NEW MEXICO – The federal government’s new facility to house illegal immigrant families surging across the border has been put on lockdown because of chicken pox, with no immigrants allowed to be transferred in or out, a congressman said this week.
Hundreds of illegal immigrants being kept at the campus of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico, are being treated for and vaccinated against chicken pox after an outbreak, said Rep. Steve Pearce, the Republican congressman whose district includes Artesia.
“As the FLETC facility reaches maximum capacity, I am increasingly concerned for the health and safety of the women and children at FLETC and for the local community. The virus, that has caused two residents to be put in isolation, has halted all departures,” Mr. Pearce said. (more…)

Newsbusters – On a truly idiotic segment of the July 29 edition of Ronan Farrow Daily, the host of the Lean Forward network’s “next-generation news show” discussed the current state of emojis with linguist John McWhorter, CNet’s Maggie Reardon, and journalist Dave Cullen.
Farrow commented how the popular emoticons are “becoming more and more the fabric of the kind of communication you see,” and truly out-liberaled himself with his question to McWhorter, who happens to be black.

After wondering whether emojis, which originated in Japan, could alter “tech-driven communication across international lines,” Farrow asked McWhorter, “do you think there’s a limitation we’re suffering from in terms of the racial diversity of these emojis?”

I would like to see the liberal team who came up with this concept try to give a class in:  “Lose Your Urban Dialect” for inner city black people.    Do you think that would go over ?  Yeah, me neither.

TENNESSEE – It’s OK to talk Southern and work at a national lab — after all.
Oak Ridge National Laboratory has cancelled plans for a “Southern Accent Reduction” class because of objections from lab staff members, some of whom said they were offended by the training opportunity.
ORNL’s human resources department early last week distributed a registration notice for the six-week course to be taught by Lisa Scott, “a nationally certified speech pathologist and accent reduction trainer.”
Here was the pitch to get employees to sign up for the speech rehab program: “Feel confident in a meeting when you need to speak with a more neutral American accent, and be remembered for what you say and not how you say it.”
The notice said the class would cover “some of the most common pronunciation and grammatical differences between Southern dialects and standard American English.” (more…)

In our estimation the bottom line reason for the secrecy is simple.  There are few, very few, unaccompanied children.  If reporters actually went to the facilities -which only house people for 30 to 35 days average- they would find families, and/or women with children, not unaccompanied alien minors.   
The administration wants to keep up the ruse of tens of thousands of poor innocent children.    That false impression is what gives the administration public support and simultaneously keeps their opponents from undermining them.  That’s why Glenn Beck and Dana Loesch were so stupid in the teddy bears and footballs tour.  They gave credibility to the false claims, undermined opposition to the illegal influx and as a direct consequence, undermined the rule of law.  

WASHINGTON DC – The Obama administration is concealing key details about its response to the surge of unaccompanied children illegally crossing the southern border, including where the unaccompanied minors are being sheltered and the circumstances under which some are set free inside the U.S.
Lawmakers on Capitol Hill say the lack of information has handicapped their push to pass legislation to gain a handle on the surge — a debate taking place this week in both chambers. (more…)

A few days ago we noticed an article in a Texas newspaper highlighting a proposal to build a transitional housing facility for 3,500 illegal aliens.   The proposed facility name was noted in the media as “Abraham Lincoln Transitional Lodge“.

Tornillo Land Co. owns the plot outlined in the application @15.6 acres.

This is the first Associated Press mention of the facility – CLINT, Texas (AP) — Authorities are considering a bid to build a shelter in West Texas that would be the largest in the U.S. to hold unaccompanied children who enter the country illegally.

A number of sites in Texas and elsewhere are being considered as detention facilities for many of the more than 57,000 unaccompanied children who have entered the U.S. since October.

But with 3,500 beds, the proposed Abraham Lincoln Transitional Lodge southeast of El Paso would be far larger than other centers. A temporary processing facility in McAllen holds about 1,000 children.

The lodge’s marketing director, Charles McGuire, tells the Houston Chronicle (https://bit.ly/1AmXUMR ) that the principal backers of the bid previously have invested in housing for oil workers in Texas.

Reporters in Gaza know exactly where the main Hamas compound is located but they refuse to discuss it because:  a.) they fear retaliation from Hamas, and, b.) the media don’t want to report anything that supports Israel’s contentions.
GAZA – The idea that one of Hamas’ main command bunkers is located beneath Shifa Hospital in Gaza City is one of the worst-kept secrets of the Gaza war.

So why aren’t reporters in Gaza ferreting it out? The precise location of a large underground bunker equipped with sophisticated communications equipment and housing some part of the leadership of a major terrorist organization beneath a major hospital would seem to qualify as a world-class scoop—the kind that might merit a Pulitzer, or at least a Polk. The real war on women continues through the mouth of islamists.  And it’s worthwhile to remember Turkey’s Prime Minister Erdogan is BFF’s with President Obama on the world stage.

TURKEY – Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister has said women should not laugh out loud in public and urged them to stop talking about ‘unnecessary’ things on the phone.
Bülent Arınç also complained about ‘moral corruption’ by television programmes which he claims are transforming teenagers from ‘symbols of chastity’ into ‘sex addicts’.
Speaking at an Eid el-Fitr – breaking of the fast – event in the northwestern city of Bursa, he claimed Turks had ‘abandoned their values’ and pleaded people to rediscover the Koran.
Describing his ideal chaste man or woman, Arnic said they should both have a sense of shame and honour. (more…)

(Via Daily Signal)  Guatemalan President Otto Perez Molina says $2 billion in federal aid and other U.S. investment in Central America could help end the flood of immigrants across the U.S. southern border.

But it’s a fool’s game, says the leader of a charity serving immigrants from Honduras.
“I think giving money to these governments is a serious mistake,” said Francisco Portillo, president of the Honduran Francisco Morazan Integrated Organization in Miami. “Corruption in our country [Honduras] is huge, no limits. And the money they are talking about is coming from our taxes.”
Giving money to Central American governments in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador is basically the same as throwing it away, he said. (more…)
