Reports of FBI General Counsel Leaker Investigation Bear Hallmarks of “Controlled Opposition”….

A few days ago we shared a story from Sara Carter, a frequent guest on Sean Hannity, who surfaced immediately AFTER the inauguration of President Trump and is often utilized to drive explosive headlines that lead to lengthy conversation but go ‘no-where’.

CTH has spent years monitoring the interactions and interplay between the media and the various layers within what’s called “The DC Deep State”.  Almost immediately a very familiar pattern was noted in Carter’s reporting.  Her recent headline was:

“EXCLUSIVE: A top FBI lawyer is allegedly under an investigation for leaking classified information to the media.”

FBI General Counsel James A. Baker is purportedly under a Department of Justice criminal investigation for allegedly leaking classified national security information to the media, according to multiple government officials close to the probe who spoke with Circa on the condition of anonymity.

With the very familiar approach/pattern immediately pegging the needle – When we shared the story, we included the disclaimer:

Consider this report with a measured amount of cynicism. Based on all historic references this could easily be just another example of well presented flak and countermeasures meant to protect the swamp, protect the Deep State, and feed a **distracting narrative.

**The controlled source of the report, Circa, amplifies the possibility this could be simply a distraction intended to deflect criticism from the non-activity of the current DOJ head Jeff Sessions.  Remember, those who live in the swamp, and those whose financial livelihoods are determined by the activity in/around/discussing the swamp, have a vested interest to defend the swamp status quo.  There are trillions of dollars at stake. (link)

You see, there is a pattern, a very predictable shaping pattern with a great deal of media and stories that surround scandals in politics.  The ‘controlled opposition’ pattern is never broken and the outcome of stories that check off each sequential part of that pattern are always the same.

Without going into detail on the specific elements of those patterns, for the sake of this short explainer the important part is to notice the follow-up article from Sara Carter.

Remember, Carter makes a bold claim – she appears on Sean Hannity to expand on that claim – then, with everyone interested and multiple outlets distributing that original claim, she follows up with further investigation of that original presentation.

Check out her follow-up. (emphasis mine):

[HeadlineFBI lawyer allegedly under investigation for purportedly leaking about Yahoo, Inc. program

The FBI’s top lawyer is allegedly under investigation for purportedly leaking classified material featured in a Reuters report last year that disclosed a top-secret U.S. surveillance program built by Yahoo Inc, according to several government officials with knowledge of the investigation.

[…] James A. Baker, the general counsel for the FBI, is allegedly under a criminal investigation for an apparent connection to the story published in October 2016, according to several government officials.

The Reuters report exposed the top secret security program built by Yahoo Inc. in 2015, that has not been disclosed by the U.S. government. The program, which was built at the request of the U.S. government, allowed intelligence officials to scan what is known as “upstream data” using specific characters or phrase words, according to Reuters. Upstream data is information from a device such as phone or a computer to a server.

Reuters stated that Yahoo Inc. complied with a classified demand by the U.S. government, “scanning hundreds of millions of Yahoo Mail accounts at the behest of the National Security Agency or FBI, said three former employees and a fourth person apprised of the events.”

FBI spokeswoman Carol Cratty said the bureau would not comment on Baker and did not confirm or deny the alleged criminal investigation. Attempts by Circa to reach Baker, who is reportedly a close confidant of former FBI Director James Comey, through the bureau were not successful.

DOJ officials would not comment on Circa’s inquiry but said, Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be making a announcement next week about the department’s “stepped up efforts on leak investigations.”

A senior government official, with close knowledge of the intelligence community, alleges Baker opposed the Yahoo Inc. software program and has in his position at the FBI held up Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants.

The warrants allow the intelligence community to monitor person’s communications overseas and must be approved through the secretive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC).

Under Baker, many FISA warrants languished for both counterterrorism and counterintelligence investigations,” the source said. (read more)

Can you see what’s going on here?

Can you spot the “controlled opposition” shift?

According to this follow-up, the leaker, James Baker, is a good-guy who didn’t like (wasn’t comfortable) with all of the surveillance tools and over use of FISA warrants etc.

The article even infers that Baker was reluctant to submit FISA warrants: “Under Baker, many FISA warrants languished”  blah, blah blah… Yeah, sure. Right.

Can you spot the pivot?

Notice how two days ago the story was delivered to imply that James Baker was part of the problem, he was a “leaker”.   This implication fuels the anxiety held by the popular crowd that entities attempting to undermine the President are “leaking”; ergo Baker one of the bad actors etc.

However, through a slight-of-hand and subtle distribution of information, Baker is shifted from “bad-guy-leaker”, to “Snowden-like-honorable”.

See how that is done?

Simultaneous to this, Ms. Sara Carter says Attorney General Jeff Sessions is going to give a speech on “leak investigations” etc.

See where this is going?

Can you see how the interests of the Deep State, in this case the “Surveillance State”, are  positioned to protect itself?

Outline #1, with full assist in distribution by Sean Hannity, portrays an FBI leaker story.  Outline #2, then presents the leaker as the actions of an honorable man of character.

See the familiarity?  Does it sound just like Comey’s excuse?

The key takeaway here is the aspect where the story is intentionally presented one way and then followed-up to deliver a very specific narrative that in the aggregate protects the Deep State from investigation and public-demanded corrective action.

Go back and look at both articles again, read with your intellectually honest frame of reference, and you’ll note that nothing presented in article #2 (honorable leaker angle), was not known when article #1 (bad leaker story) was written.

When did you first learn of Sara Carter?  Then consider Sara Carter is being “fed”.

This is the self-preservation method of ‘flak and countermeasures’  we continually speak of.

  • Jeff Sessions wins with a leak investigation.
  • James Baker wins with this shaping of the motive for his leaks.
  • FBI wins with honorable purposes intact.
  • Deep State wins with continuance of status-quo.
  • The American electorate loses

Wash-Rinse-Repeat:

Notice how the “muh Russia” media headlines just slowly disappear like the smoke from flak and countermeasures… Months of proclaiming Trump must be colluding with Russia just disappears and no-one asks who should be held to account for the lies etc.?  No-one ever gets in the face of the media and demands justification etc.?

Leakers?

“Stepped up efforts”?

Oh, they’ll just move on.

Ah yes…. moving on.

But notice nothing changes.

Never does.

Funny that.

Almost as if that was by design.

When Sara and her cohort/husband started appearing on Hannity’s show, I had no idea who these two were, and I have posted that the duo always seemed to be a day late and a dollar short when being interviewed in Sean Hannity’s ‘explosive’ interviews.

      From your links above:

“Prior to working for Circa, she worked at The Blaze (2013-2016) covering National Security.

She is a veteran investigative reporter known for her award-winning coverage of border & immigration issues as well as national security and terrorism.

Prior to joining ‘The Blaze’, Sara worked for the Washington Times (2007-2010) and the Washington Examiner (2010-2013).

Prior to working in Washington, Sara also worked in Southern California; covering immigration for the Los Angeles Newspaper Group.”

“Award winning National Security/War Correspondent. @Circa Sinclair Broadcast Group”

Those websites seem almost like fake sites.

SD, are these two swamp plants? Is Hannity part of it or is he just clueless?

I have always thought something is off here.

Right you are, WSB, on multiple points – wherever there is a topic of interest – or a newly created situation analysis – up pops Carter – whichever controlled opposition carrier (Times, Blaze, Circa) needs a pseudo-investigative reporter – up pops Carter – quite a track record imho – Hannity is merely the ‘media carrier’ who presents the false narrative – either story # 1 and/or story # 2 – he doesn’t have to decide which one is credible – he just has to present it – the reader or the listener must decide which one is credible – when neither one of them is – because it is all programming, theater, and distraction –

‘Controlled Opposition’ is the norm because both sides are supported and financed to CONTROL what the public hears, sees, and believes – what Sundance presented above for our reference and review happens every time they (Deep Six, Dungeon Press, and/or the Two-Sided Coin Caucus) determines a distraction is needed to coverup what is really happening behind the scenes – if we knew what was happening behind the scenes – we would pay no attention to the stories about leaks, leakers, and/or wanna be leakers – it is ‘predictive programming’ at its best and most devious – I say – happens every day – if we want to know what is important for consideration and assimilation – we come here!

The Sinclair Broadcast Group (who seems to have been buying tons of media outlets) bought Circa in 2016, shut it down, brought in new people and relaunched it early last year. The Sinclair ownership seems to lean conservative, and has been blasted by the MSM as being in the tank for President Trump. The MSM is claiming that Jared Kushner and the CEO of Sinclair made a deal to give Sinclair access to the White House in return for favorable news pieces. I don’t know if any of this is true and gleaned much of it from Wikipedia.

I thought the same thing too. First I was great they are getting the leakers, then I read the story about the actual leaker a couple days later and I thought gee, this is a guy who was probably against what the Obama Admin were doing with the 702 program.

I think the real story is was Yahoo forced to come up with this program for the government to allow them to merge with AOL.

And again, I want the leak of the General Flynn unmasked calls and I want to know if Awan fed leaks, that hurt Clinton and TPP opponents, to the media.

I think there may be fire here – not just smoke and mirrors. Here is why:

“Under Baker, many FISA warrants languished for both counterterrorism and counterintelligence investigations,” according to the source.

Slow-walking. A FAVORITE commie tactic, whether done by them directly, or by a useful idiot positioned where they need him or her.

THIS explains something that happened under Obama. Absolute inaction on many very serious investigations. I can’t really speak to this, but I leave it to fellow Treepers to back me up here. Under Obama, we chased our tails, and THIS was part of it. In my end of the swamp, the same tactics of “Obamatization” of our processes were killing us. Slow-walkers. I DESPISE them. It’s a form of sabotage, that came out in full bloom under Obama.

I had theorized that this guy was a core Canklebot, leaking to her, but more and more, I’m thinking he was a useful idiot, serving as a BLOCK rather than a leak. Kinda like Evelyn Farkas – the absolute wrong person for the job. The Obama Principle is to employ the Peter Principle in overdrive. And I think this guy was designed to be a mal-fitting part – both a bottleneck and a leak.

I think this could get good, once we know more about all the slow-walked cases. I would LOVE to see that list (which will certainly never happen), or at least I can hope that some Trump security people will speak to how bad things were.

And I’ll bet some of the cases led back to Americommies like….. well…. you might guess…..

This is how they work the justice system everywhere. I arrest and charge. Prosecutor gets case, through legal wrangle case is delayed. After long duration of time ( sometimes two years ) case comes to trial. Original witnesses can’t be located so prosecution cuts deal to reduce charges. Judge order time served and community service. Time served usually a week or so. This is the game they play so no one works hard. What a joke.

Interesting. She may be working it as a future story. Either that or she got tricked or concerned off the pursuit.

The whole problem with the Hammer story for the white hats is that it leaks a lot of context on historic decryption capabilities, and of course they can thus be easily concern-trolled into shilling for non-disclosure on it.

However, I think that’s where Trump and Pompeo have them all by the BLZ. Trump’s defense on any really nasty fakery they cook up, is to simply stand back, do nothing, and let the world show it’s not just fake, but evil. Trump Boomerang Effect on nuclear steroids.
And nothing has to be released – all the proof that’s needed is already out there. A million people could explain it – then BOOM – the false narrative falls apart and a bunch of people (who are not Trump or any of his people) go to jail.

Brennan is living on a knife-edge of his own making, frankly. Borrowed time for a whole lot of no-goods, if they keep pushing. No wonder he’s “coup-happy”. If somebody decides that they want to put an M-80 under the Hammer and Montgomery stories and get sticky goop all over everybody, it’s there for the doing.

I don’t know why these idiots don’t just leave Trump alone and fulfill their better dreams of *whatever* as part of MAGA. Plan Commie is totally busted. Give it up!

I think the persistence of idiocy is 100% Hillary. She isn’t just responsible for her own destruction – she drove the Dems over a cliff!

Thank you Wolfmoon 1776 for your thoughtful response. True, much of the information has already been leaked. The MSM however must be exposed as fake news for hiding such information from the American people.

Montgomery and Klayman have repeatedly given interviews regarding the existence of the surveillance state put in place by not only Obama, Brennan and Comey but now have told that Mueller and his FBI provided the computers to build the Hammer ((Hamr). The “Wild Turkey” coordinating apps have been covered in tech magazines as well. Exposing Mueller will bring demands for his own firing.

When a 4 star general comes forward to tell the American people that they must expose the Hammer as it is far “worse than Watergate” or they will lose their country. McInerney was a software specialist not to mention of the patriot class of white hats, so his words resonate. That Admiral ‘Ace’ Lyon also was involved in that exposure gives it even further heft.

It is past time to cover Brennan’s and Clapper’s surveillance system “The Hammer” or we will lose our freedoms to the police state.

Not so certain that “Plan Commie” is busted up. Obamacare still stands and he continues to run his operation with a full staff from his D.C. home with the likes of Sebilius, Jarrett and others putting out daily talking points to the press and to the bureaucrats every morning between 8:30 and 9:45. Many of those people already have Hammer Files for the “leverage” Obama used to enact his disasterous policies. It must be exposed as Obama not only put through his healthcare policies to hold leverag over the American people but so too used leverage over the corporate world to many and share in the private economy–no different than Hitler did.

Thanks! And I agree about the continued danger. Not just the already-escaped leverage, but I am beginning to think that the “Vault7” leaks were intentional – that they were not just the descriptions but the tools themselves. Why? To keep them in Democrat hands after they lost the White House. I THING THEY LEAKED VAULT7+. The backfire of that, is that they can’t use the tools to set up Trump, because they’re in the wild and understood. But these tools do allow them to keep getting leverage by hacking. Basically, the Brennan-Obama gang is now out of power, just like they were before 2008, when they were still armed with the Montgomery stuff that got them into power in the first place. They just hope to do it again.

Obama is a nasty piece of work. Really hope he gets fully outed for any illegalities.

I think that IF he wants to do it, the way is to join in the House Judiciary Letter immediately, demand an additional special counsel on the matters listed in the letter and perhaps others, and if Rosenstein refuses, fire him quickly and specifiy why, and NEVER waiver from that explanation. Then put in whoever you TRUST as deputy AG and let him/her do his thing, but make damn sure you know what that person will do while insulating the president from that decision. When I see Perp walks. Then I will start to believe. When the needle goes in their arms as the death sentences are carried out, then I will believe in justice. When the last Globalist has drawn his/her last breath then I will believe that good has overcome evil. That day is not here.

Until that day comes, this is just another mind game, another screw the American people gimmick by the politburo of the United States of Globalism. I have no patience.

Glenn Simpson and his Fusion GPS smear machine, along with many of WSJ fame appear to have worked with Christopher Steel as directed by Obama, John Kerry, Samantha Power and Susan Rice to create the PeePee Dossier in order to smear and delegitimize Donald Trump with bogus claims of “collusion” in their Russian narrative scheme.

Obama’s ‘Russian narrative” is a sick joke considering Skolkovo and Uranium One and his own longtime “Flexibility” collusion. CathetinevHerridge has reported the PeePee dossier came from Fusion GPS at the behest of Russia and the DNC.

That is clearly beyond ‘just politics’ but rather is SEDITION.

Glenn Simpson, Laura Kennedy, Katie Butler, CIA Frank Holder, Susan Schmitt, Ben Smith, Yoliya and the others should not be given the chance to ‘take the Fifth’ in front of Congress but rather should be pulled in and charged with attempting to overthrow the U.S. Government.

Jeff Sessions needs to put on his big boy pants…

If Glenn Simpson would have told the truth to the Senate Intel Committee, and if that Committee was actually seeking the truth then this would have stood as Sedition…but Simpson who quickly lawyered up with a Hillary lawyer Gowen and then left for Europe has told that he is taking the Fifth….

One wonder with the many WSJ reporters involved in Fusion GPS what Joeeph Rago knew about their Fusion GPS associations.

So much deception over so many years has sharpened my BS detection abilities. Another obvious decepticon maneveur was just employed with the obummercare vote charade. The decepticons would have us believe only a few Repubs caused the failed vote with mcstain taking the bulk of the criticism. Well duh! He’s one year in to a 6 year stint. Fact is there are 20 + senators (R’s) who were hiding their true uni-lobby position on that one. Roy Blunt comes to mind, a veteran legislator who can’t or won’t show leadership with Mcstain but always rests his pubic comments on his deceptive voting record. The democraps hid from any criticism at all because our “hero” boy mcstain took the focus away from every no vote on that one. Watch the roll call delay for the tell on that charade.

I agree. Many would have voted no had it been necessary to defeat it. It wasn’t close, in reality. Next time, perhaps they will give Collins, et. al. cover to vote “yes” , while others step forward with the “no” votes. It’s all a scam, just moving cover.

I always liked Carter as she was one of the few on Blaze that I Iiked and seemed to do great investigative work on immigration. She and Flynn were in some documentary on terrorism, etc… Her husband was military and was blinded in combat… As someone else said,SUNDANCE, it would be nice to get her side, and for her to respond to this speculation!!

Now, this is interesting. It didn’t occur to me. What I did notice, when Carter appeared (and it took a while for me to connect her with the Sara Carter who writes for Circa), I noticed that, although she was physically attractive, she was very squirrelly. Hyperkinetic. Almost anxious, breathless, as she’d deliver her spiel. And then she’d pause and her eyes would look like “did you believe that?”

Anyone who has raised children has seen that look at one time or another. It cannot be missed. With Sara Carter, it seems to chronic.

The interesting thing about this article is the leaks date before 2015 when Obama was in office; it has nothing to do with Trump or the recent leaks coming from the white House so all DOJ is doing is prosecuting a person who leaked a program Obama started and more than likely was used on Trump.

Yes, and the investigation was probably done under obama when he was hunting down whistle blowers.

DOJ is just leaking this now to make it look like it is doing something about leakers. The fact that this is the best they can do tells me they -aren’t- hunting down leakers

I think you are correct about Sara Carter. I have no proof. I did not even go over her past stories that she wrote.

It is just a “feeling” that I get when I watch her. I just don’t quite trust her.

I’m going to have to watch for her now and see if I catch it too.

I know for a fact I’d questioned where’s she’d been all this time and how she cane out of nowhere. That should have clued me in faster. Smh.

I was a little tipped by Sundance’s article some time ago that suggested that she and Hannity were being dooped on the “PDJT must fire Mueller meme.” While bringing down Mueller might be necessary, and we don’t know, bringing him down (if PDJT fires him) now will hurt PDJT.

I think, at this point, the way to bring Mueller under control is to simply spotlight the UTTER LUNACY of the Russia meme, and shame him into going away or re-directing his investigation to show that Fusion, the DNC, and primary era republicans (and later idiot McCain) phonied up a story to entrap then candidate DJT using RUSSIAN government operatives: sort of like Haman hanging on the gallows prepared for Mordecai.

I think Sara is fine. The problem is she is eager to make a name for herself on TV, but that is about everyone. True , she gets fed conflicting stories, but Sara cannot do nothing, so she reports . and thus gets air time. Not a perfect world

Now that I read this I realize o had wondered where Sara Carter had come from all of a sudden. I know I wrote about it online somewhere – something to the effect of how had I missed this woman journalist doing hard hitting work exposing D.C.

I should have realized it then. I just assumed I missed her in all the noise. Damn shame, she’d given me hope recently.

    Thanks for the sunlight Sundance.

I keep praying acting for these criminals to be exposed.

  27. I noticed this, too. The leaks we care about right now are the leaks that are sabotaging Trump’s presidency, the classified leaks that have been fed to MSM and which threaten POTUS and the office of the presidency. And what do we get? A leak about a secret surveillance program given to Yahoo in 2016? This won’t do it, Sessions. In this environment, these are not the kind on investigations that will put a halt to the soft coup that is in progress.
