Arabella’s Gift…

The most notable aspect amid President Trump’s granddaughter Arabella delivering a folk song in native Mandarin wasn’t the song itself, it was the response from Madame Peng Liyaun, the wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping. If you haven’t watched the video, you should.

The song was shared moments after President Trump delivered these remarks during a state dinner presented by President Xi and Madame Peng to honor the visit of President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump:

[…] “This moment in history presents both our nations with an incredible opportunity to advance peace and prosperity alongside other nations all around the world. In the words of a Chinese proverb, “We must carry forward the cause and forge ahead into the future.” I am confident that we can realize this wonderful vision.

[…] It is my hope that the proud spirits of the American and Chinese people will inspire our efforts to achieve a more just, secure, and peaceful world, a future worthy of the sacrifices of our ancestors, and the dreams of our children.

In a moment, we will view a video of my granddaughter, Arabella, reciting traditional Chinese songs and poetry about your country’s serene beauty and treasured customs. Our children so often remind us of our shared humanity and true dignity.” (link)

Arabella began her video by saying: “Hello, Grandpa Xi. Hello, Grandma Peng”, and then began to sing a story in Mandarin very familiar to the Chinese people. Exceptionally familiar to Madame Peng Liyaun who, along with being the wife of President Xi, was a folk singer and popular cultural icon herself.

[Video 14:20 – Prompted, Just Hit Play]

Coming out of this dinner U.S. media spun a narrative that President Trump acquiesced in his tone toward President Xi; and Trump’s opposition framed a narrative of comparative weakness. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Again, watch that video and look at the response from Xi Jinping and Madame Peng Liyaun. Now contrast that relationship, that visible connection, against the words both grandfathers delivered toward each other.  Then evaluate and overlap the possibilities of hostile action -nuclear ambition- from North Korea.

What you immediately notice is there is an element there that extends beyond transactional geopolitical consequence, and into the realm of the personal.  President Trump has drawn the panda into the clearing within the bamboo forest.  That personal space is where the discussion of terms holds the greatest consequence.

There’s a reason Little Rocket Man has been quiet.

The level of diplomatic and personal respect displayed by President Trump toward the Chinese people and their leader Xi Jinping was pitch perfect.

Those who follow China closely will note a cultural reality that China believes in victory, in all things, as part of their general perspective. Conquest and winning it is in their DNA.

Traditionally and historically if it does not benefit China, it simply is not done. That’s the mindset and approach most outside China fail to understand. The European and American framework of mutually beneficial outcomes does not work in China. It is a zero-sum outlook. However, if an action does benefit China it will most certainly be done; that too is the reality. Therefore negotiation with China involves requests for action, that when taken, also derive the Chinese a benefit.

President Trump established the benefit side of the equation early on in his administration. The benefit is favorable trade outcomes and the subsequent economics. The request toward achieving that outcome is for Xi Jinping to eliminate the threat that is North Korea.

If you have followed the foreign policy pattern of President Trump you immediately recognize he does not restrain himself to DC political customs or DC political norms. Indeed as Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi optimistically noted, President Trump can accomplish many things because he brings a unique perspective to the world of policy and diplomatic engagement. Later al-Sisi repeated: “He Can Do The Impossible“.

Additionally since we originally outlined the likely scenario for a restart of the ‘six party talks‘ (China, South Korea, Russia, Japan and the U.S.), on August 13th, there was visible activity providing further evidence toward that end.

•Japan (Shinzo Abe) has stated they have “great confidence” in President Trump’s Asian national security approach. •South Korea (President Moon Jae-in) stated they are “confident there will not be war again on the Korean peninsular“; •and they are willing to send a special envoy to North Korea to begin talks. •In addition, China quietly removed the 71-year-old veteran diplomat, Wu Dawei, from the position of negotiator toward the DPRK, and replaced him with 58-year-old Kong Xuanyou. Kong is a long time Chinese diplomat in charge of Asian affairs and he speaks Korean.

All of this was generally under-reported and took place months before President Trump arrived in Asia; the U.S. media was busy pushing Charlottesville narratives.  More importantly this quiet activity took place while President Trump directed USTR Lighthizer to begin a section 301 trade investigation into China.

President Trump was ramping up the economic pressure on Chinese President Xi Jinping, but more specifically Lighthizer’s action was targeting Beijing’s communist old guard who control both their economy and the DPRK behavior ahead of the communist congress.

Remember, China takes no action that does not benefit China:

Yesterday in a release from the State Department:

Special Representative for North Korea Policy Ambassador Joseph Yun will travel to Seoul and Jeju from November 14-17 for meetings with the R.O.K. government. Special Representative Yun will also to participate in the Northeast Asia Platform for Peace and Cooperation Conference and the United Nations Conference on Disarmament.

Now we watch closely for the appearance of Kong Xuanyou.  After returning from the ASEAN summit, that will be the strongest indication that post-Trump-visit President Xi has won the support of Beijing and will engage in a comprehensive plan toward Kim Jong-un.

There are those who would criticize such a strategy; using economics to achieve national security.  Those voices would prefer China be confronted on the economic issues regardless of North Korea.  However, if you look at the larger plan it’s not an either/or issue.

Under the current strategy visible from President Trump, the only question is the degree of confrontation.  Trump has already established the baseline in the trade confrontation; there will be actual economic loss to the Chinese.   The question, the negotiation, is entirely over the amount.

U.S. taxpayers are either going to spend hundreds of billions, perhaps trillions, to deal with the hostile action of North Korea…. at this point, it’s almost a sunk cost.  Or, we could spend a fraction of that money via a favorable trade outcome to the Chinese in exchange for them dealing with the issue.

Against the visible execution of the Trump Doctrine, in combination with the relationship side of this equation he has established, there’s almost no possibility of the U.S. entering a military confrontation with North Korea now.

Thanks Arabella.

Everything our President has done with China 🇨🇳 has been planned to perfection! PM Modi from India 🇮🇳 visits the WH in late May and invites Ivanka to a Women’s Leadership Summit at the end of November. Jared and Ivanka are suppose to visit China 🇨🇳 in advance of our President’s visit. Their visit is cancelled because North Korea 🇰🇵 decides to test a nuclear bomb.

Ivanka attends a Women’s Summit in Japan 🇯🇵 a few days prior to our President’s visit. She returns home while our President begins his 12 day visit.

You have this wonderful two days in China 🇨🇳 where at the final event, President Xi and our President give incredible toasts to one another. Our President hammers home his toast by having his granddaughter sing in Mandarin to President Xi and his wife. She starts by calling them Grandpa and Grandma. President Xi’s wife can’t get enough of Arabella. She sings along for the final 45 seconds. The look on her face when the video was concluded was priceless. She was the first to start clapping.

You can bet your bottom dollar that our President promised President Xi and his wife that Ivanka and Arabella will visit China 🇨🇳 as soon as the issue with North Korea 🇰🇵 is resolved. Until that time he would not want to put their lives at risk.

Just an incredible man that completely understands the dynamics of foreign policy and human relationships. He will use everything in his arsenal to get it done! We are the luckiest people in the world to get to see this happening in our lifetime. Generations to come will be very envious of us.

      Wow is right.

Here we are, at a moment in time when there are so many conflicts, turmoil and threats, a time when we are under attack at concerts, inside our churches, going to school and when we’re out shopping or sitting in a theater. Yet, there’s really nothing different about our moment in time as it relates to violence, hatred, corrupt and evil politicians or unrest in homes, families and countries around the world. What is different is the leadership and vision of President Donald John Trump.

We have a President and his charming, gracious First Lady, that sow seeds of genuine friendship, common interest, sincere caring and concern every single time they step off AF One.

Whether they carry the message of ‘America First’ around the world or share love and compassion toward a sick child in a hospital, a wounded soldier at Walter Reed, shooting victims in hospital beds or families without homes following a natural disaster, their message is the same.

President Donald Trump and Mrs. Melania Trump are the very best ambassadors for our country I’ve witnessed in my many years.

After every trip they take to a foreign land, I feel that my family is a little safer. Last year we thanked God for the election of Donald Trump on Thanksgiving. One year ago we had no idea that our thankfulness would be intensified this much.

We are richly and greatly blessed, America.

Did you just miss the point or was that an honest question? “Home, home on the range” is a folksong, the preamble to the constitution is America’s historical legacy that children use to be taught and memorized in schools as was the Gettysburg address.

It was truly a gift, too.
And a moment in history…another ‘first’…the first time a US President’s granddaughter has ever performed for a Chinese President, at a state dinner.
    And in the Chinese language.

It was also a gift from Ivanka and Jared Kushner, Arabella’s parents and the two most maligned members of President Trump’s family.
Who, like our President and First Lady…are doing all this for us, for free.
This gift from Arabella was made possible only because Ivanka had the foresight to have her little daughter learn Mandarin, a few years ago.

Regarding that ‘announcement’ that China made, about no longer forcing foreign firms “to turn over technology secrets to gain market access”…
While it seems like a concession…I am wondering if it was done more to encourage foreign firms to continue to locate operations there, at a time when the US is trying to lower it’s corporate tax rate to encourage businesses to return or locate in the US.

All in all, this was an amazing, historic visit to China by our President.
It is a shame that our disgusting, partisan media chose to ignore it.

To paraphrase that old quote, our President’s actions speak so loudly I can’t hear what the media is saying.

Little Arabella was a star and ambassador. She said:

    習爺爺您好; 彭奶奶您好; 大家好。讓我唱一首歌吧。/ 习爷爷您好; 彭奶奶您好; 大家好。 让我唱一首歌吧。
(“Hello, grandpa Xi; hello, grandma Peng; hello, everyone. Let me sing a song.”)

Then in perfect tones she recited stanzas from the Sanzijing ( three character classic) that in premodern China was the standard text for children to learn the language, as well as the lessons of the Confucian classics. I suspect from some of her pronunciations of some words, she has an older Taiwan teacher. Then she sang,”Wǒ di hǎo māmā 我的好媽媽” (“My Good Mother”), which was flawless.

This has endeared her to the people.

However, it also should be noted that Chairman Xi has eliminated (by various means) at least if not more than 75% what sundance calls the ‘old guard’. They are no longer setting policy and have no influence in the policies that China is pursuing under Chairman Xi.

This is Chairman Xi’s agenda (BRI, South China sea island militarization) and his cronies he has empowered in all key positions of the party/state.

If Chairman Xi is sincere, then we will see more sanctions ( particularly the Daqing-Dadong oil pipeline) from him to bring DRPK to the negotiating table. He also needs to rein in the Russians who have taken up the slack so China ‘looks’ like it is in compliance.

I am not sanguine. And as charming as adorable Arabella is, or the pandas, this is realpolitik.

Oddly enough, Soros has his Mitts in many of the companies that make or maintain these devices. Plenty of opportunities to manipulate results and elections, indeed nations.

As a survivor of the punchcard generation, I encountered “chad” in the IT world, but it was relatively rare, and almost always the result of cheap material, out-of-adjustment equipment, or poor handling of the punch cards. And there were techniques of cleaning it/them up. Sometimes low-tech is the best.

Then again, by the time you’ve made something idiot-proof, they come up with a “better” idiot… 🙂 or 😦

WE’LL decide who you should send. The arrogance is breathtaking and needs to be halted ASAP! Horrendous presedent for our nation and electoral procedures. After all, the Democrat party rigged their primary so now they think they can do it elsewhere….openly, this time.

“…. Except the difference is America does it by the ballot box, in China it is done by fiat by those that control the Party/State….”

At least we THINK that is what is done here in the USA.

What actually happens is any American Patriots running for offices get Herman Cained (smeared) or Ross Peroted (threatened) thus the voter is left with false alternatives.

Obama vs traitor John McShame (After Ron Paul was eliminated. See Don Estulin and Bilderberg assassination discussion)

Obama vs Mitt Romney (After Herman Cain was eliminated by sex smears.)

Hillary Clinton vs Jeb Bush — Except, Then there was Trump!

They have not quit attacking President Trump and now they are starting on Judge Moore.

And that does not get into the massive amount of voter fraud. Any bets Judge Moore loses because of voter fraud? I think these attacks are used as cover for the real plan — massive voter fraud.

Although it is nice to see Alabama is paper ballot:

China’s One Belt One Road is their policy of financing infrastructure/businesses around the world in exchange for a stable currency and conquest. Using electronic Yuan, they can leverage their investment and buy entire countries and everything in them. One reason President Trump is a God send to the people of the world is that his message is not only about finance but also culture, sovereignty and family. Let money flow but keep your eyes on the prize.

There was something different about this trip, one of mutual respect, friendship & yes, even a touch of humanity

A leader like Trump can do great things for the world as a whole, because he reaches out to people as human beings, as possible partners in a mutually enriching partnership

He’s not a politician, he’s a concerned human being who understands being tough but fair to all concerned is the way to solve problems & get things done

Yet, what is the democrats response to his fantastic trip?

    From Chuck Schumer…

““Without exaggeration, the president’s trip to Asia has been one of the most embarrassing foreign trips a president has taken in my memory. It shows that when it comes to foreign policy, President Trump is not ready for prime time,” Schumer said on the Senate floor”

Schumer could care less about America or our interests

For all the talk of “resets” 8 years ago, this truly felt like a reset. Old friendships were strengthened, frayed friendships repaired, and new relationships forged.

But if the irresponsible chickens**t media figures this one out, the next day’s headline will read “Trump exploits own grandchildren for political gain, proof of world leader collusion!”
No matter; the important point here is he brings something China wants to the table, demonstrates his willingness to barter with it, but will never agree to lopsided deals in China’s favor.
Like military and industrial secrets of technology, a la Clinton foreign policy.
This has been a stellar overseas trip, again, ignored by paid political hacks, as our lion continues to lay a solid foundation and policy blueprint that will pay the US yuge dividends for years to come.

fannnieprl, and remember many pregnant Chinese women play classical music for the fetus and why so many are so very talented, plus they start school at age 3 and it is not play school but learning math, reading, and beginning with the graphics of the Chinese language (which is much easier and shorter than the old Chinese language in Taiwan). I know our Chinese godchild will be extra special because later, God willing, he can come for vacations with us and learn more of America. In Beijing they are speaking English, because they know it is important. A beautiful country as well, and what I love about the Chinese is that they love dancing to our music and use it for exercising. Found this out in Hangzhou at the Night Market. AND they can dance beautifully!

IMHO, Trump won the election here because of authenticity. He is real – a what you see is what you get guy. In negotiations this is a powerful tool – it puts a force behind a stand like nothing else. Authenticity is a cantilever that defies political gravity, and our President has it in spades. He’s a true partner, looking for the win-win. That’s what China knows about Trump. Much is made over how Trump knows China, but for a fact the reason the President made so much headway on this trip is that China, Xi in particular, knows Trump. There is a real guy on the other side of the handshake (and there never was in the case of 44).

Secondly our First Lady took my breath away in that dress. She never misses a beat, perfect harmony in what she wears and what she does in her role. Culturally, I believe the pains she takes to accommodate the cultures she visits is a mark of respect that China most especially would respect. The Ugly American is the guy who wants every culture to be his – to go abroad and demand to eat hamburgers and speak English. Instead of learning while traveling, he proselytizes. This is why Obama sounded so brass, and why Trump hits the right chord. The difference is that Obama wasn’t even American enough to pretend it well, so he even faked it while abroad. That was so embarrassing. President Trump is comfortable in his own skin and open to the wisdom of other cultures. That’s why tagging him a xenophobe is so outrageous, and one of the reasons the media did not show him abroad – it spoils their isolationist/racist narrative.

And finally, the grandpas. One of the most concerning things to me in the current world leadership is the lack of generations. Merkel has no children. Macron has no children. May has no children. What do they care how they leave the world? But Grandfathers think on those things and they want all the best for their offspring. This is a common bond that transcends culture and goes to the heart of the human spirit. Arabella isn’t a cynical ploy here, nor is she a tool. She is pure in her motives and her message. It’s straight out of Corinthians. So now faith, hope, love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is love.

And love always wins. That’s real winning there, Mr. President.

Beautifully said, Carolina and Napoleon. President Trump is a genuinely good man, who not only wants to put America and her people first, but for the other leaders to put their countries and peoples first. In other words, everyone can win. And not from the SJW-snowflake-participation-trophy point of view.

He also has a better connection as a “people person” than any President I’ve seen in my lifetime, and that goes back to Eisenhower. He builds on the common ground, and works on the differences. The Art of the Deal, made real in the one might say foreign world of politics.

What the YSM and many pun(y)dits don’t realize, either by incompetence or intent, is that business involves politics too. As well as thinking on your feet, preparing for every meeting, negotiating for the best results, and thinking long term, apparently much longer term than Øblowhole’s bunch. President Trump is no rube, and certainly not the (unwort – non-word) “Drumpf” that the Yellow-Stream-Media call him. He has seen and dealt with the swamp from the outside for many years. And he has assembled an excellent crew of like-minded good men and women to assist him in draining the swamp, both here and abroad, and is joining with other leaders as well to do the same.

We are truly blessed. Praying with thanks, for forgiveness, and for power, strength, wisdom and judgement.

Thanks, for bringing us President Trump; forgiveness, for giving us a second (OK, nth) chance; strength, to carry out GOD’s will, and clearing out the swampian evil; wisdom, for the right course of decisions, thoughts, and actions; and judgement: judgement upon those who subvert and destroy, and discernment to see who they are and what they do. GOD Bless America.

Another thing I noticed that President Trump did, only I don’t know how to say it. All during his campaign President Trump called out the unfair trade practices.

But instead of naming governments and their trade negotiators as slimy crooks who will lie, cheat and collude in order to take us to the cleaners, he elevated them to the position of honorable patriots who are only looking to get the best deal for their people.

And an under message to that is: be ready, because from now on that is the honorable goal of our government and our trade negotiators too.

I was reminded of President Trump’s answer to the last question of the presser on the plane this morning where he was asked about relationships, and as I understood it he felt that relationships of respect were the most important, even more so than friendship.
