The stresses of retaining climate ideology are beginning to surface in the EU and ‘western nations.’ The developing world needs fertilizer quickly, or their twice annual harvests will not produce enough to feed their population. However, the EU does not want the developing world to create their own fertilizer because it would mean using an energy source the EU no longer supports.
The result within the G7, G20, World Economic Forum, multinational corporations and EU government, is a debate over whether it is better for people to starve, or to allow developing countries to manufacture fertilizer to feed themselves. Some in the EU and western alliance say let the people die, climate is more important. Others, seem to be saying if they allow mass starvation just to retain their climate ideology, they may lose influence in the world. The debate rages on.
(Reuters) – The European Union is divided on how to help poorer nations fight a growing food crisis and address shortages of fertilizers caused by the war in Ukraine, with some fearing a plan to invest in plants in Africa would clash with EU green goals.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has prompted a global food crisis and fears of worse to come because of a drop in grain exports from Ukraine and a spike in prices of chemical fertilizers, of which Russia and Belarus are major producers. The EU has for weeks tried to help its poorer neighbours in Africa and the Middle East to weather the crisis by offering them fresh funds, while trying to convince them EU sanctions against Moscow and Minsk are not to be blamed for the food emergency.
At a summit of EU leaders later this week, the EU was planning a new initiative that would structurally decrease poorer nations’ reliance on Russian fertilisers by helping them develop their own fertiliser plants.
But at a meeting with EU envoys last week, the EU Commission explicitly opposed the text, warning that supporting fertiliser production in developing nations would be inconsistent with the EU energy and environment policies, officials said.
The production of chemical fertilisers has a big impact on the environment and requires large amounts of energy. However, they are crucially effective in boosting agriculture output. (read more)

Far too many Americans don’t “get it” because they are intellectually lazy. They have outsourced their intellect to the TV.
In many ways it is understandable. So many people/families put in incredible hours in their careers, and the demands on the remainder of their time are far greater than generations beforehand. Even though there is far greater access to information than at any time in human history, many don’t take the time because of sheer exhaustion. Instead, they choose to “check out” with the TV and the cycle continues.
I know it was that way in my career.
That’s where SD’s frustration about “where is the political opposition articulating the nature of the threat” really highlights the void. It is completely absent, invisible and silent. My opinion? That should worry those of us who are aware because even Trump and DeSantis have not connected the dots as SD and a select few others do.

Not sure that is the case. Not in attack mode here. I know plenty, very well educated leftists/progs who understand what is going on. Yet, they are committed to a worldview/value system that transcends argument. It is a personal article of faith for these people. In truth, I know many good people on the right who are amazingly uninformed from an overarching system-of-systems pov on how the institutions in our lives (e.g., Federal Reserve) are structured and operate. They have instinctual responses. They are amazingly adept at posting URLs that link facts or assertions – but not theory or systems knowledge. Just dip your toes into a discussion on MMT, Keynesianism and currency and you quickly discover, conceding these are arcane areas to start with, that most do not invest the time to understand the material.

There is no historical precedent, no “road map” they can follow, they are “driving without a map”.

Initially this was all planned out, looking at the WEF Agenda 21 and Agenda 2030(the Great Reset) they had most of the angles covered.
As I made in a comment above, the people coming up with these plans and the WEF in general are composed of Dark Triad personalities. These types of people have a serious weakness, they behave like predators and think like predators so they suffer from the same weakness as predators, they don’t truly understand their prey and they don’t understand failure.
In the human variety they also suffer from one emotional blind spot, they are arrogant and do think they cannot lose and so don’t have contingency plans for a scenario where they are losing.

You know how the culturing/fermenting process is used to make minerals and other nutrients in food more bio-available? Enzymes produced by good microbes release minerals that were bound up and unavailable.
