Personally, I believe Turkish President Recep Erdogan knew exactly what would happen when he gave all the NATO leaders a “Magnum” .357 handgun at the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey. What happened next is exactly the reason he did it.
President Trump brings Erdogan’s gift back to the White House, with a casual ‘cool gun’ nonchalant approach. Meanwhile, back in Europe, the apoplectic recipients, administrators’, various office bureaucracies and support staff that surround each NATO politician are physically and mentally stuck, not knowing what to do.
I have read many of the media reports, and they are incredibly funny -and sad- but mostly funny {SEE HERE}.
The general response is that President Erdogan has just handed the NATO leaders something akin to an unstable, portable nuclear device. Most of the European’s won’t even touch the custom case that accompanies the handgun, let alone actually touch the alarmingly scary pistol itself.
THE MESSAGE – AGAINST THE BACKDROP: How is NATO going to “defend itself” if they cannot even receive, handle or carry a firearm? A poignant and not-s0-subtle message that is more than a little funny; in a typically Turkish manner of irony.
The main NATO request in Turkey was for U.S. patriot missiles. {CITATION} Ursula von der Leyen, the European Union commission president, thanked Erdogan for the gift, which will be decommissioned and donated to a military museum, her spokesperson said. […] “It struck me that my gift of maple syrup kind of undermatched,” Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters, adding that the firearm was now in police possession. “I would like to reassure Canadians, they keep guns away from me.” {CITATION}
Sometimes life makes you feel like you are sitting alone, looking at the geopolitical world – and no one can see the absurdity of it all. We need advanced weapons to protect ourselves against the horrible Russians, NATO proclaimed.
Meanwhile, “The Belgian prime minister, Bart De Wever, only “learned of the exact nature of the gift” after landing in Belgium. “The prime minister was surprised and immediately handed it over to airport police so it could be placed in a secure safe and the matter was handled in accordance with relevant procedures,” an official said on Thursday.”
Several revolvers, including those belonging to Starmer, the German chancellor, Friedrich Merz, and the Dutch prime minister, Rob Jetten, have for now remained in the Turkish capital. Depending on the laws in force, transporting firearms is often far from straightforward, especially when they are fully functional. {source}
The Magnum styled .357 revolvers came with six bullets. “Beyond the logistical challenge, the gift also puzzled several delegations attending the summit.” … “The question asked over and over again: why such a gift?” … “The Turkish presidency did not immediately respond.”
Von der Leyen “expressed her thanks” to Erdoğan for the gift, her spokesperson said, adding that it would be decommissioned and donated to a military museum.
These same NATO leaders are asking President Trump for advanced Patriot Missiles.
Perhaps I’m the only one who can see the point Erdogan is making.
European NATO leaders dislike Recep Erdogan immensely.
For many years I have outlined Erdogan’s duplicity; quite simply – I am not a fan, yet you cannot deny the respect he has created against his adversaries within his position as the world’s most powerful gatekeeper for the future of Europe.
Europe says Erdogan cannot be trusted with American F-35 technology.
Europe asks President Trump for advanced patriot missiles.
Erdogan gives European leaders handguns.
European leaders and every layer of their bureaucratic staff are frozen.
Well played.

Erdogan is a snake with Ottoman Empire ambitions. UK and EU leaders are chickenshit, but more than willing to have their proxies use force against the indigenous populations of their countries. Take your choice. It isn’t pretty.
A number of posters on this article were apparently” triggered”.
lol
Good! That adds to the humor!
lol! @“triggered”. I hope there’s a range at the White House!!
Wordman worthy 👍🏻
I thought for a moment “wordman” was here.
Way too many people are desperately searching for reasons to get triggered.
Can we possibly, just for a moment, hit “pause” on the stuff that makes us mad?
Can we take just a moment to eat some popcorn and enjoy the comedy gold from Erdogan? This is hilarious.
Heck-I’m even ready to say that I agree with Mrs. Sunshine when she says that, although Erdogan is a thug, he’s also a “bad ass gift giver.”
Let’s laugh today. There will be plenty of opportunities to cry and get mad in the future.
Keep hammering that info.
I saw what you did there 😂
Don’t want to go off half-cocked…
The ultimate troll?
Nah, that would be President Trump, but you *KNOW* he’s gotta be laughing at the response of all the other “leaders”.
He likely does not care for Erdogan, but you gotta recognize when someone else recognizes WEAKNESS like that on the world stage.
I don’t know about troll but I know Erdogan is the most bad-ass gift giver I know.
My take….shared it with others…they agree and are still laughing!🤣
Was he hoping EU “ leaders “ would play Russian Roulette?
It looks like a modern version of the Nagant M1895 which
was one of the symbols of….Russian Roulette!
And since the EU leaders are so hung up on destroying Russia…
a subtle reminder to them all. …Russian Roulette was/is a deadly game.🪦
As soon as I saw the picture of the Revolver he gifted them… 💡💡😳
yikes! And then I chuckled 🤭 sneaky Erdogan. He is a snake…sneaky snake.🐍
I would wager that none of the Europeans immediately had a clue. Most probably still don’t.
Picture of modern version…check out the grip on it!

President Trump would have given them AR15s
They would have all peed their pants.
🤣🤣🤣 with a MAGA hat full of invoices of what they owe for our protecting them.
It is my understanding that President Trump likes Erdogan.
I think it’s more like President Trump respects Erdogan. Same with Putin and Xi. Conversely, I suspect President Trump has had his fill of the doublespeak and feckless actions of our traditional allies.
Exactly
What pathetic sissies. Good grief.
EUnuchs should use the gifts to put themselves out of their own misery. Personally own a Turkish AR12. What an outstanding piece of hardware.
I am warming up to Erdogan. I had the good fortune to visit Ephesus last year. I would like to revisit Turkey again. Western Europe, not so much.
He’s a thug.
Yes, he is, but the gift and people’s reactions to it tell a story about human nature and survival–who survives, who doesn’t.
and a decepticon
Erdogan is NOT a good guy. Nothing to “warm up” to.
For work U visited Turkey several times late 80s to late 90s. Loved it.
But Erdogan has destroyed the secular ideals that Ataturk had established in his pursuit of Islamic dominance. He’s a cancer. He is ruining Turkey.
Make Istanbul Constantinople Again.
Liberate the Hagia Sophia!
Wish I could see this in my lifetime.
A Turkish version of the Colt Python? They have some great gun companies over there including “Tisas”. The companies are very pro USA…. as they should be since we buy a lot from them.
Yep, it’s a Turkish version of the Colt Python.
And they are pretty good at the manufacturing… looks to be a high quality knock-off.
Some of the Canik pistols are nice. The triggers are very crisp.
This is probably the closest any of them has ever been to a handgun.
Now THAT’S funny.
I ‘ll have to put a few extra rounds through mine for them at the range tomorrow.
Honestly, a man or woman who has not shot a firearm or exercised some form of near lethal self defense is not qualified to make decisions regarding the defense of his/her Nation. I certainly wouldn’t want that kind of ignorance “protecting” me.
They should immediately turn them in to the gov.
That’s exactly what they did!
Unless they accidentally bump into one of their armed bodyguards.
E-Urchins are spoiling to send thousands of soldiers to certain death in Ukraine, yet they turn 3 shades of pale and jump on the table screaming “mouse!” when they get within sight of a pistol.
Useless weenie-wimps.
Yep, a 6 shot revolver. They probably think it is an extra scary ‘fully automatic assault weapon’. Pretty gun, The photo of the President with his made me want one.
Agreed, they are beauties.
Reminder on trigger discipline, Mr. President!
Yes, I noticed that too.
Slight correction to send thousands of American soldiers to certain death in Ukraine
The gifts that keep on giving . . .
History on the Tradition of the Ottomans Gifting Weapons
The practice of gifting weapons was a key component of Ottoman diplomacy, used to solidify relationships with vassal states and allies.
These gifts were not merely functional arms but highly decorated symbols of the Sultan’s favor and authority.
For instance, historical records note that a 17th-century Prince of Transylvania (a vassal state) requested ornamented arms from Istanbul, and such items were often among the most prestigious gifts presented to foreign rulers.
The Topkapi Palace Armory houses numerous examples of these ceremonial weapons, which were crafted with gold, silver, and precious stones to demonstrate the empire’s wealth and artistic mastery.
Symbolism of Authority Gifting a weapon to a vassal served a dual purpose: it was a gesture of goodwill and a subtle reminder of the vassal’s subordinate status.
By accepting a sword from the Sultan, a vassal ruler acknowledged the Sultan’s supremacy and their own role as a protector of the empire’s interests.
These weapons often featured inscriptions of Quranic verses or the Sultan’s tughra (calligraphic signature), imbuing them with spiritual and political significance.
Unlike weapons captured from enemies, which were spoils of war, these gifted arms were intended to foster loyalty and mutual respect within the imperial hierarchy.

Samuel Colt was also known for gifting firearms.
In the 1850s Colt presented a custom-engraved, gold-inlaid revolver during a visit to Constantinople to Sultan Abdülmecid I of the Ottoman Empire and famously told the Sultan that the Russians were already buying his pistols, prompting an immediate order for 5,000 units.
In late 1854, Colt gifted three gold-inlaid revolvers (including a Third Model Dragoon) featuring patriotic American motifs to Tsar Nicholas I of Russia and used the same “fear of missing out” tactic, likely implying the Ottomans were buying, to secure Russian contracts during the Crimean War.
During the American Civil War, Colt distributed approximately 60 revolvers in elaborate presentation cases to roughly 15 influential Union officials to ensure loyalty and contracts.

First EU leader to open a Beer with the Magnum is the one who doesn’t get voted out by his/her citizens and gets an invitation to stay in NATO.
I doubt Europeans, writ large, deserve such pretentious twits as leaders, though the possibility exists.
Great idea for one of those blathering buffoons to make a re-election commercial doing just that SteveW. 👏
Any patriot systems would instantly go to Ukraine along with the American team to operate them.
They should have instantly been told to F off No missiles for you
Of Erdogan’s three children, the two younger went to USA universities:

They ache for WW III… yet cannot handle the moral implications of owning a gun.
“What is wrong with these people?”
….and Clint in his best….
man, he was a lanky sumbich
looks like a Ford Galaxy upended there
Go ahead, make my day………
I love Clint; he made the best flicks. You made my day…bill
Do you feel lucky? Well do you punk…
I gottsa know…
Starmer wants to head up NATO and the girl in his skirt can’t even figure out what to do with a handgun as the LEADER OF HIS COUNTRY.
Unbelievable.
Perfect gift for the eurowienies!
😂 🤣 😂 🤣
These losers are not leaders, they are bunch of pathetic morons who should go to front of there precious war in Ukraine and stay. Let these assholes fight there own battles, I don’t want anything to do with these European punks.
Hilarious. Like giving sandpaper to a monkey. “This is not toilet paper.”
I own the blue version of this same pistol and can attest to the severity of its kick. The cylinder only allows for six cartridges hence the gifts supplied with that many. If you fire this pistol single handedly, expect an injury…
This was the PERFECT parting gift for the summit.
Perhaps a .454 Casull and an obligatory trip to a range would have been a better way to go?
The hand cannon…bill
EU not a good look: Pretty bad when a country’s leaders are afraid to use / hold even a firearm. These leaders are supposed to be considered the people capable of defending their citizens. They are ok with sending others, their young out to learn and use a weapon.
I believe every person in US congress should show or have once shown they can use / are not afraid to use a firearm.
Anyone can do a photo op where they shot a few rounds down range at a target. Can do one better.
They also need to be able to field strip the weapon, resemble it and then perform a functions check.
Anyone can do a photo op where they shot a few rounds down range at a target.
Yep –
Similar to Walz “pheasant hunting or working on his car’ and Talarico in a pickup eating barbeque…
Going for the man vote from their wussified Democrat party…
All phonies…
Not sad at all, beyond funny it is total hilarity.
Can you imagine the look on their faces when they saw a GUN. These people are not survivors and not even cannon fodder, they are sacrifices to globalist god of woke blindness. Their first thought may have been Erdogan wants us to shoot ourselves.
I believe President Trump will one day have it displayed of a shelf and still functional or his kids will take out and shoot some targets. We are Americans and not afraid of firearms.
No. 1 those are collector weapons and those particular guns are now worth a lot of money.
EFFING HILARIOUS!
Europe and progs and libs need to look up the word “dysgenic.” Look at it from an evolutionary standpoint, you idiots.
How do you ‘decommission’ a handgun? Is it like a naval ship, with a formal ceremony?
Anti-gun bureaucrats that have a procedure for everything.
And they also want the USA to provide them with missiles with which to point at Russia.
They are a bunch of milquetoast figureheads that have people that do everything for them where they can’t be bothered to get their own hands dirty.
Freaking EUnuchs.
Remove firing pin.
Especially when it’s a simply 6 shot revolver.
Decommissioning shall be performed by jamming tampons down the barrel and calling it a racist. Ursula von Twatwaffle will hold a press conference to announce the EU has single handedly saved the world. A crisis intervention team will be assembled to help those who may have experienced emotional distress.
😆😆
I think they just remove the trigger. 😂😂😂
Was that Dirty Harry or Magnum P.I. weapon of choice?
Dirty Harry (Clint Eastwood) carried the .44 Magnum.
Thomas Magnum (Tom Selleck) primarily carried a Colt MKIV/Series 70 Government Model, among other backup guns.
In Magum Force 1973, David Soul & the rest of the crew used the Colt python .357 magnum.
I love it! I can see Trump smiling like a fox!
Were they loaded or bullets not included since NATO shooting blanks!!
Unloaded; 6 bullets included:
Really nice…”manly” gift…
It occurs to me that all of America’s Founding Fathers were gun owners. They were from Great Britain, by the way.
Many of them also owned cannons, as it was legal in those days for private citizens to own cannons.
Can you imagine the horror if Erdogan had given each of those NATO eunuchs a cannon as a gift?
President Trump would have loved it. He might have parked it on the South Lawn so that everyone could “enjoy” seeing it at public events.
Seeing all of those NATO wussies wet themselves over an ordinary gun is pathetic. Obviously, we have the same kind of wussies populating our government as well.
I pray that God would raise up leaders in the United States made of sterner stuff.
I may or may not have known a guy who fires his cannon every Sunday at noon.
I can neither confirm nor deny the rumor. 😂
💥
My first thought when I saw the revolver was……
Russian Roulette!
Modern version of the Nagant M1895 which was
one of the symbols of …Russian Roulette?
🪦 🫣 🪦 🫣
I chuckled about it for quite a few minutes….🤣🤣
The symbology was not lost on me!
Heck….maybe he was even thinking they would get together
and play a game?

A .357 one must file off the front site if in bear country. I grew up in Alaska another non pretending great state with terrible leaders. The outdoors will kill you if unprepared.
With all due respect, President Trump is handling the firearm incorrectly.
Nice gift.
I can only imagine the laughter and glee when the idea of this gift was conceived and implemented. I’m guessing the recipients would have preferred a gift of cloths meant for their opposite gender, appropriately sized of course. Trump should show up with his in a fancy custom holster at his next news conference.
The Political Geometry of our World has changed.
Communists are irritated. Good.
Keep your finger off the trigger Dear POTUS unless you are about to squeeze it!
THIS is my RIFLE, THIS is my GUN, THIS is for SHOOTING, THIS is for FUN!
BEST PRESIDENT EVER!!!! We live in singularly amazing times. Let’s pray the Iran and Ukraine messes get sorted sooner than later! 🙂
Harry Callahan gift!
Reminds me more of a Paul Kersey gift.
Yes, remember he got one from the guy when he went to Tucson………
Ok, I’m sort of joking around with you guys. ok.
I think it would be cool, if President Trump called Clint Eastwood and other Action Hero’s and asked them to go to the gun range with him, to practice shooting the mag 357 handgun, maybe have seal guys and rangers also come and have fun, … and take photo’s of event.
Or meme’s of baby Trump shooting with baby clint Eastwood and getting pointers from some Action Film Stars.
Or Trump walking down a western town, … next to clint Eastwood, … against iran leaders, or other “bad” guys. Showdown at high noon.
And then another meme of EU leaders freaking out, and shooting themselves, or others around them, or staff, by accident. It would have to be funny gag type stuff.
I know you guys were also probably having fun with Sundance’s thread. Cool Thread.
Have Keanu Reeves give him some lessons at the range. Reeves trained with Taran Butler for the John Wick movies. Reeves has also had a conceal-carry permit since at least the Matrix trilogy.
I don’t expect EU leaders to know the intricacies of building a weapon. My first thought of the revolver gifts is- you let so many damn people into your country you better arm up. Same for the U S.
It is pretty funny how the EU leaders act like scared mice over it. These people are used to hiring security.
If they had any sense of humor at all, the next time they visit Erdogan they would all bring him a ham.
An extremely rude gesture only a wanker would do.

Perfect gift. They can play circular Russian roulette with these guns as Erodagan intended. Sorta what NATO and EU nations are doing with their economies and Ukraine. President Trump will put his in his presidential library as a statement on the 2nd amendment while laughing at these world idiots who all belong in an asylum.
“Alongside the gun sitting in a red box lined in black were six live rounds and a note exempting the weapons from export controls.”
Live rounds, mind you!! They could go off at any moment.
Trump should get in on the gig. Perhaps a box of weinies next time we host a NATO summit.
Don’t mean to nitpick, but I’m going to anyway. The correct terminology is not “Magnum .357”, it’s “.357 Magnum”.
Also, they are not “Pistols” the are “Revolvers”. A Pistol is something like a Glock semi-automatic. I can’t tell for sure from the pictures what brand they are, but it looks like a Smith and Wesson or a Dan Wesson (very nice wood grips). They could be a Turkish brand. One more thing, Magnum is not a style, It’s part of the caliber designation. They will also shoot 38 Special.
I hadn’t heard that distinction about pistol and revolver so I looked it up and you are correct sir. Thanks for that. And the rest of your comments are spot on.
I too see the S&W similarity.
EUnuchs.
Those poor citizens are completely doomed.
And too many know it.
Pray for them.
Erdogan should have only given them one bullet with instructions to keep in their shirt pocket. What a bunch of Barneys.
Hot leads a’ flyin’!
Robin Hood was not an anomaly in Britain in the Middle Ages because it was mandatory for all men to practice archery and become proficient at it! That was their insurance against invading Vikings, their Norman descendants and of course the Moors from North Africa who’d already conquered Spain!
Great Britain is cut from a different cloth these days. These European milksops spent decades cooking their young men in a witch’s brew of fear and hatred of toxic masculinity and a deep terror of any sort of firearm, and now expect them to be tough and battle-hardened soldiers ready to fight and kill for their country!
Ursula von der Leyen, the decommissioning EU Commissioner never even touched her gun, (presumably for fear of contracting warts from the bullets), then had her underlings “decommission” and donate the vile thing to a military museum…a military museum? Are they even allowed in Europe?
Mark Carney, after stilling his racing pulse, had his gun turned over to the police, then tried to quell any panic among his Snow Mexican countrymen by saying,
“I would like to reassure Canadians, they keep guns away from me.”
Oh, yes, that kind of talk’s sure to strike fear into the hearts of the Chinese and Russians circling their warships around Greenland and Baffin Island!
Used to be in the day that English longbowmen captured by the French would have the ring finger of their dominant hand cut off specifically so they could no longer draw their bows.
Interesting!
Historians point back further to Greeks who “flipped people off” although legend talks of the English at Agincourt.
The post says 6 bullets.
The picture with Trump looks like 7 bullets.
Did he get an extra one?
2 scoops president!
Not dissecting Erdogan. I’m delighted with his gesture. It wasn’t unusual some years ago for special firearms to be exchanged or given as gifts at a high level, personally or to commenorate. The EU’s apoplexy must seem like an earthquake. LMFAO.
Somewhere there is a stupid democrat trying to figure out if President Trump has immunity for having a firearm as an official action.
Guns are bad except when they’re in the hands of CIA sponsored terrorists.
/s
Perhaps they are a suggestion……….
The Shah of Iran used to give out chrome-plated Colt revolvers as gifts to close friends. I have seen a pair of them. Now Tayyip Erdogan is presuming to do likewise with .357 Magnum handguns for NATO members, who attended his recent soirée. Why? Because he wants to sell Turkish-made firearms to other NATO countries. The leaders receiving them are not his close friends.
