what happened in Rome. Julius Caesar was essentially a populist. He crossed the Rubicon, and the people of Rome enthusiastically welcomed him into the city. Rome was unbelievably corrupt by this time. There was also a real estate crash. The Senators were the elites – the bankers. Caesar was about to cause them to lose huge amounts of wealth. They murdered Caesar. When the triumvirate took power, this action was not included in the plans. They must have decided that it was unhealthy to follow Caesar’s path. Anyone interested can read about it in the recent translation of Plutarch titled “The Age of Caesar.”
So, I am not nearly as optimistic as sundance. I fear that the cycle must run its course. The rot is just too deep. What comes out the far end of this is anyone’s guess. Hopefully something better – if there is anything left at all.

First, I am not a troll….I voted for President Trump at every opportunity and will again, because I am convinced that he loves America. “Globally, the globe” now realizes that it no longer has to follow the lead of “a bunch of World War 2 victors,” because all of that was actually eighty years ago.
“For us,” this represents “the end of the post-WW2 post-Soviet ‘uni-polar’ ‘hegemony’ fantasies(!)” which have governed the thoroughly-corrupt careers of those who have until now managed to govern over us. However, this entire framework is now finally collapsing.
And – I will instantly include “NATO” into all of this. Their enemy no longer exists. But the sustaining “military industrial complex” which a f-i-v-e star General once warned us of … still does. (P.S.: “You basically cannot earn six stars …”)
As the “new world order” that is now emerging proves itself in fact not(!) to be the one envisioned by the likes of “Soros,” our country in particular will now be scrambling to keep up. And, this change will not be easy. Until now, we simply assumed that we were “Big Man On Campus.” Until now, we simply took for granted that “we are in charge.”

Sarah Palin lost to a democrat because of ranked choice voting in a very Republican state.
