My oldest has a dear friend. Their kiddos have gone to school together since kindergarten, and they as mothers met and just clicked….like souls. Her friend moved about an hour away but they still take turns coming to each others homes. Caroline’s twin lads and on of her boys are off to college now, one twin and his friend to the same one in Louisiana.
On one trip, her friend brought a small Cheesecake Factory plain cheesecake, and Caroline gave us enough for two night’s worth of desserts, bless her. Anyway, I’d never tasted one of theirs, figuring how good could they be to justify the hideous price.
BOY!!! Was I WRONG!!! First bite, and I was in heaven!!! And now I’m strategizing to take out a loan to go get another!! 😂 Heaven!

Oh sis….I saw this one a while back and saved it for Caturday. I guarded it against unintentional deletion with my life….then on the day, I accidentally deleted. I was truly bereft. I had so wanted to share this beautiful, poignant photograph. And due to the fattest of fat fingers, made it discappear (deliberate misspelling…my then four year old granddaughter pronounced the word this way, and now so do I 😎).

I learned yesterday that that once four but now sixteen granddaughter, Sarah Grace, who just became a licensed driver has done us proud.
Her mother said that as soon as she left the DMV, SG said “Now I can get my life together!!”
Whereupon within a week she secured an interview for job which she got. HOORAY!!! SO proud of her ambition and diligence. First day was yesterday.
When I asked where it was, Caroline said “Sweet Llamas”, a chain out of Oklahoma which is a sort of ice cream and other sweets place. Its just up the road from where they live, which is an incredible bonus what with gas the price it is.
Never mind that I misunderstood and thought she said ” Sweet Mama’s” which sounded like another type of place (as I told my daughter who retorted, “Yes, Mom…she’s a stripper” 😂😂😂)

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has found loaded rocket launchers during its operation in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, now in its second week.
Rocket fire from Gaza into Israel, which was nearly constant in the days following the October 7 terror attack, has largely subsided. However, in recent weeks, Hamas terrorists have fired rockets at the Keren Shalom crossing, where humanitarian aid enters Gaza near Rafah, and at the city of Sderot, near northern Gaza.
The fact that the IDF is discovering and destroying rocket launchers provides further justification for the ongoing Rafah operation, to which the Biden administration and much of the international community has objected. Who needs a computerized and eviro friendly tractor which is unreliable and breaks down when the seed must be planted NOW or the crop must be harvested NOW?
They may keep their oh so wonderful toys and I will keep my old but reliable and maintainable tractors!
Give me a Ford 8N any day. Seen one up close and personal since my previous house was adjacent to a farm and my son worked for the farmer in the summer… 8N was a reliable tractor.
The small Fords and the Fergusons were the first really handy 3 point hitch tractor enabling use of a wide variety of farm implements rather than mostly proprietary ones.
You don’t have to go so far back in years though to get a dependable workhorse of a tractor; 70s, 80’s 90’s or early 2000 models work great if maintained or refurbished.
Farmers used to buy a new tractor every few years because they didn’t have time to do in-depth maintenance. Now new models are not dependable so its self defeating or doesn’t serve the original purpose trading for new all the time.
Massey Fergusons were popular around my area. I was never a farmer nor raised around farming. Only got close to it because of where we raised our kids – farm adjacent. The farmer who owned all the land – part of which was sold to a developer for the small group of homes where we lived – had a son who despite being 15 yrs older became good friends with my son. My son learned a lot about farm equipment – operation, maintenance, & reliability – over several years of part time hard work which he shared with me. The farmer dealt mostly with hay, straw, feed corn, alfalfa. Our area in north central Maryland has a lot of small horse farms and horse retirement mini farms (15 to 20 acres), so there has always been a decent market for those crops.

Marvin Vincent was a professor of New Testament exegesis in New York a century ago. In his commentary on today’s verse, he begins, “A plum tree bears plums because it is a plum tree.” The inborn sinful nature of every human places him or her in rebellion against the will of God.
Vincent wrote, “Sin will take you farther than you ever thought you’d stray; Sin will leave you so lost, you think you’ll never find your way; Sin will keep you longer than you ever thought you’d stay; Sin will cost you more than you ever thought you’d pay.”
The disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden introduced the sin nature to human existence. The “all” in today’s verse means all, no exceptions.
Sin holds you in bondage to evil. Many in the United States make light of this, joking or even bragging about it. Satan has convinced them that sin is just something Christians have made up to draw them away from “really enjoying life their way.”
Movies, television shows, and certain news items paint sin as entertaining. This a trap! Sin has its price. “The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). To overcome the sin nature you were born with requires being born again through the gift that God has given—His Son, Jesus, and the ransom price paid for you at the cross.
The glory of the Lord has drawn a very distinct line, and your life is either on one side of it or it is on the other. God is holy and cannot condone sin. Ignorance is no excuse, as the eternal law is written on the human heart (Romans 2:15). However, God has provided a legal pardon. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Those who have been born again are not immune to sin in this life. Be sensitive and watchful, staying close to the Lord to keep clean accounts with Him. Pray for the many who have been led astray by the sins in American culture to turn to the Savior. Pray for God to strengthen and deliver believers who are struggling.

We have no corresponding experience to the events in Our Lord’s life after the Transfiguration. From then onwards Our Lord’s life was altogether vicarious. Our Lord does now go back in His primal glory; but He does not go back simply as Son of God; He goes back to God as SON OF MAN as well as Son of God. There is now freedom of access for anyone straight to the very throne of God by the Ascension of the Son of Man. As Son of Man Jesus Christ deliberately limited omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience in Himself. Now they are His in absolute full power. As Son of Man Jesus Christ has all power at the throne of God. He is King of kings and Lord of lords from the day of His Ascension until now.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Had the pleasure (about 35 years ago) to go inside a sod house with guided tour by last surviving son who was born and raised in it.
The stories and information was incredible!
He had all sorts of tools and implements hanging on the exterior walls and on the grounds near the house; which he described their use.
He realized the significant history; as most soddies were long gone.
He was such a lovely, smart and very interesting old fella .

In Custer County Nebraska just outside of of Sargent.
He was well into his 80s and described what life was like there
and explained cutting the sod rectangles and building and maintaining it.
He walked us through the upgrades and improvements (covering inside walls and ceiling with fabric and plastering, laying wooden flooring).
The window openings were amazing! Real deep/thick. A great place to sit!
The rain and bugs inside were interesting – to say the least.
Too much rain was not good but
dust bowl day’s weren’t good either.
Collecting rainwater to drink , cook and wash.
It was truly an experience of a lifetime… to hear his real life tales.
My MIL remembered him and his family; as she was born and raised close by.
She would see that man and his family at her Uncle’s barn dances; a fine carpenter with a pristine barn floor “in the county”; she used to say.
What a fantastic experience that you heard the stories from him first-hand.

In 1958,( I believe), my mom took my brother and I to New London to watch the first nuclear submarine, the USS Nautilus, return from under the North Pole. She said we would always remember it, and we do.

IDF Finds Bodies of 3 Hostages in Gaza, Including Shani Louk
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Friday that it had recovered the bodies of Israeli hostages Amit Buskila, Itzhak Gelerenter, and Shani Louk in a special operation overnight in the Gaza Strip.
All three were murdered at the Supernova Music Festival in Re’im, in southern Israel, and their bodies taken to Gaza.
Louk was killed and her body abused on the back of a pickup truck in one of the most infamous scenes of October 7.
There are over 40 hostages, out of roughly 130 still in Gaza, who are known to be dead. At least 60 are thought to be alive.
Negotiations have stalled, as Hamas has insisted on a permanent end to the war as a condition for the release of hostages. It also has not committed to the release of all remaining hostages, but just old, sick, and female hostages.
Though the news is bad, many Israelis feel it confirms the decision to press ahead with military operations in the southern city of Rafah, as well as in areas of northern Gaza that still have some Hamas presence. In addition to destroying the last Hamas battalions, the IDF hopes to rescue and recover at least some of the remaining hostages.

So here’s the thing. People, mostly Westerners, keep trying to draw a sharp, hard line between average Gazan civilians and Hamas. But no such line exists.
It is much like the average German citizen in 1934 and the Nazi Party. Most Germans supported the Nazi party and most Gazans support Hamas.
Average Gazans provide material aid and support for Hamas.
Hostages have been held in private homes.
Weapons stockpiles and such are found in civilian homes and structures.
They teach their children to hate and aspire to murder Jews.
These kids are indoctrinated from birth to be terrorists, and that’s what many of them grow up to be.
