FBI Questions Girlfriend of Las Vegas Shooter…

All of the reporting surrounding Marilou Danley (62), girlfriend of shooter Stephen Paddock (64), remains odd.   CTH noted last night not to put too much emphasis on these media reports as they are subject to 180° turns and twists.  [The retraction by Newsweek is another example.]  Often “subjects of interest” fall into the ‘Villain-to-Victim-to-Villain’ flow of news cycles.

According to a CNN report, using a Southeast Asia immigration official for sourcing, despite claims of her U.S. residency and Filipino origin, Ms. Danley travels on an Australian passport:

[…]  After the attack, authorities in the United States, the Philippines and Australia joined efforts to search for Danley, hoping she might shed some light on the motive behind the deadliest mass shooting in modern US history.
Danley landed Tuesday at Los Angeles International Airport, a law enforcement source told CNN. She was accompanied by the FBI in Los Angeles, where Las Vegas police planned to question her, the source said.

"Known Wolf" – Canadian Somali Terrorist Was U.S. Deportee Who Fled to Canada…

Oh my.  This is awkward.  The Somali terrorist who carried out the attack in Edmonton Canada, injuring five people, was originally in the U.S. and evaded deportation by seeking refugee status in Canada.
EDMONTON, Alberta (Reuters) – The Somali immigrant charged with attempted murder in connection with a weekend vehicle and knife attack in Edmonton, Alberta, was detained in the United States pending deportation before claiming refugee status in Canada, U.S. officials said on Tuesday.
Abdulahi Hasan Sharif, 30, is accused of running down a police officer with his car on Saturday night and then stabbing him repeatedly. Police said he fled before driving a U-Haul truck into four pedestrians during an attempt to evade capture.
Sharif was in custody in the United States for about four months in the summer and autumn of 2011, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokeswoman Lauren Mack said in a statement.
He was ordered deported to Somalia but released on an “order of supervision” on Nov. 23, 2011. Sharif did not appear for a scheduled meeting in January 2012, and efforts to locate him “were not successful,” the statement said.

More Details Surface In Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Massacre – Shooter Had Cameras Set Up, 23 Guns…

The latest details from the Las Vegas Mandalay Bay Massacre highlight some alarming possibilities.  It is being reported by several media outlets (AP HERE) and (Daily Mail HERE) that Stephen Paddock had cameras inside and outside the hotel room to monitor and film the carnage.
You might remember the San Bernardino terrorist attack and the FBI reports of recording cameras carried by the shooters.  That story disappeared after several days of investigators looking for possible locations of the cameras in the time the shooters had between the shooting and their eventual death in a hail of gunfire.

Apparently, Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock also used cameras to monitor the halls outside his hotel room and possibly filmed himself:

(Via AP) Authorities say the gunman in the Las Vegas shooting set up cameras inside and outside the hotel room where he opened fire on the crowd at a country music concert.
Sheriff Joe Lombardo said at a news conference Tuesday that he believes shooter Stephen Craig Paddock set up the cameras to see if anyone was coming to take him into custody. He did not release further details. (link)

If Paddock had cameras set up it begs the question: how was he monitoring them?  If a WiFi monitor was set up inside the room, that increases the possibility he was not only recording, but potentially broadcasting his attack.

Updates: Mandalay Bay Massacre – Gunman Wired $100k to Philippines – First Look at Weapons…

Yesterday the relationship between shooter Stephen Craig Paddock (64), his girlfriend Marilou Danley (62), and the Philippines was part of the discussion.  Today it is revealed that Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines the week before he carried out the worst mass shooting in U.S. history:

(Via NBC) Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock wired $100,000 to an account in his live-in girlfriend’s home country of the Philippines in the week before he unleashed the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history, according to multiple senior law enforcement officials.
But while officials have confirmed that Marilou Danley was in the Philippines on Sunday when Paddock opened fire on a crowd attending a country music festival on the Vegas Strip, it was not known whether the money was for her, her family, or another purpose. (link)

Additionally, a reporter from Boston25 was able to get pictures of at least two of the weapons used by Stephen Paddock during the shooting:

Police Scanner Full Audio During Las Vegas "Mandalay Bay Massacre'…

Full police scanner audio of the radio traffic during the response to the Las Vegas shooting.  The first radio call start time is approximately 10:08pm (local). Interestingly, only 42 seconds after first radio contact an unknown police officer reports the shooter is located in the Mandalay Bay hotel and gives approximate location of visible gunfire.
It is very likely that officer’s quick identification of shooter location saved many lives.
Warning: It can be disturbing to listen to the emotion during these radio calls. If you are not familiar with the anxiety such real-time audio can produce, you shouldn’t listen.
