It’s the humanitarian thing to do…. they say. Think about the poor children… they say. Sound familiar? It should; it’s the exact same argument made last year when liberals were demanding the U.S. take in tens of thousands of Central/South American “children” refugees. It’s also complete and utter BS.
Remember February: “ISLAMIC STATE THREATENS TO FLOOD EUROPE WITH REFUGEES” – We’re deep in the weeds currently translating Turkish, Greek, Hungarian and Syrian media reports. What we are finding is a massive disinformation campaign, fraught with jaw dropping falsehood. (more on that tomorrow) In the interim:
WASHINGTON POST – Democratic presidential hopeful Martin O’Malley on Friday called for the United States to welcome at least 65,000 Syrian refugees by the end of next year, saying the country’s actions to date have fallen short of the values of “a generous and compassionate people.”
In arguing that the United States should take in far more than the 5,000 to 8,000 refugees currently planned, O’Malley, the former Maryland governor, pointed to the images this week of 3-year-old Aylan Kurdi, a Syrian refugee who washed up dead on a Turkish beach after a failed attempt to reach Greece.
