Intellectual Dishonesty, Ted Cruz Supporters, and The TPA Argument…

It really is quite stunning to see the voices who support Ted Cruz try and reconcile his prior support for the Trans-Pacific Trade issue.  Their obtuse position is fraught with intellectual dishonesty, and, quite frankly, a necessary head-in-the-sand approach.
We’ve previously outlined the issue HERE.   Senator Cruz supported the legislative trade-passage vehicle of TPA (Trade Promotion Authority) because ultimately the trade bill itself (TPP) benefits Wall Street’s interests.
However, the best way to understand the issue of his support is to actually listen to Ted Cruz explain in 2015 why he supported, then stopped supporting TPA:

You can clearly see, in his own words, Senator Cruz stating he stopped supporting TPA because Senator Mitch McConnell lied to him about buying votes for a later re-authorization of the Import-Export bank, which Ted Cruz does not support.

CBS Battleground Polls: Donald Trump Extends Leads, Lack of "Authenticity" Dogging Ted Cruz…

CBS via YouGov has released a series of battleground polls for New York, Pennsylvania and California (full pdf’s below).  Interestingly the polls are not identical questionnaires; instead they appear geographically nuanced, specifically on the Democrat queries.
However, there are some rather interesting trend similarities which are embedding as the campaigns of the three remaining republican candidates take on increased importance:

  • The electorate has made up their mind.  There is only about 3% of the electorate who might change their vote.  There will not be any “surging” per se’.
  • Donald Trump’s overall appeal is across all demographics and internal ideologies.
  • Donald Trump wins with women voters, and higher information political consumers.
  • Very Importantly – Trump is seen as most authentic and capable as a political change agent.
  • Trump also leads with Hispanic voters in California, and absolutely crushes the competition with the Asian electorate.
  • The most important issue in all three states (NY, PA, CA) are jobs/economy. And economic voters are overwhelmingly Trump voters.  (Trump also leads on the alternative issues – second place: security/terrorism)
  • Conversely, Ted Cruz is seen as the most “inauthentic” candidate in the race.

Supreme Court To Hear Oral Arguments On Obama "Executive Action" (DAPA Amnesty) Tomorrow…

D.A.P.A or Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents program – is the executive action Obama attempted in November of 2014 which was shut down by Federal Judge Andrew Hanen in February ’15 with the issuance of an emergency injunction.

  • The DOJ appealed the Hanen injunction, on merit, to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and lost.
  • The DOJ then appealed the Hanen injunction, on standing, to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, and lost again. (Full Backstory<– Absolutely critical read to understand the scope of what will be argued tomorrow – includes prior court rulings.

The Supremes 2012
The DOJ filed an appeal with the US Supreme Court.  On January 19th, 2016 the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear the case.  The Court will hear oral arguments in the case tomorrow with a decision expected in late June/July – just as the 2016 presidential campaign, in which immigration has already played a major role, really starts to heat up.

Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders Revealing Our Elections Rigged: "The Illusions of Choice"…

2016 elections(Nick Bernabe via ANTIMEDIA) Denver, CO — The 2016 election has been a wild ride, with two insurgent grassroots campaigns literally giving the political establishment a run for its money. But as the events of this presidential primary season play out, it’s becoming clear the U.S. election — and even more so, the presidential race — is a big scam being perpetrated on the American people.
Events from the last week have exposed the system as an illusion of choice and a farce. They have reinforced at least one study showing the U.S. is an oligarchy rather than a democratic republic.
The Wyoming democratic caucus took place on Saturday, purportedly to allow voters to have their voices heard in the race between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. Sanders lost the Wyoming caucus by winning it with a 12 percent margin. (more…)

Muslim Refugee's Riot in France (video) – While Obama's State Department Rushes to Import Jihad…

President Obama is fast-tracking the import of Syrian Islamists prior to the end of his administration.  Simultaneous to the State Department’s heightened activity video now surfaces of the Islamists blending their cultural jihad with the nice people of France.

(Via The Hill) The State Department is hoping to bring an average of nearly 1,500 Syrian refugees to the United States per month in order to meet President Obama’s target of settling 10,000 refugees in the country by September. About 1,300 refugees have already been placed in the United States since Obama first made the commitment in September.
That’s far fewer than those taken in by European countries such as Germany, who has dealt with an unprecedented wave of migrants fleeing Syria’s civil war, as well as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. (more…)

Crowdsourcing Request – FEC Reports and Super-PAC Expenditures…

A curious situation has presented itself within the FEC reports and required filings of 2016 election Super-PACS. A direct phone inquiry confirms a noted decrease in the number of required 24-hour expenditure reports from “some” Super-PAC’s currently active and engaged in the 2016 presidential election.
fec screenshot home pagePerhaps the decrease in filing activity is just coincidental to several recent revelations which have been discovered and discussed relating to the payments to media groups and various media-created LLC’s who are beneficiaries of Super-PAC funding.
They could just be spending less, and being less involved in the last 10 days.  A key deadline for monthly summary filings is only five days away.
However, it could also be that THIS SUNLIGHT is expanding exponentially.
Super-PACS are required to file a detailed monthly list of donors (contributions) and expenditures (payments) for the preceding month on/before the 20th day of the current reporting period. Meaning contributions and expenditures for “March 2016” are due by April 20th.
It would appear that contact, from ordinary researchers who dig through the sometimes overwhelming reporting, with the FEC, can actually deliver results. Since our initial research into Katie Packer’s group “Our Principles”, the FEC has requested clarification of expenditures for media payments made in opposition to candidate Donald J Trump.

Donald Trump Op-Ed: "Let Me Ask America a Question"…

Candidate Donald Trump has published the following Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal.  The accompanying images are mine… /SD

How has the ‘system’ been working out for you and your family? No wonder voters demand change.

Via Donald J Trump –  On Saturday, April 9, Colorado had an “election” without voters. Delegates were chosen on behalf of a presidential nominee, yet the people of Colorado were not able to cast their ballots to say which nominee they preferred.
A planned vote had been canceled. And one million Republicans in Colorado were sidelined.

In recent days, something all too predictable has happened: Politicians furiously defended the system. “These are the rules,” we were told over and over again. If the “rules” can be used to block Coloradans from voting on whether they want better trade deals, or stronger borders, or an end to special-interest vote-buying in Congress—well, that’s just the system and we should embrace it.
Let me ask America a question: How has the “system” been working out for you and your family? (more…)

Three Newly Released Trend Polls Show Donald Trump Climbing, Ted Cruz Collapsing…

Bad Newz For Cruz

A series of brand new trend polls (three – full pdf’s below) highlight an ongoing discussion/trend. With increased visibility Senator Ted Cruz support decreases.
It would be inaccurate to say Cruz is collapsing, if it were not for multiple polls indicating the same trend line.  However, when you have three completely disparate polls, indicating an almost identical retraction, you cannot dismiss the reality.
Fox News and IPSOS Rueters both identify the issue on a national scale, and within the CBS polling of Pennsylvania voters you find the specifics as to why.  First, the Fox Trend Poll showing Donald Trump extending his lead over Cruz to 18 points, as Cruz support plummets by 11 points in a month:
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton greets a supporter following her address at the 18th Annual David N. Dinkins Leadership and Public Policy Forum at Columbia University in New York
(Via Fox News) Donald Trump jumps to an 18-point lead over Ted Cruz this week with record high support for the Republican nomination.
Trump tops Cruz by 45-27 percent among GOP primary voters in a new Fox News national poll on the 2016 election.  John Kasich comes in third with 25 percent. (more…)
