According to Rasmussen reporting President Donald Trump is at a nearly two-year high of 52 percent approval. The latest poll shows 52% approve and 47% disapprove of Trump’s job performance.

Despite the scale and scope of media opposition this approval rating is the highest since March 6, 2017 and highlights two recent aspects: (1) The popularity of policy as outlined in the recent State of the Union Address; and (2) The democrats going over-the-top in their opposition to mostly pragmatic proposals.
Additionally, both CBS [poll here] and CNN [see here] reported broad support for President Trump’s policy initiatives as polled immediately after the State of the Union speech. [Nancy Pelosi, notsomuch]

The campaign of Amy Klobuchar is the latest in a string of 2020 presidential candidates who claim they will not take corporate PAC money for their 2020 presidential bid.
However, all of them (Klobuchar, Warren, Harris, Gillibrand et al) are fibbers, who are “grubering” ie. relying on the stupidity of the American voter. They will all take corporate donations, they will just obscure the funding therein. [Klobuchar example from 2018]:

That’s just a sample of the most recent Klobuchar corporate contributions, there are thousands more.
Dark Money is how most campaigns are financed [SEE HERE]. Democrats just do a better job than most of hiding it behind plausible deniability. To be fair, there were a few candidates in 2016 who genuinely didn’t rely on corporate funding: ex. Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders had the best track record of small group donations. However, for the vast majority of all other candidates, they rely on corporate funding and specifically the funding through corporate political action committees (PACs).

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar will enter the 2020 presidential race today. The media will likely frame the 58-year-old three term senator as a moderate voice. However, Kloubuchar is well known in DC for her nasty and spiteful disposition and tendency toward fits of uncontrollable rage and anger.
(Via Reuters) […] A former prosecutor and corporate attorney, Klobuchar joins a list of Democratic hopefuls that includes fellow Senators Cory Booker of New Jersey, Kamala Harris of California and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.
Warren heads to Iowa to campaign on Sunday after formally launching her bid on Saturday. Booker is also spending the weekend in the Midwestern farm state.
Klobuchar’s campaign announcement comes amid several news reports that staff in her Senate office were asked to do menial tasks, including some personal in nature like laundry, making it difficult for her to hire high-level campaign strategists
Ooof… Virginia politics has twice circled back through crazy and now enters a bizarro hall of mirrors. The #1 official, Governor Northam, and the #3 official, Attorney General Mark Herring, have admitted to wearing blackface. The #2 official, Lt. Gov Fairfax, who is black, is accused of rape. It now looks like the two blackface white guys will hang on to office and the black guy accused of sexual assault will be removed. This is goofy as heck.

With two victims now speaking out, and the potential for more victims soon to surface, national and local democrats in Virginia are demanding that AG Fairfax resign or he will face impeachment next week. No word yet on likely consequences for the Klanned Parenthood Governor, or blackface Attorney General.
(AP UPDATE) The Virginia Legislative Black Caucus has joined the growing chorus of elected officials and others calling for Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax to resign over sexual assault allegations.
The group of lawmakers said Friday that “we can’t see it in the best interest” of Virginia for Fairfax to stay.
Fairfax, a Democrat, is only the second African-American to ever win statewide office. The caucus’ call for his resignation leaves him with virtually no base of political support.
Democrats in Virginia’s state House and Senate are calling for Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax to resign, as he faces sexual assault allegations from two women.
Cory “Spartacus” Booker rallies his presidential coalition to advocate for the Green New Deal by comparing bovine flatulence regulation to the U.S. moon landing and defeat of World War II Nazism.
The over-their-head irony is that “Nazism” is technically national socialism; which is exactly the current point of political advocacy within the Spartacus coalition. WATCH:

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, aka “Occasional Cortex“, revealed an energy and social justice plan today called “The Green New Deal“, promising a massive transformation of American society. However, the substance (full pdf below) is so ridiculous, there are many people now wondering if she and her allies were set-up by political opponents to make themselves look like fools.

If you thought Virginia politics couldn’t get any more bizarre… well, it did.
Virginia Democrat Governor Ralph Northam, who previously advocated for infanticide, is under siege for pictures in his college yearbook outlining Blackface and KKK tendencies. Every local state and national Democrat has told him to step down…. However, the Virginia Lieutenant Governor, Justin Fairfax, who would replace Northam, is also under siege as credible claims of sexual harassment and sexual assault are starting to surface.

If Northam and Fairfax are forced from office, that would put the #3 official, the Virginia Attorney General, Mark Herring, into place…. but,… wait for it,… yep, now AG Herring is saying he also wore blackface in college. You can’t make this stuff up:
VIRGINIA – Richmond, Va. (AP) — Virginia sank deeper into political turmoil Wednesday when another top Democrat — Attorney General Mark Herring — admitted putting on blackface in the 1980s, when he was a college student.
With Gov. Ralph Northam’s career in peril over a racist photo in his 1984 medical school yearbook, Herring issued a statement saying he wore brown makeup and a wig in 1980 to look like a rapper during a party as a 19-year-old at the University of Virginia.
It is going to be harder for Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer to work against funding border security after tonight. President Donald Trump’s State of The Union speech was measured by CBS after delivery. The results were initally tweeted:
♦ 76 percent of CBS viewers approved of what they heard in President. Trump’s SOTU speech;
♦ 72 percent of CBS viewers said they approved of President Trump’s SOTU ideas for immigration.

First in – first out. And now we see why the professional elements within the DNC machine moved to distance themselves from presidential candidate Senator Elizabeth Warren.
The Washington Post filed a public records request in Texas to receive Ms. Warren’s registration card for the State Bar. Despite her previous claims to the contrary, the registration card clearly shows Senator Warren did falsely claim “American Indian” heritage in her own handwriting.

WaPo […] Warren filled out the card by hand in neat blue ink and signed it. Dated April 1986, it is the first document to surface showing Warren making the claim in her own handwriting. Her office didn’t dispute its authenticity. (more)
In the last week Virginia politics went from sad, to weird, to flat-out bizarre. The current Governor, Ralph Northam, has been outlined as a racist supporter of infanticide and everyone is calling for him to step down. Today, the current black Lieutenant Governor, Justin Fairfax, who would replace Northam, is credibly accused of sexual assault…. and in response he claims the racist baby-killing governor is the source of the assault allegations.

RICHMOND, Va. — Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of Virginia emphatically denied on Monday a woman’s claim that he sexually assaulted her in 2004, suggesting at one point that Gov. Ralph Northam’s supporters were trying to block his ascent to the governorship at a moment when Mr. Northam is besieged by demands that he resign over charges of racism.
“Does anybody think it’s any coincidence that on the eve of potentially my being elevated that that’s when this dsmear comes out?” Mr. Fairfax told reporters surrounding him in the rotunda of the state Capitol about whether he believes Mr. Northam, a fellow Democrat, was behind the accusation’s coming to light.
