During an appearance at the Hudson Institute, U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer is asked to summarize the administration’s approach to upcoming USMCA (CUSMA) renegotiations.
USTR Greer emphasized the focus is on outcomes in review of the USMCA, not focusing on the previous trade structure itself. The results carry more weight than reviewing what was intended. On June 1st Greer anticipates telling congress that the U.S. intends withdrawal, pending unilateral negotiations with both Canada and Mexico to resolve conflict.
Greer describes two different protocols within any negotiation to deal with the structural differences between both Canada and Mexico. Those differences include a completely different import/export profile with each country, different sectors of goods, difference in the wage rates within each country and a structural difference in the way each country is establishing their own, independent free trade agreements with other third-party countries. These baselines form the reason to tell congress of the dissolution, and on July 1st inform both Canada and Mexico about it.
In the interim, the points of conflict are currently being negotiated with Mexico toward resolution. The same negotiation is expected later between the U.S. and Canada; however, it sounds like that engagement will take place after congress is informed of the points of conflict. WATCH (prompted):

Over 18 million illegal aliens roaming the country right now according to FAIR’s March 2025 estimate. That’s an 11% increase over 2023.
Uniparty keeps the influx coming in while trying to ship as many U.S. jobs into the hands of foreign countries and interests. That’s in addition to the increasing job displacement from AI/automation/robotics that’s occurring.
Everyone benefits in the DC beltway but the American people suffer from all of it.
18 million probably isn’t even half the true number.
I’d estimate a conservative 40 million. Likely undercounting even then.
Yep… it was reported to be on the order of 20M like 15-20yrs ago IIRC.
The ONE thing Trump said he would do has not yet been done.
You want Trump to snap his fingers and 40 million illegals disappear? Sorry, for that you have to get a ticket and go to the movies.
In real life things take time, and you already, visibly, see how many are meaning removed while the entire establishment fights against him… you already knew that, right?
I was in Sioux Sault Marie Canada today shopping at the Canadian General Tire store. A young man – maybe late twenties or early 30s came up to me trying to talk me into a Canadian General frequent shopper card, or maybe a credit card for discounts. Pretty heavy accent. I declined and he was a little pushy. “I’m, not Canadian” I (foolishly) explained. “Oh – you are American ?” and then he launched into a diatribe of pure hatred “What are you trying to do ? You are making things terrible for all of us !” and walked away in pure hatred. Somehow he didn’t buy my cheerful shrug that I personally do not have a lot to do with international relations.
Boy the propaganda must be really thick !
Canada is going to get hammered in the trade deal because they got in bed with China and the Canadian gov’t loves to kill old White Canadians with MAID.
EXACTLY

From an old white Canadian.
PS
God Bless America and President Donald Trump ✝️🙏
Sure to be a panic porn hit this summer, brought to you by the neo confederate secessionists and their lapdog media.
“But…but…but…we NEED NAFTA…er, USMCA…er, Orange Man Bad!
“The same negotiation is expected later between the U.S. and Canada; however, it sounds like that engagement will take place after congress is informed of the points of conflict.”
Regardless of what is said, there shall be much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Nothing squeals louder or longer than the breaks on the Gravy Train.
Ironically enough it’s nigh indistinguishable from the squealing of a stuck pig.
The Artemis crew would be hearing the ree all the way from the dark side of the Moon.
USTR Greer is rightly frustrated by all of the hoops he and his team have to jump through to get rid of the USMCA, as well as the ridiculous timeline built into the process. Clearly it is chock full of booby traps designed to sabotage legitimate attempts to tear it up and replace it with something better.
That video clip was an excellent illustration of UniParty machinations.
China at our border clamoring for our auto market using the snow mexicans as a pass-through on the final drive….even if the wait is 20 years…I hope the RINO elite at the US Chamber of Commerce and other country club cucumber sandwich lobbyists choke and go down in flames together with Globalism/Communism…
Remember required reading of Thomas Friedman’s The Lexus and the Olive Tree, which explores the forces of globalization during my MBA and the resistance received by many professors and colleagues when I debated against this new “shiny” business concept and its strategic repercussions to our country…
What a bunch of hogwash about Bondi.
I just returned from a vacation in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
While there I saw 2 BYD Chinese electric cars on the road.
I saw exactly ZERO Teslas – but I was under the impression that the Chinese electric cars are banned in Mexico.
So the negotiations for the USMCA need to be completely dismantled with BOTH Mexico AND Canada and single agreements negotiated with each and the Chinese electric cars need to be removed from the Western Hemisphere.
The Trojan horses of transportation – BVD and the like – could be the ultimate weapons of mass destruction and disruption when they remotely take control over them from China and run them into people, places, other cars and then shut them down on freeways, etc.
Does your city in California or a number of other states have an Electric Metro bus? Many are made by BYD…Do you live in a state with onerous emissions regulations such as at Port of(Los Angeles, Long Beach, and San Diego, etc?) There is a first mile zero emissions requirement phasing in zero emissions for moving the freight from the dock, and special rules to move that freight within CA or up to the border. Special Container moving trucks with the Port area(Brought to you by BYD). Largest Electric Truck Battery Manufacturer in US? BYD.
I’m more concerned about cutting off container traffic remotely through Sea Ports if Huawei electronics ever gets to install its communications gear in autonomous port projects in the USA. The Spanish are neck deep in Chinese automation. Port of Barcelona for example…Huawei is the communications gear that can connect the port equipment to Internet Infrastructure…
Just as Sundance said!
