The Justice Department has brought a third criminal case against former FBI Director James Comey, charging him with leaking classified information about government surveillance techniques to The New York Times in 2016.
The Dept of Justice has unsealed a superseding ‘information’ filing with the court that was originally sealed on October 5th when it was filed with the court. The criminal information was filed October 5th because the ten-year statute of limitations was close (event date October 5, 2016) and the DOJ wanted to toll the statute, permitting prosecution of James Comey. {SEE pdf HERE} Comey is notified about potential charges stemming from the information as filed.
Former FBI Director James Comey and his attorneys were notified by the DOJ on October 9, 2016, that an information had been filed on October 5th. Lawyers representing James Comey then asked the court to dismiss the case; however, in the DOJ response to the Comey motion the details of the violation are laid out {SEE pdf and Attachments Here}.
The Court records unsealed yesterday show federal prosecutors filed two felony charges against Comey October 5th in connection with a media leak. The charges stem from a Times article about Yahoo adapting its spam filter to accommodate surveillance requests from the FBI.
Whether the indictment succeeds or not (dual-justice DC trial issue), former FBI Director James Comey is going to have to pay money to defend himself.
WASHINGTON, Oct 26 (Reuters) – The US Justice Department is attempting to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey for a third time, the latest case accusing him of sharing sensitive national security information in 2016, according to court documents made public on Monday.
The case was revealed in a court document known as a “criminal information” that the Justice Department said it filed to stop the 10-year statute of limitations on the offense from expiring earlier this month.
The document filed in Washington federal court charges Comey with transmitting and conspiring to transmit national defense information. It alleges he shared classified information with a reporter from the New York Times in October 2016.
Comey said in a video on Instagram that “they’re back again” and referenced the Justice Department, but did not provide further details. “I’m still innocent,” he added. Comey’s lawyers have already asked a judge to dismiss the case, arguing it is legally improper.
“I think he’s a dirty cop,” President Donald Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, when asked about Comey. “I don’t know much about it,” he said.
The new case adds to the legal fights facing Comey, whom the Justice Department has already charged twice, accusing him of lying to Congress about media leaks and threatening Trump in a social media post. A judge dismissed the false statements case, while the threats case remains pending. (read more)

Keep up the effort. Attack from multiple fronts. We only have to win once to put that SOB in jail.
Ya beat me to the punch.
He’s just laughing in our face. Need to slap that smile off his face.
I’d be happy if he had to spend his own money for his defense, but I feel like ‘others’ will cover his legal costs.
Tell me I’m wrong (lie to me if you have to).
The ‘others’ will probably find a way to make taxpayers foot the bill through an NGO.
You’re not making Linus feel better
Isn’t that a Stevie Nicks song?
Johnny Lang, Lie to Me.
He will get a book deal that will cover his legal costs.
Grind him out with the D’s favorite weapon, lawfare.
Would not a single conviction on any of these cases provide grounds for a prosecution of Treason? His position made him a defender of our nation, and his actions are treasonous in my opinion
Nope.
Write that check LMAO. He deserves every bit of it and more.
Unfortunately, I’m afraid this is going nowhere except to give ammunition to the argument that Trump is persecuting his political enemies.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d like to see Comey swinging from a gallows, but I’ve seen how things have gone before and I don’t think it’s likely.
Ah the old two faced argument.
When they frame Trump allies, it is all proper application of the law.
When Trump doesn’t actively stop investigations of their law breaking, it is prosecuting political enemies.
They want the DOJ to be independent. Unless it helps them.
The key word in your statement was “afraid.”
President Trump is not afraid. We should not be afraid either.
Prosecuting the Dirty Cop is the right thing to do. The prosecution might succeed or it might fail. That doesn’t change the fact that it is the right thing to do.
I pray that President Trump continues to do that which is right without fear or favor.
I pray that our President’s authentic MAGA base will continue to support him without fear.
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”—Isaiah 41-10
I feel your pain on this one. But I’m trying to adjust my perspective.
Justice is God’s domain. In the meantime, seeing Comey embroiled in [hopefully] protracted legal troubles is a lovely start.
This makes me think of Fauci, who can no longer be the “medical expert on call” for all media due to his senate testimony. That’s all he ever wanted! And it is the one thing he no longer has. That is a measure of justice IMO.
Comey has the most punchable face around.
As does his former protégé, Peter Stzrok. Arrogant, obnoxious and very punchable.
His case is in the corrupt DC District Court loaded with obama/biden leftist activist Judges and deep state jurors he’ll never get convicted! JMO
Seem to recall that the DC judge assigned the case was appointed by PDJT.
The Judge will need extra Security reguardless.
Unfortunately, a couple SCOTUS picks were also appointed by Trump. Wasn’t it Heritage Foundation who “suggests” such appointments. 🤮
At least we have a fighting chance vs. A BO, slojo appointed DH.
Unfortunately, he will never see the inside of a prison, it’s dc. As far as the legal fees, the lefties will set up a go-fund-me account, and he will collect millions in donations for his defense.
So far, nothing in its past performance suggests that the DOJ will succeed.
The rot at the top.
So the fake news bit him in the ass.
Irony x a million.
The spy who shagged himself – Corny Comey
The Process *IS* the punishment. Isn’t that how it works?
Maybe Corney will make a misstep and accidently provide key information to be used in future trials
Saint Comey. The world’s most sanctimonious man.
