…I can’t finish the headline because I can’t figure out the PC rules that apply.
If it’s ok for President Obama to say it, then why isn’t it ok for CBS (or anyone else) to transcribe it ?

There is a subtle, or not (if you follow closely), narrative being constructed by West Wing script writers. The purpose is to use the Charleston shooting emotion as a race-based protective membrane, shielding President Obama from his visible policy failures.
[Example 1: Highlighting Joe Wilson as the congressman from the district that encompasses Charleston. Example 2: Highlighting people call POTUS an “idiot”.]
(Via Washington Examiner) – He has 18 months left to fulfill his “Yes we can” agenda, but President Obama is frustratingly finding that his supporters have already forgotten what he’s done and even think he’s an “idiot” for not making good on his promise to fix Washington.
In a candid fundraising speech at actor Tyler Perry’s Santa Monica, Calif., home Thursday night, the president expressed his own frustration at not scoring more wins in his two terms, but also aired distress at how quickly some of have forgotten his achievements.
“I got a letter a while back from a gentleman living in Colorado, and clearly an intelligent guy, and he had taken a lot of time to write this letter. And he said, you know, I voted for you twice, but I’m feeling disillusioned,’” Obama said. (more…)
President Obama is using the 2009 Executive Order Task Force to qualify detainees held at GITMO for release. This week six more will be transferred to Oman, four of whom are Osama Bin Laden’s Ghuraba’a Members – ‘strangers from the Afghanistan Mountains’.
In addition to the XO Task Force the White House seeks to protect the president from consequence by using Obama’s cabinet for review approvals. Six federal departments or agencies also approved the releases: The departments of Defense, State, Justice and Homeland Security; the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
WASHINGTON DC – […] The six new transfers are Emad Abdullah Hassan, who has been on hunger strikes since 2007 in protest of his confinement without charge since 2002. ccording to court documents, Hassan said detainees have been force-fed up to a gallon at a time of nutrients and water.
He is accused of being one of many bodyguards for bin Laden, who led the Al Qaeda terror group until killed by U.S. forces in 2011. Hassan also was allegedly part of a group planning to attack NATO and American troops against the 2001 invasion of Afghanistan.
The five other detainees sent to Oman were identified by the Pentagon as: (more…)
WASHINGTON DC – The Obama administration is expected to announce an agreement with Cuba in early July to reopen embassies and restore diplomatic relations severed more than five decades ago, U.S. sources familiar with the matter said on Friday.
The two sides hope to conclude the deal by the first week of next month, clearing the way for Secretary of State John Kerry to visit Havana soon afterwards for a flag-raising ceremony to upgrade the U.S. Interests Section to a full-scale embassy, the sources said. (more…)
TAA or “Trade Adjustment Assistance” was a legislative package attached to the “fast track” portion of legislation for President Obama’s Trans-Pacific Trade Agreement Authority.
In essence, TAA was a provision to provide financial assistance for any displaced U.S. workers who were negatively affected by any trade agreement. TAA was attached to the Senate’s bill for “fast track trade authority” which lowers the threshold for Senatorial Consent on any Obama trade deal. TAA was basically attached to, packaged with, TPA to get more support the fast track measure.
However, TAA failed to pass (126-yea, 302-nay):
WASHINGTON […] Only 40 Democrats backed TAA while 144 voted against it. On the GOP side, 158 Republicans voted “no” while 86 Republicans voted “yes.”
The vote against TAA is a humiliating defeat for Obama, who had spent weeks lobbying House Democrats to support his trade agenda in the face of overwhelming opposition from liberal groups and organized labor.
The key part of this vote is to remove the possibility for trade defeats in the Senate. If Fast Track authority is passed/granted then a simple majority of 51 votes will be all that is required to approve President Obama’s trade deal.
Mitch McConnell has essentially granted President Obama new powers not enumerated in the constitution. John Boehner is about to do the same thing in the House of Representatives. Paul Ryan has cemented his cross-over to the dark side of Chamber of Commerce Republicans led by CoC head Tom Donohue…..
(Via Washington Examiner) The House will vote Friday on legislation to give President Obama “fast track” authority to secure trade deals.
Republican leaders announced plans for the vote in a closed-door meeting with their rank and file, who are divided over whether to support the legislation.
The vote is likely to be close. With just two days until the vote, GOP leaders continue to negotiate with members to win their approval for the bill. (more…)
It’s no secret the Obama administration is ideologically favorable toward the Muslim Brotherhood. Conversely, it’s also an open secret that President Obama does not like Egypt’s secular leader Fattah el Sisi or the principles represented by Sisi’s framework of governance for all Egyptians.
However, the U.S. administration conducting secret meetings with a terrorist enemy of the Egyptian state, the Muslim Brotherhood, is going too far. El Sisi wants answers.
(Via Reuters) Egypt summoned the U.S. ambassador in Cairo to show displeasure at Muslim Brotherhood figures coming to Washington for a private conference, sources familiar with the matter said on Monday.
One source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said U.S. officials did not intend to meet the group although they had met some Brotherhood figures that came to Washington in January. (more…)
HatTip WeaselZippers who shares: President Obama was speaking with Italian PM Mario Renzi and Christine Lagarde, President of the International Monetary Fund. The Iraqi President Haider al-Abadi approached, clearly hoping to talk with Obama, sitting down right next to him. Obama continued his discussion with the others not acknowledging Abadi.
Obama and the others then stood up, and Abdadi stood as well, hoping to catch Obama’s attention, but Obama simply turned and walked away. Abdi and his translator then walk off, looking annoyed.
On August 28th 2014 President Obama said: “We still don’t have a strategy against ISIS”

Toward that end Erdogan built himself a grand and opulent palace, aligned himself with ISIS radicals, and provided a safe-harbor for exiled Muslim Brotherhood leadership after Qatar kicked them out for advocating extremist violence. Yes, even Qatar, home of the GITMO 5, realized the Brotherhood leadership were essentially ISIS sycophants. However, Erdogan viewed them as ideological brethren deserving of more than a little sympathy.
Erdogan is ‘all-in’ toward his goals of recreating a modern Ottoman Empire. Nothing was going to stand in his way; even if it meant killing journalists who were exposing his extremist plans. Erdogan even jails people who make fun of him, and shut down Twitter just because it posed a threat to his power. However, today he suffered a significant, well, actually a devastating, setback.
