A little backstory… Long-time CTH readers will note we have been recommending since candidate Trump first announced, when Donald Trump won the presidency one of the priorities should be to put the Secret Service back into the U.S. Treasury Department.

The reasoning for our recommendations beginning in 2015 was simple: the scale of opposition to an outsider as President would be off-the-charts. DHS is a multi-layered matrix of conflicting political interests and career bureaucrats with internal agendas.
The recently visible political bias within the FBI is an example of the same issues likely to exist within another massive bureaucracy of the DHS. Removing the U.S. Secret Service, and putting them back into Treasury, would give them operational independence and renewed clarity of purpose. Current structures are just too sketchy. That said, here’s the latest…

Earlier today President Donald Trump visited a newly constructed replacement barrier at the U.S-Mexico border. After meeting with border patrol officials the president stopped to answer questions from the media.
[Transcript] 2:02 P.M. PDT – THE PRESIDENT: So, behind us is the wall. That’s the new wall. We’ve done a lot of it, and we’re doing a lot more. You see it over here. This is, unfortunately, a protection that I guess you need, because you don’t know who’s on the other side of the border. I hope it works. This is just a concrete protector.

[U.S. Border Patrol] […] Family Unit Aliens (FMUA) are crossing our borders in record numbers. This fiscal year to date, CBP has seen a more than 300 percent increase in the number of family units apprehended compared to the same time period in fiscal year 2018.

To adequately absorb the scale being outlined here: it must be remembered in July 2014 President Obama and DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson declared a “border crisis” and requested $3.7 billion in budget appropriations for a total of 60,000 illegal border crossings during the migrant travel season. That’s 60,000 TOTAL in 2014.

According to NPR, citing current DHS Border Patrol stats, in the period of October 2018 through last week there have been more than 260,000 border apprehensions.
(Via NPR) The U.S. Border Patrol apprehended more than 66,000 migrants at the Southern border in February, the highest total for a single month in almost a decade.
The majority of those arrested were migrant families or children traveling alone or without a parent, according to figures released Tuesday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Many of the migrants say they’re fleeing criminal gangs and poverty in Central America to seek asylum in the United States.
No issue exposes the nature of the UniParty agenda in congress; and no issue highlights the disconnect between the UniParty ruling class; and no issue displays how much lobbyist funding indulges the Uniparty membership; as the issue of immigration and open borders.
The multinational interests of Wall Street, business groups, big AG, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and their K-Street lobbyists pay the UniParty congress tens-of-millions to keep U.S. immigration policy weak and the U.S-Mexico border unsecured.
The only person who is not a beneficiary within this immigration scheme is President Donald Trump.
Today House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is set to kick-off a congressional vote in an attempt to block President Trump’s declaration of a national security emergency. We can anticipate multiple purchased republican (decepticon) members going along with the Pelosi plan.
To highlight the duplicitous and fraudulent position of these congressional members, it’s worth noting when President Obama used the same executive branch declaration to allow illegal aliens to receive deferred deportation action none of the aforementioned UniParty interests made any similar effort to stop the declaration.

Earlier today President Donald Trump delivered remarks announcing his intention to use a national emergency declaration to fund border security measures at the U.S-Mexico border. This comes on the heels of a legislative compromise to avoid a government shutdown.
The move is expected to face a swift and forceful legal challenge that could stall the attempt in the courts for the near future. But the declaration and other money-moving plans allow Trump to continue to fight for border wall construction while also averting another partial government shutdown — which would have been triggered at midnight absent the new funding package. [Transcript] Rose Garden – 10:39 A.M. EST – THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much, everybody. Before we begin, I’d like to just say that we have a large team of very talented people in China. We’ve had a negotiation going on for about two days. It’s going extremely well. Who knows what that means, because it only matters if we get it done. But we’re very much working very closely with China and President Xi, who I respect a lot. Very good relationship that we have. And we’re a lot closer than we ever were in this country with having a real trade deal.
