Well said, very practical position.
I noticed we’re almost $4.00/gallon here in north Alabama. The gas/oil peeps will probably be upset if the deal goes through and prices plummet.
I may be ignorant, but it seems like the spike in gas prices has no bearing on costs, but rather just fear of what may happen.
It is my understanding from a friend in the O&G industry that gas prices at the pump are driven largely by the seller’s anticipated future cost of replacing the gasoline that is sold.
As I understand it the price of gas is based upon oil in the ground not yet refined. Oil futures are closely watched and quite sensitive to up/down price movement. Oil futures price drives the final cost to the consumer as oil goes through collection, refinement, domestic transportation/distribution etc. and on to the consumer.
But how to explain why prices go up immediately with future anticipated raw material cost, but take a long time to go down after future anticipated cost goes down? Its a mystery !!!
They make their money when price goes down, not up. Price goes up immediately when cost goes up and they drag their feet lowering prices when costs go down.
Mystery solved !
The trial lawyer who trained me said “follow the money…..”
Unless you live in CA and then you have to add in a couple of dollars per gallon for the added state taxes imposed.
I’ll bet that some CT readers will think that you’re being sarcastic.
*
But yes, indeed: it is a couple of bucks per gallon here in CA.
About $5.50 at Costco now
This is the case in all blue states I’d say.
The gas prices over in Vermont are so substantially higher than they are here in NH that I often wonder how they even sell any gas over there.
And by the way, when we see people wailing about how the economy isn’t that good, these are the state they live in..
I can see this all very clearly here when I cross the river into Vermont, a whole lot is like a very different world over there.
We’re getting the point here where life in these deep blue states isn’t even America anymore- their perception of everything is very skewed because of what they see all around them.
Washington State also. They have a new tax starting in June to raise it at least 2% per year. Also adding an unconstitutional (for WA State) income tax on those making over 1 million. So far 3 billionaires have moved out of state. They said if it is not enough they will drop it below 1 mil. They super majority dem party went through 20 billion surplus in less than 2 years mostly on illegals and now they need to refill their pockets.
That’s probably the cost of the product from refinery to pump, not from pump to customer.
Bingo! Otherwise they couldn’t pay for the next delivery.
All commodities are based on speculation. How big will the crop be this summer, how much oil will a certain area produce, or how much gold will Tony Beets get this season, is what drives the markets.
Commodity prices are influenced by supply and demand dynamics, which can be affected by economic conditions, natural disasters, and investor sentiment.
So there’s a cease fire and it’s likely that it will be easier to deliver, same rational as being scarce over the past few weeks — what’s the over/under when prices free fall?
Should be lower with the addition of Venezuelan and Iranian oil.
Parker gonna get more than him this year 🙂
In CA even fires in a refinery (when we actually HAD refineries, as they have left thanks to EPA, regularory and Newscum) drove prices up immediately so yes…anticipation is permitted to punish us
$6.59 in San Diego and the difference isn’t all California tax! 🤔
Filling stations have to price gasoline at what they will have to pay for their next delivery, not what they paid for what they already have.
Gas is $4.10 a gallon in my area of NH right now.
exactly, it’s all about the future and what MIGHT happen, it’s just how the sausage is made…

JD’s statements and answers during this event have been excellent.
Yes, “fragile truce” is great framing. It hits it from all angles. It’s fragile because the Administration knows any little thing can be used by the naysayers, propagandists, the world’s “deep states,” and others to sabotage things. Not to mention, thet the reputation of Iranian leadership is not strong.
Fragile is good because, yes, rogue elements in Iran, with goals not aligned with the current new leadership’s agreement, may try to sabotage it by sending drones or missiles to attack neighbors or US warships. They also may continue to assisnate Iranians not aligned with the previous Mullahs.
Great framing by Vance.
I wonder how many former Vice Presidents heard Vice President Vance say he was up all night working with the President on this deal thought, I never did that, all did was check on the President’s health every morning.
IIRC, FDR knew his health was bad, but intentionally kept Truman completely in the dark. Then he was faced with major decisions mid-war without preparation or familiarity.
So credit goes to PDJT for keeping Vance involved and participating in his potential Constitutional role. .
Unfortunately, Pence was not worthy of Constitutional consideration or preparation.
In business managers are always cultivating and training the next generation to take over when they move up or retire. Watch President Trump’s interaction with Vance and Rubio. A little friendly competition for the “Boss’ job is a healthy thing also.
This isn’t your normal political promotion by incest administration.
Is Hungary to be become our “Israel” in Europe–a close allay fighting against the “bureaucrats of the European Union” where the United States desires to be their best friend mirroring shared values?
Whoever is Vice President Vance’s chief speech writer is one hell of a writer! Vance delivered this speech like a pro in so many ways….listen and watch the audience’s responses–he hit a grand slam!
As of today, tangible, narrow benefits exist. Specifically, for investors in U.S. energy exporters and defense contractors. Additionally, long-term geopolitical positioning benefits against Iran, China, The EU and NATO.
Iran must negotiate in good faith???
To expect that they even might is to ignore history of which there is plenty, every bit of it following the same immutable pattern.
Hopeism over reality should never be a strategy.
I keep reading that President Trump believes whoever he is dealing with is a more “moderate” Mohammaden. And I am surprised by his statement, as there is nothing about Islam or its adherents which any sane person could call “moderate”.
Full Stop.
If it is this man (see link below), and I’ve seen his name in the mix, Iran has no intention of abiding by any “deal”, no matter how it might be constructed or whatever “guard rails” are in place. To believe it will be is not only foolish but blindingly naïve. Two things which President Trump has never been.
Familiarize yourselves with the enemy.
https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/22410/ghalibaf-is-no-moderate
For a second there I thought you were talking about the entire democrat party.
How interesting you should notice this.
Daniel Greenfield, the most consistent and eloquent essayist writing at this time, has penned a short piece about “Peace Through Strength” and an accurate definition of why in this day when it seems evil is flexing its power it is necessary. He has made the same observation. Voilà!! The Democrat Party.
Most highly recommended.
https://www.frontpagemag.com/peace-comes-from-an-absence-of-evil-not-an-absence-of-war/
I love reading Daniel Greenfield and have never once found one of his essays that in ineloquent or that I don’t agree with; a rather rare occurrence, as we never find someone we always agree with.
Anytime I run across his byline, John, I’m all over it like a bedspread 😎👍🏻
Have you considered that President Trump already knows this? That he has already looked ahead to the possible responses and actions and accordingly devised a strategy for each possible move? Do you really believe that Trump has fallen hook, line, and sinker for the more moderate Mohammaden meme?
Respectfully, I don’t think so, considering that none of the statements he makes can be considered what he actually believes, or that that they represent the actual cards he keeps tightly to his chest. What I believe is that he is once again providing a legitimate means for them to solve the situation and to get on board with the program, while simultaneously providing the rope to hang themselves; the carrot and the stick.
Forcing the enemy to reveal their true intentions for all the world to see; a method that he has demonstrated time and time again over the last decade, and that he is truly master of.
Have I considered? Absolutely. And I deliberately if not perhaps too subtly acknowledged that he isn’t just the latest in a disgraceful line of Presidents cuckholded by murderous subhumans.
Thus my point that he has never been foolish nor naïve.
We cannot know what he thinks nor his strategies, his Plans A (in the first instance), then Plans B, C, D…if or probably when the enemy reverts to type. We do not know much of anything actually, which is as it should be.
We do, however, know how he operates and the results he gets from his methods. He no doubt is familiar with the names of every IRGC honcho, and most likely exactly where each is, as well as their communications. He will not be caught flat footed.
Having said this, I thought others would find it informative to become aware of the mendacious, fanatical enemy probably even at this moment executing his own agenda to carry on as he always has, misjudging that he and his fellow psychopaths have the upper hand.
And so now, as difficult and unnerving as it may be, we watch and wait.
We will see.
As always Betsy, well said.
Then how does your argument hold up against Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Jordan, UAE? We have mutually respected agreements, alignments, diplomatic relations and military relationships and none of these nations are seeking nuclear weapons. You have to deal with the world as it is, not what you perceive it to be. Hold onto your interests and back them up with overwhelming military and economic power. Like it or not we have to deal with middle eastern nations and it’s peoples.
Did you read Daniel Greenfield’s short essay which I left above?
I am in complete agreement with him…and therefore in principle with you.
Those nations are not apocalyptic like the mullah ghouls.
Miss Betsy: Iran is about as trustworthy as a weasel in the chicken coop. I’d like to believe our President and his cabinet know this fact.
Strange; not one media person has inquired about the Marine and Army troops in theater. And the Dept. of War hasn’t said boo either. My hunch is that they are more than a bit player in all this whether part of an overall plan or a contingency, should the lying leadership of Iran plays us false once again..
While we play guessing games, the operation no doubt continues, DN. But they haven’t called it a day and gone home. Preparation for any contingency. Yes, I am also thinking.
As usual the enemedia hasn’t caught up.
Thanks to all above for an interesting discussion, and special thanks to Betsy for posting the link to Daniel Greenfield’s short essay.
I was very happy(/impressed by what VP Vance said about the state of affairs re Iran. He is a very good messenger for PDJT who everyone ought to know by now, one needs to take very seriously but not always literally.
(The problem for any president is that his public statements are not only responses to particular questions about facts, but almost always negotiating gambits or warnings to a number of different adversaries, often at the same time. Therefore, by necessity a good president needs to be somewhat Delphic in his statements IMHO. Very often – almost always – this passes by the peons in the MSM, thus, giving us information of very poor quality, even if one disregards their habitual anti-Trump bias.)
So onto what VP Vance said about Iran: It appears to me that the administration are fully aware of what they are doing. They know that the Iranian regime are full of fanatics who are willing to give up all to crush Israel – and the Sunni Gulf states, and then in the distant (or not so distant) future the rest of the West. They do not look for the exceptional “moderate” among the leaders, but the almost as exceptional rationalist. It is an axiom that no one manages to rise to the top, or near the top of the Iranian regime without being a Shi’ite Islamist, but even they – at least if one are to believe M. Tousi on Tousi TV and other Iranians in exile – are aware that they are sitting on a powder keg. The people are dissatisfied.
It is possible, or even likely, that there is not a majority of the Iranian population that is willing to risk all to upend the present regime to gain the freedoms we take for granted in the West. But given a bad economy and deteriorating infrastructure this may well cause a majority of the population to rise against the Islamic rulers. There appears to be some within the regime who understand that the US under PDJT can cause Iran untold economic hardship and definitely have the military power to crush the infrastructure of Iran. OTOH they also understand that the present US administration is both able, and under certain conditions, willing, to help Iran to improve its wealth. The former will lay the ground for a massive uprising – even without any US troops in Iran – whereas the second may improve the present regime’s chances to survive, although in a somewhat altered fashion.
The question then is whether they are smart enough to understand that the present US administration will not allow itself to be fooled by underhanded negotiation tactics or later on rejection of parts of the deal.
I do not doubt at all that President Trump and his ministers have plenty of contingency plans ready. What will determine the fate in near future of Iran is whether the rationalists or the fanatics will have the upper hand, and if it is the former if they will play fairly, or as fairly as can be expected in that part of the world.
If the IRGC hardliners are driving the bus, that treaty is doomed. See Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, AD 628. It had a 10 yr limit, a non-aggression agreement, etc. Mohammad broke the treaty 2 yrs later and obliterated the Quraysh of Medina once he gained enough power to do so. Thus, No treaty can be for more than 10 yrs, and may be broken at any time it is convenient to do so.
Methinks Trump is giving them a public chance to end the conflict. If they don’t take it, what follows is on their heads.
Bombing power plants is a Big Deal. Large substation transformers are custom built and take 2 to 4 years to make and deliver.
Essentially, it will be “back to the stone age” for about 3 years at the least. Similar leadtime for switchgear. It is cost prohibitive to keep spares that are several million dollars apiece.
But, if the hotheads want to roll the dice, they’d better have lots of candles and spare water. No refrigeration, no pharmaceuticals , etc. It would be a humanitarian catastrophe of biblical proportions.
And the Iranian/Persian population to finish it.
Just on Tousi TV: Open confrontations between IRGC(radicals) vs IRGC. Demonstrators calling for death to the “compromisers”!
What could possibly go wrong for the IRGC(r)?
Also, (workers) strikes have starterd again in Teheran.
Nothing can be trusted at this point and that is the scary part. Iran and it’s “leaders” can never be trusted.
Add to that, Netanyahu has rejected the President’s ceasefire plan…guess I am not surprised. Don’t know if this is true; one never knows what is AI and what is not.
https://x.com/ShadowofEzra/status/2041932316352581782
It’s why I despise AI, sis.
It’s all too fresh. As you say, whoever knows what is true and what is not with anything. A lot of misdirection is employed certainly.
I’ll borrow from one of President Trump’s favourite books…
“All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.”
~Guess Who….
Extremist muslims want to kill us. Moderate muslims want the extremists muslims to kill us.
Excellent article, Betsy.
I hope everyone reads it.
I think our President has it covered. A quote from a Pentagon news brief this morning: “ We’ll be loading up with supplies of all kinds, and just “hangin’ around” in order to make sure that everything goes well. I feel confident that it will. Just like we are experiencing in the U.S., this could be the Golden Age of the Middle East!!!”
I saw this. Otherwise known as “Trump-speak”.
There are plenty millions of “nominal” Muslims the same way there are millions of “nominal” Catholics
Succinct…

Starmer has immediately flown to the Middle East to emphasise his crucial role in the US-Iran ceasefire, which he didn’t broker, didn’t know was coming, didn’t participate in shaping and had absolutely no part in whatsoever
4:10 AM · Apr 8, 2026
Starmer should be an absolute embarrassment to England, it’s telling that he’s not.
There are plenty of UK media voices calling him out. Not only is he a disgusting embarrassment, he is an emporer with not a stich on. True Brits see him. They know it. And there’s not a dang thing they can do about it.
To think that not so long ago, at its peak in 1920, the British Empire covered approximately 13.7 million square miles (about 24% of the Earth’s total land area) and governed around 412 million people (about 23% of the world’s population at that time). Now, they can’t even keep imported Muslims from out-birthing them on their own island. May the last real Englishman turn the lights out when he leaves.
this pact is to wedge out the old oil/wars/bankers construct and destroy it, as it’s all based on England
BINGO
He is, which is why he tried to stop the council elections in May from going ahead. ‘Never here Kier’ is the subject of disgust and ridicule for an ever increasing number of Brits, as he ploughs ahead with his Biden-lite programme for the country.
Prime Minister Johnny Come Lately and a completely self absorbed oik of the first order.

An “oaf” and a “senseless idiot” (I had to look those up).
I wonder what he will say to the Gulf states, after what they’ve been through, after what they have seen out of the UK in the last month and a half. I wonder how they will receive him?
I can already guess how we will receive him. Same with Israel. How the Islamic Republic takes this is anybody’s guess; pretty sure the Iranian people are not going to take him well, for perfectly valid reasons.
For that matter: I wonder how Russia and China will?
I hope the Gulf nations will say, “Thanks, we got this.”
The UK is not a member of the Board of Peace. Take a read of today’s Coffee & Covid:
https://www.coffeeandcovid.com/p/transactions-wednesday-april-8-2026?publication_id=463409&post_id=193575601&isFreemail=true&r=209fvb&triedRedirect=true
Specifically:
“Cast your mind back to last Spring, when Trump, fresh off the Inauguration, was oddly touring the Middle East making deals. Remember that? There were two parts. First, in 2025, he made individual trade deals with most major Middle Eastern countries. At the beginning of this year —after ending the ugly Israel-Hamas war— he formed the Board of Peace and funded it with $10 billion dollars…
“In January, 2026, President Trump launched his Board of Peace with a $1 billion buy-in for extended membership. Notice who joined: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco and others; making 25+ countries total. Now notice who did not join: Iran. (“Allies” like UK, France, and Canada all dragged their feet.) The US pledged $10 billion to run it, with $1.25 billion already transferred from the State Department…
“Here’s what all this means: long before Trump launched Operation Epic Fury, he stitched up all of Iran’s neighbors, entangling them in a web of economic and investment deals, trade agreements, and, to top it all off, their memberships in the Board of Peace. If you ever wondered why every single Middle Eastern country aligned with the US in the conflict against Iran— this is why.
“He trapped them. Every major Middle Eastern economy is now financially entangled with the US through the Board of Peace alone. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar —Iran’s neighbors and oil competitors— are on the board. Turkey —Iran’s northern neighbor— is on the board. Pakistan —Iran’s eastern neighbor who just helped broker the cease-fire— is on the board.
All these countries now have billions invested in a US-led framework that Iran is specifically excluded from. It’s like Trump built an exclusive country club that doesn’t admit Iranians. He got all Iran’s buddies signed up with long-term club contracts. Then he filed for foreclosure against Iran. What can the rest of them do? Give up their memberships? Break the contract?
TAW.
i would respectfully tweak the terms “entangled” and “trapped” per the article.
one of PT’s greatest strengths is to get everyone on board by INCENTIVIZING
their participation in a deal, i.e. skin in the game.
he offers, as he has said flat out many times, and among other things,
the opportunity to “make lots of money”.😎
IOW, life for you, your country, and your citizens will be rewarded for doing the right thing.
THAT, i believe, was the basis of his first term deals which laid the groundwork
for the success of his geopolitical strategy.
perhaps a bit nit-picky, but in general , PT has a positive negotiating stance when approaching new deals – he doesn’t set out to trap you, he sets out to make it worth your while.
ah, but if you cross him… 🇨🇦😂
China and Russia are again as of now shipping more weapons to Iran. That’s how they’re acting.

He’s probably just going now so he can get a good seat for the upcoming ceremony celebrating the grand opening of the straits of TRUMP.
Deny him landing rights, as he did for our planes on his stupid airfield.
Just blindside them now… this is ridiculous.
Give our President time. Arliegh burk distroyers are now in the process of sailing to Diego Garcia to replenish their launch cells. A two week turn around. Will be fully armed and ready. The next phase will be very destructive and effective. Our war department has no limits, rules of engagement are now set for victory on our terms. God bless and protect our war fighters.
Iranian “Leaders” give no f*cks for their countrymen. There is a leadership group running internally and a separate leadership group dealing with the US. The internal group is the one that HAS to be eliminated. Maybe they are both one in the same? The Iranian people are hostages. War is ugly.
I believe we/US will rise above the worst case scenarios. We rise, I believe Iran will rise with us.
Well, it’s a fragile cease fire.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/04/iran-terror-regime-shuts-down-strait-hormuz-again/
They have no intentions of honoring anything. Their holy book tells them they can lie to infidels, and anyone who isn’t a cult member of Islam is an infidel.
So let’s not pretend any longer about a cease fire being anything but a brief pause in the Iranian Revolutionary Republic’s long march of world domination by terrorism and blackmail.
As long they’re chanting death to Israel and America, there will be no peace or ceasefire.
Trump has already declared that the cease-fire agreement doesn’t cover Lebanon and Hezbollah, no matter what the Iranians claim:
President Donald Trump said that Lebanon is not included in the two-week ceasefire with Iran, in a phone interview with PBS.
“Yeah they were not included in the deal,” Trump told PBS.
Asked why, Trump said, “because of Hezbollah. They were not included in the deal.”
“That’ll get taken care of too. It’s alright,” Trump said.
I listened to the entire address and came away with the following random points:
(1) “This ‘VP’, unlike many others, is not “a spare tire.”
(2) Instead, he can go to many places – like this one – where he is not introduced with “Hail To The Chief,” and he can directly speak. And have many things to say, even to a purely academic audience in a foreign country.
(3) He was entirely sure of when he could “speak for himself,” and “speak for The President.” He never crossed the line, but instead fluently switched. It was simply inherent in the way that he said everything. Yet the two messages were fully coherent, while spoken by one man.
(4) There was no “teleprompter.” Even when talking about his experiences at Yale, or giving academic career advice to young college students, he spoke candidly and intelligently. There were no “puppeteers.”
(5) The team of “President (Hail-to the-chief …) Trump” and “Vice-President (clap clap clap …) Vance” is an extremely important and effective partnership. They’re both out there every day, conveying the critical top-level diplomatic message. Each one earning their keep, but in complementary ways.
(6) Donald Trump could not and would not have said what JD Vance did, and vice-versa – and “that is precisely my point.” Two for the price of one, both stand-alone, fully coordinated, both different.
(7) It’s an amazing thing to watch . . . and “it rings honest.” (From both individuals.)
(8) “International Diplomacy” is right-now getting schooled!
How refreshing. No knee-jerk response because of a personal dislike or wailing about “the sky is falling back home, get back here now”. Just an honest review of our Vice President’s performance.
Mike – thank you.

The U.S. 14 point framework presented to Iran:
• Full dismantlement of accumulated nuclear capabilities
• Binding commitment never to pursue nuclear weapons
• Zero enrichment permitted on Iranian soil
• All enriched material transferred to the IAEA on an accelerated timeline
• Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow to be decommissioned and destroyed
• Full transparency with the IAEA across all nuclear activities
• End of the proxy warfare doctrine
• Immediate halt to funding and arming regional proxies
• Strait of Hormuz guaranteed open as a free maritime corridor
• Missile program to face future limits on range and quantity
• Short range missiles restricted strictly to defensive use
• Full sanctions relief for Iran
• Support for a civilian nuclear project in Bushehr for electricity generation
• Removal of the snapback sanctions mechanism
Of course, I must request official sources. Because, in the world of propaganda, I cannot presume the authenticity of anything.
No offense – just sayin’.
And just like that, no sources, but he shares two differing takes. These people….FFS.
Iran says it has “forced” the US to accept its “10-point plan” which includes the following terms:
1. Commitment to non-aggression
2. Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz
3. Acceptance of Iran’s uranium enrichment
4. Lifting of all primary sanctions
5. Lifting of all secondary sanctions
6. Termination of all UN Security Council resolutions
7. Termination of all Board of Governors resolutions
8. Paying compensation to Iran
9. Withdrawal of US combat forces from the region
10. Cessation of war on all fronts, including in Lebanon
Trump says this plan is “a workable basis.”
My point: “Who says” that “Iran says?” And then, “who says” that “Trump says?”
Welcome to the reality of PROPAGANDA. Which is a thing that is just as old as “War, itself.” And which you can expect from both sides, including your own.
(I literally own textbooks on this subject. Some of them a hundred years old. Yes, they should scare the pants off of you.)
Feed extra meat to your “suspicious cat.” 🐈
Mike and Paul; A couple of points.
1) Perhaps if you put 10 seconds into searching the veracity of something before you degrade it you have a better rep.
2) I have been posting here long before you climbed to the lower branches. Until now no one has ever called a post of mine propaganda. ( Please note the lower branches often catch the shit and I believe in this case you deserve some. )
Paul and Mike. Both of these were found at the Hot Air site, one of the top conservative sites today. Perhaps you should include it along with your daily readings.
@Freedom: I will be direct. I never mean anything whatsoever “personal,” but I also do not implicitly believe anything. If you feel slighted in any way, then I publicly apologize here.
Having said this, perhaps I failed to notice an official US Government source which listed this “framework.” (So far, I am aware of at least two: ten, and fourteen.)
As far as what I say about “propaganda,” I simply mean this literally. I’ve got hundred-year-old books in my library which should scare you. It’s a reality, and it can come from anywhere and from any side – including ours. When you encounter a piece of “information,” in these days and times, it pays to treat it as such. This statement is not “personal,” and it has nothing to do with “you.” Again, if you misunderstood, I hereby publicly apologize. “‘Nuff said.”
No source. Let Factual Informations and Sources Ring
Israel will never tolerate this cease fire agreement.
Israel is not part of the cease fire agreement. It was not part of the negotiations between the US and Iran.

Correct, they were left out, and it’s for a great reason – We are about to send BIBI on his way. Interesting to learn about this reporter
Heard on radio that SoH has been closed again. I’ll have to wait for confirmed report from WH before knowing what is true.
Most of what I am reading and hearing is sourced to IranInternational website. I tried find out who they were and it appears to be UK based.
I had never heard of them until recently and until I can get some credible verification they are honest I am trying hard not to react to things sourced to them.

I am sure many on this chain have read “All Quiet on the Western Front.” I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t. The point being:
With the Mullahs command and control networks being reportedly wiped out and despite living in an era of immediate communications, it’s possible that it’s taking time to get the word out to their various units that the ceasefire is real. There very well could also be “rogue units” that don’t give a sh!t. I am not dismissing that possibility.
Going to give it a couple of days before determining the effectiveness of whatever President Trump has negotiated.
A two week cease-fire during which the 3rd and 4th layers of the regimes surviving leadership among the IRGC and the Baji will surface and make their plays for power.
…and during which the US and Israeli networks both people and hardware will be tagging them, dedicating resources to track them and a widening ring of their contacts …such that when the fanatics inevitably kill any real chance of peace …as they will
…and on that day that Trump releases the kraken once again …the fanatics regime will once again be decapitated within hours …then and only then will peace negotiations really begin.
Giving them just enough rope to hang themselves.
They should ask themselves if they feel lucky.
“4-D Chess.”
“Bishop to King’s Knight 3, Level 4, Atmosphere 2.” Check.
President Trump has now made his move. Maybe it wasn’t the move that you anticipated, but what exactly is new about that? Heh.
His various opponents will now respond. (The oppressed people of Iran may or may not be able to respond.) However, within days, the opponents’ designs will have been made perfectly clear. They have been forced to the edge, and can no longer conceal anything.
“Check.”
What is the best predictor of someone’s behavior?
It has been my experience that there isn’t one.
Well, past behavior of course.
Self-interest.
From all account there is no cease fire. and from the agreed opinions of Democrats and Republicans in congress Iran has committed war crimes by attacking power plants on Kuwait.
And the Ukrainian military has been targeting Russian power plants and other infrastructure for years. Ukraine has committing war crimes by that same logic.
I was just thinking this the other night. No issues when Ukraine does it.
Some war crimes are more equal than others.
Aye, some narratives must be maintained.
Another red line crossed, another pretense of “ceasefire” broken. Two weeks didn’t last two hours.
Is it even possible to make a deal?
Are we dealing with a ghost command hell bent on apocalypse?
Bleeding it dry (or at least flushing it out) may have a high price.
If we’re going to see this through we better damn well have a genius plan.
Meanwhile, the fog of war grows domestically as we have our own country to save from the destructive hordes.
And then there’s the mid-terms…
Let’s just hope all works out!
I’m posting this regarding oil and hope it makes sense to help folks understand what lies ahead. That’s why it’s so important that the strait is opened quickly as to not delay further damaging effects, globally.

Ok great job JD. Now get back here to your primary/principal job in the US. Fraud Czar!!
Take down California and three things will happen.
1. Fraud is so rampant Newscum retreats from running as the news cooks him to a crisp.
2. More and more fraud is found in every Blue state, billions and billions worth.
3. You help the GOP in the mid-terms keep the congress and have 1/2 a chance at becoming the President after Trump.
If even JD can pull this off, he will still only have 1/2 a chance. Rubio is running strong. Rubio just needs to keep (Forrest Gump running) strong and JD is out. Just a thought is all.
J.D is like Rubio, a multi tasker. The best Cabinet ever.
Islamic radical fundamentalists do not ‘negotiate in good faith’. They have one objective and will do whatever it takes to meet that objective. You don’t change the ideology of ‘death to America’ at a negotiating table.
You change it by taking out the Iranian dead-ender negotiation team’s plane on the way back from Paki to Tehran.
Who said diplomacy is war by others means?
President Trump and his administration will have Iran sorted soon with an end to Iran’s nuclear military ambitions. The “dust” will be dug out and disposed of by the U.S. and the reactor shutdown begun. The Iranian nuclear threat is going to end.
Perhaps one or two of the colossal idiots that comprise the Democrat Party today learned from all of this that sending the IRGC and the Ayatollah pallets of cash only emboldened them. Retards.
Speaking of cash, I’d bet money that our president is already thinking of how to end another threat in another part of the world; namely “little rocket man” before he leaves office.
Rocket man does whatever Daddy Xi tells him to.
Xi Dada may be calling the shots for North Korea at present but stay tuned. I have a magic 8 ball that I received as a gift when I was a kid and when I ask it if the North Korean threat is going to be mitigated before the end of President Trump’s second term it comes back with: “Outlook good.”
What the West needs to understand about Iran. Traditionally, they are a ‘bargaining’ culture. They’re completely proficient in the art of the bargain. For centuries they traded in the bazar – the merchant class there are known as the “bazar’ees”. The bargain is all part of the process – it is a game, with much posing and posturing. This is known as “choo-neh”. Choo-neh is all about grinding out a result favorable to oneself.
There’s another word in Farsi: “Ka-laak”. Ka-laak is all about gamesmanship – it often entails getting away with something to the other party’s deficit. It may well involve lying. But getting away with the ka-laak is seen as a badge of honor. Ka-laak – the head fake – may well be a part of the choo-neh – the bargain. This is what happens whether you’re buying an Oriental carpet, negotiating a business transaction, or, I imagine, a cease-fire.
They’re masters at this. The moronic trad-media and Dimmy pols are clueless about this. Now, PDJT knows many Persians. He knows about the art of ka-laak and choo-neh. That may well be how he arrived at his book title.
And as VP Vance said President Trump has stated that the Iranians are much better negotiators than soldiers.
This administration seems to have a much better understanding of Iran than previous administrations had despite their abundance of so called Mid-East experts.
Iran is acutely aware of American push polling, Marxist media and the two year election cycles. Due to these things, they know they greatly affect the optics even losing under severe asymmetrical warfare. If they obliterated a city, Marxist Islam-loving media would claim Trump started it.
As a conservative, doing anything this consequential means you will be scapegoated until out of office. We have to accept potential electoral losses as part of battling Marxism.
Keir Starmer….🤪🫣
What a maroon.
Success has many architects/failure an orphan, eh????
The magnanimous buffoon acts as if he had anything whatsoever to do with it.
“Who is ‘we’, Kemo Sabe?”
There is a real dust storm swirling around there. Best to let the dust settle before we know where things actually stand.
Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Numerous Agreements, Lists, and Letters are being sent out by people that have absolutely nothing to do with the U.S.A. / Iran Negotiation, in many cases, they are total Fraudsters, Charlatans, and WORSE. They will be rapidly exposed after our Federal Investigation is completed. There is only one group of meaningful “POINTS” that are acceptable to the United States, and we will be discussing them behind closed doors during these Negotiations. These are the POINTS that are the basis on which we agreed to a CEASEFIRE. It is something that is reasonable, and can easily be dispensed with. It’s very much like Fake News CNN last night, headlining a “source” that had no power or authority to write a Letter claiming great authority. President DONALD J. TRUMP

🚨 BREAKING: VP JD Vance announces Israel has offered to LET OFF strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon if it helps peace arrangements between Iran and the US
“I think this comes from a legitimate misunderstanding. I think the Iranians thought that the ceasefire included Lebanon and it just didn’t. We never made that promise!”

FYI….
The Royal Australian Navy has a total of 3 destroyers and 6 frigates.

I’ll throw this out here:
Boston Radio’s Howie Carr’s Poll Question Of The Day: “Do you trust the Iranians to negotiate in good faith with America”.
As of about 20 minutes ago it’s at 92% NO.
Trump’s language…
Ari Fleicsher gets it….
Very similar to Far East face – saving.
One thing I never hear of our demands is that Iran CANNOT have an ayatollah Muslim in charge. Democracy only.
Why won’t anyone say that?
