Baghdad (AFP) – The leader of the Islamic State jihadist group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, purportedly ordered all Muslims to obey him in a video released Saturday on social media.

The hitherto elusive Baghdadi, who on June 29 proclaimed a “caliphate” straddling Syria and Iraq, made his appeal in a sermon delivered on Friday in the militant-held northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
“I am the wali (leader) who presides over you, though I am not the best of you, so if you see that I am right, assist me,” he said, wearing a black turban and robe. (more…)

You might have seen reports today about heightened concerns for airline travel. Some media reports are discussing explosives that can be hidden from normal detection methods, or similar.
Here’s a snippet of a report from the AP wire – something about the way this report is worded spikes the spidey sense. (The emphasis is mine):

WASHINGTON – Intelligence officials are concerned about a new al-Qaida effort to create a bomb that would go undetected through airport security, according to a counterterrorism official, prompting the U.S. to call for tighter security measures Wednesday at some foreign airports.

“Given the defendant’s proclivity for violence as well as his ability to readily communicate with other similar-minded individuals, as demonstrated by his status as a commander of an extremist brigade, his detention is the only means available to neutralize that threat,” prosecutors said in a court filing late Tuesday. Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn are ideological leftist compadres with the Boston Bombers, the Tsarnaev brothers.
Both pairs used explosive devices to further their ideological cause. Both pairs would willingly kill U.S. citizens to prove their commitment to their cause. Both pairs believe in a system of leftist construct. Both pairs have committed murder. For both pairs the ideological ends justify the means.
Megyn Kelly interviews Bill Ayers tonight at 9:00pm on Fox.
