As anticipated, The House of Representatives now under Republican control, has established a subcommittee to review the “weaponization of the federal government.” [Media Report]
The subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee will have the power to investigate any part of the federal government for targeting and wrongdoing against American citizens – the Justice Department and FBI, in particular.
In the debate to establish the committee, Representative Dan Bishop (R-North Carolina) delivered powerful remarks from the floor. WATCH:
.
I hope Dan Bishop is a member of the committee.
Will there be a committee? Good. But don’t hope for too much. It will be up against the most important dynamic of all.
Until the Civil service protections are repealed, these efforts are likely to be disappointing.
Where is the investigation into something important, like Voter Fraud? Where are the solutions to fix it? Only the most important issue for Americans. Nothing here and the Uniparty loves it.
If I recall correctly, OrangeManBad wanted to curtail the privileges or maybe abolish the Senior Executive Service. That would be a great beginning.
My son works for the post office (civil service) and I can hardly believe some of the fluffy benefits he gets. Wish I’d had a job like that when I was of working age! It’s startling to think of all the postal employees across the USA getting these same benefits. It costs the country A LOT OF MONEY for these people NOT to work! Days off, different from sick days of course, short hours, bonuses for different tiers of “achievement”, etc. He has a very large family to support but nevertheless, he makes the kind of money most people only dream about from my generation, except of course the biden’s.
D. Smith : since the sell out of American working people that really took off hard in the early 80’s moving everything offshore I never advise young people to work a job for any small to modest non union company .
Go for any government job local state or federal you’ll retire after 50 with life left to live and the means to do it while your counter parts in the private sector work till they drop !
Never forget these powers can be used by those whose intent is not in line with the original goal.
It might be better to investigate why these agencies are soooo off the rails and WHY those internal employees who come forward as whistleblowers are not rewarded.
FEDGOV bureaucracy is off the rails because the whole damn thing is unionized, even the “administrative law judges” have some kind of associated union affiliated with AFLCIO. Until that mess is cleared away by rescinding JFK’s EXECORDRER 10988, the bureaucratic state will be status quo: protecting itself, empowering itself, enriching itself at the expense of anybody who is not a member of the now deep state corporate/bureaucratic FEDGOV org. Anything besides getting rid of the union of bureaucracy will be window dressing.
Starting with the FBI. I have 2 relatives who work for the FBI and you oughta see the money they bring home, it’s sickening to the average person. I live (barely) on social security and then they have to mess with our medicare benefits THROUGH our social security on top of it all. We either have those benefits for the use they were intended or we don’t. biden will find a way to take these away, I’m afraid. I refuse to capitalize his name, he’s such a dog.
Wonder why democrats voted against this?
I am afraid Rep Dan Bishop just painted a target on his back.
Let’s just hope Bishop does a better job than Trey Gowdy on Benghazi . . .
Trey Gowdy said he walked the walk, but all he did was talk. Useless. People figured it out real quick.
Along with Gowdy, you can add Jason Chaffetz to the “no action, talk only” list of ineffective Republican Chairmen. In their defense, however, they had to go through RINO-Trump hater Paul Ryan. What do they all have in common now: They all work for News Corp/Fox News. Coincidence??
Not coincidence, convenience. Slither from one corporate job to another because our gubmint is nothing more than a huge monetarily driven corporation much like amazon. Disgusting.
Not everyone is a coward.
Courage is contagious.
At some point we need to recognize the profound change in the culture of America.
Nature abhors a vacuum, and a culture without God will develop a new religion.
Leftism, in all its variations, is a worship of the State. Government is their God, and like all deeply religious people they find doubters and dissenters, heretics and apostates, strongly offensive.
I worry about the dichotomy that now plagues America, where only the religious question worship of the State. Hitler surely demonstrated the length that State-worshipers (fascists) will go to suppress their perceived enemies.
Politics is downstream from culture. No political solution exists for a sick culture.
This is exactly what has happened.
We went from “One nation under God” to complete degeneracy.
We’ve been under God’s judgement for decades now.
People seem to love all this gay stuff and abortions, etc. I know I’m sure tired of seeing it on tv. It’s just sick so why is our country, under biden, now trying to normalize this crap? And people are allowing this happen even though in their hearts they know it’s not right.
“Six ways from Sunday”, huh, Chuck Schumer???
This is good but will be pointless if it doesn’t result in sweeping reforms to possibly include the abolition of the FBI, CIA and hamstringing the NSA so that they can’t spy on every citizen. It seems like a disproportionate number of leadership in each agency as well as many agents are partisan left Democrats and are using the power of each agency to wage war against their domestic political foes on the right.
Judicial Watch had an interesting proposal which would abolish FBI and essentially fold in into the U.S Marshals service. Something has to be done because the FBI has become the secret police force for the Democrat party.
The most dangerous thing in the world is someone who is given “great power,” “unfettered access,” and the ability to conceal what he is doing. Someone who can for himself decide that something is “a national security threat.” Because, given that human nature is what it is, that man or woman will do what Josef Stalin did, what Pol Pot did, what Mao did. That person will do what the worst dictators and tyrants did – and he will do it “in secret.” He will have no scruples against lying about all of it, to anyone and everyone. He will make a career out of it, and retire with a pension.
The national security (sic …) apparatus is collecting vast amounts of information simply because it possesses the ability to do so. Why does a GPS database need to record the exact location of your cell phone every minute of every day, and you can’t prevent it? Because they can. But, “Knowledge Is Power,™” and knowledge can actually be a true “national security risk.” Because, our nation actually consists of more than 333 million persons. If you catalog that kind of information, just because you can and just because there is no one to tell you “no,” that creates a new kind of risk.
DOJ and FBI scandal strongly Go investigation we The people wants.
Only matters if they actually hold them accountable and major prison sentences for all involved. Otherwise…..
How about starting discussions on repealing the unconstitutional anti American Patriot Act?
BINGO!!!
These days only a fool would believe that the main thrust, theoretical and practical, of the gigantic CORPORATE\FEDGOV BUREAUCRATIC STATE, is not aimed directly at destruction of U.S. Constitutional Law and the unique American Way of Life.
P.S. I have a strong suspicion that some of that high tech surveillance and control software described by Edward Snowden is being used to tamp down “thumbs up” at CTH. Those boys know how to stay completely hidden while they look at everything anywhere and do anything they want to in the digital universe.
Time to do away with the so called Patriot Act.
Getting rid of the Act would be a cakewalk compared to getting rid of all the unionized bureaucrats working for The Act. Ain’t no bureaucrat in the USA gettin’ a pink slip before a brace of Lawfare lawyers take every one of them thru the courts to protect their “rights.” Since JFK signed E.O. #10988, the Lawfare lawyers have been granularizing its provisions. Now, even dogcatchers have a union and the protection of union lawyers.
Uh huh 🤪 Now I should believe something will happen like firing with cause , prosecution loss of retirement and medical benefits and fines with prison times that put their families on welfare like what they have done to many
