Typical New York Democrat and hypocritical liberal elitism on display. Mayor Bill de Blasio puts a fence around his mayoral home.
NEW YORK – Mayor Bill de Blasio, a self-declared progressive “man of the people,” has erected a massive new “privacy fence” to keep his constituents from looking in on Gracie Mansion.

The new fence — constructed just inside an existing red brick wall and a wrought-iron fence ringing the historic property — was actually dubbed a “privacy fence” by de Blasio and first lady Chirlane McCray, sources told The Post.
“So much for being mayor of the people. That brick fence was good enough for Rudy Giuliani and his family, and for Ed Koch and all the mayors before him,” a law enforcement source said.
Sources said the increasingly thin-skinned mayor demanded the extension because he was sick of nosy people in Carl Schurz Park peeping in while he hung out in the yard. (read more)
The last federal budget was signed into law September 2007 by President Bush. Since then the past 7 fiscal years have been funded under continuing resolution bills.
In a sane world the Republicans would have only funded Fiscal Year 2015 through April, and taken the position of waiting to see President Obama’s budget proposal for FY 2016 which is due in February. (President Obama has never met a statutorily required budget submission deadline). Alas, another year funded by CR.
Via Politico – In a big win for House Republicans and President Barack Obama, the House passed a $1 trillion-plus funding bill Thursday night that will keep the government open into next year.
The final vote, which came after a high drama day of behind the scenes arm twisting and vote counting, was 219 to 206.
The Senate passed a two-day funding bill following the House vote, avoiding a government shutdown starting at midnight Thursday. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), however, warned that the “cromnibus,” as the massive spending package has come to be called on Capitol Hill, may not pass the Senate until Monday. (more…)

We have withheld a discussion thread on the entire Rolling Stone / UVA Rape Scandal because, well, quite frankly, we’ve got our hands full just dealing with the inbound hate from the professional grievance crowd. The last thing we would like to add is a strong dose of inbound fem-Nazi’s (ie. the ideological compatriots of the BGI with an additional gender grievance). There’s only so much moonbattery you can take.

That said, when you see the far left media trying to sulk their way to the exits you know the point has been reached where it’s safe time to call the baby ugly.
The entire controversy was constructed around a seriously unstable, attention desperate, false victim. Her Tawana Brawley-like story was then collected by, solicited by, promoted by and sold by, a rabid similarly minded fem-leftist working at Rolling Stone; Sabrina Erdely playing the role of Al Sharpton.
It was all BS. ALL OF IT.
This is the first time, and most likely the last time, you’ll ever see a Slate article shared here – however, the mere fact they are being cited should show how ridiculously false this entire construct has been from the outset. With that, we bow out: (more…)
Even the New York Times is forced to admit gun control activists have gone too far. The landscape has shifted, more Americans now favor gun rights and gun ownership.
Pew Study – For the first time in more than two decades of Pew Research Center surveys, there is more support for gun rights than gun control. Currently, 52% say it is more important to protect the right of Americans to own guns, while 46% say it is more important to control gun ownership.
Support for gun rights has edged up from earlier this year, and marks a substantial shift in attitudes since shortly after the Newtown school shootings, which occurred two years ago this Sunday.
The balance of opinion favored gun control in the immediate aftermath of the Newtown tragedy in December 2012, and again a month later. Since January 2013, support for gun rights has increased seven percentage points – from 45% to 52% — while the share prioritizing gun control has fallen five points (from 51% to 46%). (read more)

The Democrat Senate committee reviewed more than 6 million pages of top-secret CIA documents and found that the architect of the interrogation program was a retired Air Force psychologist named James Mitchell, an agency contractor who — according to news reports — personally waterboarded alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. The Senate report does not identify Mitchell by name.
Mitchell has a signed a non-disclosure agreement with the CIA and was unable to discuss his alleged role in the agency’s enhanced interrogation program, but VICE News met up with him in suburban Florida to discuss the Senate’s report and one of the darkest chapters of the war on terror. This is the first time Mitchell has ever appeared on camera:
We said it four months ago, and we’ll say it again: Virginia’s Got A Problem They Won’t Admit To… and it’s getting worse.
The same Police Chief who was passionate about Hannah Graham’s murder has another homicide on his hands in the same area of Charlottesville. This time a woman and her teenage daughter were beaten to death by the suspect, their house then set on fire.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — The elementary school teacher and her teenage daughter murdered in their Charlottesville home Friday night were not random crime victims, Charlottesville Police Chief Tim Longo said during a Tuesday morning news conference.
Murder suspect Gene Everett Washington, 30, and victim Mani Aldridge, 17, knew each other prior to Friday’s crime. Chief Longo would not go into detail about the relationship between Washington and the Charlottesville High School junior. (more…)

The murder of 19-year-old Jessica Lane Chambers is perhaps one of the most gruesome acts of violence in recent memory. The full backstory is available here. However, in the comments section LJP asks a question and ponders a research concern.
I’ll explain after you watch this video. Watch and “listen” closely:
