(Daily Mail) Police departments across the country that have spent years boasting about plummeting crime numbers are now scrambling to confront something many agencies have not seen in decades: more bloodshed.

Houston, St. Louis, New Orleans and Baltimore have all seen significant spikes in the number of homicides this year. The totals are up in other cities, too, including New York and Chicago.

“We’re in scary territory,” said Peter Scharf, a professor at Louisiana State University who tracks homicides in New Orleans.

In Los Angeles, the number of slayings dropped slightly, but the number of shooting victims jumped more than 18 percent. And in Milwaukee, a homicide on Wednesday put the total for the year at 84 – just two fewer than happened in all of 2014. (more…)

(Via KTLA) The family of an L.A. high school football star who was killed by an undocumented immigrant expressed support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s controversial views on Mexican immigrants, standing with Trump as he spoke about the issue in Beverly Hills Friday.

Relatives of Jamiel Shaw Jr. met with Trump at an undisclosed location Friday afternoon and later attended a news conference with him.

Shaw died at age 17 in a 2008 shooting near his Arlington Heights home when gang member Pedro Espinoza mistook him for a rival gang member because of the victim’s red Spider-Man backpack. (more…)

Good grief, could this flippin’ preventable murder get any more bizarre?  First we learn Kate Steinle was randomly shot by an illegal alien.  Then we learn ICE had requested notification of his release, which the Sheriff’s Department ignored.  Then the illegal alien claimed he shot Ms. Steinle accidentally while trying to shoot a sea lion (a position he has since modified).  Now it comes out the gun he used actually belonged to a “federal agent”.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — KRON 4 has learned that the gun used to kill a 32-year-old woman on San Francisco’s Pier 14 belonged to a federal agent.

A Sig Sauer pistol was used in the fatal shooting, a source told KRON 4. The gun was recovered last Thursday in the bay by a police dive team. The source described the weapon as being an expensive, high-end, common police gun.

Another source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN’s Sara Sidner that the gun belonged to a federal agent. (more…)

President Obama’s next, most likely last, hope to implement his Executive Action on Immigration will take place this week.  MSM Silent.

Texas Judge Andrew Hanen previously blocked Obama’s 2014 unconstitutional “Executive Action on immigration” which expanded deferred deportation and granted employment status for illegal aliens.   The DOJ appealed the injunction to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.  On May 26th, 2015, the DOJ lost and Hanen’s injunction was upheld by a three judge panel within the appellate court (2-1).

The DOJ had two options after their loss in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals:

♦ They could request a summary review by the U.S. Supreme Court (the 5th CCA district review SCOTUS justice is Antonin Scalia).  Or,
♦ they could ask for the entire panel (full panel) of the 5th CCA to seat and hear full oral arguments.

Two days after their appellate loss, on May 28th, the DOJ chose the latter.  An expedited hearing was scheduled for July 10th,  THIS FRIDAY. (more…)

Concerned the recent killing in San Francisco will expose the Obama Executive Action’s halting deportation to increased scrutiny, the White House says today it’s the fault of congress.

WASHINGTON DC – The White House on Monday defended its immigration policies and blasted Republicans following the killing of a San Francisco woman — allegedly by an undocumented immigrant.

When asked if the case was a failure of the administration’s enforcement policies, White House press secretary Josh Earnest chided Republicans for blocking a bipartisan immigration bill that would have boosted funding for border security.

“I recognize that people want to play politics with this,” Earnest said. “The fact is the president has done everything within his power to make sure that we’re focusing our law enforcement resources on criminals and those who pose a threat to public safety.” (more…)

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) —The man fatally shot by a former CNN reporter at an Albuquerque motel had fled parole in Tennessee, police said.

Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Tanner Tixier (tih-SHAY) said late Thursday that Tomorio Walton had absconded from parole out of Memphis and it wasn’t clear how long he had been in New Mexico.

Chuck de Caro and his wife, Lynne Russell, were in their room when Walton, 27, allegedly tried to rob them, authorities said. (more…)

ALABAMA – A huge change may be on the way to Linn Park. Birmingham’s Parks and Recreation Board voted to remove a monument honoring confederate soldiers and sailors.

Pelham’s original Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy no longer exists. Its gift to the city of Birmingham does. The chapter put a monument celebrating confederate soldiers and sailors in Linn Park in 1905.

“There is nothing offensive about these soldiers standing up for their rights. Just like those who fought for the civil rights. They fought for their rights. There is no flag on it to be offensive. It’s just a monument to war veterans,” said Birmingham Resident Ronald Hagood.

Hagood wants the monument to stay at Linn Park. He’s taking pictures to remember its rightful place.

Sarah Jackson never paid attention to the monument in her 67 years of living in Birmingham.  She’s taking the time now to look and finds it offensive. (more…)
