Personally, I believe Turkish President Recep Erdogan knew exactly what would happen when he gave all the NATO leaders a “Magnum” .357 handgun at the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey. What happened next is exactly the reason he did it.
President Trump brings Erdogan’s gift back to the White House, with a casual ‘cool gun’ nonchalant approach. Meanwhile, back in Europe, the apoplectic recipients, administrators’, various office bureaucracies and support staff that surround each NATO politician are physically and mentally stuck, not knowing what to do.
I have read many of the media reports, and they are incredibly funny -and sad- but mostly funny {SEE HERE}.
The general response is that President Erdogan has just handed the NATO leaders something akin to an unstable, portable nuclear device. Most of the European’s won’t even touch the custom case that accompanies the handgun, let alone actually touch the alarmingly scary pistol itself.
THE MESSAGE – AGAINST THE BACKDROP: How is NATO going to “defend itself” if they cannot even receive, handle or carry a firearm? A poignant and not-s0-subtle message that is more than a little funny; in a typically Turkish manner of irony.
The main NATO request in Turkey was for U.S. patriot missiles. {CITATION} Ursula von der Leyen, the European Union commission president, thanked Erdogan for the gift, which will be decommissioned and donated to a military museum, her spokesperson said. […] “It struck me that my gift of maple syrup kind of undermatched,” Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters, adding that the firearm was now in police possession. “I would like to reassure Canadians, they keep guns away from me.” {CITATION}
Sometimes life makes you feel like you are sitting alone, looking at the geopolitical world – and no one can see the absurdity of it all. We need advanced weapons to protect ourselves against the horrible Russians, NATO proclaimed.
Meanwhile, “The Belgian prime minister, Bart De Wever, only “learned of the exact nature of the gift” after landing in Belgium. “The prime minister was surprised and immediately handed it over to airport police so it could be placed in a secure safe and the matter was handled in accordance with relevant procedures,” an official said on Thursday.”
Several revolvers, including those belonging to Starmer, the German chancellor, Friedrich Merz, and the Dutch prime minister, Rob Jetten, have for now remained in the Turkish capital. Depending on the laws in force, transporting firearms is often far from straightforward, especially when they are fully functional. {source}
The Magnum styled .357 revolvers came with six bullets. “Beyond the logistical challenge, the gift also puzzled several delegations attending the summit.” … “The question asked over and over again: why such a gift?” … “The Turkish presidency did not immediately respond.”
Von der Leyen “expressed her thanks” to Erdoğan for the gift, her spokesperson said, adding that it would be decommissioned and donated to a military museum.
These same NATO leaders are asking President Trump for advanced Patriot Missiles.
Perhaps I’m the only one who can see the point Erdogan is making.
European NATO leaders dislike Recep Erdogan immensely.
For many years I have outlined Erdogan’s duplicity; quite simply – I am not a fan, yet you cannot deny the respect he has created against his adversaries within his position as the world’s most powerful gatekeeper for the future of Europe.
Europe says Erdogan cannot be trusted with American F-35 technology.
Europe asks President Trump for advanced patriot missiles.
Erdogan gives European leaders handguns.
European leaders and every layer of their bureaucratic staff are frozen.
Well played.

.357 Magnum pistols for political leaders in Europe awful👈
Beautiful gun.
Amazing it does not shoot unless the trigger is pulled.
Would love to have one.
Being one of the last good guys, I’d be happy to add that gun to my collection. Put it next to my CZ 75 Sp01 tactical.
Oddly, none of them seem to shoot unless the trigger is pulled. But from the Euro-politician’s reactions, you’d think that they jump off the table and start mowing people down, even before you put the cartridges in.
It’s like those trucks that mow down people on certain Muslim holidays.
The machines just start murdering people all by themselves.
You mean certain Christian holidays? Or,are the Muslim holidays just a practice run.
big grin, picturing that 🙂 🙂
I wonder if Putin suggested the gift idea to Erdogan
What the F do I know? Absolutely nothing!!! I am just a cynic but I don’t say the following with malice….. Perhaps, Erdogan may have looked at the European opinion polls and subtly heh heh provided the bankrupt, incompetent, and rudderless European leaders with the gentleman’s way out of the idiotic dilemma they have placed NATO and Europe in eh?.
GROK:
All three leaders currently have very low popularity ratings as of mid-2026, reflecting a broader anti-incumbency trend in Europe.
Friedrich Merz (German Chancellor, CDU)
Keir Starmer (UK Prime Minister, Labour)
Emmanuel Macron (French President)
If so,… best hold it firmly with Both hands and arms outstretched if you fire this powerful weapon.
FBI says the magnum .357 bullet can penetrate and stop the gas engine of a car and some big game hunters claim they carry it as a side arm back up if their 440 Win magnum rifle fails when confronting a charging big game prey.
They claim it can even stop a charging elephant, but I wouldn’t want to try and find out.
Per the New Orleans PD,… some Thug that used it in a C-Store hold up attempt knocked himself out by firing the weapon and being hit in their hard-headed forehead by its kickback, cuz they didn’t know how big it kicks or how to hold the gun when firing it.
Yes, the perp was arrested by NOPD after being knocked out at the scene by his own action.
The NOPD officer that told me this advised that I buy instead a Ruger Magnum .41 revolver as it doesn’t kick nearly as bad as the M .357 or M .45 hand cannon, but is just as powerful. I took his advice, bought the pistol and never had a bad experience when firing it at the range. You can hold it with one hand and control it when it’s fired.
.458 Win Mag vice .440 which doesn’t exist? Typo?
There is a .44-40 cartridge but it’s not a magnum.
No pistol is recommended for African dangerous game and a .357 will not stop a charging elephant…..bank on it.
An old .30-30 has more raw ballistic power than a .357 or .41 mag.
Recoil is a function of cartridge versus the weight of the weapon. The pistol pictured would be easily managed recoil wise.
Monti,
While it’s not Africa, there are many handguns of equal, or larger caliber, that are a common sidearm in bear country (Alaska). Of course, a large caliber rifle is the preferred platform, as long as you have the time to deploy said weapon>
Best,
skipper
Of course you are right Skip.
I kept a 12 gauge with slugs around camp the times I have been in Alaska .
People carry pistols in bear country because any gun in hand is ever so much better than none.
Yep … A 357 magnum can be hard on the hand/wrist after a while. But definitely manageable.
Not the Chiappa Rhino. dream to shoot but ugly as sin!
Thanks, aged related vision issue causes my typos, got a eye shot yesterday. Don’t use guns much anymore, just a shotgun now for home protection.
My brothers are Big hunters with beaucoup rifles/pistols and lots of ammo,…. unless their Maco boat sunk with them all, right? /s
My NOLA African big game hunter friend carries the Win Mag.
My friend in Houston in the early ’90s hunted in Botswana and carried the .41 mag revolver side arm on his hip, “just in case”, as he told me. He took down a big water buffalo and a big kudu,… had’em both mounted on the den wall,.. he saw them close in a river, but he never faced a charging elephant.
He spent $ 2,500 on photography of his trip alone and the taxidermy was tres expensive, as well. Said the Thompson’s Gazelle and Springbok were delicious at camp.
He told me his guide showed him in the morning the footprints of a big cat (leopard?) that had circled his sleeping bag on the ground when he was asleep. Better him than me.
I grew up hunting deer in MS with dad’s bolt action .30-30 rifle, a very deadly and accurate weapon with long range,… the early 1900’s model.
IIRC, my Ruger .41 mag revolver fired a 200 grain Peters(?) mag cartridge (1971). I bought it for my wife’s home protection in NOLA after she was mugged in front of our house by 10 year old Thugs. I used it on hooked sharks boat-side, mainly. If you don’t hit their brain, they go wild. My pistol had little recoil.
Sounds like good shark medicine DaPicayune.
Be hard to fine more nonsense in one post. Thinking you’ve never fired a .357.
I have, the short barrel version. Have owned and used the Ruger .41 Mag since 1971. The NOPD claim is real.
I imagine the thug held the gun sideways, like in a ridiculous tv show, and that is how it recoiled back and hit him in the head.
Car engine? maybe a small car aluminum block engine.
Its a .357 M not a .44 M.
Charging Buffalo, rhino, other Big 5 game In Africa? No, need a .44M a .454Casull etc.
.440 Mag? You mean 450 Win Mag? Backup for that is the professional guide beside you with his .470 Rigby Double Rifle.
.357 is the No. 1 Manstopper round in US policing, even higher ranked than .44Mag or .45 ACP.
It is the right balance of velocity, bullet weight and bullet performance inside the target that just gets the job done.
Mr. President, remember please, when being photographed with this peice, even when checked and unloaded, the final safety is No Finger on the Trigger.
Elvis Presley brought a World War II-era Colt .45 pistol as a gift for President Nixon …which was temporarily confiscated by the Secret Service. Elvis is in the house…. lol
Dear Mr. President.
First, I would like to introduce myself. I am Elvis Presley and admire you and have great respect for your office. I talked to Vice President Agnew in Palm Springs three weeks ago and expressed my concern for our country. The drug culture, the hippie elements, the SDS, Black Panthers, etc. do not consider me as their enemy or as they call it the establishment.
…… I call it America and I love it. Sir, I can and will be of any service that I can to help the country out. I have no concern or motives other than helping the country out. …
I have done an in-depth study of drug abuse and Communist brainwashing. …
Respectfully,
Elvis Presley
P. S. I believe that you, Sir, were one of the Top Ten Outstanding Men of America also.
I have a personal gift for you which I would like to present to you and you can accept it or I will keep it for you until you can take it.”
[Copied from a site that claimed it was the National Archives, and this is the letter given by Elvis Presley to President Nixon, when Elvis arrived at the White House with the .45acp pistol.]
****************************************
“Yet, as we approach this magnificent anniversary, we see our American identity under a renewed attack. A generation after we fought and won the Cold War against the menace of communism, there is now a resurgence of the communist menace in our land, including from newcomers to our country who embrace ideas totally opposed to our way of life and our great success.
These are not mere political disagreements like differences over taxes or regulations. Communism is a mortal threat to American liberty. It is the greatest threat to our country, including World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, or even 9-11. We’re not going to let this happen to us. Believe me, we’re not letting it happen.
Because communism is the enemy of free people everywhere, everywhere in the world. Never works. It’s the enemy of the Constitution. Above all, it’s the enemy of July 4th, 1776. It is the enemy indeed.
Even while the radicals and extremists attack our incredible history at every turn, they are silent on the miserable history of communism itself because it never worked. Thousands of years, if you look at it, under different names, under somewhat different ideologies and systems, that system has led to more death and destruction than any system ever tried. It killed 100 million people just in the last century alone.
Communism is the exact opposite of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It’s death, tyranny, and the pursuit of evil. The godless communist morality states that anything is justified to bring about inhuman visions and to really propose what’s good. They don’t want good. They don’t love God, and they don’t want God. They don’t love religion and they don’t want religion and they won’t have it. But we will not let them win. They have no chance against us.
They have no respect for law, justice, principle, tradition, or your God-given rights. It’s an ideology of mass theft, mass control, mass lies, and mass murder. Such doctrines can be given no quarter in a democracy because the first thing they do when they get into power is turn around and destroy it. It always is destroyed, just as communists have done in other countries all over the world, no matter where you look.
Very simply, communism represents the worst ideas and abuses in history by the worst people. The American founding represents the best ideas and traditions in history by the best people like you.
You can be loyal to Karl Marx or you can be loyal to America. You can be a communist or you can be a patriot. You cannot be both.”
[From TheConservativeTreehouse >President Trump Freedom 250 Mount Rushmore Speech – Video and Transcript< July 4, 2026, Sundance]
EU leadership, like the Left in the US, has to pretend not to know certain things in order to maintain their world view.
It’s funny, but also incredibly dangerous because of what it signals to those of unsound heart.
Those Euro-weenies need a gun like they need a hole in the head.
i disagree; the europeans need a LOT of guns right now.
and not to fight russia.
Manufacture a couple million of something like these
FP-45 Liberator pistols.
Motivated individuals would take care of the rest and trade up as they go.
^^ Needs to be dropped by container load over Iran.
That’s what they did with these in WW2 in France to get them into the hands of the resistance.
BOGO
Some of them are crazy enough to play Russian roulette and think it a harmless game.
It looks like a beautiful and expensive weapon.
The only thing that disturbs me about the story was that the guns were loaded. That’s an ill-advised and unexpected hazard.
I reflexively check every firearm. Someone else might not think of that. “Just playing around with it” and – avoidable tragedy? Hence, an irresponsible thing to do.
If you want to include ammo as part of the gift, a small and decorative box of shiny bullets could have been within the gift box. But one would not expect a presentation weapon to actually be loaded. It should not be stored that way, hence the inner-box idea.
According to the article in the Guardian, linked in the link below the picture of the President with his cool new revolver,
“Alongside the gun sitting in a red box lined in black were six live rounds and a note exempting the weapons from export controls.”
They were not loaded.
That was not entirely clear from the early stories I had read.
Good to learn that.
A “proper” display case has a proper place for bullets.
Whew! Yea, that would have been bad.
Why? Pistols don’t fire themselves.
Yes, but just from a pure gun safety point of view, a gun shouldn’t be loaded until you’re ready to fire it. Guns don’t fire themselves, but people do stupid things like pulling a trigger instinctively when they pick up a gun, without checking whether it’s loaded or not.
lol. Just one second, intruder in my home, while I load my gun! Lol
The Magnum styled .357 revolvers came with six bullets.
Missed the “six bullet” statement. Should be “six rounds”.
Maybe he was hoping a few of those WEENIES would shoot themselves in the head.
🤣🤣🤣
Yup, they already “got shoot in the foot” down pat.
Macron was probably looking for where to attach a white French surrender flag to his. GOD forbid his wife/man found it in his luggage check when he got home.
When they get back home there would be plenty of volunteers.
The guns weren’t loaded. The ammo was displayed in the presentation box next to the weapon.
It doesn’t say the gun was loaded, just “came with ammo”, no problem keeping a gun loaded for a short time. Ammo lasts a long time in storage. I’ve seen ammo that was produced 50 yrs ago and still will fire.
The story did not indicate that the pistols were loaded, just that ammunition was part of the gift.
Guns weren’t loaded:
The Magnum .357 revolver Kicks like a mule when fired. If any of these Zeropean diplomats that are not experienced in firing a magnum Hand Cannon attempt to fire their “Defensive Gift” from Erdogan, it may well kick back and crack them very hard in their forehead.
Aside from the implied hypocritical symbolism,….. Maybe, Erdogan also wants to knock some sense into their EU noggins, and that’s why he included the six bullets???
It’s fine to include six bullets – but not in the chamber.
When loaded, I always carried my holstered Ruger Mag .41 revolver with an Empty chamber in front of the firing pin and only 5 bullets loaded in my ‘six shooter’, cuz there’s no redo when a bullet of this force leaves the barrel, intended or not.
Doesn’t your Ruger have a transfer bar. It will only fire if you pull the trigger.
There are seven (7) bullets on President Trump’s desk.
0.o
Good catch. Makes me wonder about the voracity of that pic.
DaPicayne: Kicks like a mule, not hardly especially the heavier long barrel version of which I had until that unfortunate boating accident. But I will agree in the limp wristing euroweenie hands it could in fact be more than they could handle. It would be truly humorous to see that on video.
True dat,… the long barrel version is so heavy (magnum .44) that you have to really hold it strongly just to aim it,.. but it also has a kick back.
NOPD told me the local Big Sleazy thug criminals that hurt themselves with the kickback were using the short barrel magnum .357 and didn’t know how to use the weapon.
Veracity?
They probably don’t even know about kickback or how to control it. It’s just fine for a Muslim and or African lunatic to carry and attack Europeans with vmachetes in Europe. But a hand gun no way.
Interesting! Things that make ya’ go hmmmm… 🙂
That picture also has a Google Gemini diamond watermark in the lower right corner.
I remember a story some years back of a 7 round revolver, not sure the make or caliber. Have shot a 9 round revolver many times, .22 LR.
47FuzzySweaters,
While it may not pertain to this specific handgun, there are many seven (or more) shot revolvers in existence.
Some of the Magnum sized frame (Designated N series frames) by Smith and Wesson are now fitted with 7 and even 8 shot cylinders because modern metallurgy has allowed the cylinders to contain the pressure with less steel around the cartridge. The next smaller frame size (L-Frame) comes in 6 and seven shot versions. This gun is equivalent to the S&W N frame and may well be a 7-shooter.
The Gümüşay .357 Magnum weapons that were gifted are manufactured by MKE (Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi) and are strictly 6 shot.
This model was designed in the 1990s as Turkey’s first domestically developed revolver, featuring a traditional double-action/single-action mechanism with a swing-out cylinder holding six rounds of .357 Magnum (or .38 Special) ammunition.
This particular model is now discontinued.
That’s all I’ve been able to find out.
0.o
And only one in the rest of the gifts
Big Dog gets extras every time. Big Dog even gets a plane even if he doesn’t ask for one. That’s our Big Dog for ya! 😂👏
Actually, the .44 Magnum is the gun that kicks like a mule.
The .357 Magnum is smaller with less recoil.
The .44 Magnum is “the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off.”
God bless Dirty Harry Callahan. There certainly isn’t anyone like him in the EU.
Except for Erdogan.
“You’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya, punk?”
Outstanding!
What really would have taken the cake is if President Erdogan had worn a pair of Balorama Ray-Ban sunglasses to the NATO Summit.
LOL
(Hint . . . that’s the style of sunglasses Clint Eastwood wore in the Dirty Harry movies.)
0.o
Now that is a GREAT idea for the next NATO summit!
Fun fact-Clint Eastwood is 96 years old and retired from the movie business. He spends his time painting and playing the piano.
did he already finish his latest movie ??????
He doesn’t have a “latest movie.” His last movie was “Cry Macho” in 2021.
It wasn’t very good, and it was kind of sad seeing his obviously fake horse riding scenes. But he was 91 years old at the time so I can’t criticize him for not riding a horse for real.
…Mr.Erdogan..got trouble with his eyes…..
A gun that size will absorb a lot of recoil. Now 357 mag in a 2-3″ barrel revolver will jump a bit so hang on.
A (presumably) stainless steel revolver that large is going to be rather soft shooting. It’s the small, compact self defense models, chambered in .357 Magnum, which are a handful and take copious practice to master. But, that’s assuming that you know how to hold a revolver, which the Marxist / Globalist cabal running Western Europe, likely have no clue. I doubt that they have the inclination to ever try to fire a weapon, but hopefully they will at least have an opportunity to drop one on their foot!
Not really, l carry one every day. Shooting armadillos and such.
44 mag is a handful, but S & W 500, now that one kicks like a mule!
perhaps i am the only one asking why we keep pouring fuel on the war against russia…
even now, the “over in one day” promise could be kept.
Definitely not the only one.
Do not worry Muley….Vladimirovich ..will end it soon..his “bombirovka”…make Z… uneasy..constantly changing locations…and diap…
Maybe Erdogan was hinting that “they all now have a way out”, if they have the desire.
OMG! Dude! Yes! That’s exactly what he gave them those for! Brilliant!
should have gave all of them just 1 round.hint hint
I like the way you think.
Make it a bird shot round so as not …. well you know.
It would take the Euroweenies all six rounds to finally hit their target although with the size of their projected heads
2-3 should be enough.
They might use them when they figure out how screwed they are.
Am I the only one who’s wondering about Erdogan possibly hinting something about “Russian roulette”?
The Euroweenies want American missiles but can’t even handle an American-style revolver… yet they keep fanning the flames of war with Russia?
There seem to be many possible layers of meaning here…
Or the guts.
If he had skipped President Trump, you would probably be right.
They are SLOWLY coming to the realization that Europe is now irrelevant. That of course hate the crass yankee dogs.Having to admit they are dependent on the evil Trump and crass America is more than they can stand. Get your popcorn and beverage ready.
The communist Eurosissys would have jumped for joy if those guns had a little American flag and various US army combat infantry insignia on them. Would have assumed it was a promise America would conquer and loot Russia Ukraine etc for the benefit of west Europeans .
If Erdogan had the factory put a tiny American flag US army combat insignia and US military markings the Euro sissys would have been thrilled. More American arms and men to participate in their endless wars.
Someone should have told the President how to properly hold a gun before he let a picture be taken. You don’t put your finger on the trigger, even if you believe it is unloaded, unless you intend to pull the trigger…
Hence the risk of providing an [unexpectedly …] LOADED gun, particularly to a presumed amateur. Who HASN’T been trained on “basic” things like that.
However, Trump’s finger is, indeed, not actually touching the trigger. And I’m quite sure it’s no longer loaded.
It looks to me like his finger is not directly on the trigger, but slightly to the side of it which is not the same.
^ This
I would prefer to see him with his finger on the frame, or on the trigger guard, but it clearly looks like his finger is on the side of the trigger, rather than on the loud part of the trigger.
unbelievable
Look again, his finger is not on the trigger, it’s next to it, outside the trigger guard.
Yep. Right where it should be.
Need glasses? Look again!
That picture might be AI.
Correct.
The final Safety.
He was hoping they’d shoot themselves or most of them anyway or Zelensky but I’m just guessing.
Your choice of “gatekeeper” to describe Turkey and Erdogan is very apropos considering the geography of the Bosporus and Dardanelles. As the strict enforcer of the Montreux Convention, Turkey has played a key role in limiting power projection of the Soviet Union/Russia into the Mediterranean littoral.
Well,… Augie Doggy’s Daddy,…. while Putin dreams of rebuilding the USSR empire, perhaps Erdogan has his own of recreating the Ottoman empire? Checkmate?
That was during the Cold War. Now Erdogan is the western most power of the new Muslim empire in the process of conquering Europe. Western Europe surrendered to their Muslim refugees and invaders 40,50 years ago. Assisted by Jews Barbara Spectre in Sweden and Barbara Roche in no longer great britain
Anyone with any sense would have assumed they were loaded and checked to confirm it. Gun Safety 101.
Erdogan is a sly one. These NATO leaders are a bunch of unserious leaders and he just proved it again.
Who cares about Turkey and the Euroweenies. Let me know when the UN no longer exists.
Meanwhile our Repulic is dying. Only two more years of President Trump and then we are screwed.
Trump level trolling. Kudos to Trukey.
Some have missed the Turkish manufacturing aspect of this. Turkish guns are generally good quality and better value than others.
For her 16th birthday I bought my daughter a 20ga OU shotgun made in Turkey.
It ws very well made and not that expensive.
I told the men at the counter it was a teen girls birthday gift and they said “wait here” and went in the back and selecgted one from the warehouse and told me this is the one you need to give her.
When we wnt to the anual dove hunt in the fall at my deer club, the old timers looked at it and asked where it cam form and how much it cost.
I told them and they said the Turkish Walnut in the stocks on her shotgun, if purchased as blanks to carve for a custom gun, would have been worth the price of the entire gun.
Especially in Shotguns, the Turkish manufacturers are equal to the Itallians.
I think he was hoping they would use them like Adolph in his final curtain call in 1945 Berlin. Except for Trump, where he hoped he might use it on Bibi.
President Erdogan has an insanely clever sense of humor.
Well played, indeed.
0.o
I can’t say that I understand but boy does it seem funny, they are asking for missiles but won’t touch a handgun.
Is that like people always asking for a handout but they don’t want to get their hands dirty?
We can speculate freely about why he chose it, but it’s a sophisticated and thoughtful gift. Certainly not cheap.
Did you hear about the woman who accidentally shot her husband 9 times with a 6-shooter?
I have to admit that I smiled a lot after reading about his gift yesterday. All of the same emotions our host wrote about went through my head as well.
What a masterful gift on so many levels
Might I suggest Russian-Roulette.
I love everything about that side-arm except the Muslim symbol next to the trigger.
.
But easy enough to dremel away the crescent moon and star.
If Trump had gone to a gun range the same day, how much would that revolver be worth?
Take a look at Turkey’s flag and get back to me
NATO = a coterie of buffoons; vainglorious supercilious hypocritical buffoons.
Saw the 6 bullets…if really serious… need some hollow points…
“Euro-weenies” is the appropriate term, I think.
Perhaps Recep was anticipating the Euroweenies playing with their gifts and having a spate of trip and falls.
Looks like a cool pistol!
At CBP, carried the H&K P2000 and then the Glock 19.
Our President with that .357 Magnum looks like he’s ready to say:
“Go ahead,
make my day”
Way back in the day, Ruger Security Six .357. We were still wearing loops. Speed loaders were considered too modern, but eventually allowed, grudingly.
I never shot as well with the .40 Barretta’s after the “upgrade”. I liked the ability to go double action from the 50 yard line, no longer part of the qual.
That Pistol looks like a Colt design. S&W has a different thumb release for the chamber. I carried a S&W .357 for 10 years as a trooper until we went to Beretta 9mm. Semi autos. in 1988.
Have several pistols…not a fan of the 9mm…like the 40 better…
Erdogan should have arranged for some time on the shooting range for the attendees. That would have been hilarious.
Erdogan is loved by large numbers of Turks in Germany more than they love Germany, his government controls numerous mosques in Germany, and the Turkish Grey Wolves is an ultranationalist neo-fascist group that is the largest far-right group in Germany. But the German establishment does not like to draw any attention to this, preferring instead to propagate the myth that the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD), a party with a platform largely resembling mainstream center-right politics of 20 years ago, is the most urgent threat Germany faces. But the AfD is not a threat to Germany, but only the most urgent threat to the people in power who don’t want to relinquish it; the AfD’s popularity is soaring.
I have never previously given any consideration to the Turkish sense of humor before, but I like it! While DJT is showing off his gift in the oval office, the other NATO members have called in the bomb squad to safely whisk away their gifts and render them inoperable. This is priceless!!!
To be clear, I am not a fan of Erdogan, but I would trust him with F35’s, long before I would trust Western Europe with missiles. For one, I don’t think that Erdogan wants to start a major conflict with Russia and, of course, the Europeans do. I sincerely hope that DJT slow-walks those missiles.
Sundance, I suspect Erdogan had this particular vision of EU “leaders” in his mind when he decided on his gifts.
I think the show was called “Gay Army” and had European recruits.
Firing the rifle…….it could be any of the EU leaders now.
75 hysterically funny seconds of your time.
Someone knows of a 40 year novice that closely looked through the scope of rifle, aimed, fired
and
for a couple of weeks had a black ring around one eye to explain to whomever saw him.
( i.e. did not realize the rifle had a recoil, until ‘after’ shooting, and the buddy next to him for the practice, did not forewarn of the recoil / eye )…
…uhhh…
… others hearing the story days after, just shook their head, said nothing …
( feel free to surmise what was being thought… barney fifes, handling more than they can handle ? …)
Love thy neighbors
😂 😂 😂 😂
Too close to a phallic symbol for the soy boys and gals and tweens of NATO?
Hypocrisy beyond end, remember 2 of those countries besides the US have nuclear arsenals. These are the twits currently poking the Russian bear and endangering millions to a greater or lesser degree.
Posers! Actors and poor ones at that.
POTUSes Trump and Putin laughing in their sleeves wishing they had thought of it!
“The general response is that President Erdogan has just handed the NATO leaders something akin to an unstable, portable nuclear device. Most of the European’s won’t even touch the custom case that accompanies the handgun, let alone actually touch the alarmingly scary pistol itself.”
There are many things that can be gleaned from this. One is that these “leaders” are lots of talk, but little or no action.
Turkey is the source for many quality lower cost firearms imported into the United States (especially shotguns) since sanctions have prevented the import of firearms from Russia.
Looks like a Colt. Neat, wish I was there, would love to have one. What a bunch of idiots. Typical reaction from a bunch of spoon fed, coddled, mommy dressed dopes. Wouldn’t take much to take any of them over, probably firing no shots.
That’s a hog leg. Looks like Colt Python with 6″ Barrel. Yowza…
It’s a better gift to a world leader than a pager-bomb.
Maybe as a return gift, the European leaders could give Erdogan a ham.
HAHAHAHA!!!
My late, Beloved Irene (120lbs, soaking wet) operated my S&W 500 magnum like a champ! (Usually in the comfort of a friend’s back yard…)
What a bunch of eunuchs!!
Much Love and Respect fellow Treepers,
skipper
IMHO, the point of the gun is “learn to defend yourself and your country”!
Go ahead… Make My Day…. ROLMAO
I’ll take them if the weenies don’t want them.
Nice gift! I started seeing the stories about the Euroweenies reaction yesterday… and was laughing my head off 😀
I have one of those (pinched if from my hubby) and boy does it kick when you fire…. but it does make one feel very safe when alone 😉

It looks like a copy of a Colt Python 8″Barrel. They must be knocking those off now too.
The vent rig on top of the barrel looks different. Could be a knock-off.
This is interesting.
Exactly what was Erdogan’s intent?
Learn to defend yourself first?
Learn to pull your own trigger?
Handgun versus missile?
Actions speak louder than words?
Put up or shut up?
1918 versus 2027
Watch your back?
Idk…..
Love the move by Erdogan. Just happens to be my favorite handgun caliber too. I agree with President Trump, nice gun.
I suspect that, aside from being absurdly weak human specimens, the EU leaders turned their gifts over to police or museums as, after the 6 bullets would be spent in some way, there would be no way to restock them. You’re lucky if you can legitimately get a shotgun in the EU, and are only approved if you advise you need to kill the crows devastating your farm.
