On June 24th we somewhat sarcastically predicted that PGA golfer Bubba Watson would be sucked into the ridiculous vortex that is “confederate flag syndrome”.

Today, that ridiculous prediction has come true.

Golf star Bubba Watson will paint over the Confederate flag on the General Lee, a prop car from the television show “The Dukes of Hazzard,” in light of the brewing controversy over the flag.  (link)

Oddly enough, when looking back through the Treehouse archives to get the link to the Bubba Watson prediction, we discovered this earlier prediction from April 2014 when spontaneous acts of confederacy were not being nationally reported.

WASHINGTON (AP) — New York hedge fund billionaire George Soros and Hollywood director Steven Spielberg are among the biggest donors to a super PAC backing Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential run, according to a super PAC official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss fundraising.

In all, the super PAC Priorities USA Action will report having raised $15.6 million in the past three months when it files its fundraising information this month with the Federal Election Commission. Super PACs can take donations of unlimited size. The biggest gift was worth $2 million and came from media mogul Haim Saban, owner of the Spanish-language Univision network.

Donors include film producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, investor Donald Sussman, Boston political activist Barbara Lee and the Plumbers and Pipefitters union. Actress Katie McGrath and her husband, producer J.J. Abrams, also contributed. (more…)

Shockingly, none of the 144 murdered were killed by flags.  Mayor Rawlings-Blake says the current level of slaughter is “disheartening”.  Last month, Rawlings-Blake said city police officers need to do their jobs or face internal discipline…

BALTIMORE – Danielle Wilder said she has moved from her Baltimore home but isn’t telling anyone — even family members — where she lives now..

“The next thing, one of us will be dead. We don’t know. We have moved, and I have not given my address to family members. We just don’t know,” she said.

Wilder lost her sister, Jennifer Jeffrey-Browne, 31, and nephew, 7-year-old Kester “Tony” Browne, last month when the mother and son were found shot to death in their Southwest Baltimore home.

The Brownes are two of the city’s 144 homicide victims in the first six months of the year, a 48 percent increase over last year. Much of the surge in violence has come in the aftermath of the April 19 death of Freddie Gray, which touched off protests, rioting, looting and arson in the city. (more…)

It started when Julie Baker claimed a neighbor had written her a note saying her yard decorations were “relentlessly gay”.

….“Put simply, I am a widow and the mother of four children, my youngest in high school and I WILL NOT Relent to Hatred,” she wrote. “Instead, I will battle it with whimsy and beauty and laughter and love, wrapped around my home, yard and family!!!”…

The Baltimore Sun promoted Ms. Baker’s claims with an article on June 18th supporting her advocacy and intentions to raise additional money to make her yard even more “relentlessly gay”.

Except now, well, there’s a problem. Baker claimed she talked to the police about the “threat”. The police said um, well, not-so-much; and the neighbor letter Baker was supposed to have been given, well, apparently that’s disappeared too.

Julie Baker was just scamming everyone, and she fleeced the rainbow sheeple for $43,000. (more…)

ALABAMA – A huge change may be on the way to Linn Park. Birmingham’s Parks and Recreation Board voted to remove a monument honoring confederate soldiers and sailors.

Pelham’s original Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy no longer exists. Its gift to the city of Birmingham does. The chapter put a monument celebrating confederate soldiers and sailors in Linn Park in 1905.

“There is nothing offensive about these soldiers standing up for their rights. Just like those who fought for the civil rights. They fought for their rights. There is no flag on it to be offensive. It’s just a monument to war veterans,” said Birmingham Resident Ronald Hagood.

Hagood wants the monument to stay at Linn Park. He’s taking pictures to remember its rightful place.

Sarah Jackson never paid attention to the monument in her 67 years of living in Birmingham.  She’s taking the time now to look and finds it offensive. (more…)

Anyone who does not see the current strain of Obama liberalism as a pro-Castro has not been paying attention to the past 6 years.

WASHINGTON DC – As President Obama announced that Cuba was restoring full diplomatic relations, reopening embassies in Washington and Havana after more than five decades, Cuba was once again demanding the U.S. return Guantanamo to the country.

“To achieve normalization [of diplomatic relations] it will be essential also that the territory illegally occupied by the Guantanamo Naval Base is returned,” read a declaration posted on Granma, the official organ of the Communist Party in the island.

The Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, home to Guantanamo Bay detention camp since 2012, is located on 45 square miles of a bay the U.S. leased for use as a coaling and naval station in 1903. (more…)

COLORADO – A Colorado Springs man was arrested after police believe he left racist messages outside a church.

Vincent Broughton, 44, who is black, is facing charges for committed a bias-motivated crime and disorderly conduct.

The signs were posted outside the New Covenant church that is predominately attended by African Americans. One sign references the KKK. Another reads, “Black men beware, you are the target.”

WASHINGTON DC –  It is rare for news events, even as momentous as the past week’s, to drown out absolute proof that a candidate for president has lied willfully to the public and Congress. Yet precisely such proof has emerged, and it has appeared not only in this newspaper but also in The New York Times (albeit with a headline designed not to draw attention).

Americans learned this spring that Hillary Clinton, in contravention of federal records rules and current law, conducted all her State Department business using a private email address, housed in a server at her home in Westchester County, N.Y.

But not to worry — the former secretary of state swore that she had diligently preserved and passed to the State Department every email she had written in the course of her job. Even though she destroyed all the evidence by wiping the server afterward, she assured the public that everything related to her conduct of official business had been kept and turned over, as the law requires.
