He tried to drive around a road closure at the entrance to the county club hosting golf tournament he was playing because of the starting time to tee-off. The cop leaped onto his windshield then dragged him out of the car and arrested him not knowing who he was. The golf pro said he thought it was the tournament security and needed to get to the clubhouse.
Seems like the police overreacted big league. The golfer is Number One rated pro in the world.

From a report that I saw, police were directing traffic onto the median to get around the accident. If other vehicles used the median, then this officer is entirely in the wrong. He grabbed the car and was not pulled on to it before it stopped after about 10 yards. So obviously it wasn’t going very fast it it stopped after 10 yards.
At PGA and LIV events, the players know that an entry lane will be always available and they don’t have to stop and show their pass/credentials several times as long as they are driving right to player parking, where they are checked in. That is a piece of information that has been omitted from all MSM reporting. Many times have these players just drove right by some security guy (almost always local police.) Scottie was probably going very slow, and it was very early in the morning. The cops had already failed badly in crowd control because a guy walked in front of an event bus and was killed. Blocking off all access to the event on a road the players used to enter the course while they did their investigation thing was almost guaranteed to lead to some sort of issue.

Regarding Scottie Scheffler arrest. I’m curious why the Masters champion and number 1 golfer in the world was not a passenger in a tournament provided courtesy car. I would think at least the top 10 contestants would have such transportation.
Many Americans would refuse such transportation, preferring to drive ourselves.
