There is an angle to this move which looms. If the doomsday predictions of Twitter’s Thursday anticipated first quarter financial earnings are correct, it is entirely possible that Musk is about to take a massive financial hit.
Some, including myself, who understand the financial black hole that Twitter’s business model represents, have suspicions that Twitter may be hung around Musk’s neck like a millstone as he’s thrown into the deep state sea of social media. It will be interesting to see how quickly Musk responds to those Q1 financials. [NOTE: I foresee be a small user fee in the future]
News Release – “Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” said Mr. Musk. “I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans. Twitter has tremendous potential – I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it.”
Tucker Carlson outlined the political ramifications surrounding breaking one of the big social media platforms away from the deep state control agents. WATCH:
.
President Donald Trump will not be returning to Twitter, he is sticking with TruthSocial which is nearing completion. “I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH,” Trump told Fox News. “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to be staying on TRUTH.”
There are a lot of downstream ramifications that have yet to surface as a result of the Musk-Twitter purchase. Will users find out what the rules are for the specific network containers they have been assigned to? Will the scale of simultaneous user data-processing be made public along with the algorithms that Twitter uses once you have been given a specific container assignment?
There is opportunity for much more understanding of how the social media platforms operate just by permitting increased transparency. There’s a possibility once the container assignment process is made public, people will then start to inquire about Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other Big Tech platform processes that divide people based on arbitrarily determined viewpoints.
Most social media users do not understand the technology behind the platform they are using, although a greater awareness is ongoing.
It is deep inside that technology that government and social media intersect, and as people get closer and closer to that intersection, there will be reactions from the intelligence operators. The public-private partnership is not codified anywhere, there is no rulebook or record keeping that will assist anyone to understand what the current process is.
Everything up to now has been easy for the tech Oligarchs to continue because no one knows how it works. Each social media system knows the larger objective so little communication between them is needed. However, just like Poland in the 1980’s, once people take to the open cyber streets and start to realize the scale of likeminded crowds around them, the ‘there are more of us than them‘ awakening, there is a risk the platform operators will lose control.
Joyful people being ungovernable is a worst-case scenario for Washington DC.
The Fourth Branch of Government will demand legislation to prevent on-line liberty.
We are living in a time of great consequence.
It will be interesting to see how much pain this pebble in the deep state shoe creates.
Their ‘pain‘ is our freedom.
I’ve been off Twitter for six years. I’ll join Twitter again and continue on Truth Social to ensure support for free speech. I’ll support all free speech sites because I have tasted the alternative.
Are you ON Truth Social. I’ve been waiting since early March.
Same here. Dan Bongino said today on his podcast that those on the waiting list just have to go back to the app and voila’ they will be on Truth Social automatically. Too bad he did not mention the app right now is ONLY for those people with iPhones. The Android app is not up and running yet.
Android app coming soon. Before the move to Rumble’s cloud, there was no way TS was ready for the huge ramp-up of users that will result from bringing on the Android phone user base. Android constitutes over 85% of the mobile phone market.
Now that TS has migrated to the Rumble Cloud, the potential number of simultaneous users increased logarithmically.
Twitter didn’t happen overnight. And TS isn’t being assisted by government IT equipment.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. 🤷♀️
Btw, I finally got on TS. I figured out it does not like gmail accounts. I got a different email service for it and it let me on right away.
So Truth Social is ANTI-GOOGLE! Excellent!!
Good points!
I’ve gone back to app. Nothing but my waiting number.
If you have nt done so already, try updating the app via the App Store.
Same here. My number has not changed, once.
One has to ask why purchase a business that doesn’t make money?
charitable giving. political career.
there’s two.
Musk said in his recent TED Talk interview that he’s not (at the time) going after Twitter for financial or business reasons…
https://www.thestreet.com/markets/elon-musk-ted-talk
But what I’m saying is this is not a way to make money. It’s just that my strong, intuitive sense is that having a public platform that is maximally trusted and broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization.
EM is also a very creative person….His primary reasons may not be the economics of the company, but nearly every single company he has created or owned that hasn’t made huge returns.
Solar city was a flop to be clear, but he reorganized the company rapidly and it’s now called tesla energy. If you want to see how reorganization work, Elon style, look to that example.
All of his major investments have been very successful.
I think the only reason why twitter might fail is that USG gets involved…..which is likely.
This country is *this close* to Federal Hate Speech legislation. And we have a Chief Justice who will “side with the Liberal Justices”, you can count on that. So who’s gonna save us? Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley… and who’s army?
Those three sure gave us a lot of Kabuki Theater with their senate committee hearings with Fakebook, Twitter, and Google. Yet nothing happened as a result.
I am unafraid of radicals who attempt to delimit speech.
in FACT, I look forward to the battle.
it’s actually a necessary factor that realizes the transition from stage 3 (awareness) to stage 4 (transfer of power).
when the central government defaults on the most fundamental and most important foundations of the constitution, then we can form a declaration of independence with credible evidence that overlords have abandoned the most meaningful restrictions that our constitutions places upon them.
we will have a different definition of reset.
I welcome the challenge.
It identifies the corrupt and it ignites the one thing that all Americans and human being for that matter have in common:
the protected right to speak our minds, even if it is offensive and insulting….and especially that.
We the People.
They already are.
IF FREE SPEEACH IS STIFLED, EVENTUALLY ENTREPENURSHIP WILL BE
For many years Tesla did not make any money, but it’s stock made many people millionaires. Made Elon Musk billions. Twitter will report terrible financial numbers for the past quarter and future guidance will not be good. I think they report tomorrow.
… and then all the usual blue checkmarks will talk about it.
well adjust the question and refer to the “genius” of the warren buffet, who made billions buying UNDERVALUED companies and then made modest but critical changes to them..often simply dumping ineffective and negative products and management.
sound familiar?
EM is not doing something exotic here. Not from an invesment pov
he’s sees a fundamental potential that twitter has refused to address. and correct in order to achieve growth and profitability.
his ideas to achieve them start with several very simple and pretty easy measures he can implement as a private owner.
open software wrt algo’s…the application of this cannot be understated
edits features…the the deep dive and understand the revolutionary element this present to twitter, which they have refused to acknowledge and implement.
free and open speech platform and no more radical nazi jackboots.
thousands of very credible and popular voices who will be restored. Trump at peak had 40 MILLION followers.
and the one big move:
twitter as a platform will be monetized effectively. Ads. Like everyone else in social media and tech. That billions upon billions of revenue.
EM seems an undervalued company that has underperformed and yet has an established user base that is enormous. It’s undervalues and underperforms because it behaves not as a business but as some kind of batshit stupid crazy “right think” police of the radical state. It intentionally serves the interests of pushing one way political and social issue narratives and consumes all of its corporate energy devoted to that sole goal, at the expense of what a company that should be in business to make money. That makes it not only an undervalued company but a company that has lost its primary reasons to exist.
I am only surprised to be honest it has taken this long for some private investors to realize the not so hidden reasons why this is a turnaround company opportunity of a lifetime.
I am sure people will be talking about this acquisition and turnaround for many many years.
Sometimes the most obvious play just sits there for years and people either don’t understand the opportunity or they just don’t have the risk appetite and the energy to devote toward the effort.
I’m trying to connect the dots myself but I think I might have a very good idea and this of course is speculation.
Elon Musk knows Twitter is not worth much but even he said “unlock its potential”. What are processing fees when money changes hands?
why does Musk like Dogecoin?
Its possible that due to the fact everything is digital, if he incorporated Dogecoin as a base for digital currency exchange, Twitter stands a great chance of making major profits based on a fraction of a cent for every exchange made, globally.
it’s something I talked about on here in the past regarding Apple wallet, Google wallet, Facebook Wallets, they are the leaders in this technology and this is why the Federal Reserve is lagging.
If Ecash Act is passed which it will be in time. These “Stakeholders” stand to profit enormously.
Remember, I’m speculating here. Why else purchase Twitter?
Hook up Paypal…. for every tweet, he charges you a nickle -or a dime.
Both the Treasury Department I.e. Domestic digital Currencies and the Federal Reserve I.e. international currencies, are not capable of setting up such a system. This is why they have “ Stakeholders” who know and are way out in front when it comes to Digital everything.
I’m not always right… But, I’m rarely wrong.
That’s what I do, I study everything economics globally. I connect dots.
The writing on the wall is for all to read, you just need to see it.
But then free speech wouldn’t be free…
(Newspapers cost money to read back when those guys set that up..)
Back when newspapers actually reported the news as opposed to making it up.
I don’t think so. Even though Sundance clearly described the corresponding relationship between a user’s activity and the marginal (cost of) resources needed to support that activity (along with tens of millions of other concurrent users’ activity), that directly conflicts with the concept of “free speech.”
While I personally believe that a membership fee to use the platform would be justified, I daresay tens of millions of lefties would scream loudly if they suddenly had to pay to use the fruits of someone else’s effort. They expect everything for free – college, housing, food, cellphones, cars, fuel… they are perfect fools to buy into Schwab’s WEF UN Agenda 2030.
why does anyone need another reason besides “doing the right thing”
and this can and likely will be a historic remembrance kind of thing
Maybe it’s not his money being spent. One or more of the alphabet agencies may be funding the purchase. Something doesn’t smell right. Musk is not stupid. Maybe he is being blackmailed. Nothing would surprise me with this deal.
One has to ask have you watched the recent TED interview.
Elon Musk also spoke from his largest Tesla factory and in both interviews presented as very sincere, hardworking, empathetic, and deeply concerned about the world and how Musk can impact it in positive ways.
Elon Musk made it very clear he doesn’t care about the economic benefits but, feels this is an important acquisition so people can communicate without censorship.
Musk emphasized TRUTH is what drives him in all his endeavors.
Musk sold all of his properties, slept in a Tesla factory (as recently as 4 years ago since he was working nonstop and fighting off bankruptcy of the company at that time) and to this day says he will not be buying a home.
I find it ironic and frankly humorous that when discussing Elon Musk that’s the question that comes to mind.
Elon Musk and his motives are not necessarily typical for a billionaire, but I say that with admiration because the more I find out about Elon Musk the more I realize he’s one of a kind.
I do not claim to understand Elon Musk but feel very comfortable saying many of his actions indicate he does very kind things for no other reason but because HE CAN!
Elon Musk provided ventilators when asked, communication Starlink for Ukraine, shares technology with many of the EV competitors, and refused to disable Tesla cars in Russia or attempt to help knock out Russia communication networks because he believes everyone should have the ability to communicate and hopefully have access to the truth.
To dump a YUGE Dumptruck load of SAND into the gears.
To shed light on things that have been in darkness, since the origins of “Social media”.
And, because he is a Parent, and is concerned about the World his children will live in?
I hope he is on the “up and up”, and is prepared for the brutal attacks that will be coming his way.
Congress couldn’t get it together enough to rescind the exemption on Inet companies, …WATCH them now, as they suddenly will be motivated to pass legislation aimed at Musk, and the IRS and SEC will be up his backside.
To help crush a tool of the fascist left
Exactly.
Money and power are different things.
Income tax mitigation.
“it is entirely possible that Musk is about to take a massive financial hit.”
Is it possible he can write off any losses, or some losses on his taxes?
Didn’t he pay like $15 billion in taxes last year?
I have been in the tax shelter business for years and for years people think people buy things that don’t make economic sense because they deduct it from their taxes. You may as well go ahead and just pay the taxes without the arm waving.
Though something may have an immediate tax benefit eventually down the road it has to have potential economic sense or why do it? There may be an altruistic motivation and it could be the case with Musk.
Exactly
Don’t know just yet. Twitter itself, even after taking it private, is what’s known as a “C-Corporation,” which is recognized by the federal and state governments as its own separate entity, owned by shareholders. It’s likely that Musk set up one or more holding companies to acquire the Twitter shares, but as far as I know that hasn’t been disclosed. If the holding companies that end up holding the shares are pass-through entities like partnerships or LLCs, then Musk will be able to deduct Twitter losses against his other personal ordinary income. But I am just speculating. The structure of the deal is not public yet, as far as I’m aware.
I read recently Musk setup holding company called X that will be umbrella for twtr, space x, Tesla, boring etc
“It is entirely possible that Musk is about to take a massive financial hit.”
With a net worth somewhere north of $300 billion that “hit” would be minimal.
How many billions can a man actually spend when he doesn’t even own a home? He lives frugally…. I don’t think money is what motivates him…. I think it’s like a poster said above, it’s because he CAN!
“Joyful people being ungovernable is a worst-case scenario for Washington DC.”
Even worse than an angry people being ungovernable?
yes. joy is harder to make out as hateful. always a fight for the hearts and minds of the uncommitted.
Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can even see.
– Arthur Schopenhauer
We already know Musk has talent. We will see if he also has genius.
we already understand his level of genius.
the twitter question is can be duplicate inspite of the deep state that wants to see this fail.
a very different set of conditions for sure.
I think the best way forward is for Elon to understand that his 44 Billion investment may end up being a massive loss.
He’s talked about this possibility.
heck, he’s talked about the same reality wrt telsa ev and space x.
but he is DRIVEN TO SUCCEED. That’s a different animal.
I don’t the radicals understand who they are dealing with.
He is the joker who will outplay even the most corrupt cops in gotham
you can bet on it.
“but he is DRIVEN TO SUCCEED. That’s a different animal.”
——-
Musk is not driven by money or profit. He’s a Randian heroic archetype driven by achievement.
“Leaders are visionaries with a poorly developed sense of fear, and no concept of the odds against them. They make the impossible happen.” — Dr. Robert Jarvik, inventor of the artificial heart
I dunno.. Musk has re-landed his rockets; NASA has been trying to do that since its inception!
“Talent is an asset … and little Albert has it”
A bouncy, jumpy song by the band Sparks that you can pogo to
The ‘Albert’ in the song is Albert Einstein
Musk is with $200+ billion world’s richest man. I believe he has proven he is a genius beyond genius
It’s also entirely possible that Musk will turn out to be an even worse speech tyrant than his predecessors at Twitter…
KaweahKid
sad
That would be impossible and even Musk can’t do the impossible.
Will it matter if he is a worse free speech tyrant?
How will it matter if you are not on it, or have been kicked off?
Most people of consequence have already been banned.
I seriously doubt it. But he has talked about other changes – like verifying that all human users are actually “human.” How does he plan on doing that? People should remember that Musk is a climate nut, and is also involved in “transhumanism” ideas. He is a leftist, but one who apparently still respects freedom of speech.
verifying that all human users are actually “human.”
I wouldn’t think he’s doing anything there beyond distinguishing real users from bots
Bots are an actual thing on the internets
I wouldn’t be in a hurry to read more into it than that, but that’s just me
A climate nut?
Would that be the same Elon Musk who recently called for the US energy industry to get back to pumping oil and gas to solve the energy crisis?
Do you ever read the news, or just imagine it?
Musk is NOT a climate nut. Tesla is his dream of mass producing a cool electric car. He didn’t start Tesla to save the climate and probably knows climate change is a fraud but why not take free money from the evil ones pushing the fraud!
How is that possible?
Hey—I’m just raising the possibility. I may as well have put this comment on Twitter…!
We’re hoping for a live birth not an abortion. Maybe that’s why you’re getting flack.
Musk has already done more for free speech than any conservative I can think of.
I just want to say that the timing of this purchase, just before the 2022 midterms, a time where Twitter always suspends and shadowbans countless accounts on purpose on the run up to the election, is simply poetic … no wonder the leftists are burning mad, some of their plans have been foiled.
Elon just took a major seat at the table..
he has established himself, his ideals and this company AND ITS USERS as a tour de force that will indeed have an enormous impact on political arena.
Remember when facebook entered politics by allowing all manner of false ads and content before the election….that was the moment when facebook became a real force in politics
same thing here.
if he opens it up per promise, the platform is available TO YOU AND EVERYONE to influence the election.
Let that sink in.
Yup, he has messed w/their election tool. Bigly.
Well, at least instead of at least 2,000 Mules, they now have at least another 2,000,000 Mules … so they have that going for them as they attempt to steal the many 2022 elections.
I mean, who’s going to stop them?
WE ARE!!!
I read that his deal will take 6 months before it is completed. That brings us to October. So can Twitter continue to ban free speech and shut down accounts in the months leading up to the midterms? If so, Musk’s purchase will not help with the midterms.
Even if I don’t trust his political leanings, I can say he is one smart dude. He will be able to monetize this goldmine and make it to benefit and enrich his wealth.
Don’t doubt me on that one.
I hope he does. I hate it when people doing good things lose money.
The highly entertaining Globo Marxist public conniption fits alone already makes it a worthwhile purchase.
We need some torn garments and five buckets of ash here stat!
Musk would have seen the financials during this inbetween time. I doubt they had any complicated GAAP to figure out.
He continued with the purchase anyway.
He may believe he is buying “low” anyway.
Twitter failed to deliver growth. It failed by trading profitability for unprofitable bullshit practices that has resulted in it becoming a stale cheap whore of the radical left echo chamber.
there is an entire world of voices out there waiting to be heard.
He already knows what happens when you open things up.
twitter intentionally refused to do that…they made the decision to contain the growth for a purely political agenda..to drown out and shunt voices of opposition to their prized right think goals.
EM will remove that and it will set twitter free to achieve the growth these soon to be former twitter executives refused to allow for the dumbest of reasons in a business sense.
in making these changes he defeats the stupid in two ways:
he sets twitter back into a balanced political estate
AND
twitter can grow accordingly without the dumb restrictions that never make sense if the goal is to run a business profitably
Musk is, perhaps demonstrating the corolary of “Get Woke, go broke”; if in addition to making it a trusted platform for free speech, he also turns a profit.
God, I LOVE the smell of Schedenfrude in the morning!
Whats next, buy Disney, and turn it into a company focused on Family entertainment, instead of Pedophilia grooming?
The inmates were running the asylum. I suspect that Mr. Musk caught the board between a rock and a hard place. They knew the ship was about to sink and their only hope of getting any of their invested money was to sell now, or watch it burn to the ground.
I would have loved to watch the Twit burn and see all those wannabe tyrants working there living in a van under a bridge by the river. Better yet, under a blue tarp, under a bridge near the sewer treatment plant.
Did Spock ever attempt a mind warp with an imbecile like the ones who guard Twitter?
Yes. And, he can fire all the narrative enforcers Twitter uses to suppress free speech. Gonna be a long unemployment line there. Happy days!
Of course he has seen them. He would not have entered into a definitive purchase agreement otherwise.
Relevant text from Amendment 3 to Schedule 13D file April 20, 2022: “ From time to time, the Reporting Person may engage in discussions with the Board and/or members of the Issuer’s management team concerning, including, without limitation, the Proposal, potential business combinations and strategic alternatives, the business, operations, capital structure, governance, management, strategy of the Issuer and other matters concerning the Issuer. The Reporting Person may express his views to the Board and/or members of the Issuer’s management team and/or the public through social media or other channels with respect to the Issuer’s business, products and service offerings.”
Sundance’s simultaneous user problem theory is nonsense. Trivial issue for a website and network architected and constructed for that purpose, esp 280 max character msg length. That’s a few IP packets max/tweet. Trivial, even when re-broadcasting to all users (recognizing that only a small subset of users are actually simultaneous).
“I don’t care about the economics at all” –
Elon Musk
“The easy for part for Musk was buying Twitter,” Dan Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, said in an interview. “The hard part will be turning it around. It’s a social media arms race, and the advertising model has been lagging. Engagement has been lackluster. Freedom of speech is one thing, but Musk just bet 20% of his net worth on Twitter–and nobody else wanted to buy it.”
imagine you have 100 dollars…that’s all you have.
and no one and I mean no one is willing to spend 20 dollars on a hotdog stand that hasn’t shown a profit in a long time.
would you take the risk, and spend 20 percent of your entire networth on such an investment.
it’s a simple illustration most people can relate to.
But now lets change the question.
what IF you are the world’s richest person AND that hotdog stand has 330 MILLION customers AND that hotdog stand has refused to serve thousands of people in a very public and contentious and deliberate way that is has all the dimensions of discrimination, racism, polarizing political activism, and other bullshit management initiatives.
what happens if you can remove all of those things. Do you think people would eat more hotdogs, feel more at ease, maybe even buy some extra stuff like a soda and a pretzel and even start experiencing a more relaxed and yet vibrant and perhaps even dramatic experience and what happens then? does growth stay the same, or does it increase?
I know a few investors and that is all they look for: flaws and mistakes…things that can be fixed to improve the experience of even a small roach coach selling street food. Some things are easy to change. Sometimes that means giving a pink slip to a failed management and putting in new talent…talent that knows how to make money.
Elon knows how to make money. He understand talen. That’s his knack. And of course he has vision for products and technologies that few can even comprehend much less predict accurately. That’s genius level combined with serious drive to buck the system and invest in a a poorly run business.
most people would never part with 20 dollars if that meant having only 80 left.
And that happens to explain why many people will never understand what risk actually means.
there IS NO FREE LUNCH..you have to put something on the table.
Elon may say this is not economics, but there is little doubt that if he is capable of making key changes that he has discussed that twitter will be set free to a growth that former failed management refused to allow…
I think Elon understand also there is something very unique with twitter outside of profits too…something very profound and timely.
that it can be a real force in cultural and political shaping.
much like the former failed radicals used the platform to serve their own small interests that satisfied only one political camp and did so in the most toxic and heavy handed unfair and brazen way..at the expense of growth.
elon will use this platform in a way that serves MORE PEOPLE. It will invite MORE people to use the platform because can be reformed and re-engineered in a way that can be designed to attract more people. That makes it a much more powerful political device. So that might explain the “not economics” comment. Some things of value cannot be counted by coins.
But if this works out, and I have little doubts it will, the coins will be counted and it will be enormous.
It’s important to understand the sensational aspect of this acquisition. IT’S THE NEW THING EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT.
you restore those censored voices..that alone and people will want to talk about it, argue about it, get stupid about it, get informed about it.
And this send the stock up right into orbit.
you put some ads and actually monetize and bingo…
you are selling hotdogs to far more than 330 million customers. you are designing a true town hall for discussion from a company that understand how to just get out of the way and let business happen.
former twitter execs betrayed their shareholders.
shareholders were more than willing to sell…it was the first time they saw a return on investment from a company bent of doing everything they could to keep the horse in the barn.
Elon is about to set the horse free to run..
secretariat style.
Said he’d be gone, but then he posts again an hour ago. Liar!
It’ll be like 2016, when everyone was moving to Canada lol.
Moving to Canada: ‘Leaving Twitter’ Trends Amid Reports of Musk Deal Talks
Never heard of him.
Really? VT. Gov. who ran for Prez in ’04. Democrat.
Let out a loud scream and jumped up on the couch on Oprah
No, wait … that was Tom Cruise
Go ahead Howie, post a last screech.
Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!
😱 omg these people leaving Twitter it’s so childish.
I immediately thought of Schiff proclaiming he will never post so much as a word 🤣
The stand they’re taking is as meaningful and productive as standing on an anthill.
Honestly accept for making fun of some of the extreme Dems, entertainment industry fools (Bette Midler comes to mind as batsh### crazy) and fringe fools they will be missed by few.
”Said he’d be gone, but then he posts again an hour ago.”
Those folks alway over-promise and under-deliver.
Doesn’t he make pork sausages ???????????
OOPS it must be his brother………..
Just watching the meltdown of the Democrats/Liberals……
It’s worth it!!! Made my day!
The Looney Tunes on parade!
A lot of the same idiots who threatened to move out of US in 2016 if Trump became President….they never left…grin-unfortunately.
Wonder if they will leave Twitter?
I never joined Twitter. Off Fake Book for years.
At this point I am cautiously optimistic that Musk will be able to make, and maintain Twitter as, a robust platform for free speech.
Lots of editors at ny times, wapo and all the other left wing rags are on suicide watch. Like winning one for the gipper. FJB.
Moving to Canada: ‘Leaving Twitter’ Trends Amid Reports of Musk Deal Talks
I havent seen any reaction from bidens puppet masters, YET, but Im sure the communist lawyas are scheming as I type. The possibility of a huge social media platform with few rules and no
misinformation checkerscensorship has got to drive them insane.Just wait. The marixists will drag out Obozo and Shrillary to give talks (ie leftist propaganda) on disinformation and how dangerous it is to democracy. Just like they got them to do a week or so ago.
.
I mentioned my mixed feelings on the other thread.
That said, at a point, a person has so much money that more or less simply does not matter. It is my hope that Elon Musk, who already has achieved pinnacles in so many ways, now goes for one he hasn’t: hero. Do it, Elon. And maybe along the way you could take down some trash?
.
I don’t think elon has failure in his DNA….it’s 20 percent of his networth on a single company, of which he has zero experience but has extraordinary insights as a business person and visionary.
it’s just sitting there for years making no money, inspite of the fact it has 330 million users.
he’s buying opportunity and kicking management out the door and replacing them with people who understand how to restructure a company into profitability.
but it’s still 20 percent of his wealth.
that’s nothing to sneeze at, not matter how you understand his billions.
that means 20 percent not doing something else in his lane of experience.
who does that?
he’s sees something…something far more valuable than “economics”
I think we are seeing another example of elon showing vision for what other cannot or refuse to see.
I have a few opinions about what he is seeing. Suprisingly the changes he can make are rather simple and easy to execute.
We could see this company remove obstacles to growth literally within a week.
That is how easy some of the changes really are!
and when you realize this, you come to understand just how pathetically psycho the former management actually operated.
Just a few minor changes…but they refused..in fact trade growth and profits for objectively has to be the most stupid and embarrassing demonstrations of dotard.
Hero would be a lovely and refreshing change compared to some other super rich who seem to be aiming for dictators.
I believe he bought it to make money. There is a value to being “the only” big tech platform that believes in free speech. I don’t know how these tech sites work or how they make money but I’m not a billionaire, he is and he’ll figure out away to make money.
“the only” big tech platform that believes in free speech is Gab.com
Tucker always seems to find a way to make you laugh at these pompous pricks !

LEAKED VIDEO: Google Leadership’s Dismayed Reaction to Trump Election
By Allum Bokhari
12 Sep 2018
https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2018/09/12/leaked-video-google-leaderships-dismayed-reaction-to-trump-election
Remember, they told us in 2016 what they were going to do going forward.
twatter is 75-85% bots. Please, I beg you, LOOK at who owns MUSK. He has a group that is a big player in twitter and Blackrock…. This is a lateral move.
Do your homework.
We didn’t have anything to do with it.
We expelled no energy or resources.
As far as the obvious goes, there are far more probable upsides than downsides, with regards to free speech.
Not sure what you’re upset about. If the libs are having a meltdown and Musk promises to make it a free speech platform, what is not winning there? Even if Musk fails, which I don’t think he will for the record, it’s a huge loss for the libs.
You don’t have to venerate musk as a saint in order to appreciate it.
A substantial part of the money used by Musk to buy Twitter came from government subsidies. So, in a way he is using the governments own money to bury one of it’s propaganda tools. I can’t put a price tag on that.
Of course that’s garbage!
Are you even faintly aware of the many, many millions he is SAVING American taxpayers every year thanks to the unique capabilities of SpaceX?
We don’t beg Russia for space-going rockets any longer. Whatever happened to the tech know-how that gave us Saturn V? Why didn’t we progress beyond that? Why did we ever become dependent upon Russia for rockets? This country can be absolutely brilliant and absolutely STUPID, too.
No, a substantial part came from the run up in the stock prices of Tesla and SpaceX.
When Elon sells he will make bank.
I don’t know how to evaluate any of this at any level, actually, but it seems to me that Musk would not be putting out financial commitments/money he’s not ready to lose, if it comes to that; and, it doesn’t seem necessary to assume (as some seem to?) that he’s doing this as an investment.
The man who has nothing left to lose should rightfully be feared at times. The man who can afford to lose a great deal should also be feared by those who hate what he’s doing.
Elon Musk doesn’t need any particular group to come to any consensus about what he’s doing or why he’s doing it before he can do it. It’s interesting to watch, regardless.
Reminds me of the old story told about the people in power in England (’40s/50s genre) who had lots of secrets and didn’t want them exposed. At a given point, someone who knew how the game was played but who actually had no specific information about any of them, just sent telegrams to the top twelve power-wealthy-influencers-types in the country.
The telegram simply said: “All is revealed. Flee at once.” Within 24 hours, they had all fled the country. It’s possible that at least part of what Elon Musk is doing has something of that in it.

Elon Musk bought Twitter like an hour ago and Psaki announced the White House is already looking into reforming section 230.
Are you paying attention yet?

And we’ll hear from the RINOS next.
Good. And if they do Zuckerbucks are negatively impacted as well. This is just a scare tactic. If Twitter doesn’t censure content, then they are simply a publisher, not an editor. WH can’t have it both ways, logically.
Too bad President Trump doesn’t care about Android users seeing what he posts on Truth Social. I’m very disappointed that it’s not available to us yet. Don’t bother to tell me to be patient.
It’s a Head Scratcher, fer sure… considering the funding behind the operation. Mobile apps aren’t exactly Rocket Surgery… lots of commoditized componentry and technical know-how out there… available commercially and otherwise…
Patience. big upgrade a few days ago. Huge milestone. backlog of waiting list cleared. I am starting to use it and its getting better and better. I am @ CZ with CZ being the name I used to use which can no longer be spoken on this site, LOL.
Free speech and its suppression is definitely on trial.
Go Musk!

Tucker’s laugh is one of my favorite sounds in the world.
Yeah, it’s a laugh that’s equal parts mirth, disbelief (that they can do such stupid things), and triumphal blast (that we’ve won against such blatant stupidity by doing nothing more than letting them be blatantly stupid)
Or something
haha.
……” Twitter staff have been told that their jobs are safe for at least six months, until Elon Musk takes over under the terms of a $44 billion deal to take control of the company, agreed on Monday.”…..

Maybe the little progs can learn to code.
6 months? That’s a long time. I expect it will be faster.
There is so much possibility here of how this will play out. I will have to sit back with snack mix and pecan pie and watch over the next several days.
I never joined Twitter, could see only the rampant cruelty.
I like pecan pie-and Santa Claus!
My bet is a huge % of the 100M MAGA Patriots who love freedom, our Constitution and fully understands how our capitalistic system works, will gladly pay a small user fee IF free speech is real on Twitter.
The folks who won’t will be the left.
So in the end, conservatives can regain and rule the day assuming Musk stays 100% true to his recent tweets regarding the importance of free speech for society.
My only ask of Musk is IF he uncovers private/public issues within his new company where government supplemented services or such and this was never disclosed to the public, then he MUST disclose it all or trust can never be had.
Where the heck has this MSNBC guy been over the past several years (living in a cave)?
ugh.
the fools who still believe the BS spewed by people like this….
He knows he’s lying, and he’s got the MSNBC/Rach Maddow theatrics down.
The first 21 seconds is straight-up projection.
Ari Melber thinks we’re all idiots. Actually… we’re not his audience… he thinks MSNBC viewers are all idiots. Of course, said viewers have no idea Ari is talking to them like they’re idiots… which is kinda funny, if you think about it…
The first 21 seconds are comedy gold with a tinge of rage for conservatives
I am a long time lurker here on CTH and occasional commentator (Sundance has information to confirm my identity). I have known Elon Musk since 2001 when he called me out of the blue to do a private mission to Mars
. We ended up starting SpaceX as a result. What I want to say is that every since I met him, he has clearly been a Libertarian and free speech has always meant a lot to him. I recall very clearly after 9/11 when he told me “This attack is a real shame as this used to be a great country. Now, after this attack, the only way the government will be able to fight the terrorism will be to do things that also stomp on our individual liberties”. Truer words have not been spoken. This was September 15th 2001. From the beginning of my association with Elon, he was always very clear his three priorities for his life were: 1. Make humanity a multi planetary species 2. Stop the addiction on fossil fuels for transportation and 3) to protect free speech against tyrants as the core of our civilization.
I guess that I am not surprised by the move. I have been more surprised by Jack and his inability (or lack of desire) to stop Twitter from becoming what it is. Perhaps Sundance is right that it was the money and power of the fourth estate. I know Jack. I have at dinner in his home in SFO overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. I always considered him a few speech Libertarian and simply have never understood his lack of resistance to Twitter’s descent into tyranny. I think that with Elon’s acquisition, we will learn more as time goes on. I remain optimistic that this is one big challenge to the powers that be. We faced that at SpaceX and defeated the military industrial complex. This is an even bigger challenge.
This is encouraging to read. Thanks for posting!
Very impressive résumé Mr. Cantrell.
Thank you for posting.
Elon is an amazing individual who will be remembered in the history books. Dorsey, on the other hand, is an arrogant nobody who always seems to pander to the leftwing lunatic fringe that is driving democrat politics and fighting for total control of society today.

[Jack] … “a few speech Libertarian”
That’s for sure. Only a few are allowed the liberty to speak
And Jack and his Commissars decide who
Thanks for your contribution to CTH. Concerning #2, I think Musk has to do a Henry Ford Model T move with EVs. He needs to channel old Henry and introduce a truly break through EV for the masses. Musk is the kind of guy who could do it. His attempt at a pickup truck is NOT the way to do it!!
When it comes to Dorsey. When you reach that level of power in life you eventually have to chose that fork in the road. The true path, or the dark path.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your personal insight! Much appreciated!
Thank you for sharing.
Elon Musk’s motives in acquiring Twitter are difficult for some to trust, however you confirmed my belief that what you see is what you get.
Elon Musk has been very open about why he wanted to acquire Twitter so anyone that doubts it at least seek out the information out there before making judgements about it.
Musk said for the TRUTH and benefit of civilization itself.
Musk’s ability to profit while pursuing his latest passion is very important because we all know money is power.
Your first hand relationship with Elon Musk and how it evolved is another fascinating piece of information that reinforces how lucky this world is to have such a genius and also you!
I watched Body Language Ghosts take on part of Elon’s Ted talk.Kind of interesting.
May we fervently pray that stone in their shoe is our freedom purchased via sunlighted knowledge of truth.
If Elon Musk actually identifies more with Jefferson or Burke, it will be glorious to watch the sun come in.
We’ll see, and soon enough.
I like how entrepreuner Trump is staying away from the brand, so far. If Truth Social works the bugs out we may have a real beneficial competition.
The darkest hour is the Musk just before dawn…….
Nimrad man and other comments re Tucker’s laugh were the best for me. Had to turn on my computer again just hear an old Cindi Lauper song “Money Changes Everything.” Not one good link to share here.
In auditor speak, I have absolutely NO COMPREHENSION of what the balance sheet of Elon Musk looks like. There are the credits and the debits that go into calculating net worth. But I have my doubts, as one must always have, that this purchase of Twitter has a solely altruistic motive re “free speech.”
Imagine the loss of whatever he paid for Twitter on his balance sheet to write off on his tax returns? It WILL BE A MERE BLIP. I am, as Sundance often writes and posts, a CURIOUS CAT. The only Savior I attend to is not a human for now.
Interesting, and surprising.

Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey responds to Musk takeover: ‘Elon is the singular solution I trust’

I think it is a mistake for President Trump to state he will not participate with Twitter.
Is there some contractual agreement that he has signed that prevents him from using both Twtr and Truth?
if not, then why not use BOTH!
President Trump has enormous appeal even to those that despise him they can’t seem to ignore and react.
THAT’S POWER!
I don’t claim to understand what President Trump decides is best, but this seems to be an unforced error.
why not both?
Maximum exposure. Maximum impact.
Why not both?
anyone offer any clues or opinions?
I need to understand this.
Trump and his associates have spent a lot of resources building Truth Social. From a business perspective he does not benefit from using both.
Maybe TS should focus on becoming a hybrid replacement for uTube not Twitter?
Maybe TS should have gotten its act together and supported the vastly more popular Android platform instead of focusing solely on Apple? Maybe TS should have simultaneously started a PC app as well? Maybe TS should hang it up and stop beclowning itself?
Just my $.02. I don’t use big social media and only post here, so I have no dog in the hunt. It is concerning that TS makes this big announcement and months later people still can’t get on and only one fraction of handheld users are even supported.
I agree and timing is everything.
If President Trump’s account is reactivated (all those millions of followers) he can use Twitter to promote TS.
Share something on Twitter and mention his platform.
President Trump obviously knows how to use multiple means to communicate and the more he reaches the better.
If the plandemic and the stolen election coup are any indication of the Deep State’s response to being thwarted in any way, I hope they won’t respond to this new challenge by becoming even more cruelly authoritarian between now and the upcoming election.
Expect it.
Elon will have entrepreneurial hedge fund backing plus some cufflink Institutions, his personal exposure will be less than you think.
I liken all of these events to a symphony of chaos. Noise. Lots and lots of noise. But there must be a conductor, as even this noise has pattern. Its all building to something. Even this Twitter business. This isn’t it – Musk obtaining Twitter. It all started ages ago. Trump being banned. Dorsey bailing out. Now Musk …and everything in between. Its noisy, but there is pattern, direction, purpose.
That direction seems, as of late, crazy town isn’t in charge anymore. Right across the board. First expose, then it dies. Resurrection? Something as important as Twitter, maybe so. Disney in the long run? Media, Hollywood, Education? …all the way to the top.
As a side note – I wouldn’t be surprised if Bugs Bunny himself isn’t conducting this orchestra 😛
I believe Musk, Dorsey, and many many powerful people know in detail what the NWO has in store for the masses next and enough is enough!
This faction of people have become much more organized and open because as burginthorn has noted there’s a lot of chaos going on.
Obama coming out with his ridiculous speech about the importance of policing against disinformation is outrageous but why is he so threatened?!
I am encouraged because Elon Musk and even Dorsey are making statements that are hurting the NWO agenda.
I believe there is a faction that’s taking on NWO and they know millions of people will stand ready and willing to support, help organize and as the TRUTH gets out will only increase.
Also interesting….
Evidently, Dan Scavino posted a pic gif of him with Jack Dorsey and bags of popcorn popping.
Is Jack going to come clean on some Twitter stuff?

Trump says he won’t tweet if his account is reinstated. If he does, it should be “ I’m back “
Ah, God bless that John Rich
He’s a guy you could have a beer with
Funniest thing is now Rob Reiner has to go on the internets and look up who John Rich is
… and he’ll be pi$$ed to find out he’s just been dissed decisively by a Nashville know-nothing (in Reiner’s view)
Good piece by Tucker.
The dnc weeps over their loss of tool for implementing their fascism.
Musk probably does not care about losing money given that he keeps making money and becoming richer but doesn’t really buy things.
No mansions in The Hamptons or Hollywood for him. As a matter of fact, no official single family housing residence anywhere. Elon Musk, the vagabond prince of space travel.
Bozos The Clown chimes in…
“Bezos questions possibility of Chinese influence after Musk’s Twitter acquisition”
https://thehill.com/news/media/3463152-bezos-questions-possibility-of-chinese-influence-after-musks-twitter-acquisition/
Bezos responded to a tweet by New York Times reporter Mike Forsythe outlining links between Musk and China.
“Tesla’s second-biggest market in 2021 was China (after the US),” the tweet read, noting that “Chinese battery makers are major suppliers for Tesla’s EVs” and that “After 2009, when China banned Twitter, the government there had almost no leverage over the platform.”
“That may have just changed,” wrote Forsythe.
Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post, quote-tweeted the message, writing, “Interesting question. Did the Chinese government just gain a bit of leverage over the town square?”
This doesn’t even make sense… China is looking for “leverage” over Twitter? For what, exactly? Young people use TikTok… which the CCP has a good handle on. This is pure setup by FNYT and Bozos. You hit it outta da park, Cue Ball!
Bezos: “look! Squirrel!”
“Everything up to now has been easy for the tech Oligarchs to continue because no one knows how it works.”

Hopefully Musk will make public the “AI algorithms” that “shockingly” ban ONLY conservative facts, comments, & ideas — while allowing all manner of evil from the favored Left & Islamic terrorist death cult.
I can hear the MDM-MSM now: “CONSPIRACY THEORY!!! IMPEACH TRUMP AGAIN!!!”
