Many CTH readers will painfully remember the 2014 brutal murder of 19-year-old Jessica Lane Chambers in the small town of Batesville Mississippi.

Jessica Chamber was burned to death on Dec. 6, 2014, and when the fire department found her she was still alive despite sustaining burns on 98 percent on her body.  She died a few hours later at the hospital. CTH invested a lot of time researching the attack and the evidence surrounding the murder.  [Category “Justice for Jessica”]
The trial of her killer, 28-year-old Quinton Verdell Tellis, begins today with jury selection in Magnolia Mississippi.  The jurors will then be transported to Batesville Mississippi for the trial.  There is a local reporter, Therese Apel, who has done exceptional reporting on the entire story from day #1. Despite the insufferable Chris Wallace this interview with Steve Wynn is interesting from the perspective of a guy who knows everything there is to know about the security behind operating massive hotels and casinos in Las Vegas.
Additionally, as one might expect, it appears Mr. Wynn might be holding some insider information on the attack.  The point about hotel guests using service elevators seemed more Freudian than accidental.

Put this in the ‘Things Moonbats Do That Backfire‘ folder.
The day after California Governor Jerry Brown signs a bill that prevents local police notifying ICE of illegal alien arrests ICE notifies California their new law forces workplace raids as enforcement actions:

SB54 will negatively impact ICE operations in California by nearly eliminating all cooperation and communication with our law enforcement partners in the state, voiding the delegated authority that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office has under the 287g program, and prohibiting local law enforcement from contracting with the federal government to house detainees.
ICE will have no choice but to conduct at-large arrests in local neighborhoods and at worksites, which will inevitably result in additional collateral arrests, instead of focusing on arrests at jails and prisons where transfers are safer for ICE officers and the community. ICE will also likely have to detain individuals arrested in California in detention facilities outside of the state, far from any family they may have in California.

A few new developments in the ongoing mystery surrounding the Mandalay Bay Massacre:

• Mystery hotel companion identified as a prostitute. (Possibly Asian Female)
• Ammunition purchases made under name not Stephen Paddock.
• Home security footage surfaces of Paddock en route to target practice.
• Note found in hotel room contained mysterious numbers.

According to an ABC report police have identified the mystery woman who was seen with Stephen Paddock as a prostitute; her name is being withheld:

LAS VEGAS (KABC) —  The woman who was seen with Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock days before the massacre was a prostitute, officials tell ABC News.
Authorities did not elaborate on the woman’s identity.
Meantime, investigators are still trying to figure out whether Paddock acted alone. Authorities believe he may have had an accomplice, based on the elaborate planning on Sunday night’s rampage.

Life With Jihad – Another possible terrorist attack today in London England as a cab driver intentionally plows into a group of pedestrians outside the London Natural History Museum. It appears his rampage was hampered by the bollards and barricades recently put into place as a security precaution.

[Details from Daily Mail] Several people have been injured after a car mounted the pavement and mowed down pedestrians outside the Natural History Museum in London this afternoon.
A man was pinned down by security guards and arrested by police in the heart of the capital’s museum land in Kensington.
Hundreds of terrified tourists fled the scene as the black Toyota Prius – a registered minicab – careered into a sign before ultimately crashing into a crowd of as many as 10 people as it hit a silver car, according to witnesses.

Today the Las Vegas Police and FBI announced a campaign to get additional information, “true knowledge”, from the public. The FBI has created a specific call line: “1-800-CALL-FBI”, or (1-800-225-5324). The career-minded undersheriff held the presser.
There were virtually no answers to looming questions provided within the latest briefing. Officials are certain there was no additional shooters, but they are not sure if there was an accomplice aiding Stephen Paddock. Incredulously, some of the media questions would appear to be easily answered, or refuted, if the investigators watched the CCTV from the Mandalay casino/hotel; yet, they remain unanswered.

(Via NBC) Investigators are trying to determine whether someone else was in the Las Vegas gunman’s hotel room when he was registered there, senior law enforcement officials briefed on the investigation told NBC News.
The investigators are puzzled by two discoveries: First, a charger was found that does not match any of the cellphones that belonged to the gunman, Stephen Paddock.
And second, garage records show that during a period when Paddock’s car left the hotel garage, one of his key cards was used to get into his room.

Gateway Pundit is sharing a report from SunOnline which appears to contradict the framework of what Marilou Danley has stated to law enforcement.  At least as it has been described by media.
Previously, media have stated Marilou Danley had no idea Stephen Craig Paddock had dozens of rifles and weapons stored in the house.  Additionally, again according to media reports, Danley and Paddock lived together and she left for a vacation to visit friends before he went on the attack in Las Vegas.

However, according to neighbors of the house in Reno, these media reports don’t match the actual behavior:

In an exclusive interview with Sun Online, Suzy Page, 68, who lives next door to Paddock and his girlfriend Marilou Danley, said: “It was the talk of the neighbourhood what on earth he had stashed in the safe, it was as big as a refrigerator…
…“I lived next door to him and his girlfriend and never once got as much as a smile out of him.

The latest press conference from Las Vegas reveals some stunning information.  During the Q&A within the latest update the Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo noted the shooter Stephen Paddock had an apparent escape strategy to survive the attack.
As more information is revealed the scope of the pre-planning by Stephen Craig Paddock lends to a strong probability that more than one person is involved.  [We’ll keep looking for better video of latest presser.]  Better (full) video found:

• *Paddock led a secretive life. No social media presence.
• *Paddock previously scouted a prior venue.
• TIMELINE:
• *10:05pm shooting begins. Suspect on 32nd floor.
  *10:12pm First two officers arrive on 31st floor stating gunfire origin on 32nd floor.
  *10:15pm Last shots fired by suspect.
  *10:17pm First two officers arrive on 32nd floor.
  *10:18pm Security guard, Jose Campos tells police he was shot and exact room location.
  *10:26-10:30pm Eight additional officers arrive on 32nd floor. Begins evacuation.
  *10:55pm Eight additional officers arrive at suspect hotel room door.
  *11:20pm Initial room breach. Suspect located. 2nd Door (room) identified.
  *11:27pm Second breach, 2nd room. Radio: All Clear – Suspect Down.
