John Morgan – Attorney, principle partner in Morgan and Morgan;  the law firm who hired former governor Charlie Crist and the legal firm of Pigford II payout coordinator Greg Francis.  Close friend of Mark O’Mara and Mark Najame.   Morgan is the Democrat bundler/fundraiser who has hosted several Barack Obama campaign events.

Mark NeJame – Legal counsel to Alan Grayson, friend of Mark O’Mara, Senior CNN legal analyst and the person who recommended Mark O’Mara to George Zimmerman in order to secure a CNN contract.  NeJame is a also a close personal friend of Pigford Attorney Greg Francis, and socially friendly with Natalie Jackson and  Ryan Julison. 

(Orlando Sentinel – Jeff Weiner) The behind-the-scenes turbulence of U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson‘s family life continued to spill into public view Wednesday as his attorneys worked to combat his wife’s recently revealed domestic-violence allegations.

The congressman’s lawyers revealed video of the domestic incident that played out at the Grayson home Saturday, which they said proved that Lolita Grayson committed an attack, not her husband.

“He was hoping that this matter would stay in the courts and outside of the press, but since horrendous accusations have been made against him … he believes that the truth must come out,” Grayson’s attorney Mark NeJame told reporters during a news conference in downtown Orlando.

Imagine if a white politico stated a black candidate needed prior approval to campaign in a white community ?  It would be on CNN/MSNBC 24/7 for weeks. 

TEXAS – Texas politicians are recoiling after a prominent Lubbock Democrat accused Republican candidate for governor Greg Abbott of “piñata politics” in a bigoted tirade and allegedly disparaged Abbott’s Latina wife.

“Greg Abbott came into our house uninvited, wanting to somehow give the illusion that the Lubbock County Hispanic community is supportive,” Lubbock city councilman Victor Hernandez said after Abbott visited the West Texas town and held a campaign rally at a Mexican restaurant. “If you want to come into my house, the first thing you have to do is to see me — see me as a person, see me as a human being, see me as a fellow Texan.” (more…)

Knowing you don’t stand a chance of winning an election does allow a certain liberty not possible with viable candidates….

TEXAS – Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis said Thursday that she would not shy away from being seen with President Barack Obama when he visits the Lone Star State next month.

The Democratic state senator’s comments came two days after she secured her party’s nomination in the deep-red state — but lost a number of border counties, raising questions about her performance among Hispanic voters.

“I’m definitely planning on being at the celebration,” Davis said in a live interview with The Texas Tribune, referring to the April gathering in Austin where Obama and ex-presidents are expected to speak about civil rights at the Lyndon B. Johnson presidential library.

“I’m excited about greeting our president there, and our former presidents,” Davis said. (more…)

 WASHINGTON DC – A leading US senator has said that President Obama knew of an “unprecedented action” taken by the CIA against the Senate intelligence committee, which has apparently prompted an inspector general’s inquiry at Langley.

The subtle reference in a Tuesday letter from Senator Mark Udall to Obama, seeking to enlist the president’s help in declassifying a 6,300-page inquiry by the committee into torture carried out by CIA interrogators after 9/11, threatens to plunge the White House into a battle between the agency and its Senate overseers. Trying desperately to take advantage of a media cycle filled with all things Ukrainian – John Podesta smooth’s White House agenda under the radar…..  What the administration is trying to do is keep an electorate from feeling the consequences of Obamacare and trying to retain power despite it…. 

(Washington Examiner) – The Obama administration announced Wednesday that it would allow insurers to keep until October 2016 health plans that do not meet Obamacare regulations, pushing back another Affordable Care Act deadline well past November’s midterms.

Facing the prospect of another wave of cancellation notices this fall, the administration took even further action to mitigate the blowback from President Obama’s broken promise that all Americans could keep their health care plans under Obamacare.

The Department of Health and Human Services had already given insurers the option of continuing those plans facing cancellation through 2014, and on Wednesday said those policies could remain in effect an additional two years. (more…)

My personal opinion on this might shock some people – so I’ll delay and join in the conversation in the comments section.   HatTip Chip Bennett:  

Rachel Canning is an 18-year-old High School senior now suing her parents for kicking her out of the house.    She is seeking financial “child support”, payment for final year tuition of private High School, and payment for all college tuition expenses she will incur.

While the case might seem extreme, it highlights a very specific consequence of helicopter parenting, spoiling children, choosing to be more of a “friend” than a parent, and a complete lack of teaching fundamental responsibilities in the age of post millenials. 

To quote her father, Sean Canning:

“I’m a liberal, liberal parent,” he said. “I wish I could have grown up in my house. I was tougher on my cops at work than I’ve ever been at my home, that’s for sure.”  (link)

Today a New Jersey Judge denied the initial request however another hearing is scheduled for next month where Rachel could win the lawsuit against her parents.   Essentially her argument is “they created my ideology and dependency – ergo they are now responsible to fulfill their obligations to me which arrive as a consequence of my upbringing”.

Believe it or not, it’s quite possible young Ms. Rachel Canning will win this lawsuit.   While it sounds incredulous on its face – her argument is fundamentally solid from the progressive point of view.    Her parents created her extreme dependency – just because they no longer wish to accept the consequences of their earlier decisions, does not mean they can just cast her aside.   They created this monster. WASHINGTON — A congressional hearing into the furor over political targeting by the Internal Revenue Service descended into political theater of the absurd Wednesday, as the former IRS official at the heart of the case again asserted her Fifth Amendment rights and refused to answer questions.

Lois Lerner, the former director of Tax-Exempt Organizations for the IRS, led the division that oversaw the staffers responsible for making sure that so-called social welfare groups were not going out of bounds with their political activities. (more…)

ORLANDO, FL – A judge has granted a temporary protective injunction against U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, after his wife filed paperwork accusing the Orlando congressman of shoving and injuring her during an incident this weekend.

Lolita Grayson’s petition for the injunction, dated Monday, says her husband pushed her against a door, causing her to fall to the ground, during a confrontation Saturday at their home on Oak Park Road, near Windermere. (more…)

“It’s ironic that for all the talk about how tough Chicago politics are, and what hardball they train into their politicians, Obama is absurdly soft in the face of menace. Sure, he’s tough on certain things – House Republicans, debt ceiling limits, Bibi Netanyahu – but give him someone who doesn’t have to kowtow and he shrivels.”

We knew the Obama Administration was serious because they sent their most steely-eyed national security heavy to lay down the law on the Sunday talk shows….or maybe it was just a line of ketchup drawn in the sand.  Anyway, John Kerry dropped the hammer:

“I think there are, you know, they are inviting the possibility of very serious repercussions on trade, on investment, on assets, asset freeze, visa bonds. The potential of actions by the global community against this unilateral step.”
