The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) has reached a tentative agreement with port owners and representatives of USMX, for a reported 62% contract increase in wages over six years. As a result, the dockworker strike is suspended as negotiations on other aspects of the contract are extended through January 15, 2025.
According to the New York Times – […] A 62 percent increase would raise the top longshoremen’s wage to just over $63 per hour at the end of a new six-year contract, from today’s $39 per hour. And at $63 an hour, the wages of East and Gulf Coast longshoremen would slightly exceed those that will be earned by West Coast longshoremen, who belong to a different union, at the end of their contract in 2027.
In the resumed talks, the issue of how much automation can occur at the ports could divide the sides. The union has also been pressing for improved retirement benefits. (more)

The overall prosecution attempt by Jack Smith was fundamentally deconstructed when the Supreme Court ruled mostly in favor of President Trump carrying ‘presidential immunity’ for officials acts while in office. The ruling meant Smith had to go back to Judge Tanya Chutkan’s court and work through a process of outlining what is and is not an ‘official act’ according to the DOJ.
The result of that approach was made public yesterday, when Judge Chutkan revealed a new 165-page indictment [SEE HERE], essentially a list of evidence the DOJ claims as proof of “unofficial acts” allowing them to jump the hurdle of “official acts.” However, the reality of Jack Smith’s filing is a story without much legal value. Instead, it is a 165-page Lawfare story created for media promotion.
Many followers have accepted that Jack Smith is not necessarily the person constructing the legal filings. There is a solid argument to be made that Andrew Weissmann, Norm Eisen and Mary McCord are the Lawfare allies tasked with writing the material. When you read the filing, the manipulation of legalese to shape a narrative story is clear.
As former DOJ Asst AG Jeffrey Clark has noted, the filing attempts to obfuscate the legal requirements of “state of mind” by projecting what President Trump must have thought, as expressed by the opinion of unknown advisors. Jack Smith says President Trump thought this, without actually providing any evidence of what President Trump thought. Additionally, this Lawfare approach toward including redacted quotes amounts to written testimony, which would never pass muster in any court.
The accused has a right to confront witnesses; however, in written text that questioning becomes impossible. In essence, Jack Smith violates the principle and stated purpose of the sixth amendment. This is one of the ways you can tell the filing itself is not intended to outline evidence, but rather to outline a story. The claimed “evidence” is simply a story the Lawfare team want to deliver in October of an election year.
President Trump sat down with Dave Ramsey to discuss specific economic drivers that will jump start the U.S. economy in 2025.
Beginning with an immediate shift in energy policy, President Trump sets the aggregate goal to reduce overall energy prices by 50% in the first year. The drop in energy price then begins to reverberate throughout all facets of the economy as the cost of goods sold, distributed and warehoused immediately lowers. This directly starts to lower the end price of goods.
President Trump then proposes a drop of the corporate tax rate from 21 percent to 15 percent. However, in order for corporations and manufacturers to get the lowered rate, they MUST produce their product INSIDE the USA. The tax drop will only apply to companies who produce goods domestically from USA origins. This approach further bolsters employment and wages as the companies shift operations to the USA to gain the favorable rate.
Dropping overall energy prices, targeting tariffs on strategic sectors, decreasing regulations, increasing domestic production, creating jobs, becoming less reliant on foreign goods and enhancing the Gross Domestic Product, directly expands the economy and provides more revenue for government operations. This is the MAGAnomic success formula that allows Social Security to survive without change.

Around 13:30 of the interview, Ramsey talks about the culture of excellence that exists within the Trump organization. President Trump notes that Eric Trump currently runs the organization and talks about one of the key secrets to their success, ‘promotion from within’.
Many Main Street titans will agree. Selecting excellence within the organization for direct advancement to leadership is the single biggest commonality of organizations who maintain excellent operations. In an era where people jump jobs, in a privately owned company – the ability to promote the best from within ensures long-term employment.
At 20:42, Dave Ramsey asks about President Trump returning to Butler, Pennsylvania to continue the rally interrupted by an assassination attempt. The Butler rally is scheduled for Saturday, October 5th.
I have outlined my general opinion about labor unions [HERE]. Now we are going to focus on the realities, politics and economic outcomes from an International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) strike.
I mostly support the strike. I even mostly support ILA President Harold Daggett, a man of notoriously intemperate and sketchy disposition. Daggett grew up in Queens, New York, directly at the same time and place as another wildly attacked industrialist turned titan of politics. It is safe to say, they know each other; but I’ll get to that later.
Let’s turn to the issues that matter. The dockworker strike has the potential to have major ramifications against the U.S. economy. If the docks don’t work, the imports and exports don’t happen. This could be a big mess, a really big mess if it goes on for a long time.
“People never gave a sh!t about us until now, when they finally realize that the chain is being broke now. Cars won’t come in, food won’t come in, clothing won’t come in.”
This union leader makes $900,000 per year. Maybe not the best spokesperson.
U.S. MEDIA – The US port workers launched the strike due to a labor dispute with employers’ group United States Maritime Alliance (USMX), after their six-year contract expired.
For their new contract, ILA wants USMX to increase wages by 77 percent over six years and bar any automation, which they believe threatens workers’ jobs.
During the Vice-Presidential debate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was asked about his repeated false statements where he claims to have been in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square protests in the spring of 1989.
While it was surprising that an ideologically aligned CBS team including Margaret Brennan actually asked Governor Walz about these lies, his response to the direct question was even more surprising. Within his response Tim Walz essentially reveals he is an impulsive liar, prone to making up fictitious statements about events seemingly only to elevate his own sense of value.
Each of us likely knows a person who holds a similar disposition to Tim Walz; there are many impulsive liars in our modern world; however, to see his publicly broadcast attempt at covering up for his history of repeated lies is really something else. WATCH and decide for yourself:
.
Apparently, Barack Obama, Eric Holder and James Clyburn selected the exact perfect match for Kamala Harris when they choose Tim Walz. Remember, former AG Eric Holder vetted all of the potential VP candidates, and as a consequence the long history of make believe that surrounds Walz must be known by those who are currently handling and controlling Kamala Harris and her campaign.
The only thing that makes sense, is that those who control Harris consider the flaws of Walz to be a feature or benefit to them. Both Harris and Walz represent a false front, a Potemkin village manufactured from nothing to present as something very useful. What Walz makes evident in the captured moment above, is that very dark forces are at work in the background. If there was no dangerous intent, he would never have passed muster.
Tonight, Vice Presidential candidates JD Vance and Tim Walz will debate for 90 minutes in New York. The debate is being simulcast by CBS and will be moderated by Norah O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan.
The debate is scheduled to begin at 9:00pm ET and run until 10:30pm ET. The debate will be in Studio 45 at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York. There will be 4 breaks for commercials. There will NOT be a live audience. There are no opening statements, but there will be 2 minute closing remarks. Livestream Links Below:

Independent journalist, Matt Taibbi delivered a strong speech at the recent ‘Rescue the Republic’ event. Taibbi outlines the issue of a lost fourth estate, where most common media have aligned with institutional systems to betray their original intent. The media now operates in a manner to control and shape information in order to shape public opinion to the benefit of their paymasters.
Known for his sharp critiques of power, all power, and willing to put himself at the forefront in opposition to any system that fails to represent traditional liberal values, Matt Taibbi discusses the importance of free speech, media integrity, and holding institutions accountable in today’s polarized political landscape. He speaks honestly, forthrightly and without pretense as he delivers remarks. [Salty language alert] WATCH:
This is every amateur speaker’s dream, to follow Russell Brand. Thanks a lot, God!
I was once taught you should always open an important speech by making reference to a shared experience.
So what do all of us at “Rescue the Republic” have in common? Nothing!
In a pre-Trump universe chimpanzees would be typing their fourth copy of Hamlet before RFK Jr., Robert Malone, Zuby, Tulsi Gabbard, Russell, Bret Weinstein and I would organically get together for any reason, much less an event like this.
True, everyone speaking has been censored. The issues were all different, but everyone disagreed with “authoritative voices” about something.
Perhaps anticipating that a political administration will drag heels and deflect funds, according to press secretary Karolin Leavitt, President Trump has authorized a GoFundMe campaign to assist victims of Hurricane Helene.
GoFundMe – “President Donald J. Trump has launched this GoFundMe campaign as an official response for MAGA supporters to offer their financial assistance to their fellow Americans impacted by Hurricane Helene. With so many across the Southeastern U.S. facing challenges after the storm, President Trump is on the ground in communities to see the aftermath firsthand. All donations will be directed to help those most affected by Hurricane Helene. Any level of generosity will go a long way for your fellow Americans who are suffering.”
